"I saw that Rusa, a North Portland food cart at the Alberta Carts pod blending Eastern European and Latin American cuisines, closed permanently after inventive dishes such as pork chorizo pierogi topped with cotija, beef borscht tacos, and wild mushroom stroganoff with chile-braised chicken (with vegan counterparts available) failed to sustain the business; owner Sasanna Babashoff thanked supporters for trying something new." - Janey Wong
"I’m intrigued by Alberta Carts, located across from the new SolTerra hotel and wellness center; the pod’s build-out timing is TBA, but Poppyseed has been open since June and Rusa is slated to open in August, with more carts coming on a rolling basis. Poppyseed — run by Le Pigeon alumnus Tim Willis and pastry chef Lissette Morales Willis — offers seasonally driven items like albacore tuna burgers and maitake mushroom melts, while Rusa melds Eastern European and Latin American flavors with dishes such as chorizo pierogi and stroganoff tamales; being across the street from SolTerra’s 100-room hotel with its two-story solarium, Moroccan pool, garden with sauna and walk-through waterfall, and subterranean cenote with a mineral pool makes the location especially appealing." - Janey Wong
