Alcove Market absolutely blew us away. Hands down the best hamburger in Charleston—perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. The fried chicken sandwich? Also top-tier. Crispy, tender, and just the right amount of kick. We also tried the wraps and they were fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. And let’s talk about the wine prices—unbelievably reasonable. It’s rare to find a place where you can grab a great glass without breaking the bank. On top of all that, the service was warm, welcoming, and fast. This place is a gem—a must-not-miss when you're in Charleston. Can't wait to go back. Oh, and DOG FRIENDLY patio! Go here.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely loved my experience at Alcove Market! Tucked away on Broad Street, this place feels like a true hidden gem in downtown Charleston. I tried the Koji Burger and the Turkey Avocado Wrap—both were outstanding in their own ways. The Koji Burger was one of the most flavorful burgers I’ve had in a long time. The patty was juicy and rich with umami flavor, and the toppings were fresh and well-balanced. It’s clear they put thought into every element of the burger—it’s not your average sandwich! The Turkey Avocado Wrap was just as impressive—light, refreshing, and full of flavor. The wrap itself was soft and held together well, and the turkey was high quality. The creamy avocado, fresh greens, and subtle seasoning made it the perfect choice if you're looking for something a bit lighter but still satisfying. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the service was quick without feeling rushed. The space has a clean, modern vibe that makes it great for grabbing a bite, catching up with a friend, or even working for a bit if you’re on the go. Highly recommend Alcove Market if you’re looking for quality food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Charleston!

This place was great when they first opened but portion sizes are SHRINKING. This $10 avocado toast was a sliver of food. Pretty disappointing. Also used to have better seating and was pet friendly.

Love Love Love the Atmosphere of the restaurant! The food was really good as well! We ordered the Soba Noodles for this hot summer day and a turkey avocado wrap which both tasted phenomenal! Highly recommend checking the Alcove Market out when you’re in town!

It's clean inside but there isn't much seating. We decided to sit outside because I have my 1 year old. There are several very large umbrellas which was nice but it was a very hot day. My friend and I both got the chicken sandwich. I got mine on GF bread. It was good but not excellent. A tad bit on the expensive side. I would come again. It's a great place for a visit before or after a walk around Colonial Lake.

Very cool space. Tons of inside seating, it’s light and bright and clean. Tables outside with umbrellas. They have a great grab and go station, juices, smoothies and coffees. Staff is friendly and fast

Google
Paid $8 ($10 if you include tip) for 2 double shots of espresso. I was a barista for years and charging $4 for a double shot is borderline criminal. I probably wouldn't be writing this review if the shots were good, but there wasn't even a crema on either (attaching a photo for reference). If you're charging $4 for a double shot, it better be PERFECT. It was nasty. The only reason I'm not leaving only 1 star is because the girl working the register was lovely. I have been to Alcove many times, always hoping that my experience will be better. It never is. This was my last visit. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Yelp
Came with a large group, with kids. Waitresses were fantastic in dealing with us. lol. Food was great and we left so happy and full! Can't wait to try to prepared frozen foods we bought at the market for a dinner.

Yelp
We stopped at Alcove Market on my way to an appointment. I had the kale Caesar salad and my bf had the leafy greens salad both served with chicken. The ingredients were so tasty and fresh. I love the avocado, chicken and seed pairing. The Caesar dressing was light, so it didn't overpower the other ingredients. My bf enjoyed his leafy greens paired with dried cranberries, almonds and quinoa. We also split the Olipop probiotic cream soda and it was delicious. A classy, well decorated restaurant with outdoor seating, which enables you to take in scenic views of the Ashley River. The woman who took our order was extremely friendly and brought our food out for us. We will certainly be back to try other items on the menu. There were so many mouthwatering and healthy choices.

Yelp
Ordered breakfast and coffee for the family. The coffee order came in a little messed up, so I called to let them know. I was greeted by the hostess. When I asked to speak to a manager, she immediately changed her tone and proceeded to NOT put me on mute (although she likely thought she did). What was said was rude--definitely not something meant for me to hear. The phone was then placed on hold until the manager answered. At that point, I didn't even care about the messed-up coffee order. When I expressed my absolute disgust with their customer service and told the manager she should properly train her staff on how to mute the phone before talking badly about a customer calling with a complaint, she responded by saying, "My staff are trained to my standards," and then hung up the phone. Pathetic. This used to be a weekly Uber Eats spot for me, but Alcove has lost my business!

Yelp
An upscale shop which is part of a large development towards the southern end of Charleston. I ordered takeout and found it ready on my arrival. However, the falafel wrap I ordered didn't look anywhere near as impressive as the one posted here previously. It came with some kettle chips and don't get me wrong it was tasty falafel, but also pricey. There's a time and a place for it, for sure, but if my goal was to get the best falafel I'd go somewhere cheaper, and if I wanted a fancy food outlet and marketplace, Mercantile and Mash had this place beat by far on selection, ambiance, and the quality of food.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the outdoor seating. Good, relaxing soft seating with umbrellas to get some shade. My iced matcha latte was delicious and it came out super quick. The staff was very nice and overall it was a quick, relaxing experience. My friend loved her iced chai latte too

Yelp
Alcove just turned one and having this market has been such a fun add on to the downtown Charleston area. The location is perfect for the concept, connected to the jasper, you have colonial lake right there so the perfect walk to end an amazing meal or grab a coffee to go on the walk around the lake. They have little trinkets and items to buy but also an amazing menu to choose from. A classic for me is the avacado toast the pickled onions are something I crave on a classic avacado toast, it's definitely filling. I've also tried their breakfast burrito which has become a new favorite. The chorizo is fire and the right about of spice, ate it all and it was huge. I bring a friend every time I come. A fan favorite is also the breakfast sandwich which you can specialize! They have a couple seating in side but a patio with umbrellas. It does get busy but it has a quick turn over. The chai latte is amazing I've gotten it a few times now and will be back for more of it. Perfect blend in it, they have lots of milk or non dairy choices but I usually get it with 2%.

Yelp
Alcove Market is a gourmet market and cafe that has recently opened in the Harleston Village area of downtown Charleston...the business is open for breakfast and lunch and will serve fresh salads and sandwiches. This type of establishment has been long awaited for and will be a great addition to the Beach Company's main offices and The Jasper Apartments. The cafe style environment features freshly prepared items as well as "grab and go" items. Tables and booths ~ cafe style~ line the inside in the event you would like to have more of a leisurely breakfast or lunch. There is a large open and airy outdoor patio with plenty of tables. Alcove Market is a fine place for gathering with friends/ meeting for a quiet business lunch /or for "on-the-run" quick take-out. A nice part about this eatery is that it is off the beaten track and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and all that goes along with that scene ...namely the busyness and noise of the main districts downtown and the inconvenience of having to find a parking space!!! Alcove Market is branding itself as a "gourmet market" as well and has included a retail section offering high quality specialty foods and an ample selection of international wines for sale. The design space was done by an award winning NYC based architectural and interior design firm so I am eager to stop by and enjoy all that Alcove Market & Cafe has to offer and to welcome this new business to the Charleston food and beverage community! Look for Alcove Market on the ground floor at 310 Broad Street, Suite 155. Parking is plentiful along Barre Street. Hours: 7am-7pm. *Food photos to follow after opening day on February 8,2023. **New updated photos as of February 9,2023.

Yelp
Alcove is located on the side of The Jasper. It's a convenient stop if you're in the Colonial Lake area. It has coffee, breakfast and lunch food, and some to-go options/some groceries as well. It has both indoor and outdoor seating and it is dog friendly! It reminds me a lot of Fox Trot for those of you familiar with that one (DC, Dallas, Austin, Chicago areas). We stopped here for lunch the other day and got the winter greens salad (winter greens, strawberries, walnuts, Gorgonzola, creamy dill dressing) with crispy tofu and the Colonial Lake sandwich. The bacon jam on the sandwich was very good. The salad felt a little expensive for what it was, but I am glad they had tofu as an option for protein and it was very crispy. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way necessarily, but it definitely satisfies a craving for a healthy breakfast/lunch spot close to Colonial Lake. Mid day on a weekday there was some seating left both indoor and outdoor but also enough people that it felt lively. The staff members working that day were very kind and friendly. They brought the food out to us when we were seated outside.

Yelp
this is the place we needed, but definitely don't deserve. Alcove is THE SPOT. first off, Alcove is walking distance from my house, so yeah, i think i go at least once a week now. me and my roomies frequently do our girl gab catch ups here. my gal pal roomie does not look very happy here but that quickly changed after she got her morning coffee. Their lattes are smackin, and I love that they even have a large size- because who ever really gets enough coffee in the morning? okay my next rave is the coffee cake. it is absolutely delectable and i almost cried the first time i had it. I am on a sugar detox and i miss eating this divine pastry with my morning coffee. why is it so good?? You think you're just getting a run of the mill coffee cake but, NO, it's cream filled. I mean c'mon. staff here is really nice and they always bring my coffee out to me with a smile. everyone should be smiled at once a day i think. Love it!!!

Yelp
Cute spot. Convenient location with a lot of space. I purchased 1 juice and a salad with chicken and it was $36... which is far too high. I understand they are playing off of the location, but in my opinion it is priced too high for what's offered. As for quality of the food ... the juice was good. A normal juice. The salad was good - however, there were a ton of croutons and not much chicken at all. In addition, it seems like there was some kind of seasoning on it (almost seemed like everything but the bagel seasoning), but there was way too much and it was super salty. Croutons didn't have flavor. A couple tiny pieces of avocado Service was fine. You just order at the counter, they give you a number, and then bring your food to you when it's ready. Pretty cut and dry.

Yelp
Cutest market / cafe ever! I went to Pilates next door and popped in for a water and snack after and alcove was perfect for that! The staff was so friendly and the lemon poppy seed muffin I had was incredible. It was a cafe and a market that sold healthy snacks, juices, drinks, wine and craft beer - it would be the perfect place to stop to pick up items for a picnic!

Yelp
So excited that the Alcove Market is here in the Jasper. I work upstairs, so it's nice to come down and grab a bite or drink while not having to leave the building or have it dashed to my door. Today I ordered the kale Caesar salad. No picture, but I should've because it was pretty epic. I've never eaten kale on purpose, but this time I made myself do it and really enjoyed it. Salad had plenty of dressing, lightly coating the kale, avocado chunks, parmesan cheese, croutons, and everything spices that you'd normally see on a bagel. So good. I'd eat it again, but don't tell anyone I said that I liked the kale.

Yelp
Food was very good. We missed breakfast by arriving at 11:30 am. Several nice salads to choose from. Counter service was efficient. A newer place built into The Jasper building. Limited inside seating and a good amount of outside seating. On Broad so there is some traffic but you sit off the road and you can see the Ashley River withe sailboats passing for a pleasant ambiance.

Yelp
Ordered the El Padre breakfast burrito which was good, but overpriced for the small portion. I also got the coffee cake (warmed up!) which was really good.

Yelp
A much needed cafe in Harleston Village! It is below the Jasper and across from Colonial lake. Coffee is delicious and they have dairy alternatives. The food is primarily vegetarian and vegan. Staff has always been nice. Also some food to grab- wine, cheese, pastas. Great addition to the neighborhood. Indoor and outdoor seating and parking in the garage.

Mary L.

Yelp
Food is very tasty and light, the staff is very friendly and helpful and provides excellence service, it would be the perfect place for a coffee and lunch! Ambiance is fresh and bright.

Yelp
We live in the neighborhood and so happy this spot opened up. Makes for a great stop when going on a long walk by the water!
