New Charleston Cafe Alcove Market Open Now | Eater Carolinas

"I was drawn to a new, more casual addition to the Easton Porter Group’s Charleston portfolio that opened today at 320 Broad Street: Alcove Market, a bright cafe on the first floor of the Jasper luxury apartment complex between Colonial Lake and the harbor. The space feels airy and calm, with large windows facing Broad Street, lots of greenery hanging from the ceiling, most walls painted a soothing blue, shelves stocked with dry goods and merchandise, and a patio dotted with garden tables and umbrellas. The cafe serves breakfast and lunch (plus coffee, craft beer, wines, and fresh-pressed juices) and includes a pantry stocked with items like Rio Bertolini’s ravioli, cocktail olives, and other gourmet snacks. 2022 James Beard semifinalist Orlando Pagán of Wild Common created the menu with health and well-being in mind, and the offerings reflect that balance: avocado toast on Charleston Gold rice bread, a quinoa bowl with green goddess dressing, a spectacular breakfast muffin stuffed with a poached egg (a little fine-dining touch), and a fried chicken biscuit with gravy for those wanting something heartier.
