Aleli Mexican Restaurant

First thing you notice is how exceptionally clean the restaurant is. It's always nice to eat somewhere that you can tell the owners and staff care about and respect. The guac was really well done and the chips also tasted freshly made. The fish taco is a must and the burrito while not my favorite still tasted very fresh and clean. Definitely plan to make another visit.

Been coming here for atleast 4 years. Excellent quality EVERY TIME! Menu has changed and so many delicious new things. vegan, gluten free options. Ive had numerous friend come and try the fish taco, chicken burrito and they always dance and seem to be in love! I loved the Tamale addition to the menu. And Drink!!! Theres a really nice pink drink/collorada.

Been coming here for a while now and it has never disappointed me. Good food great staff and good service. Their fish taco is good, agua chile, flautas de pollo his drinks are great and the staff is amazing. There walnut cheese cake is really good

Update: still amazingly fresh and delicious. Strong quality drinks. Always fresh and flavorful--presentation on point. I've dined here since the pandemic, and the quality has always been excellent. Ambiance is so peaceful and vibrant. The owners of this business are incredibly humble. They had to push their grand opening once the pandemic hit but I'm glad they persevered. If you're surprised it's a quiet spot, enjoy it while it lasts. Every dish is made delicately and bursting with flavour. And forgot to mention: ample vegan and gluten free options

Absolutely delicious experience every time we go there. A gem in the heart of Bay Ridge. Some of our favorite dishes are fish tacos, octopus appetizer, street corn, shrimp quesadillas and high quality drinks. Pleasant atmosphere, excellent service, great music, this is our go to for Mexican food!

Spacious, clean smiling staff and the food is fantastic! Fresh, tasty and unique menu. Not a ridiculously large menu which I appreciate and enough unique items to make it a must come back type of place . Congrats!

Oh my God sooooo freaking good!!! This has got to be one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants I’ve tried here in bay ridge. Everything was so flavorful and beautifully presented. Nice atmosphere cool waiters! 10/10 try it ASAP they have taco Tuesday specials and Margaritas for Thursdays.

Very cute place. Nothing fancy just a nice clean place not huge menu but more than enough to choose from. Guacamole and octopus tostada were delicious. We tried a variety of tacos , all delicious. Margaritas were yummy also, Looking forward to going again.

Aleli has some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. Their haapy hour is great and the drinks are strong. Highly recommend the chicken and chorizo tacos.

Wow ... ordered from here based on reviews and boy was I impressed. First off delivery came fast. Food was still warm. I opened the boxes and the colors and arrangement took my breath away. Food was very fresh and very flavorful. You could taste the fresh cilantro, onion and seasoning. I love that the chicken in the taco and burrito were pre-seasoned. The flavor exploded in your mouth. The pulpo tostada was fun but I will probably stick to the tacos. This will be my new spot for Mexican in bay ridge. Also they charge extra for side sauce but they give you a good portion and wow there is actually flavor. I'm sorry to everyone complaining about prices. I actually think prices are very reasonable- and portions are actually large.

Sadly, the food has gotten really inconsistent here. I left a rave review when they opened because it started out so amazingly good! The guac still rocks, but I'm finding that the dishes don't wow me like they used to, and my family is feeling that way, too. Some flavors have changed, like in the veggie burrito, and the quesadillas (both main and kid's) have been coming out charred in a not tasty way. I really hope they get the cooking back to how it was because I really like them!

Aleli is fine Mexican dining with beautiful presentation and a mixologist that makes incredible cocktails. The service was kind, quick and attentive. The food was beautiful visually, and also positively delicious. Everything from the appetizers, the main course and dessert were nothing short of perfection. The ambiance is lacking, which is fine, but for the prices I'd expect some more depth in their interior design. They are very new though, and we were there for the food, not ambiance, and they surely delivered. I highly recommended Aleli for fine Mexican dining.

Local family spot with great portion sizes and flavors. The tacos are a must get and the burritos are so so big. I think the food is great and their drinks were strong too. Really enjoyed my pink cactus drink.

Definitely felt it leans toward of the swankier spots I've patroned in Mexico City, with a somewhat more 'refined' menu and presentation, and noticeably missing some of the more 'apparent' Mexican families you'd be side-by-side with at the spots in the lower 70s. There are some complaints that the prices are a bit higher, which is only sort of true, but honestly the product is just different, perhaps new to this neighborhood, and frankly welcome to expand everyone's horizons. Decor is decent (they mostly kept the facade of the old law offices) though the interior is pretty bare bones, especially given the well-socially-distanced tables. Proprietors are friendly. Would come back.

Stoped by with my coworker after our shift today , food and drinks 10/10!!!! Place is clean cute and staff is friendly and attentive. Definitely a hidden gem in bay ridge ... will be back for sure ! Xoxo

Amazing food. Best chicken I've had in a long time. By far. Every thing was exceptional. The server was on point and the drinks were spot on perfectly mixed. I recommended this Mexican restaurant to anyone!

This place was recommended by some good friends who live in the area so we decided to give it a try. I believe we ordered from GrubHub and my husband went to pick it up. I got the octopus tostada and it was so yummy! The octopus was tender and not rubbery, the crisp on the bottom was perfect and the flavors were great! I also got the seafood rice dish which was good as well, though the peas were not cooked all the way and were hard and crunchy so I picked them out. My husband got a chicken burrito and liked it as well. The Mexican corn was not a get-again for me. Overall the food was really tasty, but the prices seemed a bit expensive and I wasn't full after my seafood rice and octopus tostada. I would come back again, but will try something else and hope it's more filling!

Came in on a quiet Saturday and was immediately impressed with the modern decor of this place. It felt like more of a cafe vibe which is always nice. I came in with great expectations due to the reviews and man they did not disappoint. I decided to go for the steak, fish, and chorizo taco. All of them were amazingly flavorful, but my favorite has to be the fish taco. The batter was light and crispy, the fish was perfectly moist and the pickled veggies definitely balanced it all out. Due to all the pictures about the octopus tostado, I had to try it for myself. They were definitely very generous with the amount of octopus they give and it was cooked to perfection. Octopus is one of those things that's easy to overcook and mess up, which results in a rubbery texture. I'm glad they know how to handle their octopus. It paired perfectly with the guac and toasty tortilla, I highly recommend it to anyone who decides to give this place a try.

What an amazing gem in Bay Ridge! Very friendly staff & the restaurant was clean enough that we felt comfortable dining indoors. My husband & I walked in to order takeout but we noticed their layout and decided to dine-in instead. Tables were definitely spaced more than 6 feet apart. They follow NYS guidelines of temperate check and customer tracing. The corn on the cob was one of our favorites. One of the best "Mexican" style corn I've had. $5.50 per corn, so the pricing is on the higher end for sure. $3.75 per taco. The fish taco was crispy & tasty. We are looking forward to our next meal here!

Work just makes you crave tacos. I came here one afternoon for lunch and ordered a chicken, chorizo, and fish taco to go. All three were full of flavor, but man, the fish taco came bursting out with a tangy, crunchy taste. Would definitely come here again, but personally I'd skip the chorizo as it was too salty for my taste.

Had dinner with friends last evening here. Everything was delicious and not your run of the mill Mexican food. Cocktails were also excellent. Hadn't eaten here in awhile and really enjoyed this family centric "new" Mexican restaurant.

Stopped by recently during the lock down and picked up 2 tacos to go, for only $3.75 each. One chicken, one pork. While it did take a while to prepare (10+ mins) it was WELL worth the wait. The gentleman working the counter was friendly and apologized for the short wait. These are really BIG for the price and the freshness and quality of the ingredients were unique and flavorful. I will be back...in fact, I went back the next day, but was too early at 11am.... but that's proof enough. So happy to have this place in Bay Ridge, and it's worth traveling to from other parts of the city!

I had dinner this evening (sat night) with my family - 5 of us total and everything was delicious. We almost had the whole place to ourselves for the entire evening - which was surprising because this place should be packed. Please support our local places! Drinks, food, service - all top notch!

Food made with love and it shows! Everything here is super fresh and delicious. Although the menu may seem small at first glance everything here is a hit. Stopped in for dinner and got a whole feast. Started off with the octopus tostada which was absolutely excellent. They don't skimp on the octopus either. The mix of crunchy with the seafood and guacamole is awesome and probably my favorite. We also got the quesadillas with mushrooms and squash, not a combo I would usually think of but we loved it. Next we got the pork, steak and fish tacos. All were great but my favorite was the fish. Very light and airy batter and fry and paired perfectly with the sauce and pickled onions. Wonderful. My dad also got the seafood rice which was also super flavorful and tasty with shrimp and calamari. Overall a great experience with wonderful service. Looking forward to being back.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Bay Ridge!!!! I've been to all the neighborhood's Ho'Brah, Las Magaritas, Blue Agave etc and hands down this restaurant serves the highest quality and authentic Mexican food. We have nearly tried everything on their menu so far and every dish has been on point. Plus I love how they have tamper evident on the takeouts so you know it hasn't been compromised. Their location isn't the most visible but don't pass this little tasty gem!

We had chicken adobado, short rib quesadilla and the chicken mole. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. This food was complex and beautifully seasoned.

We only had tacos but they were super flavorful! We had carnitas, chorizo and the fish, and every one was fresh and delicious. Service was very friendly. Looking forward to going at happy hour for Margaritas.

Very good, fresh Mexican food and a great addition to the neighborhood. The drinks were delicious and you can tell everything is made from scratch. I took off a star for most of the items being a la carte - it would be great if their entrees included a side of rice and beans or vegetables. I would also highly recommend that they change the lighting- its very bright inside and feels more like a counter service restaurant so please dim the lights a little-then the ambiance would be perfect!! Will be back!

It's my favorite restaurant in Bay Ridge. I just wish that they changed the menu more often or had specials of the day. It's all very good here, just the short rib quesadilla is too greasy for me. My current fave is the shrimp quesadilla. The shrimp are large and well cooked. You can't go wrong with the fish tacos or the chicken enchiladas in red mole either.

All I can say is wow!! Food Is delicious!! I walked by this restaurant everyday and never thought to stop in because the food in Bay Ridge is hit or miss. I was pleasantly surprised and I'm so happy that I found this gem! I had fish taco, steak taco and chicken taco - all delicious!! Also ordered chips and guac which was also really good. This is def a must try if you are in Bay Ridge. The Husband and I have officially deemed this as our go to Mexican restaurant in Bay Ridge!

There's something about a great fish taco- the slight crunch of perfectly fried fish, still crispy, the light tang of lime juice. Each bite, separated by little dollops from my side of well-made guacamole, was heavenly. Pork taco also good, the shreds of pork shoulder with good bite and flavor. Their corn on the cob is also perfect. Exactly what I look for. Well coated with cotija and other spices and sauce. Mmm. Their chef knows what he or she is doing!

This place is soooooooo good! The food is fresh and flavors are vibrant. From the apps, to the quesadillas made with masa everything was superb. Takeout from them was packaged very nicely. Had dined in their sidewalk cafe as well and it didn't disappoint.

I wanted to try this restaurant, however the business hours need to be updated. They don't open until 4pm on Tuesday. Update your business hours to avoid confusion.

This is a fantastic addition to Bay Ridge's Mexican dining scene! Aleli has a small(ish) but thoughtful menu that hits all the right points (though I would love to see a vegetarian taco option). A friend and I went tonight and I had the vegetables with pipian verde entree (it's vegan) and my friend had the fish tacos. We split the spice guacamole. Everything was fantastic. My vegetable dish was huge and filled with a nice assortment of vegetables, all perfectly cooked. The sauce was excellent. My friend enjoyed her tacos. The guacamole was a nice change from your standard fare. It's refreshing to see a restaurant focus on a few interesting dishes and making them well instead of a menu with 60 items that are on the menu of a seemingly a million places. Service was great. Currently it's BYOB until the restaurant gets their liquor license. Looking at the menu of the owner's other restaurant in Bushwick, the cocktails promise to be excellent. YUM. Such a great addition to 3rd Ave!! Chic space, tasty, original, fresh food, and friendly staff. Definitely fills a hole in the local restaurant scene. Great place to eat with friends, bring a date. I even brought the kids, though there is no dedicated kids menu. My 7 year old was a big fan of the tacos and the side of rice and beans. My only constructive criticism is that the air circ system could filter out the cooking smells a bit better, but it's not a deal breaker. My party of five had an excellent first experience and I will be back one million times. Best Mex I've found in the area, and the only innovative Mex for sure.

the food is good, but WAY overpriced for what it is. it is standard takeout quality mexican food in bay ridge, yet they charge prices like $16 for chicken soup!!! and $17 for chicken enchiladas with mole...when the mole is FINE at best. prices need to come down. this is bay ridge...get real.

We just love the food! It's fresh and delicious. We regularly have Aleli's veggie and chorizo burritos and really like their chips and guacamole. Also really enjoy the chicken adobado and vegetables with Pipian sauce. For a simple but wonderful soup, the chicken vegetable can't be best. So glad to have Aleli nearby!

Unfortunately this will be a bad review ... we ordered from this place at least 20 times since they opened . Each time we tried to give them a 2nd chance , we cook a lot . So, when we had a long day and need a break we order out . 1st things 1st if you plan on ordering tacos they will fall apart each and every time , We have at least ordered tacos 10 times and each and every time they just fall apart because they only use one tortilla . They charge you a dollar for a little side of sour cream which is clearly cheap or cut with water . They also charge a dollar for a little tiny thing of green sauce which you should technically get with your food . The Chorizo is absolutely disgusting . It tastes like canned meat , they melt 1 lbs of some kind of cheap cheese in their burritos , which make it taste like cheese fries. The guacamole is 13 dollars and cut with sour cream! Anything vegetable is ok) so you will pay out the nose for veggies . Unfortunately there is not a single good mexican restaurant in bay ridge and thats a fact , unless you are used to fast/crappy mexican . A message to the owner : We aren't stupid Gringos as you may think, We actually know the difference between good and bad Mexican food . Please improve it because we would love to spend our money with you .

Entering I thought it was going to American Mexican food, but when I ordered everything was so different from what I expected. I'm so delighted they added this spot, it's definitely my go to spot!

Insanely good. Elote was peak. Fish tacos were amazing. Guacamole was perfect. And this was via delivery. Can't wait to visit the spot in person.

Fantastico, the owner has another place in my neighborhood which is also amazing, so once we found out that this place opened we had to check it out. Did not disappoint, it helps that we became friendly with the owner, however, if are looking for something different than your typical Mexican food, please come and enjoy. Bay Ridge is lucky to have Aleli!!

Omg where do I start? Tacos were all amazing- fish, steak and chicken. Octopus tostada was to die for and guac of course was great! Drinks were strong and yummy. Def a fire place to come eat and try out.

Outrageously good. Just the knife skills alone showcased in many of the dishes were Michelin Level. One of the best Margaritas, made with fresh lime, etc.... it's seriously one of the best Mexican Kitchens in NYC for the type of food they are doing. We're gonna be regulars for sure!!!! So glad to have another high-quality restaurant nearby. AND, so freaking affordable we wondered how they will stay open. One word! Go!!!!!!!
