"This massive Sunnyside brewery is the perfect middle ground between hanging out in a friend’s garage and hanging out in an airplane hanger. There’s lots of picnic-table seating, arcade games, and projectors for sports. Their double dry-hopped IPA Death To Ego, with tropical fruit, plenty of hops, and a spicy finish, is always our first pour. Alewife regularly hosts food trucks and pop-ups like Arepaz Colombianas and Arellano Pandesal, plus a truly impressive variety of events: salsa dancing lessons, Dungeons & Dragons, and even the occasional indie wrestling show (ring and all)." - molly fitzpatrick, bryan kim, willa moore, will hartman, neha talreja

"A local brewery in Sunnyside that previously served as a pick-up location for Kora's online orders before the bakery opened its permanent location." - Bettina Makalintal
"Wine available for curbside pick-up. Call 718-937-7494 to place an order. Check their Instagram for more information." - nikko duren
"Now that Alewife moved from Long Island City to Sunnyside in 2020, they have a new sidewalk patio with plenty of outdoor seating for you, your dog, your baby, and maybe even a few friends. You can try around 30 draft beers here, including a bunch they brew themselves, and if you stop by over the weekend you might catch a food truck parked out front. Check their Instagram before you arrive for the latest updates, but in the past food vendors have served everything from lobster rolls and birria tacos to pastrami sandwiches and empanadas." - nikko duren
"If you like to ask bartenders about IBUs but your friends order whatever tallboy is tallest, go to Alewife in Long Island City. While they bet light beers on games of pool and pinball, you can try some of the nearly 30 draft beers, including a bunch they brew themselves, like the We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat (32 IBUs) or the Don’t Disturb My Friend, He’s Dead Tired (56 IBUs)." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, matt tervooren
