Yelp
I'd guess as a bar, this place is fine, but for dinner, I do not recommend. The place was fairly busy on a Monday night, as it was Restaurant Week, so I understand the long wait for the food. Not a big deal. All of staff we interacted with, especially our main server, were friendly and polite, though could be a bit more polished. My friend and I couldn't hear each other above the loud music, despite being in the dining section.
I ordered the Fruh Kolsch, the potato pancakes, and chicken schnitzel. I liked the beer, but it wasn't served as a half liter, as it was supposed to be per the menu. I also asked my server about my favorite German beer, and he wasn't familiar, which is fine, but didn't even offer to check with the bartender to see if there was something similar.
My potato pancakes were excellent, but initially, they came out with sour cream, which I had asked to be removed. By the time the second order came out, we'd already been served our entrees for a while. Our server did offer a dessert, but I declined. I love schnitzel, but this was not good. It was served with a horrifying gray gravy that looked canned and was barely heated. I normally do not describe food as gross, but this was. Fries were very good. Cabbage appeared to be sweet and sour cabbage, which I didn't realize as it is not stated on the menu, and though cabbage is favorite vegetable, I could not eat it. So ate two potato pancakes, some fries, and a little bit of chicken, leaving most of the food on the plate. My friend liked her goulash appetizer, but also didn't really care for her currywurst and didn't eat much.
I was so excited because I enjoy German cuisine, but will not be returning.
