Alex's Kitchen

Visited back in January. Family recommended this place for my birthday - NOT TO SOUND UNGRATEFUL but honestly was quite a nightmarish experience. We made a booking, arrived 5 min early but still they made us wait 25 minutes to be seated while seating literally everyone else but us. Once seated, no one served us for like another 5 minutes. The vibe was also super chaotic, and LOUD - like couldn’t have a normal conversation without shouting. Maybe they were understaffed? Everything made me super irritated so I had to get a g&t after that, luckily they made it a double. Food was mid at best. Salmon croquettes had no taste of salmon at all. Or any taste of fish for that matter. Of the entreés we ordered I only liked 2/4. Their signature pasta snd seafood stew was good and quite worth it. Scallops and seafood pasta was pretty boring. I appreciate that perhaps it was a busy night and they were just super understaffed. I really tried to enjoy my visit but overall a bit unhappy that I gave this place my time and money.

I have been a long time customer of this place and loved it. Took my wife and kids to get a couple steaks. The gentleman who seated us aka server was rude from the beginning. I ordered a filet steak medium for my wife. It come out cremated. So I called them to look at it manager came and agreed. They scooped off the sides and took the steak back. When they brought the new steak the guy lingered over her shoulder to see if it was satisfactory. To our surprise it was now alive I mean had a heart beat. This think was blued not medium. The manager came and said they would take it off the ticket as if a favor was given. I told them not to worry about it and took the wife and kids to get crab. It’s a shame I thought our neighborhood finally got the restaurant it deserves I guess not.

Brought clients to this restaurant today 1/28/26 for lunch. Wanted to try something different than the noisy franchised un-imaginative menus of others. Our food was freshly prepared, absolutely delicious. I had the Shrimp Risotto. Big plump shrimp on tasty corn risotto, julienne vegetables, wine sauce. Garlic bread so good also. Client had Pasta Alex, he said was so good. Staff very attentive, but not overly. The atmosphere, little chandeliers, lovely tables with white cloth napkins. Don't let the strip mall exterior throw you. Walk into another world of great food. They serve lunch then close at 3pm, then reopen for dinner at 5pm. Full bar, and selection of wines. Didn't have room for desserts but looked wonderful also. Go and try it for yourself.

Alex’s has become our new FAV! Went for a family dinner after being recommended by a friend and I must say it was more than what we expected. High quality service and food. The menu options were endless and flavorful. The drinks were on point just as well as the deserts. We opted for the Filet mignon, chicken parm, snapper, fried chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese for the kiddos who wanted a second order. Will make this a regular outing to try the entire menu. Customer service was at an all time high. Food was prepared fast and drinks were refilled without asking. If you love Italian this is your new favorite restaurant. Thank me later. Oh and please order the garlic bread. You won’t regret it.

The food is ok and no surprise for me, but the plate is warm that can keep the food not cold quickly.

This was our first visit after reading about the restaurant in a local newspaper. My Date Night companion and I started with drinks. She had a Bourbon De Mure and I the Colonel Taylor Rye over a big rock. Our starters included the well made Apple Salad and meatballs & polenta. The meatballs were quiet good and served at a nicely warmed temp. Our mains consisted of Snapper for her, Ciopinno (fish stew) for me. Her snapper was grilled perfectly and was a meaty portion. My Ciopinno came out of the kitchen boiling hot, burned my tongue. It was tasty, soupy with flavor but a bit disappointing on the portion of protein. She endulged in a apple crostata. It looked great, she ate half and was done. The restaurant was mostly empty at 6:30 but by 7:30 almost all the tables were full and the noise level had increased. 4.0/5 syds #howmanysyds

Upscale dining with great food and service. The interior has a nice dim lit theme with soft upbeat music. They offer wine and spirits that go well with the menu. Plenty of parking available. Our table ordered a range of items and everything tasted freshly made, including the deserts. I would definitely say it's worth a try to anyone skeptical about its location.

What has happened to Alex's Kitchen?! Two years ago, the food and service was outstanding. Tonight, the chicken alfredo was insipid and dry. I asked for extra sauce because it was so dry, and they charged me for it! We were a party of fourteen and our ticket came already including a gratuity of 25% for substandard service. Two years ago, I was impressed enough with the food to brave the prices. It won't happen again.

Super friendly staff and bartender. Food was excellent. The fried green tomato was the only dish I wasn't really a fan of. The sauce was great but I wished they slice the tomatoes thinner and then fry it, the only place I've had good fried green tomatoes was rouxpour, and they don't serve it anymore . The other dishes we ordered were amazing. We had the seafood pasta, the snapper, Brussels sprouts, and the waygu burger, the carrot cake and chocolate cake.

This place was the best food I've had. We came in a little bit before they had closed and they were super kind and quick. The salad was SO delicious and I ate it so fast. Our food was so good and we were honestly in love. The place was very cute and more fancy I think but we were definitely in casual outfits. If we are ever in the area we WILL be stopping back.

My great aunt and her sister in law come here once a month! They are treated so well, staff is friendly, remembers their order and remains very attentive.

food is great. service is nice. ambiance is nice. will have to come back the rest of the menu but the salads and empanada was so good!

Ray was our server who is evidently brand new, but he was just the right level of attentive! This was our first visit but we will be back. The restaurant was small but tables were nicely spaced so you don't feel on top of others and the tables were a little larger I felt. Atmosphere was nice! I would imagine if it was full it would be noisy but we arrived a little after 5 and there were maybe 5 tables and a few at the bar. My husband got the lobster bisque and really enjoyed it. I had the chicken piccata and it was amazing! The flavor of the chicken and sauce was very bright and tasty. My husband got the pasta Alex which has crab and sausage, he said it was very good and filling. We both had leftovers! We also enjoyed the complimentary bread and oil. Overall a great experience, nice find without the drive. Prices are also very reasonable.

Sea bass was so good... it was cooked perfectly. It had a crust on outside that was so good & the inside was just buttery like a well cooked sea bass should be. It was lightly seasoned so if you only ate the sea bass by itself you could say it wasn't seasoned enough. However, with the fish sitting on top of grilled vegetables (instead of risotto per the menu) and root veggies, plus the sauce, the flavors complement each other so well. Also it was a nice portion size. I ate every morsel & I was full. Full bar & decent wine list by glass & by bottle. Wine bottles are poured into a nice glass carafe & placed on the table. Server was attentive. Casual decor inside, yet had table cloths. Lots of art pics on the walls. This is a great neighborhood dining spot.

We have dined here several times and it's a hidden treasure that you can enjoy a culinary experience like this without having to go into Houston proper. The food, the service, and the ambiance are unexpected in this shopping center location. Prices are very reasonable and there's lots of parking too!

Family of 5 Sunday dinner. We truly enjoyed our cocktails. Wine, and family meals- Fried Calamari shared- yummy! Eggplant parmesan. Steak Filet. Chicken piccata. The waiter and chef were very receptive to order requests. Can't wait for the leftovers.

Really very, very good and highly recommend. This is a cute little place located at the end of a strip center. They have adorable chandeliers, a small bar area and a few televisions. I ordered the Hangar Steak, with fries and roasted brussel sprouts (which were fabulous and the only ones I have found that I loved...thus far). The steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare and was delicious! Oh, and the bread and olive oil were also super on point! Drinks were good and service impeccable. I will definitely return soon!

I don't know what happened but my dish was salty as heck. Everyone else I was with I tasted it and it was good except mine. I didn't want to tell them but I should have.

I absolutely love Alex's Kitchen. Discovered this spot a couple years back. I'd describe it as "casual fine dining" within the neighborhood in Missouri City. From the exterior, it is very unassuming. Once you enter, it's like a nice cozy sit-down restaurant that is not too formal, but not too casual. I'd say this would be a great date spot, while also being family friendly. Service is always the best, attentive, courteous and accommodating. We just mentioned that our kids would share the ravioli and they just brought it out on two separate plates. That was a very nice touch. My favorite go-to is the Pasta Alex and my bride loves the Cioppino, which is a seafood stew. The kiddos love the Braised Beef Short Rib Ravioli. Parking is ample and convenient. The only issue is it's a quaint place and not too large, so it gets quite busy during prime time. We tend to go earlier with the kids in tow anyway, so we've never had to wait. I cannot recommend Alex's enough. Support local, support the neighborhood, support good food.

Best kept secret in Missouri City. Great family run restaurant. Great people. And most importantly, Great food. They even have a great wine and tequila selection. Our family has been going there for 3 or 4 years now.

The wagyu burger was very bad, meat tasted awful The special lamb chops were dry The spaghetti and meatballs were good Calamari was good Bread was good

I loved the homemade pasta, cocktails, and desserts! Everything looked and tasted great. It's is a welcoming and cozy environment made for a great family celebration!

This is a charming and quaint local restaurant tucked away on the corner of our neighborhood strip center. The staff has always been attentive, cheerful and love that they remember us when we call in orders and when we visit in person. My parents live out of town, took them here for dinner one time a couple years ago. Now they make extra effort to eat hear every time they are in town from Victoria, TX Several items on the menus are outstanding. Meals are always consistent and served hot. You will not go wrong with anything you order!

Came here after church to eat before they closed at 3pm on Sunday before the dinner rush at 5pm. I will say I was really impressed with my salmon salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly like I want it. My husband tried the chicken and waffles since they were still serving brunch. Some brunch specials for drinks were still going on so I tried the peach Bellini. It was yummy! The ambiance was very nice and we felt right at home. Even though the kids menu wasn't in the book. They did offer a kids menu and my son had the butter pasta and cleared the whole plate. Parking had ample space so you didn't have to worry about that. You can tell that a lot of locals from the area come here to eat and I can see why. It's delicious and service was excellent. We'll definitely be back when we are on this side of town!!

I stopped in as this little bistro was close to where I was working this week. The room is lovely with beautiful paintings throughout,, and a full bar. I was seated immediately and offered a drink. The servers were unobtrusive, yet attentive. I had the chicken piccata and it was delightful. It was not smothered in capers like other places. The noodles were the perfect texture and I ate every bite. Highly recommend.

Excellent delicious food! Although it's Italian fare, the dishes are both traditional & unique & include seafood, too! Nice atmosphere & wait staff attentive. Easy to get to & ample parking.

I came here for a easy Saturday lunch and i realty like this place. Thy do have plenty nice selection of food in their menu. The service was very good. Our nice server told us it could get really busy at night time. So if you don't like big crowds, lunch is a better idea. I had ordered fried calamari, clam chowder which I love it. The chicken piccata was pretty good as well. Too bad I don't have room for the desert. Will have to come back to try the desert next time.

I honestly just love this place! I don't eat out "frequently " anymore- but when I do this is where I like to come. Fresh food, fabulous service, great customer satisfaction ratio, delicious food that I don't mind paying listed amount for (because it's so good and so ample). This restaurant does it all well. I've been here several times at lunch. I invited a couple to join me last night for dinner. It did not disappoint! Great service and attention. Our waiter was excellent and our food arrived promptly all at the same time. I got the crab cake with the corn pudding and salad. A fabulous combination. I'd love to have the salad dressing recipe. Alex's is a great all round restaurant from every day to special occasions.

May 29,2025 my church, St. Catherine of Sienna, Episcopal Church had 20 ladies at Alex's Kitchen. The service and food could have not been better. The restaurant was packed and our servers could not have been any more pleasant. Very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. Most enjoyable time was had by all.

The ambience is nice, the service professional, and the food delicious. It is on our go-to list.

We really enjoyed the food and the friendly service. Large parking lot so there is no need for valet.

Nice cosy restaurant, great for families, and big or small groups. Server was attentive and friendly. I ordered the fried calamari, and garlic bread for appetizers. Chicken Alfredo, and grilled shrimp risotto for entrées. To end off the meal, I had the warm fruit tart with vanilla ice cream. The fried calamari had fried lemon, and fried green beans in the basket too. I like the combi as it would be boring to just have the calamari in it only. However the marinara sauce was a little watery. The garlic bread was really good. Garlicky, buttery, and herby. The Chicken Alfredo was good. Good proportion of chicken pieces to pasta. Chicken was cooked well. The grilled shrimp risotto was great. The shrimps were huge, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The vegetables in the dish were fresh. Risotto was perfect too. Absolutely love the dish but the plantain chips could be left out. The dessert wasn't what I expected. The warm fruit tart was actually fruit(s) jam in a crust. The crust was really good. The vanilla ice cream on top melted well on the warm crust. So delicious. I would come here again for the yummy food.

My first night staying in the area one of my associates wanted to go to a barbecue chain and I found Alex's kitchen on yelp. With such great reviews, I figured let's give it a try. Last night I had the Seabass and Wow, like delicate with a perfect combination of extras around the side. I decided to get the chocolate cake to take back with me and when I tried it, there was a huge amount of icing and very little cake. That wasn't my style and I could not enjoy it. So I brought it back tonight when thank you they explained it's a ganache not an icing. Whatever it was there was a whole bunch of it, and they should have described it as a ganache with little bits of cake between it. Anyway, I had the chicken Parmesan, which is a huge portion and very tasty. I included a picture of the cake so you'll know what you're getting and of the chicken Parmesan. I will make sure I come back for meals here when I am in the area. Can't wait to try everything on the menu.

Situated in older strip center, Alex's inside is quietly elegant. Great staff who greeted us & quickly seated us. Extensive menu & bar which gives you excellent choices. We ordered the fried artichokes for a shared appetizer which was very good. I choice the Chilean sea bass & my sister choice the short rib ravioli, both were excellent!! Dessert was an apple Crostini w ice cream, yummy. We have added this spot for a return trip!

The food was excellent. I ordered the Chilean seabass. It was perfectly prepared. We also enjoyed the chocolate and ricotta cake. The cakes are not too sweet. Servers were very attentive. We will surely go back. Highly recommended!

Stopped by today for a late lunch. We had the whole restaurant ton ourselves for about 30 minutes and it was lovely! We both had the Pasta Primavera and it was fantastic. We cannot wait to return again soon.

I visited here for dinner after hearing great things about the restaurant. It was busy too, even for a weekday, which usually means 1 of 2 things for a small restaurant, it's either the only restaurant in the area, or it's actually good. In this case, it's actually good. I had the hangar steak since I always love ordering it when I see it on a menu. Great steak and definitely a nice price point. I would say this place is good for taking family, friends and even clients. It wouldn't be my first choice for date night since it's kind of loud inside once the dining room starts filling up. Service is great though, which you would expect for a place like this.

This is a great place for delicious meal without high prices. Alex's Kitchen is advertised as Italian And New American but the menu slants strongly towards American than Italian. Certainly, not a complaint because the food is great and the offerings should cover the eating desires of any group. I had the grilled Red Snapper which had a nice flaky texture and not dry. The server was very friendly and willing to help maneuver around dietary concerns. The restaurant is relatively small so peak dining hour may require some advance planning. Parking is not a problem since it's located in shop center and the parking lot is well lit. Alex's Kitchen is now on my "repeat list".

Great food, great service Have eaten there numerous and the food was always superb. One of the best restaurants in SW Houston.

Food and service were very good. I would suggest adding some sound damping material as it is extremely loud and hard to hear. Some type of evening dress code would be nice. Shorts and flip flops shouldnt be allowed in a nice restaurant.

I'm a NY Italian and have ate Italian food all my life. This was not good Italian food by any stretch. Service was good and nice environment but the food tasted like was from a can.

Coming from out of town and just using yelp to find a steak house I was worried. The parking lot was not so full. Walked and was greeted promptly. Waiter was friendly and helpful on the menu. Went with the 14 oz new York and my wife had the filet. This was one of the best steaks I've ever had. The flavor and tenderness of the meat was amazing. The double baked mashed potatoes were also another plus! This place is just amazing. Hats off the the chef.

First of all, there was a large group of us tonight and I had never been here before. I live in Stafford. It was such a beautiful restaurant really good service! The food was really, really good. I had the Sea Bass with grilled brussel sprouts and the best risotto with mushrooms have ever eaten! I am so happy to have such a great place so close to home! Again, the staff was fantastic! We will be returning

I I have Have ordered the Chicken Fried chicken and mashed potatoes which the chicken was tender and moist and the mashed potatoes are like Homemade! I wish they were closer to where I just moved to! All good.

I really enjoyed my meal. I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was simply delicious. Can't wait to further explore the menu.

This was The Yates Ladies monthly last Friday dinner. I ordered the shrimp gumbo to start. It was barely warm but I didn't complain. The first time I got it, it was hot and good. I didn't want to complain because the other two ladies that ordered it was playing with it. I don't know if they finished it. I also ordered the bone in ribeye steak with twice backed potatoes and asparagus. It was really good and tasty. I had enough to take home to finish later. Very disappointed with the gumbo though. Our waiter, Sebastian was very attentive and professional. He kept coming back to see if everything was okay and if we needed anything. Eight stars.

Traveling for work and staying in the area, I stumbled upon this local gem. 5 stars across the board! The restaurant has a neighborhood local feel while having a fine dining experience on menu and service.
