Cultishly beloved LA cafe known for matcha and Stumptown coffee.

"Right in the middle of the lobby of the Line Hotel Downtown is a walk-up counter location of Alfred, a mini-chain of trendy coffee shops based out of LA. In other words, it’s the kind of place that has kombucha on tap, matcha drinks, and plenty of milk alternatives. There are a few tables nearby, or you can sit anywhere you want in the lobby, but it’s not a place you’re going to want to linger for very long. Instead, stop by to pick up some very good coffee and tea. The pastries are made in-house, and the best are the matcha concha and the Eggs Benedict kolache." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion
"Los Angeles’s hip Alfred coffee chain arrived in the lobby of the Line Hotel. It offers Stumptown coffee drinks and matcha, as well as a nice case of baked goods." - Tom Thornton

"Hotel coffee can be a sad affair. There’s either some wasteful pod-based coffee-like liquid in your room, or a huge vat of something lukewarm in the lobby. The Line Hotel downtown has a solution to this problem: a walk-up counter of Alfred – a mini-chain of trendy coffee shops based out of LA – right in the middle of the lobby. The coffee (Stumptown), tea, and matcha drinks are excellent, and everything in the pastry case is house-made, including a savory kolache and a matcha concha. You can sit anywhere in the lobby, but this isn’t a place where you’ll want to linger for a while - it’s more of a grab-and-go situation. FYI: the bathroom with fake graffiti is something to behold." - Raphael Brion
"The cultishly beloved Los Angeles coffee shop came to Austin, and brought along its noted matcha line." - Nadia Chaudhury

"I learned that the hotel's lobby will feature the only Texas location of the cultishly beloved Los Angeles cafe Alfred Coffee." - Nadia Chaudhury
