I loved this place! I'm so excited they offer salads to go. I got the most delicious "Brentwood" salad, a Lavender Latte, and a hot Matcha Latte with honey. Everything was exquisite! Alfred was so nice and personable. We will definitely come back and try their Spring Roll salad, Chickpea Caesar salad, and deli sandwiches.

Google
The vanilla latte is absolutely worth the hype. Absolutely delicious. Had it with oat milk and it was 10/10. Also had the el alfuego burrito which hit the spot. The hot sauce and salsa they serve with it is to die for. Wish I could get that in a bottle. Edit: just realized they sell the hotsauce in store and on Amazon! Getting it asap

I went in yesterday, and the staff is exceptionally friendly, especially Noel. My lavender latte was made perfectly. 💜 I've been away from CA for a while, back visiting, and didn't realize they stopped taking cash. Keep that in mind when you go.

Google
Cute little place. Got the vanilla latte (less than half sweetener and two extra shots) and it was tasty. They also have a fridge with more drinks & food. They have a some tables outside and there's trees giving a little shade. Staff was friendly, there was some parking in the back or on the street. It was a nice place to sit and work for a bit.

Google
Wow. I just have to say, I came here on a day where I wasn’t feeling too great but was then greeted and welcomed by the lovely Noel. You don’t forget a name or a face like that. Not only did she make me feel like a valued costumer but she made me feel like a friend. She then proceeded to make me the tastiest cup of matcha with (may I add) EXCEPTIONAL latte art. Somehow she was able to create a heart??? I will be coming back and hopefully Noel will be there.

Abigail Wrentz was the most amazing worker. I’ve never felt so welcomed and respected in an establishment before. She immediately greeted me and explained the entire menu to me in detail and also gave her personal opinion on the options. Whipped up a fire drink in like 3 min and then gave me a great recommendation for next time. Y’all should give her a raise.

Was in last week and always surprised that I don’t come in here more often. Food is wonderful and mocha latte is outstanding. Shout out to Milana who was all smiles, making the atmosphere that much better!

FIVE STARS ACROSS THE BOARD!! The baristas here are so friendly and always make me feel so welcomed (unlike at some locations...). I recently came in to this location for the first time, as I live rather far away from this part of town, and had the most lovely conversation with and drink made by Abigail. We bonded over loving SZA and she told me about how she saw her in concert recently. She made me the best iced vanilla latte I have had in years. No coffee has hit quite the same since I had that beautifully crafted beverage of Abigails. Employees at other Alfred locations, TAKE NOTES FROM ABIGAIL!!! This girl should teach a customer service class let me tell ya!

Yelp
Great coffee & tea in an intimate, friendly setting! We enjoyed a perfect latte & hot black tea with just the right amount of milk! Staff was friendly & efficient & we were quite happy!

Johanna S.

Yelp
Small location with a few outdoor tables for seating. Friendly service. The matcha latte was very good. Great location for people watching.

Rachel M.

Yelp
It's been while since I've been to Alfred. It was probably five years ago when I wrote my previous review. I used to alternate between the Macchiato and Iced Mocha, but I decided to try the Iced Vanilla Latte (4 stars). I liked the sweetened vanilla flavor with the strong espresso. You'll need to stir it if you are not using a straw because the vanilla bean syrup was on the bottom. I got my husband an Iced Mocha (4 stars) with oat milk, which he liked a lot. Their dark chocolate syrup is vegan and soy free. There was no particular reason why I stopped going to Alfred since I used to go to the Melrose location regularly. The service (5 stars) is better at this location because they are friendlier and faster. I'll be back for another coffee break.

Kimberley K.

Yelp
Of course I had to get a matcha latte from one of the most talked about coffee places in los angeles. The man behind Alfred is not named Alfred. He's Joshua Zad, a 34-year-old commercial real estate developer "[Alfred's] locations tend to be perfectly placed where fashionable people hang out," (Matt Kang) As a person who used to be in the fashion industry for many years and is still a fashion addict today... I have a tendency to read and follow certain Fashion blogosphere pioneers like Chiara Ferragni , Aimee Song, and Emily Schuman. Of course there are many many other fashion bloggers today.. but these women were some of the OG's. Alfred's Coffee has currently 14 locations across Los Angeles, California. However, it's possible that they may have others opening that I'm not aware of

Jara S.

Yelp
Went in to grab their infamous coffee syrup while running around Brentwood. Didn't grab coffee because I've hit my daily max. + points for some parking in Brentwood. Seating capacity isn't as big as the Malibu location. Staff in this location was friendlier than their Bu counterpart which was awesome. Merch section was well stocked and arranged. Super quick transaction. Some street parking available as well.

Darby L.

Yelp
The one employee. I believe her name is Adriana Is terrible she always makes me feel so un welcomed . She's rude , always on her phone , and is rude to me every time I come to get a coffee , I'm a regular and receive great service but this employee in particular has made me and my friends feel un welcomed multiple times. Do not recommend .

Reagan N.

Yelp
The best vanilla latte I have probably ever had. Line can look long but they are quick!

Niki G.

Yelp
Really don't understand the allure behind this place. Almost every time I go I regret it. Let's start on a positive note the staff is friendly professional and accommodating. The only drink worth having here is the Alfred cup which is a shot of espresso in a waffle cup. Their "famous vanilla ice latte" is a joke. It's milk pumped full of sugar with ONE shot of espresso. What coffee shop makes a latte with less than 2 shots of espresso? It's disgusting and pure milk and sugar. If you ask for honey in your coffee they charge 50 cents - nobody does that. Stop nickel and dime-ing your customers and make your lattes with 2 shots of espresso instead of one like every other coffee shop under the sun.

Simon H.

Yelp
Alfed is an overhyped marketing play. They use beans that aren't their own (Stumptown) and make a mediocre coffee that you wait too long for, served in a cup w/ a lid that drips on your clothes as you drink. Everybody has known that their cups and lids don't work properly but over a year later, the issue persists so I am trying to help via this review. Please stop focusing on selling us movie ads on your cardboard coffee sleeves and start focusing on serving coffee in cups with lids that contain the coffee inside. Most Angelenos are sheep and go to Alfred's for the marketing and location while the substance is lacking. The coffee is tolerable but there are far better places nearby: Amandine, Literati, and even Joe and the Juice and Starbucks make a better cup of joe with no spills.

Yelp
This was my favorite coffee chain when I went to UCLA, and I love to go when I go back to Westwood/Brentwood to visit. Parking and accessibility - not great. The parking lot is very small and never has spaces. You will likely have to park downhill by the apartments and have an uphill trek (not steep, but uphill) over uneven sidewalk - accessibility nightmare. There's nothing the business can do about this, but good to know. The shop is up a brick step, but there is ramp access off to the right side of the shop, near the parking lot. Service is good but efficient, these people have a lot of drinks to make and people to serve, so they are freidnly without being chatty. If you are looking for a laidback coffee shop to get some work done, this is not it. There is very little seating space outside, and it is usually full with dozens of people waiting for their drinks. This is more of a grab and go place. The drinks are good! I am a total coffee snob and usually avoid chains of any kind but this holds up. It's pricey but, in my opinion, worth it (especially considering the location - there is no cheap coffee in Brentwood). Their americanos are solid, and I love their iced mochas - SO good and not too sweet. I also loved a seasonal drink they carry in spring - sweat pea and lavender latte. YUM! (Bring it back plz :) ) TIP -- call ahead or get the app and order from there. They serve tons and tons of people, so it takes a LONG time to get a drink - our simple americanos took about 20 min. Understandable but avoidable - order ahead and your drink will be ready and waiting by the time you find parking, LOL.

Yelp
I tried the Chagachino with oat milk and it was really good! I'd definitely get it again Everyone is really friendly here and the coffee was delicious

Michelle W.

Yelp
I ordered the lavender latte because I'm usually a fan of lavender, but I was unfortunately pretty disappointed... First, I know this is "bougie" coffee, but for the price, it is an abysmally small size... The lavender latte had an overpoweringly syrupy, saccharine flavor. I couldn't even really taste the coffee. Maybe they are known for their syrups, because this certainly did showcase the syrup but not much else...The person who rang up my order seemed a bit lackluster when I asked for recommendations. I did appreciate that I had the option to make the coffee less sweet. I can't imagine what it would have tasted like if I didn't make it less sweet, given how sweet my "less sweet" coffee tasted.

Rylie K.

Yelp
Had an amazing first time experience here. Madison was so patient and kind with helping me decide what kind of latte to order. Will definitely be coming back more often!

Nico N.

Yelp
I came to order a latte and she asked me my order 3 times as she was high. No hi, no thank you and no bye. She didn't want to interact at all. Gave me a dirty look and walked away. I'll never spend another $6 in establishments such as this. Awful people!- Stay away!

Jim S.

Yelp
I really enjoy going to Alfred Coffee when I'm in the neighborhood. It's a small boutique coffee house and is very popular with locals. I like the friendly ambience and I like their hot mocha latte. The venue is conveniently located on San Vincente and surrounded by many excellent restaurants too. I would highly recommend this place.

Allison T.

Yelp
I have to say, I'm a little disappointed. I've heard really good things about Alfreda from so many people, but I don't think it lives up to the hype. Don't get me wrong, the flavor of the beans is pretty good, but it just didn't live up to my expectations. I ordered the cold brew with vanilla syrup ($5.00) The cold brew itself tastes like a medium roast. To me, it has citrusy notes, but the flavor wasn't very prominent. The one thing I really liked though was the vanilla syrup. It tasted so unique. It's definitely nothing like the ones that come in the bottle. It tastes like it's a homemade vanilla simple syrup which I really appreciate. Overall: 8/10 Aesthetic: 10/10 Drink: 7.5/10 Service: 10/10 Parking: 9/10 (some reserved spots for Alfreda but not very many. The area is also a little narrow and hard to back out of if you're driving a larger vehicle)

Lauren C.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place so, when I stumbled upon it on my way to an appointment I had in the area, I knew I had to try it. Wowza! Do they know how to make an exceptionally tasty iced vanilla latte. I usually get an iced vanilla latte with almond milk but I have also gotten an iced americano and just a plain iced latte and it's pretty safe to say that I'll probably be always getting an iced vanilla latte! It's just so creamy and delicious!!! Just the right amount of all the ingredients mingling together. I've only ever ordered through the app and to be honest, I prefer it that way. It's super convenient and I get a notification when my order is ready to be picked up. It never takes that long. At least in my experience, my orders have always been ready sooner than it said it would be, which is always appreciated. Just a note: if you are getting more than one coffee and you get the drink holder... beware that it's not very sturdy. It's pretty flimsy and I learned that the hard way when I put them on the floor and drove. Almost immediately they tumbled over and I had a huge mess to clean up.

Emily I.

Yelp
A little overhyped, but decent. Their world famous vanilla latte was just ok, their matcha (get w/ vanilla) & chai (get w/ oat milk) however we're both very good. Their chagaccino drink was actually my favorite - deep cinnamon flavor & you can really taste the espresso. Typical coffee prices for LA. In terms of food, their herb & toma danish was a nice savory danish, but needed more flavor. Rico Suave burrito was decent, but needed more flavor. Greenie bagel was very messy. My favorite treats of theirs was the citrus olive oil cake (so moist!) & the spinach artichoke danish. One thing I will say is that they don't mix their drinks and it really affects the quality. I recently tried their black flame latte and it was really bad not mixed. I know they probably don't mix for the aesthetic, but at least put some plastics spoons/straws out! It would seriously really help cause this place is so much better with mixed drinks.

Phoebe K.

Yelp
This coffee shop is located just between where my mom's house and dad's house were, and when I would go back and forth, this was my favorite place to stop on my way between them. Their drinks are delicious pretty much whatever you get. The staff are friendly and energetic. It's a great place to be. Also, they always have great music on. And lastly - as someone who prefers outdoor dining for covid safety, I really appreciate that they have ample covered outdoor seating.

Anita L.

Yelp
Gotta hand it to the power of radio... Been hearing Alfred Coffee on the radio station lately, and asked my boyfriend to order a latte for me. Thank goodness for online orders, because the wait time for a cup of coffee was close to 45 minutes around 11:30am on a Saturday afternoon. As of June 2021, there is no indoor service. They have staff that could assist you with your order. The line to the left is to place your order, and the line to the right is to pick up your order. It is basically a grab and go coffee shop at this time. Gotta say, I loved their coffee, and I would definitely be coming back!

Jackie A.

Yelp
Probably the worst coffee and the worst customer service people are so rude. What are the girls working here to seem like they were in a bad mood! Rubbing it off on customers in the morning overall, I don't see anything special about the vanilla latte

Anna M.

Yelp
Cute little place. Got the vanilla latte (less than half sweetener and two extra shots) and it was tasty. They also have a fridge with more drinks & food. They have a some tables outside and there's trees giving a little shade. Staff was friendly, there was some parking in the back or on the street. It was a nice place to sit and work for a bit.

Bakri F.

Yelp
Reminder to myself to never come back to this poor excuse for a coffee shop. Feel like I spent $15 for two cups of milk. Rather than remake it they wanted to ring me up for another shot of espresso. Service was poor as can possibly be.

N. D.

Yelp
We love a good Americano with oatmilk and were looking for coffee when we stumbled upon Alfred's. It was a really cool find on our way into the area. Thanks to Wilson for the great service and making sure that we got our order and breakfast items nice and hot! This place is very trendy and not the run of the mill coffee places we've been to. You all know those places and this isn't one of them. Will come back here again!

Seline K.

Yelp
Nice aesthetic. Nothing to write home about. Parking could be an issue. No indoor seating. The baristas do not seem thrilled to be there. But the matcha itself is THE best in Los Angeles. The ready made snacks and the pastries are pretty good as well. I always stop by when I'm in the area.

Justin L.

Yelp
Colorful and lively place along San Vicente! Really liked how Alfred Tea Room was just a couple doors down, in case I was in the mood for boba instead of coffee. This is not a study spot. Small parking lot with a couple meters nearby. Not much indoor seating as well, just an outdoor patio. Outlets are nonexistent, and street traffic is loud. They have a comprehensive drink menu with all the standard coffee options. The tea selection is limited here, just have to go to Alfred Tea. You can get kombucha and cold brew on tap, and also a number of dairy alternatives, shots, and syrups to customize your cup to your liking. I gravitate towards lattes, I tried the Matcha most recently. Kinda wanted a bit more sweetness, but the flavor was strong and the milk was just enough to not overpower. Pastries are also on the slim side, mostly croissants. I'm not complaining though, they have delicious croissants. The Raspberry Rose was a wonderful combination of sweet, buttery, and tart. I have yet to try the breakfast burrito and other food items. Maybe on my next visit, if I don't get coffee first.

Diego F.

Yelp
Came here after Christmas to try macadamia latte. And here I am...Very tasty macadamia latte. Really love it. Also good pastries. I got the almond croissant. Different table outside to enjoy your drink and do a little of work on your laptop. Inside is small but very creative place. Service is very fast and the people working there are very nice and good vibes one.

Nikki S.

Yelp
Was just going to pass it by looking how busy that parking lot is but the sign that said "famous iced vanilla latte" got me. Best? Let's see! I only knew of Alfred code from its cute saying, "coffee first" which I truly believe you should start most days, especially with work. I need it for work. So IG worthy. Parking... horrendous. Even just to pick up your online order it could be awhile. There is a small shared parking lot. And I mean small. And some street metered parking. Good luck if your in a rush. Now to the famous iced vanilla latte. It's bloody good! I got it with oat milk too! As they say in one of their drink sleeve, "stop milking almonds". The syrup is with vanilla bean not extract. And you can see the little black specks. It's a different vanilla latte for sure. I guess your sign is right.... They have other drinks.. maybe I'll try the chai next time but now this is the new vanilla latte.

Vincent G.

Yelp
Really great coffee. Sometimes a longer wait but usually pretty reasonable. Make sure you stir you latte or you get a giant sip of vanilla (made that mistake on accident). Not a great place to get work done/study.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
I can see what the all the hype is about . The coffee was smoothe . No burnt taste like Starbucks and I was able to have one of my favorite flavoring , lavender !!! I know it's weird but it just goes so well together! Must try for all coffee lovers

Teresa K.

Yelp
Their coffee sucks and over priced go to Starbucks. Every time I order the drinks are water downed and full of ice. The coffee is very bitter

Ale M.

Yelp
Not a big fan of Alfred's coffee or any of their drinks, really. But their bagels are 10/10. Solid bagels. The BLT is my favorite at the moment. They have a handful of arugula, spicy Mayo, bacon, and tomatoes. A little small but it wouldn't be a $9 bagel in Brentwood if it wasn't, right?

Kyli S.

Yelp
Great neighborhood coffee spot with excellent matcha and good snacks. The staff went above and beyond and were super welcoming. Thanks Madison!

Jaxon B.

Yelp
Cute store and welcoming staff. I believe I spoke with Madison and she was very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable of the menu as I had some questions!

Robin S.

Yelp
I routinely order in advance and routinely my order doesn't come up and they are unbelievably non-helpful. I guess I'm just gonna be going to Luxxe from now on.

Grace S.

Yelp
Stopping at this Alfred is always a favorite part of my day! Iced tea selection is so bomb and the ambience is very cutesie cafe! Service is also amazing, specifically Madison is always on it, with a smile on her face!

Katrin S.

Yelp
Horrible espresso beans. Americano was made poorly. I asked for a new one it taste worst than the first one

Guy S.

Yelp
I ordered a cortado / gibraltar. I got a cappuccino (even though gibraltar was printed on my cup). I don't think they know what the difference is. The cappuccino was just ok.

Lelosa A.

Yelp
Alfreds is good, but the service is better! Madison at Brentwood always sets me up for success with a friendly face, great seto de, and delish coffee on the side!

Madeline A.

Yelp
Brentwood Alfred's has the friendliest staff. Madison was the sweetest person ever & made the best matcha. Would definitely recommend this location!

Karen C.

Yelp
My coworkers have constantly told me that Alfred's has the best coffee, but I had to see it to believe it. The cutest coffee shop with amazing staff. Shoutout to Madison for the best Iced Matcha Latte, will definitely be coming back!

Camille P.

Yelp
Love the aesthetic of the place. My friend and I are matcha connoisseurs and we absolutely love their matcha! I definitely see the hype. Friendly and amazing service especially from Madison, and would recommend to others. Will definitely be coming back!

Sarah P.

Yelp
Cutest spot ever. Walked in and didn't want to leave because Madison goes above and beyond for her customers. She was so helpful and didn't make me feel rushed at all even though it was so busy.

Amanda R.

Yelp
Quality coffee I just with there was more in my cup for the price I paid! Nice, friendly staff

Franklin O.

Yelp
OMG how did I not know about this place ‍!! Alfred probably the best coffee I've had in freaking months. I happen to have a few hours free and decided to see what's in my neck of the woods and I stumbled upon this place oh my god this coffee was bleep bleep bleep bleep good can't wait to go back and get more!

Sushant Z.

Yelp
Drip coffee is the best here. That cup will set me off for the entire day. Rico burrito is the best breakfast burrito as well. The fillings draped with the two sauces they give you (one creamy avocado and the other chipotle salsa) are heaven. Love this place. Just discovered it and I've already been here twice in one week.

Franklin M.

Yelp
It was my 400pm iced coffee break time and we decided to try this coffee house. I ordered the large size iced coffee, splash of oat milk, and three pumps of liquid sugar. The coffee tasted bitter and didn't have a good coffee bean quality flavor to it, disappointed because it cost 5 bucks. The mocha my daughter ordered was pretty good and was way better than my drink despite paying 7 bucks.

Katrina S.

Yelp
My sister introduced my family to Alfred. I've been drinking their coffee at home but stopped in to restock and get a latte with oat milk. The latte was absolutely delicious and silky. They are doing a fantastic job with COVID precautions - staff is wearing masks/gloves, signs for six feet distancing, and plexiglass is up.

Yvonne W.

Yelp
Love Alfred! So glad that Postmates has a $3 iced matcha latte special (at least as of today). I got my latte with oat milk and ordered on Postmates around 12:15. It said it would be ready by 12:45 but it didn't take very long, I got the text at 12:22 that it was ready. I did ask the guy who was taking orders if it really takes that long, he said it doesn't and they make the drink the moment they see the order come in. I liked his energy - he was kind and helpful and attentive. The orders and pickups are taken outside and there were a lot of ppl around waiting and picking up. The parking could definitely be better but not surprised because it's LA. The matcha latte is definitely one of the better ones I've had because the quality of the ceremonial matcha is good and strong. It is verdant and isn't afraid to be bitter, only sweetened by the choice of milk. I like it this way, it tastes like what matcha is supposed to taste like - none of that Starbucks artificial shiz.

Mohammad S.

Yelp
What an unpleasant experience over a simple cup of coffee on a Saturday afternoon. I usually get my coffee elsewhere, today I decided to try this place with my friend which I encountered the Rudest, most unprofessional, Most under trained staff in food/beverage industry. walked in around 12.30 at noon, looking at the menu while waiting behind a few people who were ahead of me to place their order.... one of their staff came on to me, pointing with his finger toward me, without any sign of politeness, or any touch of customer care, telling me "you need to stay out of the store and clear the entrance". Even though I was not blocking anyone or anywhere, I stepped out and waited till a few people came out. didn't want anything to ruin my day off, Placed my order for a medium coffee with some cream on the side and stepped out of store and waited for my name to be called. my name was called after 15 minutes..... same guy handed my coffee to me but no cream on the side. Before getting a chance to ask him for cream, he rushed back in. I stepped in again and asked if I can have some cream on the side, same person, this time with more offending tone and worst body language (pointing with his finger even closer to my face said "You can not be here step out". I had enough of this and told this untrained staff, "you missed part of order and please dont point your finger at me anymore, I find it offending and rude"...... Up to this point, a simple apology or any hint of recognition of their short coming would have had taken care of any misunderstanding .... instead this pathetic person took it a notch higher in a very loud voice yelling at me infront of all customers "No you are rude not me". I had enough of this BS, and asked the guy to stop talking to me, and asked the girl behind the counter to get my cream. One would think at this point either a manager or someone in charge would step in to see what is going on...... but there was no one .... as the girl was getting my cream, he decided to open his big mouth one more time saying "get your cream and get the F*** out of store". I had no other option but to bring myself to his level and choose the vocabulary that he is used to, and make sure he understood that I am very well prepared to stand up for myself and defend my honor and respect if it is necessary at any cost. At this point my Saturday was ruined and I was still shocked how in the world someone like him can even be allowed to work here??? in a business that you are directly in touch with people/customers????? I am speaking out loud to the manager/owner or person in charge of this organization; What kind of training are you having for your staff prior letting them facing your customers? what kind of supervision is on them to monitor their quality of service???? I GUESS NONE...... very sad but true.... I am sharing this picture so you recognize this rude individual incase if you made the mistake of stepping into this business for a worthless cup of coffee, and showing how uncrowded was this place while he was insisting that i have to stay outside.....
