Absolutely amazing experience. The food was beyond delicious. The man who took our order was the chef and he was very excited we ordered so much food. He was very set in his recommendations to us but did give us what we asked for. Most of the food even down to the jam was made from scratch and you could taste the heart and passion in the food. The orange juice was the most freshly squeezed juice and was amazing. They are very clearly proud of their culture and its beautiful. The chef was also so excited for us to try the crepes he gave us 2 free crepes so all of us could try a good portion. Overall wonderful experience if will definitely be coming back if im in town and would highly recommend this place.

Google
Upon entering we had to find someone to tell us whether to take a seat or wait, but the man was very nice and told us they were cleaning a table for us. We had the breakfast for 2 and its was amazing! Service overall was not very attentive at all. We still would return because of the food.

Google
Genuinely one of the best breakfasts I’ve had! Everything was so fresh, tasty, and authentic. The pomegranate tea was likely a powder, but still tasty. We ordered the Turkish breakfast for two, it came with ample bread, menemen, honey, apple marmalade, olives, tomato, cucumbers, spicy tomato paste, and cheeses. It was a nice atmosphere, food, service. Must try if you’re in Pittsburgh!!!!!

Google
If you are looking for a Turkish authentic breakfast, don’t miss Alihan’s. I visited Pittsburgh for three days and I ate at Alihan’s with my boyfriend every morning. Absolutely delicious juicy Menemen accompanied with fresh soft bread. As someone who is Turkish, it brought me back to my visits to Istanbul and made me feel right at home. I recommend drinking their Çay as well which also added to the authentic experience. The staff was immensely helpful and had excellent hospitality. Shout out to Tolga and Medina! We were also helped by another lady who we think was the manager and she was also amazing. What an absolute delight and delicious way to start our mornings. Afiyet olsun 😋☕️🍽️ (enjoy your meal!)

Google
An absolute gem in the heart of Pittsburgh! From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The menu is thoughtfully curated, offering a perfect balance of traditional flavors and creative flair. Every dish we tried was flavorful, beautifully presented, and made with fresh ingredients. Especially “menemen” was amazing. The service was impeccable — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. Whether you’re planning a casual dinner or a special evening out, this place delivers a top-tier dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates quality breakfast and memorable service. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Food was extremely delicious, fairly priced, and in my opinion an exceptional value. Yes, you may experience a longer than usual wait for food because they cook everything, including fresh bread, from scratch and to order. Ordered the breakfast for two, tea, and Turkish coffee. Food and drink were phenomenal. Wait staff was very kind, attentive and on point. 3 people running front of house on a Sunday and it was smooth. We arrived around 12:45pm and stayed till around 2:30pm. The place was busy the entire time, but as I said the wait staff was great and everyone around us seemed to enjoy their food and time there. We will certainly be coming back soon, and will recommend our friends and family try it as well.

Google
The menemen is on point! And the bread…oh my! They bake it fresh on house. There is a slight crust to the bread with an essence of salt. The inside is pillowy soft. The place is unassuming so don’t pass it by. Stop in, you’ll be glad you did

Google
This is my first experience with a Turkish breakfast. It was incredible. I got the Sultans coffee which is Turkish coffee with a couple very small sweets. The sweets were excellent. The coffee was deep flavored but not overbearing. The menemen was out of this world. Paired with the fresh bread it has to be one of the best breakfast items I've ever had. The mucver was ok. Got a glass of orange juice and could easily tell they just juiced it. I can't say enough about this place. If you're in the area and are open to trying something besides bacon and eggs for breakfast this is a must visit.

Yelp
Great spot! Food is delicious. They blend in Mediterranean flavors with traditional breakfast food well in addition to offering fantastic traditional foreign fare.

Yelp
It is a go! Elegant Turkish coffee service. Very friendly and accommodating service, really good food and coffee, with an ambience of a rustic coffee shop. I had a Turkish coffee and menemen (a Turkish tomato, egg and sausage dish) and it was excellent. My girlfriend had the oatmeal which she said was very solid. Also, the restaurant is Halal if that's something that you were looking for. There is the sister restaurant for lunch and dinner across the street, but I did not try that place.
google avatar

Bart W.

Yelp
The Turkish bread is so smooth that it slides right down your throat. You don't even have to chew. I don't know what's in the Menemen and I don't want to know. This is one of the tastiest stews I've ever had. This is the only restaurant I've been to in Pittsburgh. Is it like this everywhere in the city?

Yelp
A delicious and unique experience! I have now eaten here several times, both for lunch and breakfast. I like the variety of options for both menus. A favorite for breakfast are the hazelnut crepes. They are packed with flavor and the strawberries were huge and sweet. My favorite lunch item is the shrimp sandwich. The shrimp were huge! And the avocado was the perfect consistency. One thing I will say is that if you order online, maybe call to confirm the order was received because even though I had an order confirmation and payment was made, when I arrived to pick up the order, they had no record of it and said they "sometimes have system issues". They did offer me a complimentary coffee while I waited to make up for the issue. Overall a great dining option with a lot of unique flavors. Definitely recommend it.

Yelp
The level Pittsburgh has stepped their food game up since I left in 09' continues to shock me. This was nothing short of a perfect breakfast with the bread being the star of the show. The service was spot on, the coffee was delicious, and the interior of the location was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Breakfast here this morning was excellent! We ordered the Turkish breakfast for two and it was plenty of food and a really nice variety. I'll be dreaming about the honey and butter. All the veggies tasted fresh and the menemen was so good, especially with adding sausage. An issue for me was that there were no bathrooms - both were out of order. I asked if there was somewhere I could wash my hands and they brought me hand sanitizer, but it's not really the same. It seemed family friendly, but they did not appear to have high chairs. We'll definitely come back again since the food was so good!

Yelp
Regardless of your religion, belief, or creed, I think we can all agree that Turkish breakfast will be served in paradise and if we're lucky, Alihan's will do the catering! I legitimately have no negative feedback to give. The interior was beautifully decorated and really made you forget you just walked off the street in downtown Pittsburgh. Everything was ornately designed even down to the dining ware they used. I haven't felt that fancy since the first time I learned what fine china was. The food made me emotional, having to leave felt like going through an unwanted separation. I ordered the menemen specialty and a sultan coffee that came a Turkish delight. Everything was fresh and hit you with overwhelming flavor. The portions were easily enough for 2 meals (and the leftovers helped ease the separation anxiety). The service was fantastic. You can feel the passion that the owners/staff have for sharing their food and their culture, which adds to making the overall experience feel like a lot more than just stopping for a bite. If you are in Pitt, I cannot recommend enough stopping here! You won't be disappointed, but you may need to step back and re-evaluate your life after.

Yelp
The food was authentic and extremely well made. The staff provided excellent service. A little language barrier but not enough to ruin the experience! They had ethnic music playing which added to the vibe and ambiance while plating there food to match what they served!

Yelp
First time and definitely coming back. We had: *menemen with spicy sausage and cheese * sunny side up eggs with meat and potatoes *ayran yogurt drink *sultan style turkish coffee everything was delicious and fresh staff was knowledgeable and nice!

Yelp
Subtle but effective decor reminds you that you are in a Turkish setting. We came here for breakfast and our server was so happy to explain all the options and make sure we got our dishes as we requested, A+ for service! The food was delicious and plentiful. I habmd the Breakfast, a dish called Menomonee, eggs with peppers, onions and tomatoes, I added the spicy Turkish sausage and it was flavorful and so satisfying! Recommend 100%!

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by Alihan's Coffee and Breakfast for brunch. Upon entering, the place was packed, even though it was a Monday morning. Despite the nearly full restaurant, service was reasonably fast. Our server promptly took our orders, and we got our food and Turkish coffee in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered the omellete, which came with two sides. The omellete was cooked perfectly and had the perfect amount of browning while still being soft and moist. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for both locals and tourists.

Yelp
So happy I found this spot while on our trip to Pittsburg! The location is perfectly placed central to a lot of things! We stayed at the Hotel Monaco and it was only an 8 minute walk from there. This place is small and intimate and looks to be locally owned. The workers there were very pleasant. I went with my sister and we ordered quite a few things. Everything tasted so good! My favorite was the burrata salad! My sister also ordered the Turkish coffee and it came in a cute little cup. So cute.

Yelp
My friend and I walked here from our hotel for a late breakfast on Veteran's Day. They weren't very busy when we got there (around 12:30 or so) and it took a while for a server to greet us and get our order placed. After 35 minutes with no one coming back or even bringing out our coffees we ordered, I had glanced back and a different server saw me and came over to see if we needed help. I asked her if they normally serve the drinks with the meal or if they come out beforehand because we had thought we would at least have our coffees by now. She said she would go check. A couple of minutes later our actual server came over and asked me to "remind her of our coffee order" and I said we ordered the traditional Turkish coffee and a sultan's coffee and she nodded her head and said "yes, it's on its way" or something like that and walked off. It was a little strange, but there seemed to be a slight language barrier. A few minutes after that she comes back, with no coffees, and asks us to now also "remind her" of our breakfast order because she "accidentally mixed up tables." We had only ordered the Turkish breakfast for 2 with meneman and the 2 different coffees, so I'm not sure what there was to "mix up." We also were seated near the only 2 other tables that had people at them (and this is a very small space). The table to my left was one man by himself and the table to my right was a group of 3-4 people who were already done eating before we arrived. It made us feel like she had just forgotten to put in our order entirely. About 5 minutes later she comes back with some of our food and asks if we want to move to a bigger table, so we do. The rest of our food and coffees came out and she also brought out some hot teas for the "inconvenience" (her words). The food was INCREDIBLE and we loved every bite. It was nice being able to have little bites of different things and feel full when you leave, but not bloated. The table had a really flavorful hot sauce out already and it was a great addition to the meneman. The drinks were all wonderful- I was glad to have the extra tea because our server never came over to ask if we needed anything else or check on us after we initially moved tables/started eating, so we never got water refills or extra napkins. Only one other person came in to eat after we arrived, so it was not because it was busy. We sat around for a few minutes after we were done and the other server that had said she would ask about our coffees came over to bring us our check so we could leave. While the food was really delicious, I don't think I would ever come back here based off of the bad customer service and wait time we experienced. Maybe other customers have better luck when eating here, but there are plenty of other breakfast spots in the city to eat at.

Yelp
The food was amazing, the price was affordable, and the staff was friendly. It was a comfortable place.

Yelp
My first experience with Turkish food was out in Philadelphia. I was delighted ever since but very hard to find Turkish cuisine, specifically. I was so happy to have found this coffee/ breakfast spot!!!! We went twice, it was packed for Sunday brunch!! Hard to find parking, long wait and not a very good dry erase board where you put your name on. As names are called the names above get erased but other people start writing their names and then those names get called before you do after waiting so much longer. A terrible wait list system! We finally go a table. Ordered but switched tables from a six seater to a two seater, since there was a family of four waiting to be seated. Whom were ahead of us but the dry erase system bumped them off to the bottom as others wrote their name above theirs too! The waiter said it was good and thanked us for making the larger table available but I guess he failed to notify the kitchen because our order went to the other table lol thank goodness I caught wind of it and waved the waitress to our table. We ordered sunny side eggs 3, Turkish beef sausage and roasted potatoes, Turkish bread with cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes, and chocolate crepes. It was amazingly delicious!!! The second time we drove here and it was a Monday morning, was able to find a parking spot not too far from the cafe. No wait we were sat down immediately. We both ordered omelets, cheese, and a veggie. They were served with some Turkish bread. Both were well seasoned and cooked right. It was very filling. We also tried the yogurt drink and that was so refreshing. I love plain yogurt and this was perfect! We had a hot chocolate and a coffee all very good! The restroom was clean and all the tables and chairs were clean as well. Will definitely come back when I'm this area.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended to us by a waiter we had at a local fine dining spot in Pittsburgh. I was intrigued when I learned the restaurant is Turkish. The server was pleasant but the service is completely lacking. I would have preferred walking up to a counter and ordering. Despite the restaurant being 90% empty I had to flag the server down after patiently waiting for her. She never checked on us after our food came and I had to flag down another server to get the check. Pretty much complete service failure despite almost no customers. I ordered a smoked salmon crepe but they were out of salmon ( it happens). Switched to an omelette which was fine but nothing special. Turkish bread (no different than other French or Italian bread) was soft and good. No butter or jam offered/ served. Turkish coffee was good but amazingly they don't give you a spoon. Love stirring my coffee with a knife ! No one asked if we'd like a second coffee as no one came by. Prices are reasonable. Music slightly too loud for breakfast but that's a personal preference. I was overall disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant for breakfast.

Yelp
The food was good but customer service is HORRIBLE. They sat me next to the area they are juicing and ALL of the gnats were everywhere. My son was so hungry from waiting 30 minutes so we didn't leave but I was disgusted. I wouldn't go back. And then f you eat here sit closest to the front door so the gnats don't hover over you. The shrimp and avocado sandwich was good I tossed most of the bread but the shrimp was good. My son got the French toast it was way too brown but like I said he was hungry.
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
Excellent service, no wait at all and server was extremely friendly. Felt very welcome and the music inside made the atmosphere feel warm. Got the menemen with added beef sausage, very good dish! Didn't like the turkish coffee as much. Got baklava at the end of the meal and it was great. Would recommend.

Yelp
I cannot rave about this place enough. I tried it for the first time summer 2023 when I was visiting my best friend. I fell in love with Turkish breakfast. To the point that I talked about it so much to my boyfriend, that when we found ourselves in Pittsburgh this summer, he made sure we visited this place first day we were in the city. We got the breakfast for two with menemen and a pot of Turkish tea, followed by Turkish coffee. They never disappoint. The whole meal is just impecable. The bread is my absolute favorite! The service is always incredible. We are there almost every day and the owner always said, "welcome back" when we came in each morning. It's always the highlight of my time in Pittsburgh.

Ethel

Yelp
Professional friendly service, clean facility with authentic menu flavors and hospitality. Details were a nice touch as well as excellent Turkish coffee! We came back twice in same day bringing other family members.

Julie H.

Yelp
First time here and I was blown away! We got the menemen and the potato and sunny eggs with spicy Turkish sausage. It was my first time trying Turkish food and it was delicious! The menemen with the fresh bread was amazing. Tomato based but not heavy! This was the perfect breakfast. The 2 young ladies were amazing! They were very friendly and gave recommendations. The restaurant was busy for a random Tuesday at 10:30am so I knew it was going to be good! The coffee at the end with the sweet treat was the perfect bite . Will definitely come back
google avatar

Maya L.

Yelp
They will try to charge you "Large Party Service Fee" for only 4 people. Also, they will ask if you want to refill the bread basket and charge you for it without letting you know. Sneaky. The waiters and waitress were fine but the manager should learn how to tone it down speaking to customers. She made my group feel uncomfortable at times. Also, when I asked her for ice, she came back with a cup of ice that was in a used cup. When I poured it in my own cup there was floating orange pulps. Anyways, the Menemen was very good, add the sausage!

Yelp
I stopped by here with my wife and twins on a Sunday morning earlier this year. Every Sunday we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this morning we went to Alihan's Coffee and Breakfast. The inside of the restaurant was quite beautiful with bright yellow walls, wood looking flooring and some fun lights. For a place with coffee very large in their name I did find the to go place to order a coffee somewhat cramped and small. In any case I ordered myself a large pistachio latte and my wife a large plain latte. After only a couple of minutes wait I had my coffees and we were on our way. Unfortunately my coffee from here ended up being quite disappointing. I felt like the coffee itself was super mild and I couldn't taste the pistachio either. As someone who likes strong coffee, that is not a good combination for me. My wife has similar coffee tastes and also thought that there wasn't enough coffee flavor. The bottom line for me is that I wouldn't stop back here again in the future, at least for coffee. With that being said I did enjoy the look and feel of the shop and thought that their breakfasts looked good and so would be willing to give that a try.
google avatar

Doug E.

Yelp
I liked everything about this place. It was unique and authentic. The coffee and crepes were delicious and well priced. I would love to go back

Stephanie P.

Yelp
The food is delicious, service is friendly. It's super clean inside. We liked it so much we had breakfast here two days in a row. Cheese omelet, menemen, breakfast panini, Breakfast Poğaça Savory. All very tasty, Turkish tea.
google avatar

Susan D.

Yelp
Alihan's is a neat out-of-the-way (at least for me) gem. I was looking for something a little bit different than the usual fast food or sub shops. And trust me, it's well worth a walk over here on your lunch hour. I tried the Kavurma Panini ,which is a beef panini with Turkish spices. Yum! And their Turkish Coffee is unbelievable!
google avatar

Jonathan F.

Yelp
Visiting Pittsburgh and decided to check this place out. The potato suc dish is described as sunny side up but as you can see it was over easy. It was delicious either way. Served with a platter of warm bread to sop up the runny yolks. Nicely seasoned with cumin which I like. The handle on the coffee cup was too small for me to use. The place was hopping. Worth a try.
google avatar

Carol L.

Yelp
This restaurant was phenomenal. We spoke with the chef who told us many of the recipes come from his family generational recipes. No garbage added everything from scratch. We tried several different dishes and shared them. Everything was so amazing. This was some of the best food. I've eaten in a long, long time. The server was fantastic. Quick, efficient, kind, friendly, and gave us a lot of instruction on what were the most traditional Turkish meals so we could really enjoy the experience. The Turkish coffee here is so good it does not need any milk added. The price is good $3.00 dollars. I did not have any sugar in the coffee. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant in the future.

Yelp
Tea and latte were amazing. Had the sunny side up eggs with spicy Turkish sausage and potatoes and loved it!!

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful flavors. Beautiful cook. Nice easy atmosphere and great service. Perfect portions. Solid coffee.

Yelp
I loved the food and the ambience! My daughter recommended this for our brunch and I loved it!

Yelp
I CAN'Y BELIEVE I DIDN'T GET PICTURES FROM HERE! We ordered two TURKISH breakfast Delights for 2 with the potato and egg dish, and it comes with a plate of cucumbers, olives, and tomatoes, a cheese plate, freshly baked bread, and honey with butter and homemade marmalade! OMG IT IS SOOOOO GOOD!!! This is one of our new favorite spots for breakfast (and it's so nice because it's so close to our house)! Please check it out if you haven't, the service here is awesome and the ambiance is stunning! A cute place either for a date, to catch up with friends, or if you just want amazing food! Check it out if you haven't!
google avatar

Yelp
Service, food, and ambiance were all great!! We got the Turkish breakfast dish and were not disappointed!! Will come back if/when we return to the area!
google avatar

Yelp
It's so good, we came back for more! This time , on a weekday. VERY popular! The Turkish coffee is authentic... but we preferred the not-so-thick variety. Fresh squeezed orange juice, which is rarely found anywhere!
google avatar

Britta F.

Yelp
Great service! Super cute place! One of the few places open for breakfast on a Tuesday so we took a chance. Cute Turkish dishes!

Sara Eve R.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Ailhan's today for an early Valentine's Day Brunch. It was a relaxing and delicious meal :D We got the breakfast for 2 with a turkish coffee and sultan's tea. We relaxed and enjoyed our drinks while our food was made from scratch. When we received our food it was delicious! The different combinations and flavors in the breakfast for 2 were truly wonderful. And our Baklava was heavenly. The staff worked really hard to serve a packed restaurant and I believe they did an excellent job. They were very kind and checked in to update us as they were making more fresh bread (I felt truly lucky!) All the tables were full as we went during the busiest part of the day on a Sunday, super bowl day. Even then, we found the food service time to be very fair, especially since the menu informs every customer that everything is being made from scratch. This is not a fast food restaurant, nor does it advertise as such. If customers want freshly made from scratch food, expecting it to be delivered fast is really unreasonable. I say this due to the abundance of, in my opinion, unfair 1 stars on this review site. It really doesn't do this place justice. Fresh baked bread takes time and it is so worth the time. If you enjoy the person you are eating with, just relax and wait for made from scratch amazing breakfast :D
google avatar

Dani G.

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing. My party arrived around 11:30am and we got there right in time before a surge came. If there is a wait, they have a piece of paper on their door where you wrote your name down until a table is ready. All of the portions were of substantial size and the food was great! The Turkish coffee that comes with the baklava and Turkish delight was also wonderful. There are a few tables outside, but the space inside itself isn't very big. The wait staff was pleasant. You certainly won't go hungry after eating here. It was delicious!
google avatar

Maria A.

Yelp
First time trying Turkish food I will definitely try it again. This place is so nice, clean the ambience is calm, the food amazing and the girls sweet

Marilyn T.

Yelp
Very friendly, quick service. They do a great job on a busy Sunday morning. My husband got the potatoes and meat with Kavurma which was delicious. I got the menemen which was tasty but too tomatoey for me. House coffee and homemade bread was great, although it would have been nice to have something to spread on it. I got the Sultan tea which was pretty flavorless. Would definitely try again because of the unusual menu items.
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
Had a delicious meal here earlier today. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Staff were lovely and the prices were reasonable. I'd love to go back and try the Turkish breakfast for two next time.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Loved this place - first off, the house coffee was bold and super thick, almost like syrup which is how I like it. The potatoes were crispy, the salad fresh, and the omelet with avocado (they have tons of other toppings) was savory and filling. Charming interior and decor, and quick service make this a go to breakfast stop. Well done! Please check them out.

Yelp
Second time here and food is great and at a good price. Comfortable ambience. Service was okay.

Yelp
The food was fast, fresh, and fantastic. The service is top-notch and very friendly. I always look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
This delightful Turkish Breakfast place is definitely worth a trip. They have a full page of Turkish Breakfast items that were fabulous. Two of us split the "Turkish Breakfast for Two" which was shared plates of menemen, eggs, vegetable plate, olives, cheese plate with their homemade Turkish bread. Fabulous (the eggs are buried in the dish.) Note this is across from their full service restaurant which I didn't try.
google avatar

Matt N.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious brunch. Very generous portions and fairly priced. Will definitely come back. Their menemen is fantastic. An absolute must try while in Pittsburgh. Come early as a line does develop later in the morning/early afternoon. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

April R.

Yelp
Such a lovely breakfast spot. Delicious food, attentive and friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. All employees appear to their job which made the atmosphere even more welcoming. The turkish coffee and breakfast for two were lovely. We bring family and friends here to expose them to some of the best things in Downtown Pittsburgh.
google avatar

Nora P.

Yelp
I'm really glad that I came here! I ordered the breakfast panini and tomato soup. The food was very flavorful and fresh. This spot is casual and quiet which I loved. The staff were also really friendly. They gave me a complimentary Turkish coffee that was delightful. If you are looking for something affordable without substituting food quality then you need to try this spot. I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
The service was fast and she was very sweet! I definitely recommend this place is you're looking for delicious coffee! I got a breakfast panini, came with a side salad it was so good! when i come back to Pit next year im definitely coming here again

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful and filling two-person breakfast with Menem including sausage and cheese. Everything was wonderful, and wonderfully distinct when compated to 'standard' brunch fare. Highly recommended!
