I’m currently 3 1/2 months pregnant and was craving a slice of strawberry shortcake, so yesterday I went in the store to purchase some. Shortly after my purchase I took a bite and immediately the cream tasted off. Took another bite and this time as I was chewing the strawberry tasted old and soggy. Took another piece off with my fork to inspect it and sure enough the strawberry looked like an expired strawberry and smelled awful. Immediately went in the trash and my money was wasted. Two hours later I’m puking my brains out and constantly on the toilet. Now I’m in the ER because I might have food poisoning. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves! Clearly nothing is fresh in that bakery and putting others at risk.

The pastries were acceptable; however, a fresher product would enhance the flavor profile. The current pastries exhibit a noticeable refrigerator odor and taste, which is undesirable. I recommend placing baking soda boxes in all refrigeration units to mitigate this issue. A five-star rating would be warranted if the refrigerator taste were absent.#bakingsoda

Stopped by here late, was surprisingly still open. Ordered some assorted cookies, rainbow cookies were sugar free and cannolis. Everything was way better than expected. The cannoli shell was so fresh, the rainbow cookies tasted perfect. The Nutella cookies were a great combo. 10/10!

First off… my first time here and 1 of the cashier is rude… not only that but we ordered Oreo cheesecake and got something else… cookies are not fresh and my pastry was not good… extremely soggy… omg..if I could give 0 stars I would BUT the atmosphere and environment was good..// Turnt off completely…..

I bought Christmas cookies for the staff at the VA hospital and was greatfull that the bakery was open. The gals behind the counter did a nice job selecting 2 pounds of cookies and boxed them up quickly! Always a line here, so be patient and kind when ordering!

I wish I had taken a pic of the whole cake, but you get the idea. This is my first time buying from this bakery, and this particular cheesecake does not disappoint. It is absolutely delicious. The cheesecake was baked perfectly, and the strawberry topping was exactly what I wanted. The strawberries could have been sweeter but that's ok. It all balanced out.

Great place, definitely worth visiting. Been their customer for years. Hundreds different cookies, pastries and cakes. You'll love it. Sfogliatellas are amazing, they make those with two different cleams. Napoleon pastry is great. Those little things with berries in it, forgot the name, are something I never skip when go there. Upside-down cake is moist and flavorful.

I have liked their pastries and cakes in the past, but my recent experience has completely turned me off from them. I’ll never support their business again. I ordered a cake for my sister’s bridal shower about 2 weeks in advance. When I went to pick it up, the person who took the order had filed it under the wrong date. So after 15 minutes of fumbling, (making me quite late) they asked if I could wait 40 minutes for them to make it. I sent my husband back to pick up the cake, and instead of writing “showers of happiness” they wrote “showers and happines”. My husband had to point out that happiness has two “s”. He didn’t think they would be able to fix “and” so he brought the cake to the shower. I had him go back and tell them to fix it. They “fixed” the cake, but then the grooms name was spelled incorrectly. After 3 trips to the bakery, the cake finally did arrive at the shower with everything spelled correctly, but it was severely underwhelming. The cake was dry, the writing was plain and small, and the trim was sloppy and sliding off the cake in places. I’m sorry I even paid a deposit for the cake because it was just awful and the service was horrendous. Moral of the story is to support local independent bakers who take pride in their work instead of businesses who don’t care at all about service.

I grew up in Mill Basin but have been living in Harlem for 11 years; 11 whole years without their delicious 7-layer cookies (or as I like to call them, rainbow cookies)! On a recent visit to see a relative, I had to stop by and grab some, and I'm thrilled to say they're just as amazing as I remember. While so many things have changed for the worse since the pandemic, their cookies remain the best; rich, flavorful, and absolutely worth it. My only regret? Not buying more! Ambiance; when you walk in there are cakes and cookies everywhere making it hard to stay focus A few tips: They're CASH ONLY, so come prepared. The service was fine, but there's no seating area, so plan to enjoy your treats elsewhere. Trust me, these cookies are worth it!

Even if this place were not next to La Torre, the best gourmet Italian grocery store in Brooklyn, I would still come here. Very clean inside, very friendly staff, & all the baked goods are too good - VERY difficult to decide what to get, & everything is mg favorite, but right now I am all about their autumn pies. Also - the bad reviews here seem to be primarily about their custom cakes, which people feel are too expensive, & did not match their request. I can only say that custom cakes are time consuming to make & not cheap, & their off-the-shelf cakes are already delicious, beautiful, & reasonably priced. I really do look for any excuse to come to this amazing place !

The rainbow cookies were delicious! So glad I stopped by. The store was super clean and very thing was nicely wrapped in the cases.

I grew up two miles away from Aliotta Pastry Shop, not once did we come here for Italian cakes, cookies or pasties. My grandparents had their bread and pastry spots on Avenue L that have since closed. It's St Joseph's Day and I'm on the road. Hey, I'm team Sfinge so I want something good. C'Mon, its Brooklyn after all! Just a note, any established Italian Bakery front has flair. It feels like you're walking into a theatre on Broadway! Once you're inside, man its on. There is a big sign: all ingredients are from Italy. Everything looks deelish! Cakes, cookies, breads and pastries as much as the eye can see. I see the St Joesph's Pastries, with THREE Sfinge left (Plently of cannoli cream filled available) There is only one counterperson serving and ringing up customers. The phone rang and the woman stopped everything to answer the phone. A little annoying but I'll give them a pass. Also, there are no tables to sit. Conduct your business and GFTO. Old school Italians didn't play around back then! Yet, go to any Panera Bread in Florida and see them all day long reading the paper. I ask for one Sfinge and RAN out of the bakery like a fiend. I went to my car and ripped open the package. First bite was like a hit, sooo good! Happy St Joesph's Day to everyone. Aliotta Pastry Shop, I would've liked to known you, But I was just a kid.. I used to buy cakes here..Bought my eight year old son a Birthday cake today, it was the worst experience. The new staff hardly spoke english , the was someone cleaning and scraping dust all near the pastries, i bought a pretty but stale cake and frozen solid after 4 hours of purchase, it was supposed to be a cannoli filling. It was like melted store bought vanilla ice cream as if the freezer had it melt and refrozen, the cake itself was bitter from being stale..im done here..threw $40 away fast and ended up with my son and everyone having a bellyache in the end...Thanks Aliotta Happy Birthday!!!

Cash only. I got pignolis and these little pecan pie bites with a shortbread cookie base. The pignolis were $32/pound (I believe). At half a pound, I got 11 cookies. I got 2 of the pecan bites. My total was ~$19. They've been around for a while so clearly they're doing something right. Not sure how their prices compare to other Italian bakeries in the area, but they pastries I got tasted great. Docking a star since they're cash only & the service wasn't good.

Second time coming to this establishment on visiting family. I ordered the danish cherry/blueberry danishes and also the apple cinnamon rolls. The service was good and the lady was extremely nice. The ambiance look like a cake palace lol with all the fresh cakes and cookies that I saw. Just a wonderful place and I recommended this for everyone that is visiting Brooklyn NY or even ordering it online.

If you are craving for Italian pastries in Brooklyn this is the place to go! Location: It is located in Avenue N. The inside has a lot of displays of pastries! No seatings inside. Just go and order! Service: she was very nice and attentive, does not rush you to pick. Food: Everything was good and delicious! We ordered RAINBOW COOKIES: it was good! Soft and not that sweet unlike other rainbow cookies! PIGNOLI COOKIES: this is my favorite the inside of this cookies are soft while the outside has a crunch because of the pine nuts! Also this is not sweet! I also got FREE CANNOLI! You have to check in and show it to them, the cannoli was fresh and cream inside was not that heavy! Price rating: 7/10, its not bad for all the goodies I will definitely come back to try other pastries and sweets! But definitely will buy pignoli cookies! FREE Cannoli when you check in!

I got a few desserts from here. They are good. I got a cake one so it wasn't so good. But if you go there, they have cakes on sale for different prices which are good.

Stopped in here for a quick sweet snack and they did not disappoint I definitely recommend this place if you are in the neighborhood

It was my first time here. Everything looks so good!! I tried these cookies with like Carmel in them they were to DIE FORR. The girls at the counter were really helpful on answering all of my questions! This place is a must everything looks nice and fresh.

I love this pastry shop. My favorite is the rainbow cookies . I'm from Brooklyn and now I live in Las Vegas and they ship. My only issue is I have to order when the weather gets cooler here because in 110 degrees they melt

Aliotta used to be the best. Perfect every time. However in the last year or so, their quality has dropped drastically. Many pastries are hard and crumbly, obviously not fresh. The quality of the chocolate has also degraded. Three time my orders were absolutely STALE. C'mon Aliotta, at your prices there is no excuse. What happened?

Aside from the cookies being delish, the service is absolutely old school and outstanding. I screwed up my order and Maria called me to correct it. I made another mistake with the wrong address and again, Maria helped me fix my second problem. Absolutely reccommend Aliotta!! They are the best!

Awesome Italian bakery with a huge selection of traditional cakes and pastries such as cannolis, tiramisu, lady fingers and many new twists as well. Girls at the counter are super friendly. They do a very high volume so you know everything is fresh.

This is a very nice place. The pastries and cakes were delicious. Service was good as well. Staffs were patient. I would definitely come here again.

Went here for dessert on Sunday at 9:00pm but the place was closed. The website says the bakery is open everyday till 9:30 pm. It is never a good idea to lie to customers because that is how you lose business. Either update the hours on your website or do what is promised as a neighborhood bakery.

Stopped by after having dinner across the street recently. We checked in on yelp and got a free cannoli! That was delish even a full day being in the fridge. We love some raspberry jam cookies and those were so so fresh and crumbly/buttery. But then we got another type of butter / sugar cookie and those were definitely not the freshest. In fact, they were somewhat stale and I guess this would be a hit or miss given the various options to choose from. We also felt the service could have been a bit friendlier because we didn't get acknowledged even after the customer ahead of us left.. until.. yea it took a bit too long which was unfortunate. I would come back and give it another try since it was affordable compared with the Kosher Bakeries by where I live.

I ordered the signature red velvet, 2 classic american cheesecakes, 1 tiramisu slice, and 1 old fashion bluberry muffin. Ordering through seamless, there were pictures for every single item. I have to say, I had low expectations for the red velvet. In the picture, it looked pretty hard. However, it was terrific. It was a rectangular slice with one white chocolate on the top. In fact, the portion left me feeling like it was too much- too heavy. But, i'm not complaining since I could just eat half and save the rest for later. Big portions are never a problem. In the seamless pictures the cheesecake seemed small but it's actually pretty tall in height so even if it's width isn't that much, the height makes up for it. Do note that there is no graham cracker on the bottom like regular cheesecakes. I thought the tiramisu would be more textured because of the seamless picture, but it was like regular tiramisu.

Trusting this place for a fondant cake for the first time was the worst mistake, I pre ordered a week prior and I had my friend pick up the cake since this place do not offer delivery, when I tell you how hurt I felt when I seen it it was a terrible sloppy cake I can't fathom the melting icing on top with poor rose details. I was embarrassed in front of my guest this was a surprise for my fiancé, and I want to warn people so they won't go through this experience. Let the pictures speak for themselves( the first pic is what I wanted vs mess I received. A waste of $130. The cake displays inside this bakery is false advertisement!!! Poor customer service!! A piece of advice to you, is to never pre pay before receiving a cake !! Worst mistake I did!! P.s I haven't made a review before until now, more like 0 stars

Our cake came out amazing, both aesthetically and in taste! I don't think I've ever seen such a beautiful cake before but I may be biased since it was my wedding lol. The flowers on the cake were from Avenue J Florist.

I drove an hour from Nassau County to buy fresh pignoli cookies yesterday and they were stale and hard to chew. First time ever I was disappointed in the Aliotta Pastry Shop. Still a family favorite despite this experience.

I live a few blocks away and I ordered an overpriced tray to be delivered to Rosewood. I used the site and it auto completed the order to ship to my house instead of my sister's house. I had to call them and fix this, they could not understand the address. I then had to text them the correct address. Then I called again to make sure it was shipped. They assured me it was, but there is no tracking information. They told me to call again for a tracking number. I asked again, are you sure this is going to Rosewood? This is really ridiculous. I should have just bought the cookies and shipped them myself!!!! So beware of the "we ship anywhere" they might just ship it to the aliens at Area 51

Ordered 4 slices at work for a friend for her bday. Delicious cake, fast delivery, great options. Would recommend! Tried the chocolate mousse cake slice, Tiramisu slice, Italian cheesecake and strawberry graham cracker ganache--Can't pick a favorite slice, all were great! Friend was happy

I ordered the strawberry cheesecake twice.....first time was on a whim...so what had happen was...I forgot the person's birthday and found this bakery on Ubereats. It's her fav kinda cake. We had a quick celebration. She had no idea....about the cake or me forgetting The second order was a week after for my sister's birthday.... another cheesecake fanatic ‍. Both times the cake was perfect..... strawberries were FRESH, LARGE and SWEET....The cake itself was not too sweet. Personally, I'm fine with one slice a year and I approve. In fact, the cheesecake lovers previously mentioned, approved!...

Wow! So happy to have stumbled upon this place after taking my grandparents to get their second vaccine in the neighborhood. So many scrumptious looking treats to choose from!! I ended up deciding on the carrot cake and the assortment of macaroons. The carrot cake was moist on the inside and PERFECT -- not too sweet or butter creamy. Haven't had a bOmb carrot cake since Lloyd's Carrot Cake up in the Bronx. I'm impressed and can't wait to try their other sweet offerings!

Amazing bakery with a large variety of cakes, cookies, and pastries. This was my first time, and I was very impressed with everything. The apple pie especially was amazing. The service was quick and efficient. Will definitely come back.

This place is pretty hit and miss. The sandwich cookies tend to be on the stale side.. The cannolis are perfection, there's a tiramisu cup that is sinfully tasty and the chocolate mousse cake is melt in your mouth delicious BUT.... when they're bad? Omg it is epic. A few weeks ago I ordered raisin cinnamon rugelach and they were amazing! I ordered the same thing a few days later, except I also added an order of the raspberry rugelach. This time the raisin cinnamon rugelach were some horrible bready things with barely a raisin to be seen and no taste. Disgusting. However, the raspberry ones were awesome. Yesterday I ordered 3/4 lb of the raspberry rugelach. I paid $14.95 and received 4. FOUR!!! That's $3.74 for each one!!! What?!?! The crazy thing is that when I ordered less raspberry rugelach, I got more than I did yesterday. I just can't stand the inconsistency. My advice, definitely give this bakery your business, just stay away from the cookies and anything they sell by weight.

They are a hit or miss. Some days cakes are fresh some days they taste old and are disgusting. I wish they would just not sell old baked goods. I've tried the tres leches, Oreo slice, strawberry cheesecake, and a few other slices. And to make it worse my family ordered me a vanilla birthday cake from here that was delivered to my home in the morning. It looked so beautiful but it was the oldest driest cake I've ever had. Just go to the supermarket and get an Entenmann's boxed cake or a Bjs cake for a birthday gift. Not worth the gamble anymore, I've moved to Carvel down the block when I want something sweet.

Cake for lunch! Once you enter, everything smells amazing and all the sweet scents collide. I walk in knowing what I want but then I see all the mouth watering options and reconsider! I enjoy coming here when I have a sweet tooth especially after the gym. Other than their cheesecake cupcakes, my favorite is their tiramisu! It is very light, soft and fluffy. The 'tiramisu' tag is so cute and made from white chocolate I think. The red velvet on the other hand can get a little dense but is still satisfying. I like their packaging. Your favorite Italian/American desserts are here. Cannoli trays, cookie trays and more. By the way, they don't accept card, cash only! I can't wait to try their cookie trays.

One of my longtime favorites! My sister gets me a cannoli or red velvet cake almost every year for my birthday from here. I haven't stepped inside in a couple of years. So we stepped in and I couldn't help myself. Everything is so beautiful and tasty! And extremely affordable! A mini cheesecake, two raspberry macarons, two mini cannolis, and a slice of chocolate mousse cake all for $14!!

Trying to purchase thing online doesn't do this place justice. Pastries are outstanding and are affordable when you by in person. Unlike most places,it's cash only, when you go into the shop. But if you don't have cash on hand they do have an ATM in the shop. When I'm in Brooklyn again I will be visiting this place.

Cookies are not as good as they used to be, I'm not sure if they changed owners but they are now cash only which is fine but don't yell at me and scream "cash only" when I try to hand you my card! The woman who helped me wouldn't even look at me when she gave me my change. With all the pastry shops in Brooklyn I won't be back.

Another stop on the Brooklyn culinary tour while decked out with a mask. We came to Aliotta when our usual bakery in the neighborhood was closed. The staff is friendly and they have a huge selection of cookies to choose from. The fruit tarts also looked good but we skipped those. I can tell they're probably known for their cakes since they were in the display window and pre-made in a fridge inside. We decided to get an assortment of a pound of cookies and half a pound of rainbow cookies (my favorite). It was then I noticed this place is cash only with an ATM within ($2.50 fee). I understand old school places such as there prefer cash only but I'm a plastic gal myself. We got cash and decided to still get our order. The rainbow cookies are yummy but the assorted cookies are not that great. Some tasted stale, others had a filling that would rip out your dental fillings. I would come back here for the rainbow cookies, yes, and maybe one of their cakes. Just skip the assortment of Italian cookies and don't forget to bring cash.

Worst service rude and upsetting. They didn't have my item and requested me to cancel the order. Refused to help and slam the phone in my face. Don't order on Uber from this place. Super bad experience.

I would give zero stars if I could. It is very much unacceptable to own a bakery and have the writing on the cake look like this. The writing is awful and the cake is tiny to be charging $100. The cake actually taste how it looks, TERRIBLE! If you are looking for a rainbow cookie cake, please go to Lulu's in Long Island. There you will get size, cost, and a beautiful cake both structurally and with writing. I would not recommend this cake to my worst enemy. NEVER AGAIN!!

I'm not a cannoli person but this place converted me. A friend brought a box of the chocolate and vanilla cannolis and they were delicious. The filling is a rich ricotta with chocolate chips. The shells have a nice amount of cinnamon to balance out the creme. Really beautiful presentation too, I loved receiving these

Amazing, authentic, and very homely style Italian pastry shop. The black and white cookies are everything! The service is very friendly and accommodating and they even have sugar free and dairy free option. One thing to note however, it is a cash only business. If you don't have cash with you don't worry as there is an ATM machine there but you have to be mindful of the $4 withdrawal fee.

Glad I found this local Italian bakery because my son is obsessed with rainbow cookies And I used to literally drive all the way to Bay ridge just to get him some. But luckily my spot is walking distance from my place and I'm able to get them for him. I had a slice of their tiramisu and it was OK not the best , I wouldn't purchase it again. Only reason why I didn't give them a full 5 star is because it's cash only and a little inconvenient in 2021 when Almost everyone walks around with little change in their pockets and their card. Other than that the rainbow cookies are really Delicious and the staff is very friendly.

I was craving the Italian Rainbow Cookies (Cakes).... The three multi-colored layered cake secured together with jam and chocolate on top. I called them up and they told me come on in we have them! When I walked in, everyone was extremely friendly and I was pleased with the presentation of baked goods! It was right before Thanksgiving and they had Turkey Shaped Cakes! Call me lame but I was impressed lol! In addition to the 1 pound of Rainbow Cookies we ordered a small Strawberry Short Cake Cup. In my opinion, it was a little dry, but bae said it was good. The rainbow cakes were delicious, I do prefer them with sprinkles on top butttt the extra sugar was not missed. ALSO THEY ARE CASH ONLY!!!

The lemon merengue was so light and airy. Perfect balance of sweet and tart. We have been searching for one as delicious as my late grandmother's and we have finally found it.

Worth the trip for the cheesecake and the spretzle - vanilla or chocolate iced... just discovered recently - pignoli tart/cake w almond paste...a hit everywhere I've brought it to and tastes especially good with coffee

I love this place! This is a true pastry shop in every sense. Places such as these are so rare, from the delicious homemade food to the awesome service! First parking isn't too hard to find, lots of residential street parking and meters along the main strip. The outside of the shop is very eye catching! Like, I could just sit there and drool looking over how yummy it looks. Inside the shop is small but spacious, lots of different Italian pastries, pies, cakes and cookies! The young ladies working there are so nice. It so refreshing. Food wise my favorite are strawberry cake and the cheesecake. The cheesecake is super creamy, like nothing Ive had before. Overall? Come here for some good desserts. They have many larger pies and seem to do custom orders as well. Also, the to-go boxes are precious and done with such care. However, do be aware that it is a cash only type joint.

The cookies were stale. Haven't been here for a couple of years. I brought six different types of cookies and they were not fresh at all.

If you want to find the world's best pastry's it's aliotta! They have a full line of cakes, pastry's,cookies and danishes ( highly recommend). They are always willing to go above and beyond for their valued customers, not to mention the staff is lovely and they are immaculate!
