Yelp
Ambiance is worst than a medieval gruel eating place. Dark and gloomy, dirty tables, and not an encouraging/welcoming place to eat.
Out of so many Trinidad staples ie: doubles, pholorie, aloo pie, and much more. The answer from the lead lady was that it was Sunday ma boy and they go home early, so they don't make this and that. And I saw some macaroni pie asked for a slice, but was told "no", it's reserved for plate meals. Then why have it on the menu advertised as being sold by the slice?
You would never go to a Mexican restaurant and hear that they are out of tortillas, out of salsa, out of tacos, out of gotditas, so give me a break Ali's Trinidad "great food."
Same Trinidad excuses. If you have a menu, then provide what you advertise, or take it off your menu, or close down the place.
Good credit to Double A'S on Fulton or Royal Bakery, they have every single thing that they advertise.
Shame on you Ali's, I came all the way from California and wanted to enjoy a plethora of Trinidad eateries and food, Ali's you are horrible, you should be ashamed. Take a week off shut down your places, retrain yourself, your staff, and make a commitment to changing your behavior.
And watch, some Hispanic/American/other non Trinidadian group who know how to run a restaurant, acquire Trinidad food making skills and take over the so called market you think you have cornered.
