Food here is amazing and worth the long wait. 5 stars for 5 reasons 1. The lamb gyro was absolutely delicious! Meat was juicy! The sauce, tomatoe, onions and fries in the gyro was a perfect blend! 2. Fries are perfect! Crispy and just my type of fries-boardwalk style 3. Relatively fast service 4. Good customer service 5. The price is really good for the amount of food you get!

Visiting DC with the family and decided to give this restaurant a try. The restaurant has pictures posted on the side of the counter, and we went ahead to order. I pointed at the pictures and said I wanted the one with the rice, chicken, salad. The guy rudely asked with very loud voice(almost yelling) saying I can’t see what you are saying. Which one do you want? Well, the one with everything I said. He then repeatedly asked which one with very loud and threatening voice. If a restaurant is going to post pictures for customers, they better know what they posted to help with the customers order. The guy clearly doesn’t want to service people and is on his phone. What a shame. I don’t even want to try their food anymore.

Mid food for the price. Got the pork belly meal for $20 which turned out to be the same ingredients and proportion as the $14 gyro just deconstructed. Pork was dry, rice was cold. Not the best experience. Pretty sure they gave me chicken instead of pork, not fatty at all. The black isn’t char, it’s just burnt. Incredibly disappointed.

I was a little surprised by the price at first -- but the chicken was so delicious! Definitely worth it.

Food was very good, but not quite worth the price. Ordered the chicken gyro and Greek fries, came out to $20.90

Food was very good. Service was horrendous. Mom ordered first while everyone else decided what/where to eat. Cashier asked if that was all mom said yes, then I said Grandma wants. Cashier got super upset told my mom in rough tone "thats why asked if that was it" he then ripped the order he had hung put and made a production of throwing it out. Everything went down hill from there. We asked for 2 gyro combos, he gave us 1 combo and charged for soda seperate on the other one and didnt give us the salad. We asked for extra sauce, he turned towards cook as though he didnt understand us, cook told him sauce was in the gyro. Didnt give us extra sauce, we were ok paying for it. Unfortunate bc we would have returned, but not at risk of seeing him again.

Google
Greek fries at Alitiko are sooo good. Have to get next time you're at Western Market.

Yelp
I'm not even sure why I haven't visited this place before because I'm always at Western Market. But, better late than never! First, customer service was excellent and the staff were welcoming and did a great job at giving recommendations on their top dishes for first-time visitors. Cost: it's the price that I expected for the area but the portion was way more generous than other places. Ambiance: it's in Western Market so on a bad day it's packed with hungry students lol but on a good day, you can get your order without a headache...I was there on a good day! Food: I ordered the grilled chicken meal which came with rice, cucumbers with tomatoes, and pita chips. Grilled chicken: JUICY and so well seasoned Rice: TASTY! I'm obsessed lol Cucumber and tomatoes: the tangy dressing complimented the mixture and made the salad so delicious. Pita chips: BABY! Give me an entire box of this and I'd be happy. These were the BEST pita chips I've ever had and they had such a delicious seasoning on them. The entire meal was beyond filling and could have actually been shared. But, I ate it all and smiled from start to finish! My tummy agrees...I will be back!

Yelp
Food isn't bad (fresh but pretty bland) but it is quite pricey. They need to figure out their assembly process--it took 25 minutes to get a simple pita sandwich order, and it wasn't even that busy (i.e. no line to order when I got there but plenty of people waiting).

Yelp
Good Greek fast casual and good portion. I've been to western market numerous times and it's good to see there are other options besides chicken sandwiches, pizza, etc.

Yelp
Great spot to grab some lunch. The owner was there when I was there and he was super nice helping me navigate the menu. I got the lamb meal which was fantastic. Braised lamb with excellent flavor over fries. If you're looking for the move: grab a little malt vinegar and old bay for your fries on the way out.

Yelp
Best Gyro that I've had in DC. The lamb is tender and bursting with flavor. The chicken gyro was also solid. They did raise prices so one lamb gyro is $15 (versus $3 in Athens) but I'll be back to try the pork next. Great pita, delicious fries, and great tzatziki. Service is quick and there's never a line (summer when GWU kids are out).

Yelp
The lamb sandwich was fantastic. I cannot wait to go back to try the other items! Thank you!

Yelp
The customer service is horrible. The guy in the front needs to have a better attitude. Besides the service, the food is great

Yelp
Having paid over $20 for a meal, I should not still be hungry after eating it. While the food was delicious the small portions are a deal breaker

Yelp
Amazing food! Newer restaurant in Western Market! Must try! The Gyro is very flavorful and the side of fries are great! Portions are large especially for the price point.

Yelp
I am crushed that they have raised the price of my favorite chicken gyro from $9 to $11. I saw that today and just walked away to get something else.

Yelp
This spot opened about a month ago in Western Market. It wasn't too busy and I stopped by and ordered the chicken gyro. It was very tasty and came with tzatziki, fries, tomatoes, onions, on a flatbread. For $9 it's worth the price; nothing to complain about. They should put their location on google maps.

Zukhruf T.

Yelp
Western Market location: Food was good, but the portions were way too small. The chicken gyro meal was $17 and it didn't even come in a flatbread - just over a bed of rice. The side was cucumber and tomato salad which was tasty, but again the portion was too small. The meal should have been $12 - I was expecting much more food and left feeling hungry and therefore disappointed. Falafel Inc next door is a better bang for your buck.

Yelp
Amazing gyros! I go here for lunch a few times a week. Owners are super friendly if you happen to run into them.
