The vibe shifts slightly in the evening, becoming more intimate and sultry, with dim lighting and a lively yet not overwhelming ambiance. I ordered the truffle pasta and was absolutely blown away. Rich, decadent, and perfectly cooked—every bite was like a little piece of heaven. My dining companion had the grilled salmon, which was cooked to perfection: crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside, and served with a light yet flavorful sauce that complemented the fish beautifully. One thing that really sets ALK apart, though, is the cocktail menu. Their mixologists are artists in their own right. I tried the “West Side Vibes” (a refreshing twist on a classic gin cocktail) and the “Spicy Sunset,” a tequila-based drink with just the right kick. Both were expertly crafted and beautifully presented. Of course, great food and drinks are only part of the equation. What really makes ALK shine is the service. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about making our experience memorable. Our server took the time to walk us through the menu, offer recommendations, and ensure that every detail of our meal was flawless. It’s rare to find a place where the entire team seems so genuinely invested in your enjoyment, but that’s exactly what you’ll get at ALK. And I can’t talk about ALK without mentioning the rooftop. After dinner, we headed upstairs to catch the sunset, and WOW. The panoramic views of Los Angeles are absolutely breathtaking. Watching the city lights come to life while sipping on a cocktail was the perfect way to end an already amazing evening. In short, ALK is everything you want in a West Hollywood dining experience: trendy but not pretentious, elevated yet approachable, and bursting with flavors that will keep you coming back for more. It was date night. This was our first time. I was a little disappointed that this wasn't a stand alone resturant. It was a lobby bar with some restaurant seating. The musicians were good but very underwhelming. Advertised as Jazz night while dining, but it felt very impersonal and an afterthought. Wish we hadn't dressed up for this is a very casual place. Thankful the service was great and the food was tasty.

When we got there we thought we were in for a good service and a good time. It took them a while to just give us water and start our drink orders (there were only two other tables seated when we were there). The restaurant has HUGE open doors which is really nice but 1. it’s almost 100 degrees outside right now and 2. the amount of flys that came in was awful. We ended up ordering the lamb lollipops and chicken wings - the food didn’t taste as good as it looked but the drinks were tasty - we got the Strawberry Bellini’s. But we only had a few bites of our whole meal because the flies got overwhelming to us - they would land on our food, the table, everywhere. We spent more time swatting the flies away than actually eating. The flies became too much so we left after a few bites. Overall, the speed of service, quality of food, ambience, and the amount of flies made this a disappointing visit.

We had dinner there. The food was good, but the service was roughly about non-existent. The waitress didn’t pay attention to our table at all. We sat for 15 minutes before we could make eye contact with her to order food. She didn’t ask how good our food was or offered to refill our water cups. We tipped anyway because the food was good. But the service has a big room for improvement.

While staying at The Godfrey we decided to have Sunday brunch at ALK and it was not a disappointment at all. From the bottomless mimosas & “build your own” Bloody Mary’s, the 3 course brunch…. everything was delicious. They had a live acoustic performer, who was amazing.. The entire experience was just right.

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant. Unfortunately, this restaurant fell woefully short in most areas. Went on Valentine's Day, big mistake. After being neglected for the first 20 minutes, our waiter came by and hurriedly took our order (no introduction, no anything) Courses came out fast... like super fast- you can tell they "prepped" a step further than supposed to, perhaps to the point of which you would call it pre-made. The first course arrived literally (not embellishing) a minute after we ordered, drinks came 5 minutes after. The dishes (off of a 4 course tasting menu) though maybe well thought-out, were poorly executed both in flavor and in its presentation. Steak and fish came out around room temp. Desert was just plain bad. No point in going on about the dishes (ganache and pear tart) as they only existed (I assume) for the special dinner. Truly, it was terrible. The staff moves around in a rush, creating a hectic environment, almost guaranteeing a tense vibe and an utter failure at delivering a nice dinner for Valentine's Day. The server was overwhelmed and did his best, but the service was nowhere near on par. Mostly felt abandoned the entire dinner. This restaurant doesn't hold up. They have a captive audience at the hotel. God Bless them. A.L.K. gave me no reason to come back.

Got an açaí bowl and fruit plate to go. Fruits were fresh but the açaí blend was a little too sweet for my preference.

The best French toast ever. I almost have 4 stars, because it took them 24 min on the clock to get my food. My coffee got cold, but the French toast was amazing. Friendly staff

I came here for a b'ness event, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the service was. My colleague and I had drinks and snacks at the downstairs bar after the event. Jerry took excellent care of us. At the upstairs lounge, Patrick always made sure we had a drink in our hands. The lady who arranged our event was super nice and extended our time by 1/2 hour bc we were having so much fun. The light apps were tasty too inc sliders, fries, wings, chicken skewers, coconut shrimp and crab cakes. After we grabbed a late snack downstairs, we went back upstairs on the 7th Floor, and the place was poppin on a Thu night. It wasn't overly crowded, but a sufficient size crowd to mix & mingle. I'm going to have to remember The Godfrey the next time I'm in Hollywood. I'd like to hit the upstairs lounge again for an afta party.

The Godfrey held an "end of summer" rooftop party with dj's that went til 2am during my stay. Bumping beats til 2am in open air for all hotel guests to enjoy. Not a great "Guest First" strategy. I thought "Ok, perhaps just a crazy lapse in judgement" Nope. Next day (Sunday) they have ANOTHER ONE: Another private party banger, meaning guests at the hotel that wish to use the pool need to head back to floor one to get a special wristband to get in to this elite hotel pool. What's more, the guests cannot use any pool furniture unless they pay 450 dollars for bottle service... including the chais lounges. Fast forward to 11:30 pm (1 1/2 hours after the party end time), there are still a bunch of guests on the street outside in front of the hotel continuing the party. The hotel's response was abrupt: "Yeah, we're already making the leave." However, still here 30 mins later. It seems the "hotel" puts the revenue it receives from the rooftop club over the comfort (and ability to sleep on a work night) of it's paying guests. Our experience with the Godfrey was fairly clumsy effort at guest services I won't be back and wouldn't recommend to others.

Super cute trendy hotel... almost a little too trendy. Rooms are super nice but tiny. Not meant for a family that's for sure. We wanted to use the pool but it was packed , although the views are breathtaking. Our room did have the view of the Hollywood sign which was fun. We arrived early and they kindly checked us in no problem and gave us the keys early which we truly appreciated. I hate valet parking and they have a valet ONlY hotel. I hate waiting on my car, but the attendant so very kind and helpful so I didn't deduct for that although overnight parking is $55. I deducted a star as we only stayed one night and the TV wasn't working and he said cause it was after hours there was nothing he could do about that unless we changed to change rooms (which no one wants to do late night) . He did offer us a new room with late check out and free breakfast (although breakfast was only until 9am). BUT the hotel is a beautiful hotel and I feel a fair price for the location and quality of room we received so because of this I do recommend this hotel.

We came to LA to go to the Halloween horror nights at Universal Studios for the weekend. I was able to book the Godfrey Hotel through Hotel Tonight and got a great deal. We were able to valet our car and check in to our room with a complementary 2 drink Voucher for the rooftop. We were able to get up there, but we were informed that there was a private event going on so we were able to get the drinks downstairs at their bar. The hotel was in walking distance to Ta restaurant and Mom shelter, which was two of the restaurants we wanted to check out while we were in town. I highly recommend This hotel because it is about 15 minutes away from West Hollywood and 15 minutes away from Universal Studios.

Beautiful room and attentive staff but the neighborhood is a little sketch. If you are looking for a good deal in Hollywood, the hotel is reasonably priced and a couple blocks off the main drag.

A guy walked in our room claiming the front desk made him the key to our room at 4am waking us up and scaring us. The guy claimed we were in his room! We informed the front desk and said they would take a night off. Now their investigation says it didn't happen. They said we left the door open- bullshit! Random guy comes up to the right floor (key card required) and by chance our door is unlocked? We heard the lock mechanism engage like when a maid enters. Another guest complained that it happened to someone in their group too. There is something going on at this hotel. I urge anyone else staying at the Godfrey who has had a mystery person enter their room to come forward. The first manager was nice but the one from two weeks later wasn't. They don't believe us. And they didn't offset the cost Expedia balance. Something is awry!

Nice decor of black and gold theme. Their ambiance with the curtains and modern bathroom space, has a wonderful touch. Got the corner suite room! Their pillows had a wonderful fresh linen smell to them and bed is so soft. Pleasant city view. Late checkout was accommodated. Rooftop lounge is an added swishness, but it was closed for a private event. Restaurant is available. We dined for brunch. Valet parking. Service was there. All in all, an enjoyable time spent here.

The manager- jerrell was so nice and gave us a good service. I highly recommend it on this hotel not only because of the good service but because the place is clean and with a good vibes.

Only reason I'm not giving one stars is because Enrique totally saved the experience (he wasn't even the bartender but everyone's else just walked away/ignored us so he stepped up) Ok if I could give negative stars I would, the rooftop lounge has some of the worst service I've ever experienced The guy bartender with all the tattoos on his arm is really bad, I ordered us drinks before my date arrived and even after my date arriving and us sitting there for a good 10 minutes or so he still hasn't started the drinks even though there was only one other person sitting at the bar We finally called over the hostess after the bartender walked away for the 3rd time and we reordered the drinks and even though she was nice, she wasn't helpful The bartender still took another 10 minutes after us reordering before finally delivering the 2 drinks we wanted (a spicy margarita that was on their menu and a whiskey and coke..... super duper easy) And I tried saying thank you and the bartender just walked away and totally ignored me, didn't even turn his head in my direction and I was like an arms length away, total dick And the drink sucked!!! The spicy margarita tasted like cheap sweet juice and too orangey, it was very whatever Seriously upset we actually had to pay for this experience But thankfully we went downstairs and gave the lobby bar a shot since we were still very thirsty and unsatisfied What was weird is the person behind the bar, didn't acknowledge us just kept cleaning then disappeared into the kitchen...... But thankfully Enrique just stepped up and made a spectacular spicy jalapeño that was exponentially different from upstairs And it turns out he wasn't even the bartender, if the manager is reading this you need to put enrique behind the bar and get rid of that kid who is making your business look horrific

I highly recommend this hotel. The only minor downside was that the rooms were a bit small, but it wasn't a big deal for us since we only needed a bed to sleep in at night. The bathroom in our room was clean and spacious, and we appreciated the mini fridge that came with it. On the rooftop, there are two bars and a pool. The bar that's right by the elevator may also be a restaurant during the day, but it was cleared out in the evening for people to mingle. There's a restaurant and bar in the lobby as well, and there are seats and tables near the front desk where you can wait for your ride shares. Overall, we had a great experience and would most likely stay here again.

The room service was amazing as well as the food at the restaurant downstairs by the lobby and up on the rooftop the poolside service was just luxurious and very convenient! There are a bunch of places to work and study on the roof and in the courtyard and Lobby. The valet and service when you pull up to the front, especially as a woman I loved when valet opened the door for me to get out the car. Highly recommend The Godfrey!!

Stopped off a few times for cocktails at the rooftop pool bar. Review is based on the pool bar. Views are amazing overlooking Hollywood and LA. There's 2 bars, one right when you walk out the elevator. That one wasn't open but the main one right outside the pool. Staff is friendly which is a plus. There's a also food available if needed. Pool is for guest but day pass are available I believed. The few times I've been for drinks has always been nice. Enjoying the view and having a cocktail with friends, what more can you want.

I'm only giving it 3 starts because the staff and service made up for the noise that kept us up all night. I was so disappointed with the noise we could hear from the rooftop bar. The earplugs they left and a pillow over my head didn't help at all. I was told it would stop at 1230 but it went on until 3 AM. My daughters and I hardly slept. If it wasn't for the obnoxious noise, I would have recommended the hotel just because all of the staff was so nice. The room was clean and comfortable. There weren't enough outlets for charging devices. The view of the Hollywood sign was cool. It has some great restaurants near by. We ate at The Stout (it was really good!). I was extremely tired and had to drive for 5 hours the day after. The noise is enough to deter us from returning.

Key did not work upon check in. Wet tissue box in room. Tried to throw it away for a replacement but housekeeper put wet tissue box back in box cover No. Nada. None body wash and housekeeping neither checked nor refilled. Freshened room and took dirty towels without leaving enough for both of us tomorrow. Completely ignored my last text for dry tissue box and body wash. Unless you want a cramped, poorly serviced and overpriced for the value hotel in Hollywood, skip it.

Godfrey, you def exceeded my expectations! I was here with friends and my oh my, i was pleasantly surprised how neat and clean this place was, loved the lobby. Compared to Tampa's Godfrey, this one is 100 times better. We were given 1 drink voucher each which was a good surprise. Room was great, beds were inviting. I seriously have no complaints, i really enjoyed my stay.

The hotel is nice and in a good location. I don't think they have any insulation or sound proof measures. We were on the 4th floor. But there was a party on the 7th floor rooftop. It went on until 3am. Additionally, you can clearly hear street noise and people talking. THEY DID PROVIDE ear plugs! When we got there, it didn't make sense. After the first night, we understood why. Also, they put a $450 hold on our CC for a 3 day stay (guessing it was $150/night?). I went back and read through my reservation and I saw NOTHING about the price of the hold. I expected a hold, just not $450. We travel often with work and holds have never been higher than $50. All in all, not the worst place to stay. But we probs won't rebook with them.

You know those movie scenes where a train rumbles past an apartment and it looks like an earthquake is going down? THAT IS THIS HOTEL--except instead of a derelict apartment, it's a CRAZY-expensive Hollywood hotel, and instead of a train, it's the freaking rooftop pool CLUB that booms bass at all hours upstairs on the 7th floor. Judging by the clientele of said club and their state of dress (or undress), the club is probably VERY cool; but, if you're looking for a good night's sleep, you'd be better off in a NYC subway station, or on an airport tarmac, or perhaps backstage at a Megadeath concert. Ear plugs (complimentary) are no match for this rooftop bar when it's "activated," as the hotel management calls it; and, you never know when they will "activate" it for a new clubbing event. Honestly, this place clearly has its priorities set on being a club rather than a hotel. That's fine, but then please stop calling it a hotel.

This place is not the greatest but has some redeeming qualities. It's actually a beautifully decorated property with great front desk staff, but someone in city planning let this place down when they allowed a night club next door. You will NOT sleep-- guaranteed. And there is no floor high enough or room far enough to escape the banging sounds from the club next door. Trust me, I've tried several room swaps to no avail. To try making up for the uncomfortable stay the front desk promised an elegant experience with drink vouchers for their rooftop restaurant. When I arrived the guy at the bar was blatantly ignored my asking if I could order food and waited about 5 minutes to once asked answer my question without any eye-contact. You would've thought I was his mortal enemy the way his attitude was setup. The manager Anna-Maria really made up for the bartender's shortcomings. She's so great and was incredibly accommodating; even inviting me back to the roof for sunset the next day to enjoy a beverage. It's stunning to watch the sunset on the city from this rooftop and I'm truly grateful for Anna-Maria's pleasant welcome to this experience. (Pictured below)

Stayed here about two weeks ago. LA weather has been crazy but the rooftop here has a great view between the downpour. The room was small but I loved the large shower head and the robes were a nice touch. All the food and cocktails we ordered were tasty and the valet service is prompt and friendly. Only issue was our TV was super weird it only played like 4 channels.

Service very bad. Food was sub par. In room coffee maker was broken and we were told we couldn't get another one. I would not recommend this hotel.

Property was a "VENUE" for Hollywood things- music parties, TicTok Influencers, etc. The lobby was filled with very intoxicated guests in tiny bathing outfits, wet towels when we checked in and the ThumpThump Music for the party in the roof went on until well after 11P. Assured there were no events Sunday so we didnt check out early, the Salsa Party started and went on until 2am! Changing rooms at 10:30pm didnt help with the pulsing walls and thus NO sleep until the 5A Uber to get out of LA. This horrible experience ruined a concert experience and LA for me permanently. No recomp due to booking 3rd party- EXPEDIA! BEWARE and dont stay here unless you are making videos of yourself.

No body soap, Shower door was not opening properly and was broken I left my orange jacket hanging in the closet and a representative from the front desk confirmed via telephone call that they had it. Theft in the hospitality industry is unacceptable.

This was my first time staying at the Godfrey during my April break. Upon arrival, check in was fairly quick, and I was given some drinks / food vouchers. The staff was friendly and helpful and attended to all my needs. The room was very spacious, and the hotel was very modern with great decor. I noticed in the hallways there was fans all over the floor; and a big blue tub of water filled inside it seems like. I wasn't sure what it was, so I thought maybe it was just for a night; but it wasn't my whole entire stay there, there was fans all over the hallway which made it a bit noisy. The staff did not mention any of this and the reason for why there was a bunch of fans in the hallways and I noticed that it wasn't on my floor but it was also on multiple floors. The pool upstairs in the rooftop was relaxing and the views was great. Overall, my stay was okay!

The food service is horrible. We sat for 2 hours with no service at all. We ordered tacos during a Sunday brunch and waited an hour and a half for our food. Whenever we asked a server for some help we were rudely disregarded. This place is beautiful and to be met with such disturbing rudeness was very sad. I understand businesses get busy but this was actually horrendous, I even showed receipt proof of my order and was met with rudeness.

So, I stayed here this past weekend for work. My office set it up for me. I had to check out mid-stay and go to a civilized property This property has been taken over by the " rappers" and " twirking queens" who can't afford The Dream and The W up the street. The loud obnoxious guests disturbing everyone deep into the night and very early in the AM. The nasty stench of weed permeating throughout the entire property. If you are civilized stay away

Situations found us needing a room prior to a show at the Pantages. First tip is if you plan on staying at the Godfrey, go to their website to book there are some great deals that you cannot find on third party booking sites. The hotel is off the main streets so you do not have to fight traffic, and the entrance is very well lit and welcoming. The first thing we noticed is how friendly and welcome everyone is from the Valet, to the Bell and Front Desk staff. You felt the authenticity from the start which made our stay even more pleasant. The lobby area and bar are compact but appointed very nicely. We did not get a chance to try out any of the facilities, but from what we could tell everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We had a single King room, view is nothing to speak of from the 4th floor, but the room was very clean, well lit, and in this day and age lots of outlets. Underneath the bed is the safe and some other amenities. There is no dresser in the room but we were only there for one night so we did not have alot to carry. There is no desk but there is a "foldy thing" that comes down from the wall where you can work or put down any food. Again the room is small, but it does fit a King Size bed and 2 nightstands with a decent amount of walking around room. Rain The bathroom is a good sized, with the Rainfall shower head as a nice touch. Another thing you will notice is that you do not hear any residual noise from other rooms or the hallway. Maybe we were lucky, but made the stay more relaxing. However they do provide ear plugs and an eye mask just in case. Lsstly as we all know there are alot of Homeless in and around Hollywood, but we were able to walk the 3 blocks to Pantages without hitting any Homeless encampments, not planned but definitely relieved. Overall a good venue that provides lost of options for food and entertainment nearby, if you are in the area.

Besides being expensive (it was well priced for LA through) the location was great, the rooftop and pool were nice and spacious and the staff were helpful and friendly. We didn't eat at the restaurants there, so I can't speak to that. Rooms were nice and clean, but not too big. We didn't spend much time in the room though. Beds were comfortable and although I saw some reviews regarding the noise, it didn't really bother us. Slept great! One night the rooftop and pool were closed due to some sort of fashion event. The Godfrey invited all guests to the event though, which I thought was nice. Would recommend staying here for sure!

Wow! Such a beautiful hotel. My girlfriend and I had an AMAZING time celebrating my birthday here. The rooftop is stunning and all of the decor/furniture looks brand new! The bartenders were very friendly, and the food was amazing! I highly recommend the hummus with fresh pita, the bread melts in your mouth! Seriously the best pita I've ever had. The pool was beautiful and the dj played great music. Our room was very nice too! Very comfortable bedding and pillows. The front desk receptionist were very accomading and helpful when we'd give them a call for help with our luggage etc. I highly recommend this gorgeous hotel. We opted to stay at the hotel a few times instead of going out and exploring LA because of how much we enjoyed all the amenities. Overall, we had a great experience however, we did notice several flies on the roof of our bedroom seiling on our last night that grossed me out, and if you're looking to get a good night sleep this hotel might be too noisy for you if your room is along the front of the hotel. We heard sirens blaring, cars, loud partying for hours on Saturday night. Other than that, I can't wait to vacation here again!

Overall this was a great hotel if you want a nice spot only a couple minutes walking distance from Hollywood Blvd. Lobby was really nice, there's a big bar and seating area as well as a huge Christmas tree for the holiday season. The room was nice for the most part, we had two double beds but it was definitely cramped getting around the room and to the far side of the bed. They left us earplugs which I didn't think much of but we got back to our room around 1 am and loud music can be heard very clearly in the room from the surrounding bars/clubs. I went to bed around 3:30am and the music was still going strong. Rooftop lounge is really nice, tons of space and spots for you to hang out. There's a pool and bar on the rooftop as well, small breakfast is also served up there.

Overpriced and Disappointing! I stayed at this hotel over the weekend, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected, especially given the high price. First off, the room was incredibly small, and there wasn't even a closet to hang clothes. It felt cramped and lacked basic amenities that should be standard at this price point. The pool was closed, which was a major letdown, as it was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. On top of that, the "view" from my room was nothing more than a homeless encampment -- hardly what I would expect from a hotel that advertises itself as premium. To make matters worse, when I handed my car over to the valet, they sped off quickly, which left me uneasy. Sure enough, when I got my car back, there was a huge scratch on it. This is a brand-new car that I've only had for less than a month, and now it's damaged. Overall, this hotel was overpriced for what we experienced, and I cannot recommend staying here. Save your money and stay somewhere that actually delivers on quality and service.

Comfortable bed but the rooms are TINY and do not look like the photos. There isn't even a closet. The mini fridge can barely hold a six pack of soda. We booked one of the rooms with a city view, and the Hollywood sign is visible from our window. Other than that we were disappointed.

Such a friendly staff. Beautiful rooftop views of LA. The drinks are good and we always make it a point to come here while we're in LA.

Check in was a breeze, our room was spacious we got a double queen with a tub. The bathroom was huge. I will dream about this shower head. It took me back to when I would go hiking and stand under a waterfall. I didn't want get out. The roof top views were stunning and the pool was warm. The courtyard is beautiful. Loved this hotel!

Just stayed here and had a great experience! I come to LA a lot and was excited to try this Hotel. The hotel is modern and chic. Lobby is nice with a bar and restaurant. Elevators are key access only which I appreciated since I was traveling solo. Rooftop was the highlight of the hotel. Gorgeous. Spacious. Great views. Wow. Every staff member was so nice, from the front desk to the valet to the bartenders. The room is a little small (mostly bed) but it was fine for me. Room was super clean (clean is more important to me than anything), the bed was comfortable, blackout curtains, and plush towels. I saw housekeeping doing very thorough cleanings in other rooms as well. Short drives/ubers to everything which made the hotel super convenient. I would absolutely stay here next time I'm in LA.

Had a family dinner here and the service was great. Staff even helped improve the seating area temperature as it was cool on the rooftop and they used gas heaters! We had people try the sushi, and lobster roll. I ate the poke dish. No complaints about the food at all. Hotel was clean and easy access to the roof via elevator.

We went here for the Super Bowl tonight HORRIBLE SERVICE extremely disorganized FALSE ADVERTISEMENT charging 500 minimum from a picnic table where everyone was blocking the little tv screen ( I have a bigger screen at home ) hyped up prices at the bar where you can't even get a decent drink HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service these people don't know how to sale tables and talk to customers. WILL NEVER BE BACK HERE AGAIN .

I left my electronic items in my room called and Joseph and Thibault moriere said they had my item in the lost and found and then i came two days later and they were both dumbfounded when i asked about my item then had us wait and when we asked for an update Joseph said "put manager doesn't want to come out and deal with you fuys " interesting when u look up his name first two links are "worst stay ever" . don't come here and good luck if u gave to deal with either of these two

Came here for a birthday staycation. The entire staff from the Valet guy to the front desk, bar and restaurant staff were all very welcoming and courteous...... The Godfrey Hotel had me turning left and right admiring not only their outside structure but their deco inside. Parking here is only valet, which was perfect for me. Check-in was a little busy, but the front desk worked their magic and gave us our key literally in less than 3 minutes of walking in, AWESOME!!!!! Fell in love with this Hotel. Everything was great. Room size was small but perfect for us two. One entire wall was this huge window, which we LOVED!!! The rooftop was awesome. The room had everything including wireless phone charging, steamer, safe, great coffee and a fridge. Check out the photos, the Godfrey Hotel is awesome.....

It's true that this place is more affordable than most hotels in LA. The hotel and restaurant are fine, but need to be managed better. It was difficult to get help from the front desk, room service, calling the restaurant, and even to be served while dining in the restaurant. It felt like they were very understaffed. I placed a room service order and an hour later went to go check on it (no one was answering the phone), and they had no record of it. Didn't apologize or anything. The food was very good when we did get it, though. The charger in the room didn't work. The room was small but for the price, fine. We booked the hotel because of the rooftop pool, and it was closed down for our entire stay, 7am to the next morning. Generally a fine hotel for the area.

This place and especially the rooftop has so much potential. However, trying to be a trendy hotel and rooftop miserably failed tonight. After a decent prior experience through an event, we thought we'd give it a try for a drink on the rooftop for their vinyl night ( revive the rhythm). After a semi decent DJ played some 80s stuff, we found ourselves forced to listen to loud Mexican folklore music DJ. Most hotel guests up there left. No offense but if I want to listen to this crappy music then I go to downtown. Paying $20 for their signature cocktail that had none of the ingredients in it listed on the bar menu served in a cheap plastic cup was another bad surprise. That's on the high end for any bar, but ok if you offer the ambience and a good mixed drink. None of that here. Unfriendly, unmotivated staff, badly dressed people. Sadly the place is missing a vibe even though it is designed to be a chic funky place. I can't imagine to have to sleep there, the music was extremely loud and judging from other reviews clearly bothering guests. To be a trendy hotel with a nice rooftop hire a good DJ and/or play some chilled background music.

Great customer service during check in and amazing bartenders/waitresses! Highly recommend!

Facility: Clean, modern Rooms: the room was okay, left pretty dirty from prior stay, didn't have enough supplies ( TP, soap & etc), TV wouldn't work, called for service that never came. Service: staff was stuck up slackers & rude. Overall: not worth the money Go somewhere else.

Beware the added undisclosed $35 "resort/amenities" nightly fee. you will not be informed of this at check out or check in; nor will you be informed of it should you book with a third party travel booking app. Your credit card will be billed when you leave the hotel. Also, an 18% "food and beverage charge" was added to my meals. What? I thought I was paying my food and beverage charge when I paid for my food and beverage. This is NOT listed as a gratuity. such non transparent nickel and dime-ing of guests is abhorrent and unethical. Always ask about these hidden charges before checking into any hotel. Don't pay them! Ripoff. Also, please be careful of the homeless encampments outside the hotel. Sad and dangerous. West Hollywood is cooler, nicer and much less dangerous. watch yourself and please be careful on Cahuenga.

Yea, this hotel is pretty nice however I do not recommend staying here at all!!! First off, they charge a $150 incidental fee which is very steep and takes up to 10 days to be refunded! On top of that, they charge a $35 "amenity" fee which is not disclosed to you. They charge $55/night for Valet when it says $40 on their website. On top of all of this, I just got a random charge on my card without any type of receipt. I had to call and get a receipt to even know what these charges were for. The bar is an absolute rip off ($16 for a glass of Cabernet that tastes worse than boxed wine) they don't let you lower the temperature below 67 in the rooms and the staff is not friendly at all. Overall a horrible experience here and a complete waste of my money. If I knew any of the charges were going to be taken out of my card upfront, I never would have stayed here.

The service and food in the restaurant was on point. The desk staff was friendly. Room was immaculate. Luis Ramos went above and beyond to help me out!! Elisa Juarez definitely needs a shout out for her service as well!!

FYI - I work in a building across the street. If you stay here and want any privacy at all, CLOSE YOUR CURTAINS! The windows on this hotel building are NOT tinted or mirrored/obscured in any way. WE CAN SEE YOU in bed, on the toilet, walking around your room, etc. I just feel bad for the people staying here who may not be aware that they are fully on display! I hope this PSA is helpful.

Let me just start off by saying this is my 5th time staying at The Godfrey Hotel in Hollywood. All my other experiences were great but this time left enough of a bad taste in my mouth that I will not be returning. Check in is at 4, that's understandable. That's most hotels. As I travel to Los Angeles for work I typically arrive in the morning & I'm usually able to check in if the room is ready. Considering it's already PAID FOR. I was greeted flatly and rudely by front desk. I was told I would need to pay a $50 fee to check in early & it would be deducted from a $450 3 night security deposit. I was NEVER told this any other time I stayed here - as recently as January 2023. I had somewhere to be so I had to just accept it so I could check in to my room. I asked them that since I had to pay this made up fee that was never told to me before could I just have a room with two beds over one. "Oh that's an upgrade fee & we have no available room anyways." ??? Upgrade fee when my reservation is for two people. Ok. Also with most standard rooms - one or two beds doesn't matter - the pricing is typically the same or not far off. I travel monthly, I know this. So that's nonsense. I arrive up to my room - it was already cleaned & ready for me. I wasn't inconveniencing housekeeping or anything. The room was READY. You're charging me $50 to issue a key to an already clean room because you see I'm in a rush? I have to pay a fee just to ENTER an already paid for & already prepared room? Four other times I stayed here and arrived early & under similar circumstances & was NEVER told that. For a hotel that decides they want to charge a nightly resort fee that they don't notify you of at check in - it's like PULLING TEETH to get this room clean. First I'm told they do it at their own random discretion which is absurd. So I stepped out for 8 hours & came back... nothing. I request again & asked why it hadn't been cleaned in the first place "oh you had the do not disturb sign on". No, I didn't. I purposely put valuables away & removed the sign & requested the service on my way out. Don't insult my intelligence & gaslight me because you're not doing your job. 30 mins later a random lady comes in to change shower gel, shampoo & conditioner I'm not even using just to say they touched something in the room & this room still has still not been cleaned & I check out tomorrow. Staff is dismissive & mostly unhelpful. I fell in love with this hotel but I'll never come back. There's a ton of other hotels in this area I've booked in the past & I'll stick to those. Making up rules & fees on a whim is extremely financially predatory & confusing. This hotel wasn't new to me & I have NEVER had this experience before. These hotels aren't cheap & I feel taken advantage of. I never requested anything outrageous - just two things that I would expect to do for a room I paid for like being able to check in if the room is ready (if not, understandable but it WAS) & have it cleaned. Never again. Don't waste your time.

The Godfrey Hotel was perfect for an event for a dinner and dancing for a group of people from UCLA. The rooftop was beautifully made up for the night and had a gorgeous view of the Hollywood sign and the city. Jen made the experience of working with the hotel so easy. She always replied extremely fast and was always so incredibly helpful. I could not have done the event without her, she is truly amazing! I would 100% work with Jen again!
