"As the name suggests, the sandwiches here revolve around the kind of loaf that’s ideal for an Italian sub, with that hard, almost waxy exterior and soft, light interior. They have all of the classics, but there’s also a build-your-own option. It’s the perfect place to pick up lunch for a group on the a weekend, on the way to the beach or a playground session at Griffith Park. "

What can I say? This has been one of my favorite sandwich spots if not, my favorite for the past 16 years. always feel Right at home. Rafa The manager is always pleasant and greets everyone with a big smile. People like him is what makes your local sandwich deli a hit. Ingredients are always top-tier. Pastrami and Godfather are my favorite. Call ahead if you want a big order!

Google
not good at all. just tryin to look good. bread texture is off. it rubbery and not fluffy and crunch is tough. im not shark you know toppings all regular boarhead and olive oil and dressing are not intense and i also ordered not skopoped and no mayo and yes oregano, but is seems like you dont care. you are not better than jimmy jongz: you just have blisters on your bread. its not even bread: its just tough breadskin. ew! give me back my 17.95$

Google
Italian-style sandwiches with super-fresh bread that makes the difference. The Godfather is stacked but still balanced. Staff is friendly and quick even when it’s slammed. Not much seating, so take it to go. Metered parking out front is fine for a short stop

Google
Absolute fire sandwiches 🔥🔥 I always choose to dine in here. The staff is always really nice and I always leave satisfied! My go to orders are either the pastrami or the honey lime chicken. You couldn’t go wrong with either!

Google
The best sandwich place in Los Angeles. #1-All About The Bread, yes even above Bay Cities which comes in at #2.

Google
Been a longtime customer! They're orders are ALWAYS on point and the sandwiches are so good.. Love the meatball sub with extra provalone and the Godfather.. Rafael is such nice dude and i'm happy to support this small local shop. Love the new upgraded spot. When my friends are in town we always have to make a stop. Review is a long time coming. Thank you!!

Google
My sandwich was yummy and hit the spot. Loved the bread too so the name fits perfectly. Parking sucks as I had to drive around for a while just to get close to the restaurant to walk in. Definitely a draw back, but loved my sandwich and would go again.

Google
The Milan Salami sandwich is the best thing since sliced bread, literally. We were regulars here until we moved abroad and I’m reviewing this spot from across the world because I’m desperately craving a sandwich from here and there’s nothing nearby that even comes close.

Yelp
I've been coming here for the last 10 years, these sandwiches are addicting. The best sandwiches in LA. The best pastrami in LA by a landslide. Amazing service, super clean inside, great ambiance. The bread is freshly made, a new batch every 20 minutes. If you're ever in the area this is the best spot to go. Big shoutout to RAFAEL and ALAN

Yelp
One of the best sandwiches I have ever tried and amazing customer service! Very clean, professional, and even better vibes!

Yelp
After a long day visiting LA, we were looking for a great meal to order into the hotel. After deciding we would try a local place to get something, we found All About the Bread and ordered it to be delivered. The sandwiches were delivered fast and on time. Soon we were settled in to have huge sandwiches, which some say are some of the best in LA. Let's see how it measures up in my experience. First, I always wanna talk about the vibe of a place. We did not visit the physical location, but looking over the menu and getting familiar with the place, I can tell that this is a sandwich shop that takes itself seriously. Baking their bread, offering premium meats, and toppings. I would love to go inside next time, but I will say even as someone who got a delivered order, the care they take with their brand comes through and is much appreciated. We got two different sandwiches, I got Al's Signature with no mayo, and my partner Elisabeth went wild and got a roast beef sandwich. These sandwiches were super fresh and delicious. The toppings and condiments were laid on with perfection. One of the biggest food sins a sandwich can commit is overfilling, where everything spills out; no spillage here, it's a finely crafted vessel for the ingredients. This is the kind of sandwich that just needs to be carried to your mouth; you don't have to put that much care into the bread. But that's not how All About the Bread played it; instead, they are making some of the most crispy on the outside, moist on the inside bread every day in their store. The bread is what brings this review from a 4-star (would go again) to a 5-star (best in their class that I've had) review. It would be easy with bread like this to sleep on the ingredients; it would be easy with ingredients like this to sleep on the bread. All About the Bread said, "Who needs sleep?" and threw it down hard on both fronts. We tried a few places in our trip to LA, but this was my favorite. This is a sandwich shop that knows what it's doing.

Yelp
Will never come back here again. After I got an order to go, they refused to let me use the bathroom. Apparently, their policy is onlt for dine-in. Manager is on a power trip and petty!

Yelp
Believe this is my second time at All About The Bread -- this time I ordered online and picked up my sandwich in a very convenient back entrance where I was in and out within a matter of 30 seconds. Ordered the godfather this time, stuffed with meats and shredded lettuce. Very yummy, and the regular size is more than enough for one person for lunch. Affordable prices compared to other sandwich shops in LA, especially considering the size, too! I had half and saved the other half for today as I write this review. Still holds up after 23 hours! The bread is good but not like, WOW, for a place called All About the Bread. Still I will return!
google avatar

Yelp
This place was so good! I want this sandwich everyday. The bread was the star honestly hence the name of the place but it was seriously really good bread. I got the option of hot peppers and they were pretty spicy I can handle spice but I kinda picked out some of the peppers so if you have a low spice tolerance I would go with medium or no peppers! They also took my order very quick and I got my sandwich super quick so if you're in a rush this is a good spot to go! Plenty of seating area.
google avatar

Yelp
Hadn't ordered here in a while and was craving some sandwiches so I decided to order the godfather and the hot pastrami for delivery. They were ok, not bad but not out of this world amazing either. I remember the sandwiches tasting better in the past. Can't speak for service or ambiance as I had it delivered by a delivery app.
google avatar

Yelp
Sandwich is affordable and tasty! They make their bread in house. Highly recommend the godfather with the works. It is so delicious! Just wish they would have an ice cup to go with their canned sodas. Staff are friendly and helpful when placing orders. They have a big screened tv and they were showing football the day I went. They have table indoors and outdoors. Small parking lot in front of them that is shared with other shops.

Yelp
Pretty good sandwich spot that definitely fulfills your sandwich cravings. I got the Turkey Club which was rich from the mustard and italian dressing. It was really good and I liked the crisp bread too. The menu was easy to navigate and their Godfather is their most popular sandwich. I also tried their Italian sandwich, my girlfriend loved this sandwich. I probably won't go out my way to get All About the Bread but there's really nothing to complain about, I'm just comparing it to other spots.

Yelp
Everyone says larchmont has the best sandwiches but I disagree, Alll about the bread has the best sandwiches hands down, my favorite would be the godfather & pairing it with a potato salad on the side or the artichoke salad. Service is always 100/10, everyone is so sweet and welcoming which I love & depending on what time you go, you can get a sweet spot outside by the plants. Melrose is always loud but it doesn't bother me as long as my tummy is happy.

Yelp
I'd say this is a 3.5. Free parking in front, a rarity in this area. Nice shop. Little disappointed there wasn't a water station, which Ive seen in most cafes. Service is amazingly fast. Two sandwiches in two minutes?! It IS all about the bread. Very good chew and good crunch. A half sandwhich is more than enough, even for someone who can eat. The tuna with the works was well done; the pickles and bit of heat from the peppers elevated it. Not heavy at all, as is sometimes the case. A fresh flavor. The burrata with homemade pesto was a huge hit. Creamy cheese, superb pesto. This is the one to get!

Yelp
Been going here for a decade now and it's simply amazing! Every sandwich rocks - that fresh bread every 20 minutes is *chef's kids* and my absolute faves are The Godfather w the spicy works, and The Meatball with a side of Marinara! Top it off with Jalapeño Chips & Coke or Cream Soda and you have PERFECTION. Everyone who works here is so professional, friendly, and great human beings - besides the amazing food, this is one of the reasons I have been a regular for so many years. Reliable, consistent, incredibly delicious, the new location/space is so clean and open, seriously nothing not to love!

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches. Love the fresh bread, quality meats, and it's nice and clean inside. Side cucumber salad is so refreshing. P.S. always get the works on your sandwich.

Yelp
Decided to try a new sandwich place for lunch today and had one delivered from here. While I ordered hot it arrived more lukewarm, this is not a fault on restaurant it's actually mine! I didn't realize the location and had it delivered all the way in Glendale! This is just a caution or anyone else wanting delivery so you aren't surprised. That said! I absolutely need to go in person because this was an amazing sandwich. It's so simple too! fresh ingredients and the most perfect crunchy bread I've had yet. Lightly seasoned chicken breast was on mine with thinly shredder lettuce (a secret like of mine), fresh tomatoes, light mayo and salt and pepper. Everything was a cohesive melody that resulted in an enjoyable bite of a sandwich. Honestly I regret not getting one for my mother. But that just means we'll have to go together!

Yelp
Wow this deli like sandwich shop is over the top with delicious fresh bread, clean lovely place with low music so you can chat and enjoy. I had the Godfather sandwich with extra pickles. Owner gave us a free cookie to try. Truly over the top service. This humming bird guy even swooped by with more napkins because well the sandwich was overflowing with goodies inside

Yelp
Need a location in the OC! Definitely live up to their name. It's All About the Bread. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside, perfectly baked and salted. Perfect bread to house the wonderful deli meat. $20 is pricey for a large, but well worth the money. Brought a few loaves to go for a souvenir. Even with to go orders flying out the door, the food was made quickly. The restaurant is perfect to eat a quick meal.
google avatar

Nijole T.

Yelp
The sandwich is here absolutely delicious! The bread is, fantastic, high quality toppings. The sandwiches are made to order in minutes, they have plenty of inside seating and easy parking out front. Absolutely love their tuna as well as burrata sandwich. They are so friendly and welcoming here, not to mention hard-working. Prices are fair, a large sandwich can easily be shared. Great option if you're looking for a casual bite on Melrose!
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
Broke a crown biting into a Godfather. I'll probably get another Godfather when my dentist gives me the ok. Lost a star for the $10k in dental work. Potato salad is also great.
google avatar

Dirk W.

Yelp
It has always been the best sandwich in Los Angeles. It is truly all about the bread (and the peppers). We recently ordered deliver and the bread was hard and the sandwich was not up to its usual standards. At the end the day may a fresh batch for the people who order it for dinner. Live and die by the sword.
google avatar

Jen B.

Yelp
Best sandwiches in LA! All about the bread, indeed. Their bread is outrageously delicious and of course, very fresh. The Godfather with the works is my absolute favorite -- though you can't go wrong with any of their other sandwiches. Service is always great. There's a small parking lot in front. In theory, that's awesome. But I've never been fortunate enough to get a spot because they're always so busy!
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
At 12.95 for cold sandwiches and 13.95 for hot sandwiches I was expecting an amazing sandwich but it was mediocre at best. Their sandwiches definitely didn't blow my mind away and this was my first meal of the day at 3pm so I was hungry. My friend got the cilantro lime chicken and I got the Godfather with the Works. I saw this place blow up on tiktok and I must say it is definitely all about the bread. You can see them baking fresh loaves in the back. The bread was fresh with a crunchy exterior and soft interior. I would 100% come back for the bread but as for the sandwich you can probably get their ingredients anywhere else and make your own sandwich. The cilantro chicken lime lacked a limey flavor and I'm not sure if it's just me but I really dislike warm avocado it seems like they head up the whole sandwich together which really ruined it for me. The heated sandwich was also more rubbery and did not have the crunchy exterior. The Godfather was good but honestly was like any other cold cut sandwich. I definitely would come back only to purchase the bread. I would say compared to Ghost Sando shop that's only .3 miles away this does not compare.

Yelp
Came in for a sandwich, came out with a half pound baby, haha. I ordered a regular size "The Godfather" & it's a good size. Now, as far as the bread, damn, it's a little too crunchy for my liking. I had read this in some of the reviews but still wanted to try it. The flavor is there but the bread is too hard in my opinion which is surprising considering they bake fresh bread every 20 minutes. Anyways, if they fixed this I think they would see an increase in returning customers. Back to the sandwich, I got mine with all the works & medium peppers which was the right spice level for me. But if you really want spicy then opt for the hot peppers. As for ambiance, it's cool; they offer both indoor & outdoor seating. Lastly, didn't take long for the order, like 5 minutes. Anyways, hope all about the bread considers giving some TLC to the bread

Ron Hotspur M.

Yelp
The name is justified. The bread here is spectacular! Everything else here is great, but as a Bay Area native, I sometimes lament the quality of bread in Los Angeles - these guys could open a bakery and would sell out. The rest of their ingredients are up to snuff, as well. Service tends to be quick, and while I usually get sandwiches to go, it's a pleasant enough place to eat.
google avatar

Yelp
After a long flight, I Ordered a turkey sandwich , it was amazing . The best turkey sandwich in California. The bread was delicious . Amazing
google avatar

Gennadiy S.

Yelp
All About the Bread lives up to the name--and then some. I tried both the Godfather and the Hot Pastrami sandwiches, and wow... flavor overload in the best way possible. The Godfather is stacked, savory, and perfectly balanced with just the right kick from the peppers. The Hot Pastrami? Melt-in-your-mouth tender with just the right amount of heat and tang. But the real star? The bread. Fresh, warm, slightly crispy on the outside--absolutely perfect. Portions are generous, service is quick, and everything feels made with care. If you're anywhere near Melrose, this spot is a must.

Yelp
I have been craving Bay Cities Godmother, but I could not trek all the way to Santa Monica. So, I happened to find All About the Bread on Uber Eats one day, I knew I had to try it. Rather than trying to get Uber Eats, I decided to just pick it up. I was about 30 minutes away from closing and I wanted to make sure that I was able to get a sandwich, so I called them before I left and the person who pick up my call was so nice and helpful. I came in about 10 minutes from closing and the person made me a sandwich with no issues. Of course, I had to get the Godfather. I did take it back home to eat, but I think that the restaurant was super cute and would have loved to eat it there had it not been closing. Parking was tough. There are a few spots in the front (and I think there were some spot in the back?). I actually found street parking about half block away and walked over. As for the sandwich, I actually liked the bread a little more than Bay Cities. I know many fellow Yelpers thought the bread was too hard, but I actually think Bay Cities bread might be a little harder for me. To be fair, I ate it when I got home, so it was a little softer, but I have also eaten Godmother after getting home (and the trek back from Santa Monica is way longer for me) and the bread was still pretty hard. The inside was pretty similar to the Godmother. So, if you are looking for a good alternative, definitely check All about the Bread.

Yelp
I stopped by this sandwich shop and ordered the highly-recommended "Godfather" sandwich. I was not disappointed! Service was quick (though I came in 30 min before close, so they were wrapping up) and there was ample seating in the clean dining area. The bread was fresh and had a perfect balance of softness and crunch. However, be sure to eat it the day of - I saved half for the next day and it got a bit soggy. My only major issue is the parking situation, which is inconvenient. The front lot requires some tricky maneuvering along the sidewalk/curb at times to get to the slot, but luckily there's street parking nearby. On the bright side, the location makes up for it - just across the street is a great spot to grab a sweet treat at Milk Bar soft serve! Overall, a good sandwich, but be prepared for some parking challenges. I don't think I would go out of my way to get a sandwich again but if I happened to be in the area, why not -- I'd try the pastrami or another hot sandwich.
google avatar

Navene S.

Yelp
Good service! The bread was the best part about the sandwich but I thought the qty of pastrami could have been more and the banana peppers slightly less and the bread toasted more. Is should have been more warm! But decent pastrami sandwich.
google avatar

Baylei Y.

Yelp
I love this sandwich shop. Fresh tasty bread, great cuts of cold meats, good cheese, huge sandwich portions, great chip selections. Overall always a great sandwich when I come. They are recently renovated so the inside looks amazing! Handful of options to choose from or build your own. Great price for a big sandwich. The service is always great , nice & cool air conditioning. This is my go-to sub shop.
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
Stopped by to pick up some lunch with my partner after a coffee date at nearby Fika Fika. I love this place but I'm so rarely in this area at lunch time. I got the signature honey lime chicken sandwich and it was as good as I remember from years ago when I worked in the area often. My partner got the Milan salami and really enjoyed it. Portions are big, prices are reasonable, and the bread - as advertised - is delicious. The staff is friendly and the service is fast.

Kevin G.

Yelp
All about the bread if you haven't tried it, I highly recommend everyone to try it Great customer service, they are always nice and quick with orders. Everything is clean, the manager Rafa always makes sure everything looks great. 10/10
google avatar

Yelp
First timer and I'll definitely be back. Nice to find a basic sandwich shop with fresh ingredients and really great bread! Not a big garlic aoli guy here if you know what I mean! Fast friendly service too!
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
Their "Signature" is the best turkey sandwich I've ever had. I'm the kind of person that goes somewhere for the one thing that I order. And this is that place that I go for a turkey sandwich. The reasoning... it's "All About the Bread"... it makes the sandwich. The people that make the sandwich's must enjoy their jobs because every person that they serve is always happy. What could be better than feeding hungry, happy people?! Great energy and well worth it. You'll be back for more and you'll understand when you take your first bite. It's a simple cafe/deli experience. Grab your bag of chips, sit down and enjoy. The sun shines through the windows, picnic styling.
google avatar

Sara R.

Yelp
If you are in LA, you have to stop in here for lunch. They have so many choices. Lots of options for vegetarian and meat eaters. The bread is fresh and has this crunch to it. It really makes the sandwich. They have dine in and patio seating.
google avatar

Joe Z.

Yelp
The name says it all. The bread is delicious! Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We ordered a Roast Beef and pastrami sandwich. Both had a unique flavor. The flaky crispy bread puts the sandwich over the top. The meat is sliced to order. I had a bite of the pastrami and the mustard matched the pastrami perfectly. The Roast beef sandwich was on point with quality meats and fresh vegetables. Parking is tricky with only a couple spaces in front and street parking is permit. Service is quick and friendly Prices are reasonable Plenty of seating The menu is rather small but has all the fan favorites
google avatar

Cesar C.

Yelp
I'm a huge sandwich fan, delis, artisanal sandwich spots, I'm there. All about the bread is definitely a top tier sandwich spot, cannot recommend this enough! If you've had and enjoy Bay cities in west LA, this place is for you! Service was great, and the price is hard to beat.
google avatar

Ryan R.

Yelp
I think this sandwich store is one of the best in LA! We work across the street and we ALWAYS get our sandwiches from there and they never fail to make them FRESH AND DELICIOUS! RAFAEL has always been friendly and nice to us when we order. His service is outstanding and ge takes care of us perfectly! Happy you guys expanded and hoping more expansion in the near future!! Maybe consider expanding to the valley so they get to eat the delicious sandwiches!! 5 STARS AND VERY DESERVING!
google avatar

Marina P.

Yelp
i've heard about this spot a lot and so when I walked by it I decided to stop in. I got a large godfather sandwich and I love how the vibe inside is very straightforward and old school deli style where you see the meat and cheese in a big glass window. the guy helping me was sweet and the sandwich came out quick.the meat tastes great but i'm sorry I have to give it one star based off the bread alone .... how dare you call your restaurant ALL ABOUT THE BREAD and the bread is the worst thing on the sandwich ?? for almost $20 this feels criminal to eat a stale cracker bread that literally cracks when I bite it ... never coming here again i'm so sad because I love deli sandwiches so much but this was garbage.
google avatar

Makennah I.

Yelp
GREAT food, and staff is very very sweet. Not a ton of parking, but well worth a walk. Everything is very fresh and perfectly put together. Will definitely be eating here again.
google avatar

Aslan B.

Yelp
Loved the food here and the design of the new location is spectacular, they have indoor and outdoor seating, and free parking in front. We got the Godfather and the Burrata, both excellent and everything was fresh, service is fast too. Also got the potato salad and cucumber tomato salad containers to go and they were delicious even the next day. Highly recommend All About the Bread!

Yelp
My mouth is watering just thinking about my sandwich at "All About the Bread." This place makes amazing sandwiches with the most SPECTACULAR BREAD!!! The gentleman who helped me could not have been nicer. So, two thumbs up on ur staff, your bread & those TASTY sandwiches.
google avatar

Lynn P.

Yelp
I'VE BEEN COMING HERE FOR YEARS!!! I'm giving this place a 5 STAR REVIEW after I made the AWFUL mistake of going to another italian sandwich shop "Mamie" on Santa Monica Blvd and paying a whopping $28 for a garbage sandwich. I immediately regretted my decision. Thank you, "All About The Bread", for not ripping customers off and having the best tasting sandwiches in LA.
google avatar

Scott J.

Yelp
I've been on a hunt to find the best Turkey Sandwich in LA, unfortunately this is NOT it! Walked in, asked for a large Turkey Club. I asked if the bread could be heated and was told that the bread is made fresh every 20 minutes, they will not toast the bread. No big deal... I added pickles and light olives to the mix and took my sub to go. (When it's my first time trying a new sandwich shop I get the sandwich with the condiments suggested by the store before adding anything additional) The first bite was really tough as the bread exterior is so hard that it hurt the roof of my mouth to eat. This bread would be great with butter or cheese, but as a sandwich this overpowered the entire flavor profile, and was too hard making it challenging to bite into. The proportions were off and was lacking flavor, I ended up adding mustard and Mayo to help add extra flavor in. **My big complaint with this sandwich (which I didn't factor into the actual sandwich rating) were the TWO GIANT Olive pits in the sandwich -- one in each of the two parts of the sandwich (see photo) -- when I bit down I thought a tooth filling must have come out and that I was chewing a tooth, but it was a GIANT olive pit. Lighting did strike twice as it happened again when eating the other part of the sandwich. For this to be in both parts of the sandwich is a big quality control problem for me, and could have cracked a tooth and caused permanent damage. Outside of the sandwich itself being nothing special, I'm not cool with the lack of care that went into this almost $20 sando and the olive pits inside BOTH parts of this sandwich. The parking lot out front is tiny and accommodates about 6 or 7 cars, and there is really bad parking in the area altogether. The gentleman at the counter was nice and friendly, but I can't move past the Olive Pit Fail, and the mediocrity of this sandwich establishment.

Laurie G.

Yelp
Came here based on a Reel video recommendation - it lived up to the hype! We had the Godfather and the Pastrami sandwiches. So good! And the bread - WOW! Customer service was outstanding, Rafael was terrific! Oh! Get a home baked cookie too!

Yelp
The best sandwich in all los angeles 10/10. Great customer service clean restrooms. Best

Kate B.

Yelp
Management is not friendly and didn't refund or offer us different sandwiches when they made our order incorrectly. Will not be coming back
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
This store makes you buy water in a plastic bottle when you dine and doesn't offer water in paper cups for their customers. Zero regard for the environment and when I drop north of 25$ on a sandwich and BAD potato salad they should extend that courtesy to me and the environment. Sandwich could be decent with better Italian dressing and mustard. Meat is decent.
google avatar

Yelp
You need to educate your staff on how to approach when there's a service dog. They need to ask two questions. First question is, is this a service dog second question and what service does it do for you? In my case, my service dog alerts the public when I'm having a seizure from the mass on the spinal cord in my neck. That would be the same reason why I have a handicap placard that I hang on my car. In any case this staff member proceeded to tell me he needed a license for my dog and I asked him don't you need to ask me two questions and he told me no he needs the license which means he's not educated on how to talk to people with service animals! And more importantly, I went over there to get a bunch of food for my company that surprised me by coming over to my home that I've lived in for 10 years across the street from this establishment. Not to mention I've been to this place before when it was in the building next-door to where it is now. And the staff was much nicer. He proceeded to tell me I had to leave. And that he could not serve me and that I had to leave immediately with my dog. Now I'm reporting them to the US Department of Justice. I don't suggest anyone go to this establishment, especially if you have a service animal and I'll be sure to let all my friends in the neighborhood know how I was treated.

Yelp
Easy parking in the front or street parking off Detroit. The staff was decently friendly and didn't have issues like others mentioned. The Godfather + Hot Pastrami + Turkey Club are always fire
