All Too Well, Chicago’s Most Instagrammable Sandwich Shop, Opens in Culver City | Eater LA

"The newly opened outpost at the Platform in Culver City is the second location of the sandwich shop and the founder’s first restaurant outside Chicago; the shop serves inventive takes on sandwiches that intentionally blur the lines between Italian, Lebanese, and classic deli flavors. The shop’s origins and menu philosophy are closely tied to the founder’s family history of working as butchers and in delis, and he notes that the name is a reference to a Taylor Swift song but insists, “It’s not Taylor Swift-themed.” Describing his approach to the project he says, “I wanted to do that, and I figured I can do it, but I can do it my way,” and “The way I like sandwiches.” Menu highlights include the Bombay Chulet — born from repurposing ingredients and using a Bombay chile crunch and fried onions from the restaurant — assembled on schiacciata (a thinner-than-focaccia Tuscan sandwich bread) with prosciutto, garlic mayo, fig jam, stracciatella, and arugula; the founder describes it as, “It hits the Mediterranean thing mixed with the Indian flavors.” Other offerings include a Culver City–exclusive Kobe with smoked turkey, bacon crumbles, tomato, stracciatella, basil pesto, and garlic mayo; the Tunaverse with tuna salad, Roma tomato, shredded lettuce, and ajvar pepper spread; and named personal tributes such as the smoked turkey Niff Jen (after his wife) and a tomato-and-feta sandwich called Cousins. The sandwiches are served pressed, with char lines on the schiacciata adding another dimension of flavor and texture. The founder plans to travel between Los Angeles and Chicago to oversee both locations and says, “I just want to be a part of the community, he says. “I know I’m an outsider, but I think what I’m doing is unique, and I’m putting myself out there.”" - Rebecca Roland

All Too Well - Review - Culver City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"In case you were wondering, yes, this place is named after the 10-minute Taylor Swift song. This Chicago sandwich shop’s first West Coast location is across from the Platform in Culver City. There’s an LA-specific menu with sandwiches named Shaq and Kobe, but some Chicago bestsellers made the trip, too, like the Niff Jen with turkey, stracciatella, and fig jam, and the Bombay Chulet, with turkey, prosciutto, and chili crunch. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Cathy Park

ALL the sandwiches are delectable. Personal favorite the CK1. But you can’t go wrong with any of them. The customer service is AMAZING, sooo friendly & knowledgeable. Taking her time & answering all questions & going over every sandwich in detail. Almost impossible to find such good customer service this days. & the quality & taste of ALL the sandwiches AMAZING!!! Straight from Chicago were the original store started. Quite unique flavor. Nicely toasted. ALL sandwiches are served warm. A must try. They take credit/ debit cards. & cash if no change is required. Can’t Waite to go back.

Taking place at The Platform, you could easily spot it right next to the parking entrance sitting right after Bianca. Great news you could place your order ahead online to skip the waiting! I've seen quite some negative reviews regarding waiting time or out of stocks, but fortunately experience neither. Mine was flawless and I didn't even order ahead. The place was extremely cute, but I preferred having them to-go and sitting at the steps, as I wanna avoid the food smell stuck on me and my clothes LOL. I tried their Kobe and Bombay Chulet, which were also said as their dynamic duo. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOTH! Kobe featured super tasty pesto sauce, stuffed with turkey and straciatella. While Bombay Chulet was surely my highlight as it's nothing like any other sandwich I've had in town. It's so distinctive with it's unique mixture of Bombay Chili Crunch and fried onion. I love that twist a ton and the sweet/spicy hint from the fig jam complemented the overall taste. Double protein featured as well with turkey and prosciutto. All sandwiches served with Tuscan Ciabatta, freshly toasted to order. They're priced at $16.5 before tax and tip, which for the size were super decent and I'd say even at more affordable side compared to atypical in LA!

Love this sandwich spot!! I decided to stop by upon returning from a visit to Chicago due to its Chicago roots, and was not disappointed! The interior dining space was spacious, airy, and bright, with lots of windows that offer up a good view of the nearby metro station. The lady inside taking orders and making the sandwiches was super friendly and willing to chat with customers - she gave advice on sandwich options, good reheating methods for leftovers, and was just very friendly in general! On to the sandwich itself - I decided to do 'The Boatwich', which came with turkey, ham, and other toppings including harissa aioli mayo...inspired by the owners' Lebanese roots. I absolutely LOVED the way this sandwich did not overdo anything on it. With a name like 'Boatwich', I was a bit worried it would be one of those places with over-the-top sandwiches that is hard to eat. Instead, it felt perfectly prepared and portioned for just the right amount of everything on it - I loved the light tones and textures from all the toppings. I just really love the clear attention and care that went into its preparation. It was also a generous portion - large enough for me to save the other half for lunch the next day! Parking is $2 for an hour at the neighboring garage for The Platform shopping area. I look forward to returning & trying more of the sandwiches here - I definitely recommend giving it a visit!

Katherine was so friendly & walked me through all the options. Such a great vibe, CK1 was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. This place is a must!

Google
I've had the beef dip sandwich here twice, and it is SO good. The best beef dip sandwich I have ever had. The flavors are so unique, and the beef is shaved super thin. Large portions as well. I am so happy this place has opened in my neighborhood!

Google
Got 3x Bombay Chulet and none of us were impressed. No clear flavors, just very mayo/saucy and bland. It wasn’t inedible but it was not good. And it was >$60 for three sandos. Wouldn’t go back.

Google
finally a good sandwich spot around here! i only wish they were open for longer hours or on mondays - it happens so often that i just barely miss their window when im craving one

Google
Good sandwiches good service but SO expensive. Where I come from $18 for a sandwich would be criminal. I understand you’re trying to brand yourself as gourmet but I would come here every other day

Yelp
I honestly do not understand why this place has less than 4 stars because every time I've come here, I've absolutely loved it! The space is big and nice, the service is stellar, and the sandwiches (the most important part) are so unique and delicious. I've tried both the Bombay Chulet and the Tatanka and I would get both again easily! There are so many flavors going on in every sandwich but they all work together. Everything feels perfectly curated here, from the taste to the texture to even customizing your name on the bag. And it doesn't hurt that it's named after a Taylor Swift song!

Yelp
thought this place was okay? service was nice and I got my sandwich quickly, but for $16.50 this did not blow me away. got the Kobe sandwich. ingredients are fresh and it is a packed sandwich but I feel like if I'm paying $16 it better blow me away suggested parking is at platform LA parking garage, but it's a paid one. paid $2 for 45 minutes

Yelp
Sandwiches are a good size portion! The Bombay chulet is delicious! The bread itself is perfect and unique. Service is nice and quick. Not too many tables inside but a couple outside as well! No parking validation.

Yelp
A brand new sandwich shop just opened across the street from the Platform. It has an original location in Chicago, and the owner comes from a family of Deli and butcher owners, which made me interested in their sandwiches! I ordered: The Shaq A hot Italian panini with capicola, salami, smoked turkey, stracciatella cheese, hoagie salad (lettuce, onion, oregano, banana peppers, vinaigrette), and garlic mayo The bread was panini'd beautifully hot and crispy. The portion was pretty sizeable, too, and it could be shared depending on how hungry you are. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful! The staff was incredibly friendly and quick to serve. I definitely recommend the spot for anyone stopping by in the area, and I'll be back to try the other sandwiches in the future!

Yelp
Always a big fan of sandwich, so I know I gotta try this one. Taking place at The Platform, you could easily spot it right next to the parking entrance sitting right after Bianca. Yelp
Terrific sandwiches! They don't have the Kobe available to order online and there's very little seating but I'm sure they will be fixed quickly. Came during their soft opening. Friend from Chicago told me about this place opening up and I wanted to check it out. Kobe had great flavor as did the Bombay Chulet. Personally I'm a huge fan of basil pesto so I gravitated towards the Kobe more but both sandwiches were delicious. My Chicago friend told me they get pretty busy and sell out so I do recommend you go early. I went on a Wednesday at 12pm and it wasn't terribly busy. Will definitely go back again!

Yelp
This spot delivers big flavor in a small package. I came in for lunch and ordered the Bombay sandwich, which was absolutely packed with flavor. Perfectly crisp on the outside, vibrant and bold on the inside. There's a clear nod to Chicago in the vibe--whether it's the energy, the menu, or the way the flavors hit--and honestly, it works. It gives the place a unique rhythm that stands out from the typical LA lunch scene. If there's one drawback, it's the clientele. A bit rude, a bit entitled(welcome to LA), but thankfully the staff more than makes up for it. Friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the food they're serving.

Yelp
Ordered a Shaq and Bombay Chulay - both tasted like a supermarket sandwich, but at Platform prices. Save your time and go to Monroe Place down the street for some better food.

Yelp
THE BEST SANDWICHES EVER!!! So filling and so worth the money. Can't believe I saw a review that the sandwiches are too big... what? Will say the Chicago store is cuter, and wish this one had the same personality

Yelp
Waste of time coming all the way out here. Only to have it be closed. Not sure when I'll be back, but hopefully they're open?

Yelp
This place's sandwich tasted so different from what I imagined just by looking at the ingredients--in the best way possible. It was my first time trying a gourmet sandwich, and since I heard this brand originated in Chicago, I was really curious even before taking a bite. But wow, this wasn't just a sandwich--it felt like something off a fine dining menu, neatly tucked into bread for an easy, elevated experience. I ordered the Bombay Chulet, and every bite brought out new layers of flavor and aroma. The turkey was incredibly tender and mild, the cheese added this rich, nutty note, and there was this luxurious scent I couldn't quite place--but it made the whole thing feel so special. Just one sandwich made me genuinely happy. If you've never had a gourmet sandwich before, I highly recommend trying this place. The portions are generous too--I actually split mine into lunch and dinner. It's tucked right next to a beautiful, hidden courtyard in Culver City, and the atmosphere is spotless and calm--not a speck of dust in sight. The staff are also super kind. If I worked nearby, I'd probably come here every day.

Yelp
Let me first say that this place just opened a week ago, so I think they're going to be able to figure it out eventually, just have to work out some new opening kinks. PROS: - super friendly service. team was apologetic about delays - food was just OKAY CONS: - We got there at 11:45 on a Wednesday (they open at 11) and had already run out of cheeses, lettuce. - Sandwiches took a long time to make (waited 40 min for 6 sandwiches) - I ordered the Shaq sandwich. It had such potential, but executed poorly. Barely any italian meats, overwhelming turkey and almost zero salad (see photo)
google avatar

Dan R.

Yelp
It was ok, don't think it will survive. The sandwich I got was underwhelming - literally no veggies for $16.50. The space that it is in has seen a lot of turnover so I think that also is a factor. I will not return.
google avatar

Jonathan R.

Yelp
Small, delicious menu, fast courteous service. Nothing but sandwiches, and only one vegetarian option so far, but a good one for sure.
google avatar

Hector S.

Yelp
Ordered the Shaq and Kobe they ran out of sandwiches 1.5 hours since they opened which seems crazy to me. However the Shaq was missing the "hoagie salad" ingredients along with the banana peppers... it was a good sandwich although it was all meat but I think they need to get their stuff sorted out especially if you're charging $17 for a sandwich.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
Typical place at The Platform that expects you to pay a premium for their rent, as opposed to their quality. Bland sandwiches. Very strange pricing ($3.50 for a coke $5.50 for a topo chico?). No ambiance. Low effort. Big fan of "high end" restaurants and experiences. This is not it.

Yelp
This place is like a refined sandwich shop of the northeast. The combinations are great and the food is good. The service is pretty decent. Look it takes a bit to make a sandwich that's good. I'm not sure what those who gave it low stars are thinking. My wife and I were blown away. I would recommend for anyone who wants to have a great sandwich without the pretentiousness.

O J.

Yelp
The sandwiches are very large and one half was filling enough. I ordered the Kobe sandwich and it was 90% smoked turkey. There was no taste of basil pesto or garlic aioli it just tasted like turkey and bread. On top of that the turkey was cold while the toasted panini bread was hot, making for a confusing bite due to the contradicting temperatures. It is not worth the $16.50 for a giant turkey sandwich with no flavor. Would not recommend.

Erin J.

Yelp
I live locally and a really excited to see the new addition of a new sandwich shop in our neighborhood! I went for lunch today to check it out and ordered the Cousins sandwich (the only non-meat menu option). I loved the flavors of the smoky baba ghanoush, feta, and beets however, I realized that one of the key sandwich ingredients (tomato) were missing after just one bite! After paying almost $17 for the sandwich, it was a little bit disappointing to see the lack of quality control, especially when the store was not super busy.
google avatar

Noel S.

Yelp
This is literally the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. Like, literally the best.
google avatar

Roger M.

Yelp
Very expensive and bland. There are two superior sandwich shops nearby (Potato Chip Deli and Monroe's Place)
google avatar

Shoe S.

Yelp
Maybe this kind of sandwich works in Chicago but it tastes like a pavilions sandwich, and if context clues are alluding you, I don't think a pavillions sandwich is good. Bread was like the sole of a shoe, lots of mayo sogging up the works and the turkey was like the turkey the fell on the platter after everyone took actual slices
google avatar

Rob V.

Yelp
I don't think this place is going to make it, there is nothing good about it. The location, the decor, the staff, the food, everything is average. Limited choice, only four and they all have turkey in them, not very creative. I ordered the Bombay Chulet and it was okay. There are a lot of very good sandwich places in LA, (Hello Ggiata!), I will not go back to All Too Well.

Lanajwa D.

Yelp
This place blew me away. I was expecting a good sandwich because a lot of little hideaway places have really good food, but it just was beyond my expectation. My sandwich was delicious. I got the roast beef sandwich with a dip dipping sauce. I added some hot honey fireI will definitely be going back a couple of times a week for lunch. It's a little bit pricey, but it's delicious. You guys have to check them out.
