All'antico Vinaio - Review - The Gulch - Nashville - The Infatuation

"The fast-casual Florentine sandwich shop with out-the-door lines has opened not one, but two, locations in Nashville almost simultaneously. Both offer the same menu of hits, including L’Inferno with porchetta, nduja cream, grilled vegetables, and arugula on their housemade schiacciata bread, but also a Nashville special: the Italian Hot—a Tuscan twist on the hot chicken sandwich made with turkey, provolone piccante, nduja, calabrian hot honey, and arugula. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

I recently visited this adorable little sandwich shop and had a really pleasant experience. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by three lovely young African American women who were working hard, taking orders and making sandwiches with care and professionalism. Their energy and hospitality truly made my visit memorable. The sandwich setup was a little unconventional — with a separate person at the end just taking payments — and it made me wonder if things could be run more efficiently. A self-order kiosk system, like the one Panera Bread uses, might help streamline the process since they don’t accept cash and every staff member could be more actively involved. Now let’s talk food: the sandwiches were fantastic! Mine was flavorful and filling, and my son enjoyed his just as much. You can really tell they put love into making each one. I genuinely wish I were wealthy enough to tip each of those hardworking young women $100. They absolutely deserve it! Maybe one day I’ll be able to go back and do just that. Until then, I highly recommend this place — great food, great vibes, and a team that truly shines. The parking is terrible 😭 I parked at frugal McDougal's and walked down. I'm not paying $12 just to pick up some sandwiches

Google
I love the concept of this place. It has a lot of potential, as it offers an Italian alternative to American sandwich bars. The sandwiches are made to order, cold cuts are sliced in front of you and there's no lack of personnel. The bread could have been baked a little longer. Overall we had a good dining experience and I would support this joint.

Google
The food was definitely the best part, the ingredients were so fresh and crisp. The service was slow even though we were the only ones in there and extra toppings were am an extra dollar which was no advertised. I think its worth trying. Its also priced ~$18 per sandwich which can be pricey but you get a good portion.

Google
Every time I go to this place the size of the sandwich always changes also the amount of the ingredients too, this is just shameful. This SANDWHICH COST $23 and this is what I got, it’s a scam. People who works clearly does not follow the amount it supposed to be go into sandwich, there is barely 3oz mortadella. I am just so disappoint and sad for wasting $23. Will not be repeated and let friends know too.

Google
The customer service is really nice! The vibes are cool. Bread is top tier! The price point is a little steep for a sandwich. Overall, nice place in a good location if you want to walk around after (except for parking which was a hassle).

Google
First the positives, loved the food the bread was incredibly good and dude bite easy to reheat at home in the air fryer and it’s as good as the day I got it. Meats were great, some negatives and only reason I didn’t give it 4 stars. As. First time diner it’s confusing on what add ons like sauces. They were in such a hurry no one explained how to order. The cash register girl was just angry to be there. I tried to ask questions about mustard or other condiments and she was just interested in explaining, or offering it was just a flat no we don’t have that. Kind of a bummer. I recommend this place but those are thing I suggest fixing to make the place great.

Google
Came on opening day and enjoyed the La Favolosa (added arugula) and blood orange soda. Everyone that worked there was so friendly even with how busy it was. I thought the sandwich and soda tasted great. However, the sandwich felt small for $20 before tax, which is why I docked a star. I went with a friend who was just at the Florence location and mentioned the sandwiches there were bigger and only 7-10 euros. Not sure why the price is double here, especially in Nashville. Despite all that, I think this is a nice addition to the Gulch and will try this spot out again.

Google
I’m going to blame some of this on me and what I order. I really like spicy and truffle and thought the La Schiacciata Del Boss was for me. It was just way too much truffle for my liking and the eggplant didn’t help balance as I didn’t taste the spice. Overall the place was neat and I like the attempt of making sandwiches from the place I’ve had my best sandwich ever (Florence). I’ll go back and try a different sandwich soon, they are massive sandwiches!

Yelp
I have been to their location in Florence Italy and have been really excited to try out this classic Italian sandwich shop in Nashville! The shop has a line out of the door but don't worry it moves fast. Decent amount of seating inside and a great selection of sandwiches. Was very excited to see more than one vegetarian option!! Overall the sandwiches were phenomenal, service was fast and friendly & they offer validated parking for an hour at the parking garage next door!

Yelp
Third times the charm? I know this may be a cold take review, and im fine with that. This craft sandwhich shop is whipping up some delicious looking sandwiches with fresh ingredients. That being said, I have not had super great experiences my past two times and thought it was significantly overrated for the price. The employees were also not very helpful the last to times. Yes I completely understand quality imported ingredients will always be more expensive, I just don't feel that those ingredients really added much to the overall in the taste of the sandwich. Today I got the Nashville hot in my last attempt to like this place, I keep trying it because everyone raves about it and I just felt like I HAD to be missing something. The employees were really helpful this time and actually seemed like they cared. The interior was packed right after opening. This time the sandwich was piled high with ingredients, much more than prior, I think the sandwich was good. Best one I have had yet but still not WOW like I see it raved about. I would give it 4/5 stars this visit. The turkey mixed with the heat paired with arugula was pretty tasty. I would go back, but I won't necessarily be going out of my way to get it again.

Yelp
Good food & good quality, very delicious sandwiches. The only issue which I think they can easily fix it is the employee who're making sandwiches are so slow, like being high slow! They're nice and friendly but taking for ever to make just one sandwich!

Yelp
SO GOOD. On my trip to Nashville, I stopped by here TWICE just so I could bring some home for my friends to try. The staff are super friendly and they usually let you sample whichever meat they are cutting up. I got to sample the prosciutto, and the cuts are so thin they literally melt in your mouth! I would recommend the La Dante 110%- there is truffle cream, arugula, and two different cured meats but it is so delicious. The bread is warm and so soft and fluffy, yet still the perfect crispy bite- texture 10/10. I definitely recommend stopping by, and I need to try the real deal in Italy!

Yelp
This place definitely lives up to the hype! I was so excited to learn that this legendary florence sandwhich shop opened a location in Nashville. I came on a Wednesday afternoon and there was no line. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. We ordered the La dante and La Paradiso which I would both definitely recommend. The bread is freshly baked and the sandwiches are a massive portion. The ratio filling inside is perfect. 10/10 would recommend. Can't wait to return and try more of the menu!!

Yelp
Be prepared to wait! This was a highly anticipated restaurant that opened two locations in Nashville. There were about 15 people in front of us and it took about 30 minutes waiting in line before getting to the front to place our order. Pros - fresh baked bread and meats are sliced for each sandwich order. Toppings are fresh and lots of options! Cons - you can't have more than one meat on a sandwich. The menu on the wall also does not include descriptions so make sure to grab a paper one so you can read what is on each sandwich and be prepared to order when you get to the window. Overall, it's a good sandwich place, but I don't know if it's worth the line in my opinion. I think there are other fantastic local spots that can receive business without the long waistline (and a second meat!).

Yelp
Been looking forward to the opening for months! I've been to the Florence, Italy, location a few times. Florence loads on the sauces and such, where they skimped a bit here. Got two sandwiches. They heat up the bread when you order, and one of the sandwiches' bread was a bit on the crispy side causing my mouth to feel like it was getting cut up. It was steaming when it was sliced open. Friendly staff. Took our order to go. A bit overpriced unless they decide to start putting on more of the sauces and such. I added pictures of reviews from the Florence location showing how stuffed they make them. Nashville's were flavorful though.

Yelp
The sandwich was great! The focaccia bread was delicious. I got the Dante and I can't remember what my husband got, I think it was the last one of the menu. They were amazing!! They really nailed this.

Yelp
My fiancée heard about All'Antico Vinaio on TikTok and was excited to try it out. We stopped by after church on a Sunday and were met with a small line out the door, but it moved quickly. The weather was lovely, and we had time to look over the menu while we waited. Ordering was simple and efficient. The menu isn't overwhelming, which made deciding easy. The music was calm and not too loud, and even though the location is fairly small, we were able to find seating for our group of five. Food wise, we were all really happy. My mom and I got the Venice Beach, my little sister had La Favolosa, my future brother-in-law went with The New Yorker, and my fiancée ordered La Summer. Every sandwich was fresh, flavorful, and filling. Mine hit the spot, and my fiancée said his was perfect and didn't need a thing. The portions are generous, definitely big enough to share. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd absolutely recommend All'Antico Vinaio to anyone looking for a satisfying, casual bite.

Yelp
Super fresh the day I went and I came early around the time they started to open. There's parking RIGHT NEXT to the place so please don't be dumb like me and park in the ph pic parking a block up at the light and have to pay like $20 just to get my Sammy. I got the one with roast beef and I added pistachio or porcini cream (whichever doesn't come w it) to it and it was fabulous. I still think about this simple sandwich. The bread is definitely overhyped though. The workers are extremely nice and help you with the menu if you don't know what to get. The line moves fairly quickly as well it's the time you wait til you get your sandwich that's a little bit long and they are very pricey for a sandwich but it's good to try at least once

Yelp
Just visited this place...long lines...they are very slow....asked for mayo for my turkey sandwich and was told in a snobby way "we don't have mayonnaise"...he never asked me to substitute anything else. Focaccia was good but sandwich was very dry. The workers clearly do no want to be here.

Yelp
The potential for this place is there, it just needs a bit of sprucing up. The ingredients, execution and service can be much improved to match the pricetag. They validated parking for 1hr which was nice.

Yelp
We were excited to try this restaurant, but we're disappointed. We stood at the counter for several minutes with multiple employees behind the counter talking before being asked if we have been helped. I had the Venice Beach. It was extremely plain with almost no flavor. No one in our party was asked if they wanted any extra flavoring in their sandwich. The sandwich was simply not worth the price. Parking is a challenge.

Tim I.

Yelp
The sandwiches are amazing! This is the best location because it's rarely slammed and you've got dedicated parking across the street. Just understand this, there are no options. You order the sandwich as is and there's no condiments or anything like that but the bread and food is all natural.

Joe P.

Yelp
The sandwiches are absolutely delicious. It's hard to make a decision because they all sound amazing. I went with the L'Inferno (porchetta, spicy eggplant, nduja, arugula). It was rich and had a great kick without being too spicy. But the bread! It's other worldly. I can't wait to try their entire menu. I went on a Sunday afternoon. Although the line was around the corner, it moved quickly. The staff was friendly and it was a fun atmosphere. I've been to the one on Florence and this place is legit. Buonissimo!

Yelp
I had an amazing experience here! Cami took extra care of me and suggested one of the best sandwiches for me. I will be back not only bc the food is amazing, but the customer service was even better!!

Yelp
Was so excited to try but massive let down. Bread wasn't fully cooked, sandwich mediocre and staff took far too long to make it.

Alicia W.

Yelp
I went in the middle of the day and didn't have to wait at all. Both of the sandwiches tasted so good and I can't wait to come back. It's not the biggest so if it's busy it's probably best to get ur food to go.

Adam M.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches and incredible service! The place was spotless and everyone was so friendly. Definitely a must-visit in Nashville!"

Caroline F.

Yelp
This food was absolutely delicious! I got the La Schiatta Del Boss sandwich. Incredible- worth the hype. Line was long when I got to restaraunt, but made it through quickly.

Anna R.

Yelp
Was very excited to hear we got an all'antico after trying it in Torino and loving it. Got the Paradiso since I have dreams about that sandwich. I think it was very close to the legit thing - however, they're definitely being cheap with the stracchino. The sandwich is seriously lacking there. Service was good and quick and I was a big fan of the rest of the sandwich. But the authentic version has cheese spilling out of it which is one of the best parts! Please consider being more generous with it in the future.

Yelp
Best sandwiches in the world and amazing service! Italian hot is so good, highly recommend!

Boyo 7.

Yelp
Amazingly tasty sandwiches. They are expensive but are large. Got the Roast Beef which was outstanding.

Mike A.

Yelp
I haven't had the sandwich yet. I'm sure it's gonna be good, but I'm already pissed off because I have to pay to park and then they don't take cash. I will not be tipping one of the situations because I've already cost me $10 more than I am expecting and I resent the fact that they don't take cash.

James H.

Yelp
each sandwich is around 20$. The bread is good. I personally do not like the sauce or condiments mixtures on the sandwich's, but I cannot rip them cause others seemed happy. I am picky. In the end, for 25$, you get a big sandwich and drink in the gulch, so its a good deal. I could only eat half, and brought rest home

Kelly S.

Yelp
Staff was great! The GF bread was amazing! All my celiac friends please check this place out! I had La Paradiso and it was so good!

Wayne H.

Yelp
So I order a $20 sandwich. Ain't cheap. And when checking out I ask for a glass of water. "I AM SORRY BUT OUR POLICY IS NOT TO GIVE OUT WATER". Fahgettaboutit. I am never going back. Saved myself $20. And they were rude about it too.,
