The Best Restaurants Around Times Square | Eater NY

"The sandwich shop import from Florence features lush Italian sandwiches like La Broadway (pistachio cream, stracciatella, sun dried tomato, zucchini, and arugula) and La Dante (capocollo, stracchino, truffle cream, and arugula) for around $20." - Robert Sietsema

Hit or miss spot! Today was definitely not the right day to visit All’Antico Vinaio. The schiacciata was disappointingly thin, with just one—maybe two—slices of mortadella and barely any pistachio spread. Absolutely unacceptable! This location lacks consistency in how they fill their schiacciata—one day it's decent, the next it's barely filled.😒 AVOID AT ALL COST

We first found this place in Florence. My husband just asked what the best sandwich would be and took the recommendation. He took one bite, then another and said “you need to taste this”. I did, of course, and I couldn’t even describe it. It may well have been the best food combination I ever have tasted! It resonated with me in such a wonderful way. We continued back and forth with that sandwich. While we chatted with tourists from Switzerland. The pic above is from an -All’antico Vinaio pop up on Manhattan. We couldn’t believe our luck to come across it. Here too the food was amazing. The staff were friendly offered great recommendations and made our sandwiches with expert speed and finesse. We hatted with man from New York who frequents Florence for its fine leather. This is the magic of good food- the enjoyment of the flavors, the comfort of the food, creates a shared experience that transcends barriers, foster connections and transform the unfamiliar into fond memories. Was that simple sandwich in Florence life changing? Maybe. It definitely enhanced ours!

“Paradiso” is definitely my favorite. The combo is insane: silky mortadella, rich stracciatella (the creamy heart of burrata), and generous pistachio cream with crushed pistachios. The flavor balance is unreal — sweet, salty, nutty, and buttery all at once. I’d go back just for this.

Love this chain but not this location! It can't compare to the other locations in the city. The sandwiches are generally so good that I stop each time I have the opportunity at different locations. Today I went back to Nomad and purchased 6 sandwiches. Each one had minimal cheese sliced paper thin, over ripe squishy tomatoes, minimal meat and stale bread!! Insane for $20 each. Top it all off with a slow staff who act like you are bothering them by placing an order. Not asking for friendly....just efficient. There does not seem to be a manager in charge. Such a disappointment that this location is not being run correctly. This chain has a good thing going but I wouldn't recommend this location.

Really good sandwich here!! Came for lunch around 1:30pm and it wasn’t too busy. A tiny bit pricey but worth it in my opinion.

All’Antico Vinaio is already one my favorite places to go and it just became better because only this specific location have limited supply of gluten free bread! By having gluten free bread, my gf loves this place even more as she would before just order something without the bread. If you are gluten free and been wanting to try this place, please take the time to come here and call ahead to see if they still have gluten free bread! From what I recall, there ingredients are imported from Italy and is probably why I love the freshness of it and tastes like my time I visited Italy. My two go-tos will forever be La Summer and La District. Simple choices but filled with the freshness and deliciousness of cured meats. Also, the service was outstanding especially caring for my gf’s allergy and they were kind throughout time waiting for our sandwiches.

Great Italian sandwiches that have a real European touch. They make their own bread, which is also tasty and crunchy and fresh. Outdoor seating is nice, close to Madison Sq Park with a view of the buildings surrounding the park.

Excellent sandwiches. The ingredients were fresh and high quality. The bread was the perfect level of crispiness and sponginess. The combinations are interesting and yet simple so you can taste all ingredients.
