Allday sets the bar for New York-style pizza in Austin - Review - Austin - The Infatuation

"You might already know the Allday name—they make some of Austin’s best New York-style pizza, with trailers and takeout windows at Daydreamer and Flo’s Wine Bar, respectively. Now, it has a forever home in Hyde Park, where the same great pizza shares a menu with excellent sandwiches, expanded desserts, and a full bar. photo credit: Richard Casteel The MVP is, unsurprisingly, the pizza, available by the slice or pie. It's thin, crisp, and chewy in all the right ways. But skipping the sandwiches would be a mistake. Exclusive to this location, they feature bread with a shatteringly crisp crust yet an airy, almost weightless interior. The Goo-Mah, packed with mortadella, soppressata, and stracciatella, gives Home Slice serious competition for the best italian sub in town. photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel Pause Unmute Allday is located in the same building as First Light Books and Bureau De Poste, comprising the area we like to call “the old Hyde Park post office.” The space nods to its USPS roots with a postcard wall for notes and doodles, but it’s also sleek and modern, with a hint of Chipotle’s aesthetic had the Southwestern chain taken up a life of pizza instead of burrito bowls. This particular Allday brings food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere together under the same roof, making it the ideal one-stop shop for a great night in Hyde Park. Food Rundown Drinks The drink menu is simple and unfussy—just what you want from a neighborhood pizza shop. House wines run about $10 a glass, and cocktails are mostly riffs on classics. The standout is the Dirty G&T, a gin and tonic with vermouth, olive brine, and pickle juice that’s a perfect hybrid of a dirty martini and its namesake drink. photo credit: Richard Casteel Pizza Sampler Allday lets you cobble together a whole pizza out of six different slices, and they’ll all arrive on the same tray that winds up looking like a colorful wheel of cheese, carbs, and sauce. Plus, it comes with a couple of sides. It’s great if you’re with a group or if you just want to sample six different toppings over the course of however many days, hours, or minutes you choose. Our favorites are the Pep & Pepp, the Stracciatella, and the Vodka Baby. photo credit: Richard Casteel The Goo-Mah Allday’s take on an italian sub piles mortadella and soppressata onto a freshly baked sesame roll that’s light, fluffy, and perfectly crusty. It’s also a beast—consider a half-order if you're flying solo. photo credit: Richard Casteel Vodka Chicken Cutlet Sandwich The same great bread from the Goo-Mah, but stuffed with a crispy chicken cutlet, a thick layer of cheese, and excellent vodka sauce. This is a great sandwich. photo credit: Richard Casteel Caesar Salad A classic caesar with a few twists—miso in the dressing, lemon-pepper panko breadcrumbs, and fresh herbs throughout. Start your meal with this. photo credit: Richard Casteel Soft Serve There are a handful of desserts—including an excellent tiramisu—but we usually end up mixing the two gelato soft-serve flavors into a sweet-cream-and-pistachio swirl, and topping it with crushed pretzels and salted caramel. It’s sweet, crunchy, salty, and a satisfying note to end the meal on. photo credit: Richard Casteel" - Nicolai McCrary

Allday Pizza was great. I remember this being the post office when I was a kid. Since then it’s been transformed and one of the positives has been Allday Pizza. It’s a simple pizza place with some indoor seating. You walk up to the counter to place your order then sit down and they’ll bring your pizza and drinks out. They have different options and you can buy them by the slice or hole. I thought the crust was delicious with the right amount of crispy. They have some local beers and wine and they offer desserts too. The spicy margarita pizza was tasty, but the pepperoni was amazing. The salad was great too! Definitely give this place a thumbs up. The staff and service was excellent and the place was nice and clean.

The line does take a while but it is 100% worth it! Staff were welcoming and friendly. Pizza, Caesar salad, and gelato are all excellent. The dirty G&T was great too. Will definitely be back.

I love Allday, this isn’t my first time and I have yet to try something that’s a miss. This trip was our first experience with their sandwiches and it did not disappoint. The chicken parm with vodka sauce (extra sauce) was everything I wanted and more. Their Cesar salad is always a hit and I can’t stay away. There was quite a line at 1 pm on Saturday which would’ve been fine but the line went outside and the Texas heat is tough to endure. All worth it for one of those sandwiches!

Generous portions and great NY style pizza! Lovely atmosphere, went for lunch and sat at the counter. Food ready in minutes. Got the caesar salad and the stracciatella slice. Delicious. Coming back for dinner and getting dessert!

Google
First time at any Allday location, and I was glad to find one near my neighborhood. The space was nicely renovated with wooden booths and tables. Service was very friendly and set our expectations on how long it would take for our pizza to be done. The pizza itself was great. We ordered the Pep & Pepp which has the little pepperonis that cup up when cooked, one of my favorite pizza toppings. Crust was thin and pretty crispy. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The sweet pepperoni slice is pretty amazing here! The crust is also very thin and crispy and we thought the food here was pretty great, however the guy at the counter this early afternoon completely ignored us for a good 3-5 mins while he helped other people We’ll have to check out the tarrytown location next time

Google
Overall pretty good. The pizza was tasty but I would say $6 for a slice is kind of wild to me. The slices are a decent size but they are very thin. It tasted good but nothing out of this world. The line to order is slow and long

I finally got to try Allday Pizza, and it didn’t disappoint! The pickle pizza is THE BEST! I really hope it lands a spot on the regular menu because I could eat it again and again! The stracciatella was alright, a good classic. The spicy margh was so so good! And the gelato twist with pistachio dust and maldon salt - chef’s kiss!

Yelp
The 4-star review below is nonsensical. The 3-star review below also feels unfair. Any pizza restaurant you walk into with a party of 7, or *any* restaurant in Austin for that matter, will have a wildly long wait if it is any good for a party that size. All Day is an in-and-out spot that does not manage table flow for you at the door. You need to claim a table yourself. If you have a party of greater than 4, just order takeout. I also live in Hyde Park like that reviewer, right down the street as well, and there is nothing wrong or mis-managed about the flow of customers at All Day. It's just often quite busy because it is exceptionally good. I have eaten nearly every piece of pizza in Austin, and this is #1 or #2. You can make arguments about it being in the top 3 or 4 as well. The Caesar salad is the best one in town, and I'll defend that any day of the week. The sandwich (they make only one kind) is WORLD CLASS as well. And I say that as a former NYC sandwich snob. It is tremendous. Will you wait in line? Yes. Should you get takeout with a larger party of 6+? Probably. But this is basically Home Slice on steroids taste- and execution-wise, without the hour and change wait (love Home Slice, and the wait there is what it is because it's an Austin staple, but I think All Day beats it head-to-head). In a year All Day will be continually overrun by Instagramers, TikTokers, and other documenters of the Austin food scene, and they will have earned it. Truly great pizza, people, and vibes.

Yelp
As Hyde Parkers who literally live around the corner from Allday, we want this place to succeed because if we can no longer have our beloved (and sorely missed!) post office, we may as well be able to get some good pizza. We came on Saturday night around 6:00 pm with some friends and there was a line, but no prob, we were happy to wait and put our order in with a very friendly staff person. Then we're told to go to the side and wait until a table opens up, so we do. And we keep on waiting. And waiting. This is the exact problem with the space: unlike the 35th street location, this one does not have enough seating to meet demand and there is no outdoor space for overflow. They also don't have enough people on the floor to manage the chaos--we were a party of seven and there was a huge booth where people were all done eating and then just basically sitting there hanging out. Then when another table area finally opened up, a smaller party who came in AFTER us went and took it, and no staff intervened! One of us was pissed and told someone who likely ended up being a manager, and he saved the day and made it right for us, but damn, you really need to manage the flow in here or its going to be a perpetual problem!! We do have to say that the pizza is worth the wait. It's really good, and definitely NY-style. We shared the plain cheese and the straciatella, both were bonkers divine: thin crust, nice oven char, gooey cheese, just heaven. Better than Home Slice by leaps and bounds. We liked the Caesar but remember liking the one we had at their other location better....just too many breadcrumbs and one of us thought the dressing needed a bit more pizzazz. Still, fine. The soft serve swirl that we got with pistachio dust and sprinkles was absolutely spot-on: such a strong and not-fake tasting pistachio! Kudos! Even though we loved the food, we were so disenchanted by our experience here that we're settling on 3 stars. The staff is great, the vibe and ambience are great, and we're excited to come back, but we need to see a better job of managing traffic and tables. Welcome to the neighborhood, and since it's a 30 second walk from our house, we'll be back soon and will hopefully end up landing on four stars.

Yelp
We found our best fav Austin pizza spot. 9/10. They have a few spots but we visited their newest spot in Hyde Park. The location is amazing and feels like a modern pizza spot but with hints to a classic pizza shop. Music is a mix but very enjoyable blend. We ordered the sampler so we got 5 different slices, an amazing Caesar salad and at the end the twist soft serve. All slices were very good. Cheese - 10/10 - they nailed the classic NYC cheese Spicy Marg - 9/10 - a sauce soaked with Calabrian chili - very good but I wish it were a tad spicer Pep & Pepp - TBD by wife Industry plant - 9/10 - a verde sauce with a dusting of pistacho Vodka - TBD by wife The soft serve was delicious with a lot of customizable toppings. I love the location and vibe. All of the employees were super helpful and nice. It's a pricey pizza joint where slices were mostly $5+ but the quality is top notch. #pizza #austin #atxpizza #alldaypizza @pedrosospizza is still very very much up there and just about a 1B to All Day.

Yelp
Looks promising. Still soft opening so I'll probably update the review once they are fully opened. The crust is great. This is thin crust ... so you'll need to fold it. The sell slices and full pies. Lots of people were ordering their salads ... so will get that next time. Ordered a slice and some wine on tap. A red served chilled. Right now, once you order from the cashier you have to order your drinks at the same time unless you can flag someone at the bar. They also have cocktails too so you can have a good adult pizza party too. Since they just opened they get really busy and when I went the line went out the door. Remember this place is still in its soft opening phase so they are working allot of things out. So glad to have a pizza option back in the Hyde Park/North Loop area,

Yelp
Allday Pizza All day is simply the best nyc pizza in atx. I have been blessed to try everything at their terrytown location, and was so excited to come to their new brick & mortar and it knocked my socks off! The vodka slice is incredible! It has the best flavors and is balanced so well, not too saucy. The chicken cutlet was insaneeee. It was crusted with cheese and the verde sauce was delicious. This was great. The desserts are all 10/10 - ice cream and the confetti cake , so so comforting. I will be back for more!! Congrats team!

Yelp
Good service, crust is good. Star taken away: Pizza is expensive. If you order a pizza with sausage do not expect much sausage at all. Like barely any. Disappointed with that.

Yelp
Excellent overall experience at Allday. I'm particular about my pie, and this was terrific; I'd eat it again in a heartbeat. The staff was great and very friendly, the owner was on the floor and made us feel welcome. And great vibes in there!
