Alley Steakhouse - Review - Los Feliz - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Alley Steakhouse has taken over the former Atrium space in Los Feliz, and it looks like they kept much of what made it a stunning dining room. You’ll still find the wood-beamed ceilings, the backlit curved bar in the middle, and a back alley patio with brick walls. And as with many steakhouses, the menu here goes wide with lots of appetizers, pizzas, pastas, seafood, and, of course, big steaks like a dinosaur tomahawk. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Cathy Park

Best Under-the-Radar New Restaurant Openings to Check Out in Los Angeles, March 2025 | Eater LA

"Has taken over the former Atrium space in Los Feliz, including the adjoining brick-laden alleyway. The menu offers approachable, family-friendly classics like pizza, pasta and, of course, steaks; make sure to ask about the “dinosaur” tomahawk, which is served at market price." - Rebecca Roland

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Alley on Vermont – A One-of-a-Kind Steakhouse Experience! Alley on Vermont is hands down the best steakhouse in Los Angeles. From the moment you sit down, the intimate seating makes you feel like you have your own personal chef. The 40oz ribeye is perfectly cooked and melts in your mouth, and the lobster tail is absolute perfection. Pair that with all the sides you could dream of, and you’ve got an unforgettable meal. The service? Spot on—attentive, professional, and welcoming. This place truly checks every box: world-class food, impeccable service, and a cozy atmosphere that makes every visit feel special. If you’re in Los Feliz (or anywhere in LA), Alley on Vermont is a must-visit. It’s the kind of spot that lights up your plate and leaves you planning your next visit before you even leave!

Had an absolutely lovely time here the other night! Our server Eliza was so kind and courteous and made us feel very much attended to. They went out of their way to consistently check in on us and make sure that everyone at our table was happy. They were also super personable which is always bonus points for our family. We love to chat with our servers and always appreciate when they are open to getting to know us too! Overall great night. 10/10 would go again.

Thoughtful service and tasty food. We sat inside where the lighting and decor was romantic, but the alley itself seemed like a nice spot too. The New York strip was delicious as was the seafood pasta, but I recommend the creme brulee if you have space for dessert - it was a highlight for me. Apparently they just opened, but they seem to be off to a good start!

Yelp
Wow! Staggeringly delicious. I had what I think is the best pappardelle short rib Ragu I've ever had in my life. I ordered a side salad which was as perfectly fresh and delightful as possible. Fresh baked bread. This restaurant is outstanding.

Yelp
I had high hopes given the early buzz and positive reviews, but our experience was really underwhelming. We were literally the only diners in the restaurant, yet the service was slow and inattentive. What stood out most was a $3 surcharge for a dry martini -- something I've never encountered at any bar or restaurant, and frankly makes no sense for a drink that requires less effort. The food itself was just okay -- not bad, but nothing memorable. With so few guests, you'd expect everything to be sharper, from the kitchen to the floor. Hopefully this is just a case of early growing pains, but from what we experienced, there's a lot of work to do to justify the price point and reputation.

Yelp
For starters, the food is the best around. We couldn't resist but take picture of every meal we had and appreciate the nicely decorated plates. Therapy service was outstanding with our waiter checking to make sure we are ok. Then the manager approached us and greeted us to make sure we are Ok. The manager then invited us to try dessert on the house. We couldn't say no and we had no regret to indulge in sweet heavenly tiramisu. The ambience was very mellow and candle light ambience. We enjoyed every aspect of our dinner here. I definitely recommend.

Yelp
Hole in the wall but classy ambience. Affordable but worthy steaks. Piano bar in the background. This is a MUST place to go to, AT LEAST once, for Oaklanders and visitors.

Yelp
Great little spot see Sean bartender Fantastic drinks plus you can order anything from great piece of steak or simple dish of sushi... I had the privilege to meet the owner... most humbled stand up regular guy. I thought he was just a fantastic waiter. Hands down...the best place Joe.

Yelp
Wow... what a hidden gem!! Met with some friends for drinks at Bar One across the alleyway and decided to grab dinner at the steakhouse afterwards (so glad I did). The ambiance was very chic and relaxed. The booths are comfortable and clean. I personally think the music and lighting are perfect for a private meal with a date or your significant other. They have a wide selection of wines and an interesting menu filled with a decent amount of creative options that look like something out of the Iron Chef! Decided to go all in on a 16oz ENOURMOUS lobster tail. I'm pretty picky about my seafood and I have to say this was THE BEST lobster tail I've had in years. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was amazing! (My glass of water never fell below half) I even ran into the owner, and he asked me about my experience and gave me a handshake on the way out... great guy. Definitely coming back to try out more things on the menu. If you're in the Silverlake area and are craving high-quality food and drinks... this is the spot... plus the bar across the hall is the perfect transition to extend the night!

Yelp
Went back again a few days ago and I must say!!! I was not disappointed !! Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted very kindly and was quickly seated at my table. The vibes were still as great as last time,,, and provided me with a sense of comfort :-). The open skylight really provides a charming ambiance to the room :-))). This time, I ordered the "Bone in Rib Eye" (40oz), the "Fried Calamari", the "Seafood Pasta" (pappardelle, pesto garlic, shrimp), and a lobster mac & cheese! To start, the rib eye was HUGE and juicy. To be honest, it was a little overwhelming because of how much of it there was...But thankfully, I was able to share it with my group! For the price, I really did get a lot which is something I appreciated! I loved the sauces it came with because they weren't too overpowering, and simply enhanced the ribeye. The calamari was also very huge... I loved the crispiness and taste of it. Not only did they properly season it, but I was impressed by the presentation ! It felt as if each piece was intentionally placed in order to give the sauce in the center a boost in aura. For the seafood pasta, I ordered pappardelle pasta with pesto garlic sauce and shrimp! It was soo well seasoned and was one of the best I think i've ever tried in my life. They did not hold back on the seafood that was in it either; Lots of mussels, clams, shrimp, octopus... And lastly, the lobster mac & cheese! I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful it was. The flavor was overflowing with a creamy lobster taste; There was no bitterness that I would normally taste in other lobster mac n cheese dishes. So it was very surprising that this mac n cheese did not taste bitter at all. The macaroni was very small, which also threw me off a bit,, but thinking back on it, it probably helped absorb the flavor of the sauce much better. It would've been nice if the pasta was shelled instead, but this shape also served to taste exquisitely delightful. In this day and age, I feel like restaurants hold back on giving more.. But it seems as if Alley Steakhouse doesn't ! Every single dish was packed and filled to the brim of the plate/ bowl!! The flavor? Perfect and delicious. The service? Amazing and professional. The atmosphere? Pleasant and delightful. I normally find myself feeling disappointed by the second time I visit a restaurant that blew me away the first time; However, Alley Steakhouse exceeded my expectations once again!!! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Finally open! You have to try everything on the menu, especially the lobster, which is my absolute favorite. It was incredibly delicious! The service was excellent, the music had a cozy yet energetic vibe, and the staff were all super friendly, even though it's a brand new spot. It's a fun mix of Asian and American flavors. Highly recommended!!!. you need to check it out!

Yelp
Tonight was our first time here at Alley Steakhouse and we will definitely return. First thing we noticed was the beautiful design of the restaurant and we were seated in one of the very comfortable/cozy booths. The service was A+++ and the food was fantastic. We ordered the filet mignon with a side of creamed spinach and the cheese ravioli with the garlic butter sauce. Perfection. Can't wait to return here and try some of their other dishes.

Yelp
The steak was pricey and pretty disappointing. We got the 16oz ribeye, medium temp (best way to cook fatty ribeye imo). We also asked for it to be pre-cut as I was sharing with my date. The meat came out with no sear... it was gray and seemed slightly cold. Seems like they threw it in an oven to bring it to temp then finished on a grill (it had some grill marks). It was also pre-cut with the grain. Ultimately not what i expect for a $75 16oz steak. The ambiance was nice, sides were great. Jake our waiter was awesome, super attentive.

Yelp
Ambiance was good. Service was good. The steak I had was good. The calamari on the yelp photo is what sent me in here. Although the calamari was good, they did not include both sauces. I had to ask for the aioli sauce. Also, not enough sauce for the amount of calamari rings. I wanted the bone in rib eye but they sold out so I opted for the regular ribeye. That was good. Ordered the Miso Salmon, not so good. Had to send it back, wasn't fresh. Cocktails were decent. Crème Brûlée my favorite was ok... the custard wasn't so custardy but slightly on the runny side. Good flavor though. Overall, it was a nice experience. It wasn't 100% what I expected but I wanted to try a new spot.

Yelp
My family loved the open wood ceiling that created no echoes and offered a feeling of nature in the midst of such a dense urban area of LA. The food was delicious with savory sides, great sauces for the beautifully prepared meats and exquisite salads too. All the drinks were nicely crafted. Our server, Zach was friendly and knowledgeable, while the other wait staff kept checking for our drinks and bread, with a visit from owner! A wonderful flight of desserts was great. We highly recommend this new addition in the heart of Los Feliz. Don't miss this open space off Vermont with very comfortable upholstered seating---finally!!

Yelp
My experience at Alley Steakhouse was 10/10. All the food, service & ambiance were perfect. The server was attentive and kind. My favorites were charred octopus & calamari. 100% returning soon.

Yelp
Went here with a friend and we will definitely be back. We tried the spicy tuna crispy rice, calamari, pesto pasta and a pizza. Everything was great. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice spot on the east side.
