"Both the à la carte and tasting menus offer well-crafted European dishes strewn with Asian accents. To start, try their signature tofu in an ethereal panko crust, topped with mushrooms, leeks, truffle, bonito flakes and a foie gras emulsion or you might sample their beurre blanc ice cream with fine de Claire oyster, caviar and hazelnut foam. For a grand finale, order the whisky chocolate fondant – brace yourself for the runny centre, smoky and nutty aromas. First-class whisky list." - Michelin Inspector

Second time here, and there are some changes to the place as the front is undergoing some renovation. Service was still friendly and the food arrived in a timely manner. We loved the fried bread done mantou style, which went well with the smoked butter. The crab butter was also nice but was slightly on the fishy side, as was the cauliflower pie tie. We liked the seaweed cigar, and the blue fin tuna maki. The beef rossini was well presented and everything tasted great, from the foie gras to the mashed potato. The beef was slightly on the tough side. Dessert was tasty and decadent with rich triple chocolate. Portions were okay - we had thought that we might still be hungry after the meal, but we were satisfied. Sparkling water was S$9 +++ per person, which was a tad on the pricey side, though they did refill the glass a couple of times. It tasted ordinary and it would have been nice to have a slice of lemon etc. You can buy a parking coupon for $6 from the restaurant if you park at Goodwood Park Hotel, and it is valid for the day, which was convenient.

Really impressed with the presentation and flavours, all the courses were beautifully plated and the flavours were amazing! Had the eight course dinner and everyone in my party had only good comments on the food, service was really attentive without intruding into our conversations. My apologies for not getting the name of the gentleman who took care of us and described every course in detail, kudos for doing a fantastic job! Will definitely be returning when they change the menu (was informed about every three months) as its really great value for money.

One thing that struck me immediately was how even though this is a fine dining restaurant, the experience of dining was very comfortable. No snobby or slightly condescending attitude that you find at some of these high class places. You know you are getting good food and in a familial, unpretentious setting. 4 Course Lunch at $78++ per pax STARTERS 🥚Egg (Supplement $12) Chicken Velouté, Cep, Hollandaise 🦐 Scampi Tartare Compressed Watermelon, Dashi Jelly, Watermelon-Passionfruit Sorbet, Avocado 🫛 Chilled Chawanmushi Espuma Edamame Tofu Puree, Ikura, Algae Powder Set Menu comes with one complimentary serving of Multi-Grain Fried Mantou. MAINS 🦆 Duck Breast Orange, Purple Cabbage, Tamarind 🐄 Snow Aged Japanese Wagyu A5 (Supplement +$58) Leek Ash Aubergine, Cocoa Jus DESSERT 🍑 Peach Soursop Sorbet, Sakura, Salted Buttermilk Sago, Red Shiso 🍊Petit fours Everything was delicious. Pairings were all well thought through. The most surprising being the dessert which was both Japanese in presentation and flavour.

Fantastic food and service. Great quality for the price. The aged duck was exceptionally flavorful, the snow aged wagyu flawlessly executed and the foie gras was pure decadence! We also appreciated the relatively fast pace of the meal.

Alma by Juan Amador offers an exceptional fine dining experience where every detail is thoughtfully curated. The quality of food and ingredients is top-notch, with each dish showcasing finesse and depth. Highlight of the evening was the tooth fish—perfectly executed, delicate, and full of flavor. Service was outstanding throughout, with sommelier Jessi standing out for her spot-on wine pairings and warm professionalism. A truly memorable experience.

Service was great and the atmosphere was decent. The dishes have great presentations but the taste was slightly below expectations. Tasted the Crispy Skin Barramundi and Pork Puma and the taste was decent but not extraordinary. Therefore it felt like it was not really worth a revisit given the price.

Dinner at Alma by Juan Amador was an elegant, surprising, and deeply satisfying experience. Every dish that evening felt like a thoughtful expression layered, confident, and rooted in both European finesse and Asian precision. The journey began with a trio of snacks that set the tone. The Amaer Arbequina olive with Amur caviar was briny and bright, a punchy bite that opened the palate. The gougère, filled with broccolini and Comté and scented with white truffle, was warm, fluffy, and indulgent. The ankimo with persimmon and buckwheat was a standout, creamy, sweet, and earthy all at once. Then came the bafun uni with carrot and CATA coffee. At first glance, I didn’t expect coffee to pair with sea urchin, but somehow it worked, bittersweet, vegetal, and full of umami. The nama surko Palamós prawns with cucumber and Pecorino was light and clean, like the sea at first light. Things grew more luxurious with the chutoro, paired with Kaluga hybrid caviar, burrata, and jamón. Rich on rich, but balanced. The amberjack layered with foie gras, wakame, and smoked eel was complex, smoky, and utterly unique. Then shin ika arrived, a delicate preparation of squid with chervil root and abalone liver that melted with warmth. The hot dishes continued to impress. White tilefish with hamaguri clams, kabocha, and passionfruit brought a mix of sweet, tart, and briny. Shirako, with toasted rice and girolles, was creamy yet earthy, with the mustard cutting through at just the right moment. My main course was the highlight. The Kumamoto A4 beef (yes, I went for the supplement). Paired with polenta, cepes, and jus, it was pure indulgence tender, unctuous, and unforgettable. To close, a delicate, refreshing dessert: shine muscat with yuzu kosho, pear, and sorrel. Bright and herbaceous, it left the perfect final note. The team at Alma was warm, knowledgeable, and paced the meal with grace. The setting is intimate, tucked away in Goodwood Park Hotel felt like a quiet little world where time slowed down. Every course had a story, and together, they formed a beautiful, thoughtful experience. One I’ll be remembering for a long time.
