Alma Cocina in downtown Atlanta offers a vibrant menu of upscale Mexican cuisine with creative cocktails, perfect for unwinding after a busy day.
"After closing in March 2020 due to the pandemic, Latin American restaurant Alma Cocina returned to Peachtree Tower in downtown Atlanta in 2022. Expect tacos, tamales, and roast chicken mole here, along with fresh crudo with burnt nori-avocado puree and Anaheim peppers, a guajillo grilled octopus with ancho carrots, and pork belly served with charro beans and fresh tortilla. Pair a meal with one of Alma’s tequila or mezcal cocktails. Open for lunch and dinner. Reservations encouraged." - Henna Bakshi, Eater Staff
"Contemporary Mexican fine dining restaurant Alma Cocina reopened in 2022 after closing for two years during the pandemic. With another location in Buckhead, the restaurant serves modern Latin fare and cocktails. Try the tamarind tuna crudo to start and move on to the chicken tinga verde tacos or the mole-spiced NY strip. Be sure to peruse their extensive tequila and mezcal menu. In addition to dinner, the restaurant is open for lunch and happy hour." - Beth McKibben, Eater Staff
"After closing in March 2020 due to the pandemic, Latin American restaurant Alma Cocina returned to Peachtree Tower in downtown Atlanta this spring. Reservations encouraged." - Eater Staff
"This upscale Mexican restaurant sits across from the Ritz-Carlton in the giant 191 Peachtree Tower building. The red-hued, dark wood-toned dining room contains a mix of tourists and business travelers in town for conventions. But since it’s a cherished OG, locals also swing by for Happy Hour margaritas and their famous fruit- and spice-infused ice cubes drowned in tequila. And while the drinks are our favorite reason to come, the small plates are a good reason to stay awhile longer. Get the fried chihuahua cheese, which is served in a showy cauldron bubbling with salsa verde. And if after a few drinks you start to notice the stuffed longhorn on the wall mooing at you, just stay put and get an order of the tasty pork cochinita “pibil,” which is so tender it’ll render your knife useless. " - Juli Horsford
"The downtown Atlanta location of Latin American restaurant Alma Cocina reopens Saturday, April 30, after temporarily closing two years ago for the pandemic. With workers returning to offices and business travel and conventions resuming at hotels in downtown Atlanta, Fifth Group Restaurants partner Robby Kukler says they’re 'eager' to reopen the original location of Alma Cocina at 191 Peachtree Tower later this month." - Beth McKibben
