The 34 Best Restaurants in Madrid, Spain | Eater

"The queue outside this Chamberí bakery is proof of its success. Owners Timi Argyelan and Joaquín Escrivá developed a passion for baking while living in Vienna and Hungary, and the duo now produce a daily range of Nordic-style loaves, plum galettes, potato and olive focaccias, and raspberry and lemon Danishes. The best time to come is around 2 or 3 p.m. on a weekday to avoid the crowds and nab one of the seats with a view of the street. But stop in some other time to pick up pastries and coffee (sourced from the nearby Toma Café 2) to enjoy in the nearby Plaza de Olavide. Must-try dish: The pistachio croissant and pastry “basket” with vanilla and raspberry are very much worth the hype." - Paula Móvil

I wish I could eat here everyday. I was mind blown by the danish with blackberries and lemon/vanilla curd. I was so surprised by the peach inside and it was still warm when I got it. The pastry lamination was perfectly crunchy and the details with the lime on top just added the perfect touch. update: have also tried a few more things :) all so unreal.

I came across this hidden gem while wandering around the streets of Chamberí. The amazing smell of fresh pastries coming from inside immediately caught my attention, and I couldn’t resist stepping in. Even though it’s a small corner spot, it has a lovely charm to it. I first ordered a coffee, which was really well made, and then tried a couple of small pastries. Both were absolutely delicious. If you’re exploring the area, this is definitely a bakery you should stop by. A cozy place with great flavors! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

First of all, thanks so much to the ladies work here. They are really friendly and smiling. I've explored it on Google Maps, so decided exactly to eat this olive bread (pan). Each day I come here at 6 or 7 p.m., but unfortunately I couldn’t find this bread. The ladies told me to come in the morning. I said okay! Finally, I got to eat it. However, each time I came, I ate something different :) still don't know this bread's name, just tell them "this one this one" :) — The cake is a real flavor bomb.

For my birthday, I tried a little bit of everything. Overall, I’d rate the experience an 8 out of 10 — not because the quality wasn’t excellent, but simply because a few items weren’t to my personal taste. They also have a larger location outside the city center called Fábrica Alma Nomad, where you’ll find an even wider variety of products. Whether you’re in the mood for breakfast, lunch, or something in between, they have you covered.

An incredible bakery! Everything is delicious from sweet to savory. There’s always a line and for good reason, it’s totally worth it. Not many seats inside, but perfect for takeaway and a walk in the nearby park.

I grew up working in my father's bakery. I can say from the heart that these are some of the best baked goods in the entire world. They have an enormous selection of breads, tarts, cakes, and sweet or savory items. I have been going here every day since I arrived in Madrid and tried many of their items. Everything has been outstanding! There may be a line when you arrive, but I assure you it is worth it. There are 2 stools in there, but there is a gorgeous and quaint park across the street which is your best option to sit and eat.

This little bakery was highly recommended, and for good reason! Their pastries are DELICIOUS. I got the hazelnut and chocolate croissant. There’s not really a place to sit down and no AC, so plan to buy your pastries and then actually eat them somewhere else.

Alma Nomad Bakery is one of those places that quietly nails it. Warm, inviting, and effortlessly cool without trying too hard. We ordered the almond croissant and the Bostock—both were absolutely spot on. The croissant had that perfect balance of crisp edges and a soft, almost custardy center. The Bostock was rich, nutty, and satisfying without being heavy. Big shoutout to Ava—she was incredibly kind, warmed our croissant to perfection, and made all the right recommendations. It’s that kind of thoughtful service that makes a place memorable. Would go back in a heartbeat.
