The 34 Best Restaurants in Madrid, Spain | Eater

"The queue outside this Chamberí bakery is proof of its success. Owners Timi Argyelan and Joaquín Escrivá developed a passion for baking while living in Vienna and Hungary, and the duo now produce a daily range of Nordic-style loaves, plum galettes, potato and olive focaccias, and raspberry and lemon Danishes. The best time to come is around 2 or 3 p.m. on a weekday to avoid the crowds and nab one of the seats with a view of the street. But stop in some other time to pick up pastries and coffee (sourced from the nearby Toma Café 2) to enjoy in the nearby Plaza de Olavide. Must-try dish: The pistachio croissant and pastry “basket” with vanilla and raspberry are very much worth the hype." - Paula Móvil

An incredible bakery! Everything is delicious from sweet to savory. There’s always a line and for good reason, it’s totally worth it. Not many seats inside, but perfect for takeaway and a walk in the nearby park.

A must try in the city! The patisserie is crazy good, the croissant with pistachio and chocolate was my favorite but also the danish with cream and strawberry was delicious. You don't have too much space to sit inside the bakery, but a nearby park will solve that quite easily. Highly recommended as in my (tourist) opinion it is the best bakery in the city.

Alma Nomad Bakery is one of those places that quietly nails it. Warm, inviting, and effortlessly cool without trying too hard. We ordered the almond croissant and the Bostock—both were absolutely spot on. The croissant had that perfect balance of crisp edges and a soft, almost custardy center. The Bostock was rich, nutty, and satisfying without being heavy. Big shoutout to Ava—she was incredibly kind, warmed our croissant to perfection, and made all the right recommendations. It’s that kind of thoughtful service that makes a place memorable. Would go back in a heartbeat.

By far my favorite bakery in Madrid. An incredibly diverse selection of both sweet and savory baked goods — everything was absolutely mouthwatering. The focaccia pizza was extraordinary, the croissants were homemade, flaky, and rich, and the variety of pastries was exceptional. Every bite was a delight. Hands down, the best bakery I’ve visited in Madrid! Not much space for indoor seating.

This bakery is the cutest! I ordered the potato focaccia and it was salty and delicious. The iced matcha was good. The sweets looked amazing, too. The staff was super friendly despite my lacking Spanish skills. I wished there was seating outside, there’s limited indoor seating too… I’d recommend this as a spot to quickly stop by or to bring your pastries to the nearby park or benches.

Great little bakery. The pistachio croissants are really good. Pain au chocolat is hit or miss, sometimes great, sometimes not at all. Focaccias are tasty and the quiche is nice too. Only a few seats (like 4), but you can eat at Plaza de Olavide nearby.

They do a very unique version which is super crusty, from the croissant itself to the pistachio crust which was heavily roasted. Objectively speaking it's quite well done, although obviously comments like "best in Europe" is a bit of a stretch. Although I guess if you don't like airy flaky croissants, and you love the heartier crustier kind then you might prefer this a lot more than your textbook french croissants

This place was the biggest surprise during my last trip in Madrid. Their pastry is amazing. I had their “tarta de queso” a several times and it’s one of the best I ever had, creamy and rich and not too sweet. I also enjoyed their cherry gallette and the cinnamon and pistacchio roll. Everything was delicious. Prices are also affordable, so check it out next time, you won’t regret it.
