October: Our Most Exciting New Hotels

"The Comporta Peninsula is known for its endless expanse of idyllic Atlantic-facing beach. Less well travelled is the village of Comporta itself – but that’s where you’ll find AlmaLusa, a hotel remarkable for its ability to deliver a stylish and relaxing experience at a price that doesn’t exclude the vast majority of travellers." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

We stayed in AlmaLusa Comporta for one night and I we will be back. The suite was very cozy with a nice decoration, clean, and a good size for a family of three. The kitchenette is quite convenient for long stays. The general atmosphere is nice for a relaxing and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. We had dinner at the Library restaurant and we were very happy with the service and food. Location near beautiful beaches and golf courses. (You will need a car)

Beautiful boutique hotel right in the heart of Comporta. Stayed only one night but wish I could have stayed longer. Beautiful pool area in fact everything was beautiful - the rooms, the pool, the lobby and the cafe plus a great rooftop bar. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Special mention to Sylvia who is a lovely lady and took the time to show me Comporta from the hotel rooftop and gave me interesting information about the village and its history. Very tasteful and stylish decor. Delicious and varied breakfast also. Will definitely return.

We stayed here for a romantic weekend getaway, and I can’t recommend it enough. The room was beautifully appointed, with all the expected amenities plus thoughtful extra touches like welcome gifts and a handwritten note from the general manager. On our last day, we were delighted to receive a farewell gift—a lovely souvenir for our travels—along with another personal note. The hotel facilities were exceptional. We visited the Library Bar on our first night for a snack and drinks. Both the food and drinks were delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and communicative, making us feel very welcome. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of options. The eggs benedict was a standout. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next visit!

We had such a wonderful time at this hotel! We loved the place. While the room was a bit small (in first building), the AlmaLusa team goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable, so you will quickly forget about that little detail. The beds were super comfortable, and the service was delightful. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we can't wait to come back!

We stayed here for 2 nights and our Honeymoon and were very impressed. They upgraded our room free of charge and even left us a thoughtful note with a bottle of champagne. The hotel was beautiful and I found the staff to be very friendly. Also, the breakfasts were fantastic! Both my wife and I left with quite a sour taste in our mouth with the way they mishandled a situation. We booked a flamingo watching tour through the front desk in which we had to drive 40 minutes round trip. When we arrived to the Marina, they had no record of our booking. It was a lot of pointing fingers back and forth of who made the mistake. The company that they booked us with does do the tour but not this time of year and the only company that does did not have availability for a shared tour. Regardless, there was no apology from the hotel and instead it was immediately "It's not our fault". I just thought it was very poor customer service and I would have thought they would have stepped up to make it right.

Excellent. Beautiful hotel. Amazing staff !!!!! Great location. Rooms have the wow factor. Loads of incredibly good little restaurants very close by. Def going back. The best was the most amazing beaches 15 mins walk. It’s like cool Ibiza but without the crowds

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our honeymoon. Overall it was a beautiful and comfortable hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was nice, especially sitting outside. The room was pretty small, but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The rooftop bar had a good vibe and pretty sunset, but the service and food were terrible. We sat up there for more than two hours and after ordering our first drink no one came back to our table to take our food or additional drink orders. We had to go up to the bar or flag down a staff member to place each subsequent order. When we did finally order food it was all pretty disappointing, especially for the price. I would 100% stay at the hotel again, but skip the rooftop restaurant for dinner.
