We came here from Sacramento for some small bites prior to seeing Oppenheimer in IMAX at the theatre up the road. Fortunately for us the downtown IMAX was sold out, so we were forced to come to El Dorado Hills, and thusly, introduced to Almighty Bistro. Definitely was the highlight of our evening, movie included.
The style of the space is so great, feeling fresh and light but also earthy....it truly was a perfect ambiance to match the cuisine. And ohhhh the cuisine! We ordered the baked Brie (not to be missed), the artichokes (to die for and my favorite of the evening), mushrooms (my hubby's fav but is apparently leaving the menu soon) and the curry broth mussels ("she's an icon, she's a legend, she is the moment") along with some beer and wine from an excellent selection. Overall the food was, as the kids say, FiRe .
Service was also excellent. Our server was attentive while also giving us space to explore the menu ourselves and enjoy our company. She coursed out our plates as to not crowd our two top, and perfectly paired the items together (Brie + artichokes & mussels + mushrooms). And then as soon as she cleared the plates, we mentioned we'll take the check so we can catch our movie, she was lighting fast in getting us out the door, not even attempting to tempt us with dessert.
As we left I said to my husband "this place is worth the trip from Sac whether we see a movie or not!" to which he replied "Absolutely. Hopefully they will survive."
Help this place live a long heathy life so we can make the trek up the hill to visit it whenever we want!
