I first went to Aloha Playes about 9-12 months ago, and had a great experience. I got the fries and katsu sandwich, both of which were very flavorful, the sandwich having a ton of house sauce that was quite delicious. However, coming back today and making the same order I found myself disappointed. The burger was very dry overall, with there not being nearly as much sauce this time and the chicken meat being dry and not super flavorful. The fries were alright, but definitely in sore need of salt. This time I also got the pork sliders as a side, and for nearly 8 dollars, the two pulled pork sliders on Hawaiian rolls were definitely good, but overpriced for sure. Maybe I was there on an off-day, but it wasn’t the best value

Aloha Plates is a Hawaiian take out place right inside the food hall of Uwaijimaya. Lunch can get busy, but is the best time since they just make the mac salad right then. Prices are decent and portion size is good, taste is there as well. The service is good, they cook things right in front of you. There is very little seating inside the food hall so be prepared to take it to go.

Ono plate - the Chicken teriyaki & short rib, the chicken was over cooked. the plates in general looked sad and I was disappointed when I opened it. No vegetables or anything which I feel like when people say plate, it usually comes with a little more. straight up meat and rice. and the mac salad is the tiniest cup but I Guess I expected too much for $1.50 of mac salad. Service was fine, it's a takeout counter. open seating for all the food takeout places. would recommend the poke across this spot instead, they give hella big portions and it's delicious

Gross. Located in Uwajimaya food court. Not authentic hawaiian food. Not a very busy restaurant either. Ordered online for pick up and it was prepared and ready quickly. Spam musubi is $3.75. It is small and the rice absorbed the sauce from the spam. I got a combo plate called "Ono". The Ono plate consists of teriyaki chicken and short ribs. The pictures posted on Yelp look different compared to what I got. The short ribs in my plate had big bones! No thank you. The meat was chewy and fatty as well, so that was disappointing. The teriyaki chicken was alright fresh, but if you don't enjoy it right away it's harder and also salty. I think they use a really salty or maybe even Kikkoman shoyu. The meats were served on a bed of rice and grilled onions. The onions were a waste of space and did not pair well with the meat combination. I do not recommend this place at all. Don't waste your money.

Used to be my goto teriyaki. More recently I tried to order what used to be my go to order. Teriyaki with brown rice and Mac salad. First, they don't offer brown rice anymore. Or it's not available online. Disappointing but I continued. Next, I ordered with white rice and added 2 cups Mac salad for delivery. Then l, when it arrived here is what I noticed. 1. The white rice was wet and overcooked/soggy? It was starting to look more like pudding. Gross. 2. No Mac salad. They completely left it out of my order. Meaning I paid $4 for nothing. 3. The chicken is just okay. Overall really disappointing because this was my old favorite. I will also note that I used to get teriyaki because the katsu is usually too thin. So now I don't even trust them for what I would consider my "safe" order. Sad.

I have had this place a few times now. Trying something different every time. Their loco moco is good. Hard to mess that up. The short rib and teriyaki chicken is also good. The garlic shrimp is more buttery than garlicky. Also not super flavorful. That's disappointing. The katsu chicken is crispy but thin. And rather bland. Depending on your flavorful profile. Some dish are more flavorful than others. Pick based on what you like.

Decent Hawaiian fusion place. I saw the chicken katsu and got lured in. I had the chicken katsu loco moco. The gravy was tasty and the katsu texture was pretty good, I would have preferred a bit juicier chicken than what I got. The katsu itself wasn't that flavorful which I found disappointing but I think that's pretty traditional. For $16 a plate, I think it pretty average price for the food. Located in the uwajimaya food court, the place is casual. Service was a bit slower than other spots but nothing too crazy.

TLDR: Dry, overcooked food and being overpriced is not a very good combo to have. I got takeout from Aloha plates since I was craving hawaiian food, and boy do I wish that I had just waited to go somewhere nice instead of the closest nearby place. I ordered the chicken katsu and terriyaki chicken plate "Bok Bok" with Mac salad. My firat impression upon getting my food was a mild disappointment that the Mac salad, which i paid extra for, was pittifully small. While I've grown accustomed to getting a nice big scoop of Mac salad for free from many hawaiian grills, what I paid EXTRA for was really just a few small spoons of Mac salad. But it gets worse. The chicken katsu was 90% batter with just a sliver of dry chicken inside. And the terriyaki chicken was overcooked, giving the chicken a dry, stringy texture. Who knew that chicken could be dry even when lathered in tons of sauce. Overall, I'm probably never coming back here, and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone either.

Aloha Plates can be found in the food court of Uwajimaya Seattle. There were a lot of people in this food court trying out Aloha Plates so I wanted to check out their food. I was craving Hawaiian so I thought this would be a good fit! The person taking my order was nice and efficient. She also was kind to answer my questions about the portion sizes so I appreciated that. Once I paid she got my order number and immediately went back into the zone of taking other peoples orders. I really commemorate her for her diligent work! Once I got my food (the chicken katsu + Kalua pork combo - around $17), I was excited and hungry so I couldn't wait to dig in. I started with the macaroni salad and I loved it!! I tried the kalua pork as well and for some reason I thought it would be different. It felt a bit mushy but the flavoring was okay. I wasn't sure how to feel about it but it was just okay. I also tried the chicken katsu and it was so thin. I mean it wasn't bad but I just felt like it was too thin and I wanted a bit more meat on it. I think overall I think it was average and perhaps I would need to try one of their other dishes such as the short ribs or burgers.

Well I never had a problem before with this place but today when I order the meal online to pick up I notice I was charged like a extra 15 dollar for my meal all the items were up charge. The wait for one meal was extremely long. I waited 20 minutes for just a teriyaki chicken. The rice was sticky and hard. The chicken used to be good but now it's dry and lacks flavor. I remember I used to come here as a kid, the staff would always remember me and always give me extra chicken. Nowadays the staff lacks welcomeness and it seems like they don't want to be there. Also, $4 for 1 spam musubi that small is unbelievable.

Aloha Plates is one of the restaurant stands located in the Uwagimaya grocery store food court. I tried the chicken katsu and the kalua pig shredded pork. Both come with a side of rice and macaroni salad. The chicken katsu was my favorite of the two dishes. It had a perfect crunchy exterior that was so delicious! The shredded pork was tender and good too, I just loved the crunch of the chicken. I also loved the Mac salad. They offer other entrees too like burgers and shrimp, which I am eager to try next time I come to the food court. Just be wary if you come to the food court during the lunch or dinner rush, since there is limited seating within to eat. Just a few tables for a lot of people to share. But the food is easy to take to go and to eat at home as well.

I seen a lot of review for this place through other social media so I decided to check it out. We ordered ahead of time and the food was ready right when we got there. First, the cashier was super nice and considerate: she told us that she separate the sauce so that our food doesn't get mushy and made sure we had plenty of napkins and utensils. Food: Spam tacos / kalua pork tacos: these tacos are super filled with meat! It also came with some cabbages at the bottom. The meat was flavorful, tender, and juicy. I like the tonkatsu and salsa sauce mixed to go with these tacos. Also the taco shell was a little crispy as well. Loco moco with brown rice and green salad: definitely a good choice with brown rice as it was super flavorful and soft and just went well. The beef patty and egg was good but the star was definitely the gravy. The gravy was soooo good. I actually dipped the taco with the gravy as well. Price was really reasonable for what you get, we were stuffed by the end of the meal. I will definitely be back here for more food in the future!

Aloha plate is the first restaurant you'll see tucked away in uwajimaya's food hall, and might be the first place I'd recommend. While it's by no means HI good, it's excellent quick Hawaiian for the area, prices are reasonable and the portions are ginormous. I got the K&K plate (Chicken Katsu & Kalua Pork) and definitely had enough for two meals. My only gripe is that I wanted far more Mac salad than just the little condiment cup could hold.

This is our second long stay in Seattle, and given our homesickness for Hawaii/local grinds, we finally gave in to trying this place. We made it an Uber Eats night. The wife got a chicken katsu and kalua pig plate, and I had the fish burger with fries (not a unique Hawaii food but oh well). First off, the fish burger was exceptional. One of the best ones I've ever had. They give you a good amount of fish that was perfectly cooked and had amazing flavor. The fries were also good. The katsu was decent. Sorry, when you grow up on chicken katsu plates from L&L in Hawaii, mainland versions just don't come close. The chicken in this dish was so thin that it was primarily batter. The kalua pig lacked the smoke flavor and needed a bit more salt. Lastly, the Mac salad was decent but still not like Hawaii style. Overall, the dish had some good flavors... enough to remind me of Hawaii... but just not at the same level as Hawaii plate lunches. Portion size vs. cost also left more to be desired. Overall, I would come back here again to try other dishes, and would definitely have a fish burger again. FYI, my wife also got the little smokies plate for breakfast tomorrow but she hasn't sampled it yet.

We've been trying to find a new teriyaki place since Teriyaki 7 on Madison closed. This was not it. The chicken katsu barely had any chicken and was 90% tasteless breading. The teriyaki was chewy and had bits of cartilage. Kalua pork was tender but tasteless. All the plates came with a side of dry cabbage. Taking the price into consideration, this was absolutely not worth it. I never toss takeout but none of us wanted to finish our orders.

This place is a great reminder of home for my fiancé! The Loco Mocco is so tasty as the gravy is savory & made just right, not salty! You also get enough food that you actually walk away full for a cheap price to pay compared to a lot of other spots! Anyone that's from the Islands knows that it's true Island style when you get a full plate for cheap! The fried banana balls were such a surprisingly tasty treat. I loved the addition of coconut on the inside! To top it all off, the woman behind the counter was so polite & sweet, carrying the spirit of Aloha throughout the entire interaction & then some. Thank you! Will definitely be back soon as we live down the street!

My first visit to Aloha Plates in the Uwajimaya Food Court (9/1/19). We were killing time for seating at another ID restaurant. The line also at a mochi doughnut place was ridiculous. Two words = Spam musubis. Didn't look at the rest of the menu, probably should next time. Also, start a stamp card. Forgot to do this. You get two musubis with one order. The Homie gobbled one before we made a mad dash back to the text from the other restaurant. I ate two today and The Homie ate his other one, all three were refrigerated overnight, unwrapped and briefly microwaved. Wow - this are flavorful! But then it doesn't take much to get me excited having a musubi. Being Filipino American, steamed rice and Spam just needs eggs! Favorite Hawaiian places to date include north is Bobby's in north Lynnwood, south is Kauai Family Kitchen, decent musubis at Cafe Kai in Bremerton and Central Market in Poulsbo....further west over in Oahu, Kauai, Maui, or the Big Island. Especially at Foodland. lol Definitely will make it a point to look at the rest of the menu and sit down to get my carb quota of two scoop rice, one scoop mac for ono grinds at Aloha Plates.

Truly the nicest customer service I've ever received from a "Food Court" styled business. Pum is the sweetest person ever and takes each and every single order coming in with so much thoughtfulness. They go above and beyond to customize orders so that every customer leave completely satisfied. They have a wide menu with various Hawaiian dishes, such as kalua pork and loco moco. Prices are reasonable, for huge portions, so you'll definitely be full, and if you're not - grab yourself a spam musubi! My favorite order is their seafood combo, which comes with beef short ribs, fried shrimp, and fried cod. I also love the curry katsu, though I wish they were a bit more generous with the amount of curry they give you. Their garlic shrimp is also amazing (definitely ask for extra sauce!) Each order comes with a side of white or brown rice, and Mac/green salad, but you're always free to pick and choose your combo. Located right inside the Uwajimaya food court, Aloha Plates is always busy with a steady stream of people getting meals to-go, or dining in at the food court seating. Give it a try, you won't regret it!

Update: I'm not sure if these are new owners, but the quality of the food has gone down significantly. I had my usual garlic prawns and it was not good. The rice tasted like it was cooked in too much water, the sauce tasted like mayonnaise... not sure where the garlic was in the sauce because I didn't taste any, and there was no side salad. The sauce used to be buttery and garlicky, now it's bland and the mayonnaise consistency is unappetizing. Definitely not worth the price increase.

If you're looking for a quick treat while you're shopping, get the fried banana balls! The pair are pretty hefty with a warm, shredded coconut & banana interior and a satisfyingly crunchy breaded exterior. I'm glad I don't live super close by, or else I'd be getting this way too often.

Strangely enough, one of the best places to go for Spam Musubi! Each one is made to order and not sitting in saran wrap for hours on end! The spam is grilled slightly and the ratio of rice to spam is optimal! This is the only item i get here! A great pre-meal snack!

Been going to Aloha Plates for Chicken Katsu, Moco Loco, and Spam Masubi for 7+ years. After being told they won't take cash, and can only order by card, yesterday was probably my last visit. I was also trying to be charged $7.71 for 2 spam masubi that was being advertised for the Food Walk for $6 that day. I don't understand how restaurants that have been a staple for fixed-income locals, during a food shortage, and ever-growing inflation would switch to credit/debit cards only. Is it not bad enough we are priced out of Seattle city limits every year? Now were being priced out from restaurants.

This place is pretty decent. The lady running the register is very friendly and personable. She's very quick and efficient. You know how you go to some places and they take a long time for you to order, pay and get your food? Well this place is not that. I usually get the huli huli chicken with rice. On some days, they will do fried huli huli. Portion last me for 2 meals. It comes with either a salad or macaroni salad. Pretty satisfying. You can build your own meal based on your preference. Like add 2 eggs to your meal for $2 more. It's one of the better options in Uwaji's food court.

Pros- The food itself is somewhere between "decent" and "good". I am from Hawaii and had everything on the menu back in Hawaii, and it doesn't compare, but I don't expect the same tastes outside of the islands. It is decent 'plate lunch' food. Everything on the menu has various ways it can be prepared, and this place does everything the vanilla way. It's clean, simple and good. Not a bad thing. Cons- For what you are getting, it's expensive. I look for value rather than price point, and this is kind of high for the portions you get IMO.

Been here several times now and it's always good with friendly service. Also, the plate portions are good enough for 2 regular meals, or one really really hungry person. My favorites are probably the fried huli huli chicken and chicken teriyaki. The fried chicken still had crispiness, even after steaming in the box for 15 minutes on my way home, and has a pretty deep flavor. The teriyaki is comparable to other good teriyaki in the area flavor-wise, but differs in that they don't compress it like the other places do. As a result, the chicken here has a more natural grilled texture and isn't a little rubbery like other places can get from compression. I also recommend calling ahead and doing some shopping in Uwajimaya so you don't have to wait around.

I used the grub hub app to order lunch today while at work and it was the best idea ever!I order the Huli Huli chicken plate, mac salad, and gyoza! Enough food to feed an army! First and foremost everyone that worked at this restaurant straight up had so much love as soon as we walked in the door (maybe cause it's still covid and they just happy to have business)... but man it was nice to walk into some smiles. The spam musubi was coo. The rice was a little soft for my liking but overall it was 3/5. (Just get it from uwajimaya ).... The Katsu musubi was f***in great just make sure u order a small side of teriyaki or katsu sauce to dip!! Uh, let's see, oh!! The food came out hella quick and I feel like they blessed us with extras too. The teriyaki and rice was great. But my absolute favorite was the loco moco. The gravy was hella savory, i loved the amount of food and it wasn't too too expensive (major key for me). I'm going to go around Seattle and try more loco moco and make a top 5 list, for now this place does in fact make the cut. I will be returning.
