"Aloha Snacks is just a few blocks from the Oceanfront boardwalk and has everything you need for a relaxing day in the sand. The greatest hits are their two breakfast burrito options, served all day loaded with eggs, delicious bacon or kalua pork, and soft sticky rice. We’re also big fans of their poke bowls that have both pan-Asian and Southern influences, like the Farmer’s Poke with fried green tomatoes and coconut aioli. While Aloha Snacks makes it easy to bring your meal to the beach, you should stick around and enjoy the surfer-themed interior—they also have a great selection of beer and beach-themed cocktails like guava crush and a riff on a Bloody Mary that comes with spam and tempura shrimp. " - anne cruz

Google
My family and I have been looking for a place that was similar to Hawaii for quite some time, and this place hit the nail on the head. From the building/interior/decorations, to the delicious poke. Staff was very friendly, loved everything about this place !! Will be coming here again :)

Google
We loved the Hawaiian snack shop vibe of the atmosphere and the cowboy burger had some tasty patties. I will confess that personally I am not a big fan of spam or sweet with my protein (pineapple on the burger), but that is just my preference and I knew that going in and wanted something with the island flare ... It did not disappoint in this aspect 🙂 My wife enjoyed the poke bowl and wanted more, but we can appreciate the portions/costs need to match the real estate. Great tastes and even more fun atmosphere! Oh and the waffle fries were seasoned to perfection!!

Google
We only had a chance to try out some Malasadas and our favorite Aloha drinks, but the staff was very helpful, and the menu looks delicious. Especially if you are missing Hawaii (home) like me. Definitely coming back to try more on the menu. Love the chill vibes 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Google
I’ve been all around the world and this is the best poke I’ve ever had. it’s obvious the intention behind not just the fish, rice and ingredients, but the textures and combinations. the place is super cool too and gives me nostalgic vibes. Feels like a short escape to some other place like a jungle beach, poke shop.

Google
Relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with flavorful twists on Hawaiian, Asian, and Southern foods. Chef Jesse is usually on site and takes time to go around the dining room to greet his customers. It's a nice place right off the beach. The standard menu offers a good variety, and the daily specials are just as tempting.

Google
Food came out beautiful but we had to eat first (so we are doing the presentation an injustice with the picture). It was absolutely delicious. Heather was an absolute gem! So accommodating and made sure we were comfortable outside with our furry friend. Ordered a variety and everything was 10/10. So happy we found this spot:)

Matea L.

Google
2/3/24 - came back and got to try to Korean BBQ wrap. It was delicious. I also didn't realize I get fries with it. They are waffle fries which are my favorite. They had a nice crisp to them too. 12/16/23 - what a cool spot. The interior decor is so cute. The staff was super nice and patient. I got the south Pacific farmer bowl to go. Lots of items to choose from the menu but not overwhelming. The bowl was so good. I would really like to come back and try some other items. Hopefully I can soon! I highly recommend trying the food and stopping by.

Google
Not too many times I’m blown away but this spot literally blew my mind. Next level menu of food and drinks. The Guava Crush and Pineapple Squeeze are probably the best drinks I’ve had in all of Virginia Beach. I got the Rockfish Sammy was bussin as the kids say. Heather was super friendly and made the drinks to perfection. Such an awesome vibe. Love IT

Yelp
If you find yourself in our fair city, I highly suggest to visit without a doubt Aloha Snacks. Not only for 1 reason. There are several. 1. The food. It's been a hot second since the last time I have been to Hawaii. Hubby went to meet his west coast team (most lived Hawaii) and a childhood friend of mine that lives out there now. 2. Aloha Snacks creator got his inspiration from his honeymoon. Chef Jesse competed against Bobby Flay in Beat Bobby Flay. In which Jesse won. I must say, with my kid being a fan of the show. 3. And bringing the west coast foods to the east coast. 4. Funky, fun and relaxed vibe here. In my humble opinion, this place has brought awesome west coast vibes to the east coast. The food here is phenomenal give it a try........

Yelp
Here in town for a wedding in the fall (off season). We wanted something quick, healthy and walking distance from the beach. This place is 3 blocks away, easy walk. The owner (former high end chef) opened this place up 7 years ago. Service is very friendly as the owner took our order. He was very friendly and gave us cool stickers. The ambiance is pretty chill like a proper snack shake in Honolulu. I would avoid the franchises and try this place out. Food was delicious and freshly prepared.

Jon P.

Yelp
The shrimp poke bowl saved this review. Service was not the best. And we waited 30 minutes for two Poke Bowls and they were not busy at 2PM. The two bowls alone costed $24 and $20 with $5 tax made it a $50 meal. Luckily, the shrimp poke bowl was very good in comparison to the tuna, and the ingredients were fresh for both. Not sure if we were just extremely hungry though since we waited so long. Nonetheless, I'll give this spot a fair 3 stars. The shrimp bowl for $20 was definitely good, but not sure if it warrants the price point or to bump this up to 4 stars.

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal! Stopped by Aloha Snacks during our winter getaway to Virginia Beach, and it was the highlight of our trip. The Tsunami Poke Bowl was out-of-this-world delicious--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The lumpia? Crispy, savory perfection. On top of that, the service was outstanding--friendly, fast, and welcoming. This spot is a must-visit if you're in the area. Can't wait to come back next time we're in town. So good!

Sandy C.

Yelp
The food, service and location are all great! I had the lumpia and loco moco, which is some of the best of both I've had since leaving Hawaii. There's no way I can think of you won't like it!!

Julio H.

Yelp
You need to check this place out. This place is fantastic. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is laid back. And the staff is great. The menu could be weird if you are unfamiliar with Hawaii fast food. Hawaii's food is a mix of Asian culture, and this place has a little of everything. They have spam! Mainland Americans look down on spam, not Hawaiians. They do a great job adding spam to their dishes. Give it a shot. The menu changes! This is not a chain restaurant with the same old dishes year after year. Their burgers are on point, messy, and delicious. The place is small, and in the summer, it gets packed, but it's worth it. Oh, and I hear they do catering.

Su Y.

Yelp
Great little restaurant with Hawaiian theming. It was really chill and the food and drinks were great. Yummy bacon cheeseburger cheesesteak, chicken tenders and waffle fries. We also enjoyed the haupia malasada and the Aloha lattes. Staff was also very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
First time stopping in while some friends and I were hanging near the beachfront. I am glad we stopped in! I'm always a bit wary with places like this in that the prices could be a bit much for what you get but Aloha Snacks delivers unique and quality food for the cost. I ordered the Hawaiian Cowboy burger. This double smash patty burger also features a slice of crispy spam and pineapple in between. This was honestly one of the better burgers I have had in the 757. The flavor combo of the pineapple, burger and spam was delicious. I didn't really notice the huli sauce but I'm sure it added to the whole experience. 10/10 would recommend this burger. The dirty fries were ok. The queso and spam were great but front loaded on top of the other fries. They are on a plate in the featured picture because we found it easier to dump out of the larger cup to share. My only grief with the fries is that they are on the saltier side. Whatever seasoning goes on there, while tasty, is an additional saltiness to the dish. Regardless they are still good. We also got a couple cocktails as it was the tail end of happy hour. The painkiller was very good! My friends had the pineapple squeeze. It was good but I much preferred my painkiller. Overall, this is a great spot near the beach to grab a quick burger or other unique items.

Laura W.

Yelp
off season lunchtime is surprisingly busy. That's a good sign, but not very fast service. so many options, it was hard to make up my mind.

Jessica L.

Yelp
It was our first time here. It wasn't too busy when we went. The restaurant is adorned with beautiful plants and cool decorations. Staff was friendly. Didn't wait too long for the food. The food was a little too salty for me but otherwise delicious. They have their own parking lot which is nice.

Eddie K.

Yelp
This was a pleasant find in VA beach! It was about a ten-minute walk from the Hilton. We ordered the Moco Loco, Lumpia, Musubi and Tuna bites. I was very satisfied with the Moco Loco - the gravy was so good and made this dish. My daughters devoured the Musubi - rice tasted fresh and who doesn't love Spam! I did like the Lumpia- but wish it had more beef inside it. For the tuna bites, you need to eat it right away or it will become a soggy mess if it's in a take-out container. This was our favorite beach eats and we will return when we are back. Need to try out their other dishes. The owner was very nice and welcoming.

Jessica J.

Yelp
Food was okay, place was dirty. Distracted me from eating. Color of poke was a little off for me, my husband ate mine. I did love the bulgogi cheesesteak. Oh and the boy behind register was nice. Might be back, but not in a rush.

Mary-Ann L.

Yelp
Nice corner location with ample parking. You get transported to a cool hipster place without a care in the world. Merchandise greets you as you enter the first set of doors. It's like an elevated tiki bar atmosphere. Service is nice and friendly. Jesse even gave us his number to contact as he had wanted immersive experience for his patrons where the island dance can be taught even just once at this cool place. I ordered the poke bowl with ahi tuna, fried green tomato, avocado, greens. It was good.

Jcub T.

Yelp
I was visiting Virginia Beach because I had wanted to visit a school there, and decided to relax after and eat some decent grub. This place did not disappoint. I am very picky when it comes to Poke Bowls because it has to be done reasonably well. Let me tell you, this was the BEST poke bowl I ever had at this establishment. It was very unique in what they combined in it. I will definitely visit this place again and try out a lot of other things on the menu that sound just as delicious.

Isaac H.

Yelp
In my honest opinion, this was a good attempt at Hawaiian food solely based on the quality/taste of their food. I was born and raised in Hawaii, so I know I'm a little biased and even though it's not my favorite Hawaiian food, it's still tastes good! The service is super friendly and approachable. The location is very conveniently located near the Oceanfront (as any Hawaiian-style restaurant should be near the ocean) and the dining area itself is very peaceful and vibrant. I loved that they had Aloha Maid drinks, it's super common in Hawaii and made me think of home a bit. What did shock me and was the spam musubi and the price of the Aloha Maid drinks. They add pineapple to the spam musubi and honestly that's pretty unnecessary. The taste of the pineapple does a disservice to the musubi (in my opinion) because I couldn't taste the spam at all. And then just one bite into it and it all just falls apart, so idk if that's an issue with the rice or the seaweed wrap. Lastly, I was just shocked that the Aloha Maid drinks were $5 each when they're ~$2-$3 in Hawaii but I guess that's taxes and shipping for you.... Overall, a good experience! A couple of shock factors but not enough to make it a negative experience. At the very least, I'm just happy they don't throw pineapple on everything and call it "Hawaiian" as some places do...

Yelp
Came with my friends during a weekday evening in the summertime, they weren't super busy when I first came in but it definitely picked up later in the night. I ordered the shiso crazy salmon poke bowl: it was a refreshing bowl but a little light for my taste, especially the salmon which did not taste like much. I also had a strawberry matcha soda because the packaging was cute lol, but I personally would not buy again because it was not my taste. My friend had also put in an order for spam musubi, but it did not come out with the rest of the food and seemed like it was forgotten. After we asked about it, the staff apologized and brought it out fairly quickly afterwards. Overall, a neat place with decent food, I'd still come back to try and explore more of their menu!

Torrey H.

Yelp
My food was amazing! The customer service was great. I am usually very critical. But let me tell you, if you are looking for a great Hawaiian styled experience definitely check Aloha Snacks out. I am here in Virginia Beach for work, and passed this place and turned around and came back! When I walked in, I was greeted. There was a couple screaming at the manager when I walked in saying his food was horrible, and was just belligerent -- both he and his wife were very rude in how they were speaking to the manager. The manager offered at least 5 different ways to resolve the issue for them and they just kept yelling and being nasty. It did make me a tad nervous because I was like hmmm if they didn't like the food I might not, so I ordered almost the same thing the couple did.... The couple was absolutely wrong because my food was PERFECT! The ambiance in the building was cool! It reminded me of my Hawaiian experience. I give this place a 5 out of 5!!

Kevin E.

Yelp
This place is the GO TO if you're craving the best musubi on the waterfront. The pone here is also to die for

Lily X.

Yelp
We ordered a farmers poke bowl ($20) and a soy cured tuna poke bowl ($24). Half of the bowl is salty rice with few pieces of tuna. So salty and over priced in my opinion. There is a 3% credit card surcharge added to the total at the end of the bill. How ridiculous is this?

Lauren B.

Yelp
The poke is delicious and fresh. Also enjoyed the gourmet fries with crispy Spam. However, the service was lacking especially for the price point. The team that was on staff during my visit was trying their very best and were as accommodating as they could be. It seemed that they were just short-staffed and in need of some additional support. Hoping to give them a try again at a time when the value is more evident.

Bobby N.

Yelp
Best food you will ever eat! Freshest ingredients and most incredible specials and menu items!! 10/10

Carly S.

Yelp
Came here on recommendations..lived in Hawaii for 5 years and really miss the food. Got burgers and loco moco bowl and 3 different malasadas. The waffle fries were cold and soggy but the burger was good. The malasadas were hard as a rock and fillings were sickingly sweet. They do not come close to the malasadas in Hawaii. Kind of a let down. Service was ok..kind of lacking.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Hands-down the best fish we've had while in Virginia Beach, plus original combinations of foods and flavors that will blow your mind. Did I know poke was better with fried green tomatoes? I did not, but clearly it is. (Best fried green tomatoes I've had here too, which is amazing since they're in everyone's seasonal menus right now.)

Fina K.

Yelp
Who doesn't love SPAM. It's truly local favorite. The entrance and decorations does make feel like your back at the Islands! Ordered Soy Cured Tuna Poke. It was very yummy! And service was quick. Will definitely come back and try the Spam!

P M.

Yelp
Really great food! One of those dive whole in the walls with really great fresh food. The Korean fried chicken wrap is a solid pick!

Georgia J.

Yelp
The best Saturday morning spot! My favorite s place to get an unmatched breakfast burrito + cold brew combo... the service is super friendly, helpful, and quick, and the vibe is just as fun. Everything tastes so fresh and it always hits!

Ruby S.

Yelp
A great place to grab a bite to eat at the oceanfront! Love the variety on the menu. I've tried a handful of items and they're all delicious. Occasionally the fries have been overcooked to where they're just crispy and no potato. But for the most part food quality is consistent. I love the drink selection from kombucha to mixed drinks. They have a drive through & indoor and outdoor seating. Small store front but you can take it to go as well!

Myra C.

Yelp
So ONO! The Farmers Bowl was great. Poke with avocado, rice, greens, and fried green tomatoes. Pork dumplings are a must. The bulgogi fries were pretty good too. So very fresh and the atmosphere inside is totally chill. I'll be back to try the Musubi.

Olivia S.

Yelp
Came here after mini golf wanting a bite to eat around 3pm. Service was good and food was tasty. I got the farmer poke and loved it! I loved the style of the restaurant as well.

Roger G.

Yelp
Ok. I have had Poke before. But this was by far the best and super fresh. They got the fish from the Atlantic day of. And it was well made. Take a break from the fried fish and get a bowl. Great Hawaiian classics to try too. They even have drive thru pick up and outside seating.

Ayana R.

Yelp
Aloha Snacks is a great place to stop by when in town. Great variety of foods. Burgers are a hit. Little let down over multiple take out orders. Good people, good vibes :)

Sirena P.

Yelp
Came here to grab a few musubis before walking around the beach and they were not good at all. My husband is Hawaiian so we've had our fair share of musubi in our life. The restaurant is trying make the musubi "fancy" which shouldn't be done. These are supposed to be a quick easy handheld food not something you have to use a knife and fork with because you are worried the sauce they put on it will get on you. The rice had way too much vinegar in it and musubis never have pineapple. Very disappointed. The restaurant itself is very cute and clean, but based off this one item we won't be back trying anything else. If you can't make something so simple scared to try anything else.

Meredith M.

Yelp
The best sushirittos in VA-hands down. You can get breakfast, lunch, and dinner all the same spot! The inside is straight Hawaiian surf shop vibes and the food is incomparable!

Kiana V.

Yelp
Stopped here before leaving our Virginia Beach vacation. And it did not disappoint. The workers were really personable and nice. They offered great recommendations. The food was yummy and came out fairly quickly. The drinks were yummy and good value. Will definitely be coming back! The restaurant was also really cute! Well decorated.

Maricia Y.

Yelp
My husband took us here for lunch during our anniversary weekend celebration and the food was so fresh & tasty. The patio where you could sit outside need cleaning and it's a pretty small place so there were no seats inside. Also the fried green tomatoes were not seasoned at all but crunchy. I would probably recommend ordering to go just because it's a small tight spot.

Wilbur R.

Yelp
As much as I love this place, I ordered a Kids Chicken Teriyaki bowl and a traditional spam musubi plus a drink. On a regular day I would've received that in 15-20min. Today, that took about 45mins, with people that ordered after me receiving their orders. I'm usually not that guy that'll raise hell if I don't get service, but I will speak up if it gets a little too ridiculous, and it got to that point. The food tasted good and presented well, but the delivery was faaaar from being okay or acceptable. Don't know if I'll be back.

Chad P.

Yelp
Best vibes in Virginia Beach! The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere makes you feel like you are chillin in Maui. Drinks, food, everything is awesome. I wish they had a location in the Atlanta area.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Off the water and kinda hidden, but absolutely worth stopping by!! The food is AMAZING and the staff is super nice! A chill vibe and a shady patio make this a great lunch spot!! I had the pineapple grilled chicken wrap and it was delicious! Food pricing, excellent food!

PJ N.

Yelp
They need some new decor as it is nasty inside which I have should have take, as hint at the food quality. I took one bite out of my order and thought I was going to puke. Few days ago. Walked out. Put this IPA, mayo and massive douse of teriyaki and strange pineapple mixture on everything. Way overpriced as well for tiny pieces of ~ you call those - fries? Awful

Nicole N.

Yelp
First time checking out Aloha Snacks and had a good time overall! The shiso crazy salmon was my fav! High quality salmon in a coconut lime sauce that paired surprisingly well with the savory seaweed/rice and sweet pineapple/mango paste! I've always gotten primarily savory pokes in the past so this one definitely introduced me to new flavor combos. The coconut taste was prominent but wasn't too overwhelming. Felt like all the flavors mixed really well together! The salmon philly sushi-rito was ok in my opinion. Basically a sushi burrito it had salmon, shiso crazy salmon, some cream cheese, mango, and avocado wrapped in sticky rice, then topped with Sriracha. While the fish was good the other ingredients were all on the softer/mushier side so I didn't love the texture. The sauce was also only ok - wish it had a little more salt or seasoning. Also tried the traditional musubi! Pretty solid with an additional slice of seared pineapple and their special dragon sauce. I felt that the spam to rice to sauce ratio was pretty good. The store itself was spacious and I loved the Hawaiian decor! It also has a drive through option so maybe that's why my food too a little longer than expected? Food was a little pricey for their portion sizes, but their fish quality was v solid. Staff were friendly and readily offered recommendations/answers to my questions! Lots of parking options too. If I was in VB again I'd come back to try their other poke!

Liz W.

Yelp
Nice place. Cute eclectic aesthetic. Small. Very casual. Everything was made fresh to order, not quick. We had Sisho Crazy Salmon Poke Bowl and Adobo Noodle Bowl. We liked them, but wouldn't order them again. I think the "Sisho" was too strong for me in my dish. I would try the place again at some point, other items on the menu sound good.

A T.

Yelp
Wow!! Great food. Great Service!! Would Highly recommend. And I would definitely go back. -Snow

Melissa K.

Yelp
We went as a huge group and if you are a large party here are some pointers. We went at opening because as a large group seating together is hard to find. This place has indoor and outdoor seating. You may want to Look at menu before arriving because you do order at the register and their menu can be over whelming. Here's a quick list of what my group ordered Tuna poke bowl Bang bang dries Ramen Korean wings Pad Thai Kiddie dogs Pineapple burger Breakfast misube Honestly that's all I remember I probably jacked up the names of everything lol. Anyway the menu was like how you would imagine if there were too many Asian chefs in the kitchen. The fusion was not fusing for us. All 3 ramens was salty and sour however if you eat the egg n ramen without the broth it was good lol the shredded beef was good eaten separately i think it's why the broth was sour. I wonder if that was like bbq beef rib meat making the broth sour. The tuna texture in the poke was weird like it was marinaded overnight in eel jelly and soy. The only thing bang banging in the fries was the shrimp. The kimchi and added sauce either made the fries soggy or disappear. The spam lacked culture. Lol.... It was still good breakfast missube. Only thing I heard that was good from the group was the hot dogs and the burger. The wings were a good size but honestly just very bland IF you don't dip it in any sauce. One group member said "The skin was crunchy the meat just taste like meat unless I dip" lol. My suggestion is read the ingredients list for each dish and if it seems like a word combo it probably is. Let me know what you think of the other dishes? Because us Asians can be snobby about our foods My tastebuds did not like but the vibe was vibing. Mahalo! Sorry I didn't take any food photos because there seems to be plenty available.

Ray N.

Yelp
I ordered the Hawaiian Cowboy $13 (!!) and it was delicious. Every bite was a different flavor, the pineapple slice, spam, the two seasoned patties. The bun was just ok. The included waffle fries were tasty but not warm at all. We decided to eat inside as it was not that crowded and the outside covered deck was tempting but the 95+ degree temps discouraged us. The beads of sweat that quickly appeared on our foreheads made us rethink our choice. We were directly underneath an a/c vent and never got any relief. Even the canned drinks from their fridge were tepid. $33 for Two people seemed a bit high in a less than desirable environment. I will probably come back to see if it was just a fluke.

Brooke R.

Yelp
The food is very interesting and different from other places in Virginia Beach. It's a solid place to go to grab lunch

Lina L.

Yelp
The food was really good! Recently went with my boyfriend when we were on vacation. It was a little slow but we're patient people, so that's not an issue. The food was delicious but definitely more expensive than I expected. The aesthetic of the place is super cute though! Definitely try it if you get the chance

Katrina S.

Yelp
So glad we stumbled upon this place cos my tummy and the baby in it is very happy! We came in for a late lunch (around 4pm) on a Friday and it was not too busy. I had the Chicken Caesar Ono salad for my meal and guava juice and my husband had a Hawaiian Cowboy burger and fries with a beer. Both meals were sooo delicious!!! I'm always pleased when I find a salad that's not your typical salad and fresh and very tasty. My husband feels the same way about burgers. His had a double patty, pineapple and spam. Our toddler was happy with the fries! Just realized later on that we could have gotten her some salmon bites too. The Hawaiian Beach Vibe is very cool, food came quick, pleasant servers, awesome food. Will def be back!

Caroline T.

Yelp
rude service, not vegetarian friendly ordered the veggie ono burrito (i'm vegetarian) when it came out i noticed what looked like bacon on it. my friends tried it and confirmed that it was bacon. i brought the burrito back to the server who apologized and said it would be remade. a man then came out of the kitchen and argued with me that it wasn't bacon on the burrito but rather it was kimchi (ik what kimchi looks like and there's no way anyone mixes up the taste of kimchi w bacon), another cook came out of the kitchen and interrupted the man arguing and told me it would be remade it and it was no problem the remade burrito came out and when i opened it there was once again bacon on it. i think whoever is wrapping the burrito had bacon on their hands or there's bacon on the prep space. i gave up and just picked it off, but very disappointing for a place that is claiming to be "vegetarian friendly"

Yelp
Ordered 2 spam masubis, simpleton burger, Korean fried chicken wrap, teriyaki chicken bowl, the burger with avocado, 1 can of mango juice, 1 chocolate milk, a can of coke, a sparkling water, and a pineapple cocktail drink. The total was $98, which is unbelievably expensive for the subpar food that we received. We were really trying to like this place because we love Hawaiian food. After ordering, I observed some tension between a couple of the staff members. The place itself was neat, tidy, and clean. No points taken away for cleanliness. We moved to an area that doesn't have Hawaiian food so while we were staying in Virginia Beach, we found this Hawaiian restaurant and since haven't had spam masubis in over a year, we were really craving them! The spam was sliced so thin, the rice had a weird tangy flavor and they put a slice of pineapple on top of it. I've never had this type of spam masubi and quite frankly wouldn't want to try it again. The burger buns were dry and both burgers weren't anything I'd order twice. The wrap wasn't even that great either. The chicken for the teriyaki chicken bowl was fried with sauce on top. The sauce was tangy. Definitely a different type of teriyaki chicken that we were not used to and wouldn't order again. The pineapple cocktail was probably the best thing we tried there. For the price of everything, you'd expect to receive amazing Hawaiian food but that definitely wasn't the case. I would not recommend this place to anyone craving Hawaiian food because this isn't anything like it. Sadly, We honestly would've been better off eating at McDonald's.
