The Best Hot Chicken In LA

"At just $6.95, you can get two sandwiches at Al’s Hot Chicken - one for now, and one for later when you realize you’ve become addicted to LA’s spiciest hot chicken. Here it comes with all the traditional characteristics of the Tennessee staple: strong cayenne flavor, crispy skin made from a fiery dry rub, and chili oil that fills all the nooks and crannies on every piece of chicken. Al’s Nash sandwich is topped with a lightly toasted bun filled with their secret sauce, a boneless breast, pickles, and a sweet yet crunchy slaw. Again, this place is a go-to for the tried and true, but keep in mind that the chicken here is seriously hot - one spice level even requires an actual waiver. This potentially hazardous chicken comes in at 2.2 million SHU, which is science lingo for, “Please think twice because your body might never forgive you.” You’ve been warned." - sylvio martins

Chicken and waffles, loaded macaroni, and other items in our order were all good. It was properly seasoned and cooked. We went with the medium hot option. They very much served as delicious, fantastic cuisine. No doubt. The items were ready in less than 15 minutes. You can expect good service because it is cooked to order. Keep it up!

There’s no denying the fried chicken craze is everywhere lately, with new spots popping up left and right. But let me tell you, nothing compares to Al’s. Their chicken stands out for its size, juiciness, and perfect crispiness. The signature seasoning? Absolutely unmatched. Unlike other places that drown their flavorless chicken in sauce, Al’s Hot Chicken doesn’t need to rely on that trick. I’m thrilled to see more locations opening up, and you can bet I’ll be stopping by the next time I’m in the area. I love that they offer more than just hot chicken sandwiches and tenders, with a great variety of sauces to choose from too. While there weren’t many employees at this particular location, the one at the front counter was extremely friendly and helpful. It was my first time there, so I asked for a couple of recommendations, and they did not disappoint. I went with combo number three, which came with tenders and fries. The chicken was incredibly juicy, with or without sauce, and you could really taste the care they put into it. They definitely know what they’re doing in the kitchen. I also tried the macaroni and cheese, and it was incredibly creamy with the pasta cooked perfectly to al dente. It was a nice complement to the meal and added to the overall experience. I do wish the menu had more kid-friendly items or options for vegetarians, but overall, I had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back. The restaurant was clean and well-organized. While there isn’t a ton of seating, and it can get crowded, as long as you go at a decent time, you should be fine.

I’ve been to the other Al’s and wanted to check this one out because it was closer. Great spot, a lot bigger and a patio area for outside seating. I ordered the half chicken at a medium level spice. At medium spice it was very delicious but got me sweating a lot. It was a very satisfying meal with a whole lot of fries. I had the ranch and honey sauces. The chicken was cooked perfectly but the exterior skin parts were a little hard but still overall great half chicken. Finished it off with a Diet Coke & I highly recommend this spot if you’re in town.

Google
Was so good! I had tried another hot chicken joint just up the street a few months prior that left something to be desired. Al's was my 2nd hot chicken experience and it hit the trifecta delivering in freshness, value, and flavor (my kingdom for a spicy mole sauce, guys!!). Criticisms? Could use more slaw and the sheer amount of fries are totally unnecessary as you'll need to save room. I'm eager to go back and sample the menu.

Google
My partner and I decided to try out all the spicy fried chicken joints in Culver City and this is hands down the best one. 100x better than Dave’s across the street. Fries are some of the best I’ve had and chicken in the sandwich was generously sized, juicy and perfectly fried. Make sure to get Al’s white sauce on the side for the fries 😍 The storefront is unassuming but def recommend giving this place a try. A pleasant surprise!

Google
I usually order from the SM location but delivery defaults to this location when I'm home. I've ordered several times from the Venice location, and there was always a problem. I ordered several combos and they always seem to forget something or are purposely being stingy. My mom and request extra seasoning on our fries and for good measure, will ask for some on the side, because they never apply the extra seasoning to the fries. The last delivery from them, I asked the delivery driver to see if they'd give him a small container on the side and they said they put it in the bag. They didn't and they didn't add the extra seasoning to the fries either. You'd think I'm asking for the winning lottery ticket when it comes to asking for a side of fry seasoning. If I'm spending a minimum of $35, the least they could do is get my order right or give the side of seasoning. I'll only order from the SM location even if it means driving to go get it.

Google
I ordered combo #2 which comes with two sandwiches and two fries. The spice level I got was hot and it was definitely spicy. I love spicy food so this was perfect for me but if you don’t like spice, get mild. The employees were really nice! Plenty of parking in the back. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.

David Schwartz

Google
I ordered the chicken sandwich combo with mild heat. Honestly it's nothing special. The chicken had a kick but it wasn't even that crispy. Not much lettuce didn't give it a crisp and the bun, while big, was just kind of plain white bread. The pickle did give it some sourness but the chicken and lettuce needed more. The price and value however are great. Sandwich and fries are only $8 and it's a pretty big piece of chicken.

Yelp
Best hot chicken place in LA by far! Had the sandwich (spicy level medium) and tenders (spicy level hot) with fries for take out. Loved the spicy level on the sandwich, it was the perfect kick! Tenders were at a best spicy for anyone who wants to be chugging water in a good way-- make sure to get the white sauce. It was super good with the chicken!

Yelp
Big sad- the last 2 times I've been here they closed at 9:30pm and earlier despite it saying they're open until 11pm. If you're going to consistently close early, then adjust your advertised hours. I do really like the food here and want to go back because it's much better than Daves Hot Chicken across the street, but it sucks they're advertised hours of operations are giving misinformation.

Yelp
I enjoy this spot! It's local and easy order easy pick up. There is street and parking lot access depending on your needs. They offer basic beverages like soda Snapple and water. Service is always good and quick The ambiance is casual but they did just do some upgrades and they have outdoor seating if you wish. I would recommend 8/10

Yelp
What happened ?!! I ordered takeout on Yelp and ended up picking it up at Dama Grill? I'm so confused. Don't get me wrong but the sandwich was good (large piece of chicken and very spicy like I like it) but someone tell me what's going on?? Are you Al's or not?
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
There's always, Maher here, and is a really great guy. He makes sure your food is the way you like it. And the hospitality is endearing. But only chicken tenders! No more chicken pieces or buckets.

Yelp
Was really looking forward to getting this again since it had been a while. Unfortunately this experience was not as I remembered the chicken was just not as good and the seasoning on the chicken was good but it had no crunch and the flour seasoning was just falling off the chicken. Gotta say the best thing was possibly the waffles they have. As for the service even tho it seems like there is always a language barrier between the person at the register they are always trying and very kind so I respect that.

Yelp
MAD! I came an hour away for this location not to be here. Yelp said it was opened & when I called, it just said to go online. Online said it was open but it's no longer there.... REALLY P*SSED

Yelp
I have nothing against this place but my brothers and I were wondering how this place has such a high review on Yelp. The chicken took forever to come out and the chicken had WAYYYYYYY TOO MUCH spice powders. It was pretty empty at a dinner time. They had a free soda for checking in but the owner seemed to have no idea what it was. I am glad I got to try it but I just think this place a mediocre place who is trying to copy Dave's Hot chicken place.

Yelp
The Food was amazing the Service was Great and make you wanna come back for seconds hahaha sshheeshhhhhhhh Sauses were amazing fries were on point and can't wait for many more items to get put on the menu soon !!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
They got rid of the chicken wings and the like from this restaurant and incorporated the falafel Mediterranean food. That was a big mistake on their part. What they had before was good and now I won't be returning to eat here. Save your money people because they won't give you quality or quantity worth your money. Sorry to say, their service sucks as well. The estimated wait time is ridiculous for 2 simple plates. I'm my, don't let me get started on how the place looks. There is no ambiance and the chairs and are dusty for the most part. Wet floors constantly and nothing is updated. Not good tasting food. I'll keep looking elsewhere to eat. They doomed themselves. Oh well

Yelp
Tried Al's for the first time in 2020 and have ordered a handful of times from them since They used to be a shawarma place but not turned into a Nashville style chicken sandwich place - lots of competition in the area with Dave's being across the street and Reds down the way on Venice It's decent - ordered from them on NYE as they were one of the few places that were still opened. on NYE i had a medium spicy sandwich with extra spicy sauce and honey sauce what i like about al's that sets them apart from the other nashville places is their sandwiches are full size instead of sliders however, this time the sandwhich/chicken had a weird chemical taste - like it was cleaned with a cleaning solution so i tossed it othertimes i've had their loaded fries which were super loaded maybe ye was a fluke, overall it's a good place but i think for other options in the area that offer nashville style chicken it doesnt measure up

Yelp
If you're not a local forget it. You'll never find the location. Fries were flavorless. I ordered hot and it barely registered above mild. Sadly miss the location on Santa Monica Blvd. that was great!

Simon M.

Yelp
Here's the deal Al's. I like your chicken. I like your sandwiches. I like your fries. But every single time I order for delivery, you forget one, or all of the sauces. Usually all. It's happened so many times I'm ready to whip this laptop into a wall. So you get a 1/5. I'll order four more times. If I get everything I ordered the next four times, I'll increase the rating to a 5. But if any or all of the sauces I ordered are left out a single time, I'm done with you forever. Dave's Hot Chicken is literally across the street, and the haven't messed up a single order. Let it be known to anyone ordering for delivery from Al's. You're not going to get what you paid for.

Yelp
Halal fried chicken and waffles? Heck yes! Ended up going to Al's for the first time today and absolutely loved it. Here's a rundown below: Parking: There's a lot in the back with a decent amount of spaces available, including a decent amount of street parking nearby. Service: Friendly and welcoming staff. Ambience: Comfy vibe, very casual. Decent mix of seating inside as well as outside with a tarp for protection from the rain and sun. Food: I'd ordered the 2 piece leg and thigh combo /w waffles. Hands down some of the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. Great Nashville spice rub, crispy and flavorful with every bite, and succulent chicken. Went really well with the white sauce that was complimentary with the order. The waffles had nice texture, served with a side of butter and syrup, so without hesitation I slathered it all over the couple of pieces that came with the order. It was an absolute sugar rush, and very filling. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty empty. Service was super friendly and there was a little wait for our food but it came out sooo hot and fresh. The nashville rub on the chicken was perfect, it was the perfect amount of sweet and spicy.

Yelp
Based on reviews I was hoping to really like Al's. Love Nashville hot chicken and is the only friend chicken I occasionally allow myself to indulge in. Even though my experience fell short, I might give it another try, if I'm in the area. Why? Better prices than other hot chicken places in West LA, good service and a small private parking lot in the back, a huge commodity in LA. I learned that next time I should order a higher spice level. Quarter Chicken meal was moist but covered in dry spices and I guess a thin batter. Next time I'll order at least one higher spice level. Maybe it was a bad day, but my chicken didn't taste spicy at all. The taste resembled the BBQ on flavored potato chips. Only a few bites were randomly spicy. Got 2 sauces with my order, 8 kinds. Service was good. The employee offered sauce samples. My side of cole slaw was great. A little expensive for almost $7 but a large amount. Usually don't like sour pickles but its acidity balanced with the chicken and sweet slaw. I liked the krinkle cut fries and lots of them! The interior is fun, chickens on the wall and a screen with concert footage. When I went in spring they took Covid precautions with open doors. Felt comfortable enough to eat indoors. They have a big covered patio in front. They also have chicken sandwiches, strips and waffles. Also curious about banana pudding, another fave!
google avatar

Amber R.

Yelp
When we received our order the fries were really soggy and clearly old. The sauces were also generic honey mustard and hot sauce even though they advertised as something unique to Al's. The chicken was pretty good, but our food wasn't labeled so we didn't know who got spicy and who got medium... Overall, I was really bummed because we wanted to try this forever.
google avatar

Andrew G.

Yelp
Let's just say that I am an avid hot chicken sandwich consumer, so I have high standards when trying a new restaurant. Upon entering, I was a bit hesitant based on the fact that the restaurant will split into two restaurants, one mediterranean restaurant and a hot chicken restaurant, which were served by the same people and had a shared kitchen. However, when I received my sandwich, I was surprised by the size and excited to take a bite. Boy, oh boy, that sandwich was delicious. The chicken was extremely tender and juicy and the sauce pack just enough punch. That, paired with the coleslaw and bun, made a sandwich that is worth coming back for. If you are in the Culver City area, I would highly recommend visiting Al's Hot Chicken.

Yelp
Years later, and we still LOVE Al's Hot Chicken! There's a boat load of competition out there lately with the fried chicken craze shops popping up all over the place. But let me tell ya, nothin compares to Al's. Their chicken is fat, juicy, and crunchy. Their signature seasoning is unmatched anywhere else. Other spots try to get you to sauce it up to cover that dry breast, but not our friend Al. They make their own white sauce too, and it's so tasty. I'm so happy to see they have more locations now, so we can order from them whenever we're craving a GOOD chicken sandwich. Thanks guys, keep up the good work!!

Chris T.

Yelp
I've been here 3 times so far. The first time was the best. The chicken strips are juicy and cooked well. I made the mistake of choosing "butter on the side" for the waffles, but they didn't include any butter or anything else so the waffles were dry. Triple check your order.
google avatar

Melanie L.

Yelp
Okay listen, I'm not a huge fan of hot chicken sandos but my fiancé is so we decided to give Al's Hot Chicken a try...and tbh I might finally understand the hot chicken sando craze! We got the Nash Sandwich Combo #2 and boy is it worth it. Two sandos w/ fries for only $20?! What a steal. We tried it in Medium and Hot - we love spicy food so both were very doable for us but if your spice tolerance is low then I'd definitely stick to mild. For sauces we got Al's Hot Sauce (a subtle spice creamy sauce), Al's Honey Sauce (kinda like if you mixed honey mustard and bbq sauce), and Al's White Sauce (basically Mayo with pepper). The slaw was very good and the pickles had a nice twang to it. We preferred the Hot Sauce and White Sauce with the sando but I really liked the Honey Sauce with the fries! I love that they offer more variety on their menu than just hot chicken sando and tenders and that they have a good selection of sauces for you to choose from. I definitely recommend this spot!! Good portion size & very affordable.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for chicken and waffles so I had to stop by after seeing all of the rave reviews. Al's definitely did not disappoint! The chicken was hot and fresh and the waffle was the perfect sweetness. The food was absolutely delicious and I can't wait to come back and try more. So happy I found a new chicken and waffle place to enjoy!
google avatar

Ray A.

Yelp
Giving this a 4 because I can't do half ratings but in reality I'd say it's a 3.5. Gonna be comparing this to Howling Ray's and Dave's hot chicken because I've had these all pretty recently and Dave's is also across the street so I had Dave's and Al's back to back. Sandwich was good. Everything was better in Al's sandwich than Dave's except for how moist the chicken was. Dave's chicken is noticeably juicier but saltier and with less filling. Salt levels were perfect in Al's sandwich but slightly less moist than Dave's. Yes it's a slider vs a sandwich but they're sold at the same price so I'd say it's comparable. I'd say Al's sandwich is better than Dave's overall. Dave's had no crisp. Just felt like seasoned unbattered chicken whereas Al's had a little crisp but it was just as you'd expect for a regular chicken sandwich (not as crispy as Howlin Ray's). Filling and quality of ingredients felt better at Al's. Fries had a better texture at Dave's but were better seasoned at Al's. Spice levels: like every other generic restaurant. Don't come here expecting Howlin Ray's level of spiciness. Medium for me at Ray's gets me stuttering and sweating whereas medium at Dave's and Al's had pretty undetectable levels of spiciness so if you want something with more of a kick order a few levels higher. All that said I'm surprised at how empty Al's was. Came around right after lunchtime and Al's had zero people while Dave's was pretty busy but I'd say that Al's hot chicken is overall the better place. They even have better side and sauce options. That being said, compared to all the other hot chicken places in LA it's pretty solid but i wouldn't make a special trip for it. Definitely better than Dave's but doesn't quite have that wow factor that Ray's has. I'd be willing to save the $4 extra to wait until it's not a Monday or Tuesday to go to Howlin Ray's

Yelp
In a land where there are so many Nashville-style fried chicken places, competition is a little tough. Located right along Venice Blvd, you can't miss this place. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant if you can't find street parking. Al's makes it easy to come here with two people. All you gotta do is get the combo #2 which gets you a slight discount on 2 sandwiches and 2 fries compared to ordering a la carte. The sandwich itself isn't all that special. I thought the bun was whatever and the chicken was a little dry. It looks juicier than it actually is. The chicken itself wasn't crispy, but rather crunchy because it was over fried. The fries were way overcooked and was more hard than crispy. While it sounds like a good deal, you can get a better fried chicken sandwich elsewhere. In addition, the self-serve drink station is gross. We just got 2 cups of water and the water came out warm and there were particles inside the water. The floors inside were sticky too. They need a cleaning!
google avatar

Courtney S.

Yelp
Delicious! Service was wonderful! Very large portions, can easily share combo between 2 people and leave FULL!
google avatar

Franco A.

Yelp
Al's Hot Chicken is a local hot chicken spot off Venice Blvd and Overland Blvd. Being very close to the popular hot chicken chain Dave's Hot Chicken, Al's definitely brings a slightly different formula that makes it worth checking out. The service is standard, and they have free parking in the back. The Chicken is solid and crispy. Choosing spice level, 1 step after no spice is fairly hot. Their waffle is actually really good! It's a belgian waffle and is really sweet. They make it so it's fairly bready but has good crisps. Overall, 7/10. Worth checking out if you're a fan of hot chicken.
google avatar

Matthew W.

Yelp
I'm going to start off by saying the chicken is good. It's tasty, it's juicy, and it's well done for a dry rub. It just isn't hot. I asked for the "LA's Hottest" supposéd 2 million Scoville hot sauce, and it is nothing close to it. I doubt it breaches the 15k mark. I was disappointed in the false advertising, but like I said, the chicken tasted fine if you think a Wisconsin cheese curd with mayo is spicy. Also it took 20 minutes for 2 sandwiches...
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I love a good spicy chicken sandwich or any type of fried chicken really, so I'm glad I got to stop by Al's hot chicken for lunch! I got the sandwich, tenders, and chicken and waffles which can come in different spice levels from mild to LA's hottest, which requires you to even sign a waiver form! I definitely cannot pass the medium spice level and I even thought that had a really good kick! My favorite was the Chicken and Waffles since the spicy and savory went so well with the sweet Belgian waffles! The skin on everything had a good crunch to it, and it was a bit more spicy than flavorful in my opinion but I loved the sauces it came with.
google avatar

Trent N.

Yelp
Doesn't make a top 10 Nashville hot chicken sandwich shop in LA. There's a sign at the cash register that says write an honest Yelp review and get an extra strip for free. I guess that's why there are so many reviews. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich combo #1. This comes with a sandwich and fries for $8.95. The sandwich is terribly disappointing. It is small, flavorless, the cole slaw is bad. There's really nothing good about it. I also ordered fried pickles and they were terrible. The breading was bad. On some of the pickles the breading was almost non-existent. At least the crinkle cut fries were ok. I felt sick after eating. Almost every single chicken shop in LA is better than here.
google avatar

Gabriela G.

Yelp
After working out and dieting for weeks to look skinny for my upcoming MX trip, I decided to splurge my calories on some sexy hot chicken tenders, sans fries and bread because balance, right? I debated between Dave's Hot Chicken and Al's but chose Al's because it had better reviews. Unfortunately for me, it was a huge mistake. My tenders were soggy, tasteless and had ZERO SPICE. I ordered via Postmates and my sauces were missing, I got fries instead of the coleslaw I ordered, and they were the saddest, soggiest little crinkle fries. These tenders and fries disappointed just like every fad diet and juice cleanse I've tried. This is my 3rd time ordering from here and the food is never consistent. I don't think I can give this place another chance. The time on the treadmill is simply not worth it. Sorry Al!
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
This one, people, is a serious slam dunk...there is simply nothing like Al's and he is less expensive by nearly half, for MORE food-very genrous helpings, and attentive nice people. Cannot say enough, except, if you don't also try his homemade banana pudding, you've missed out! Their chicken is chile rubbed, unlike others who mostly use a vinegar base, Al's is very unique...

Samuel C.

Yelp
2.5 stars. This is in no way a 4 star spot. The chicken was ok quality, but it was two dinky tenders on a gas station burger bun, with very little sauce and slaw (which seemed a couple days old.) It seems like a place that mainly caters to late night delivery. Not awful, but not worth going to when there are better options in the immediate vicinity.

Yelp
I've made it a bit of a personal mission to find the best hot chicken sandwich in the greater LA area: so when I saw there was a hole-in-the-wall hot chicken sandwich place walking distance from my new office, I had to check it out! Side note: if you are walking, there are many birds and lime scooters littered about the area. I rode one, and it was a ton of fun!! Just be careful, this is pretty heavily trafficked area with not-so-aware drivers! I ordered about 20 minutes ahead, and it was waiting for me when I got there. Guy at the counter was nice! Brought it back to the office to eat, and it wasn't too soggy from the walk! It was the PERFECT amount of breading - some hot chicken places go a little overboard, this was nice. Not too heavy, perfect for lunch :) because I didn't want to ruin my day (or destroy the shared bathroom so new on the job!), I opted for the Hot level. It was pretty light, nothing horrible, but definitely lingered for a while, if you're experienced you can definitely go hotter. I'm a bit of a hothead, so be warned it's not for the faint of heart either! It wasn't too greasy, chicken was moist, bun was fluffy and slightly sweet, and cole slaw topping was nice. I got an extra side of white sauce, it's delicious! Definitely recommend, especially at this price point.

Yelp
We come here often and love the Nashville style chicken! The place is accessible from the front or through West LA international market (door is by the spices!)

Yelp
Do not order online! My partner and I tried this yesterday and we're pleasantly surprised! Fresh Hot Tasty food! We ordered *The chicken tenders-country *The chicken sandwich-medium *Pickle chips Everything was great! But We over paid by ordering pickup through grub-hub/yelp. It's dramatically cheaper to order at the restaurant! *Disclaimer**food presentation was altered as I had already started eating!*

Yelp
I loveeeeeee this place!!!!!! To start off, parking is very easy on the side of the street or behind the building and the place is clean with plenty of seating inside and outside. The staff is also very kind and the food came out fast. Not to mention the food is halal, so you know your meat is nothing to worry about and healthier. The food was so hot and crunchy that you could taste how fresh it was with every bite. Definitely high quality food with great prices. 2 sandwiches and 2 fries were about $16 together which is great for the big portion. They also have a wide variety of sauces and we tried them all and enjoyed them with our sandwiches and fries. I would definitely come back next time to try it with the waffle as well. We got our heat as medium which was a good amount of heat but not too much at all, so if you are into spicy food I would suggest just going straight for the hot! The LA hottest is actually a dry rub. The only thing I would say is the mac n cheese should be baked with cheese and it would be amazing!! But either way this food was fresh, hot, filling, and tasty.

Yelp
I had this place for the first time about 2-3 years ago. This time I was still impressed about the chicken, waffles and sandwich. The first time I had it 2 years ago I'd give it a 5/5 but after having it today I would drop it a star if I was being picky. The place has insanely good waffles, chicken is juicy and tender. Not cheap with it's sauces either

Yelp
Got take out during covid. Got some tendies and a sandwich to try. They also have full chickens but I didn't get a chance to try it. This place has great nashville style fried chicken! Especially since it was a little difficult to find on the westside until recently. The tenders and sandwich are two different types of cuts which is a big deal to me (If I wanted tendies with bread I would've said so). The sandwich was a nice thick cut that remained juicy and tender inside without being under or overcooked. Tenders were also the same. Breading at Al's we a good light crisp that wasn't overwhelming. The spice level was also a good amount. Medium was a slight kick but the hot tenders made me reach for water (should've gotten a glass of milk in retrospect!) pretty often. Careful with ordering take out from this place since they use styrofoam, food tends to get soggy in those white containers so let them air out so you can keep everything crisp-this is especially important if you don't want your fries to go limp! Al's is great and it's great seeing so many hot chicken shops pop up in LA!

Yelp
The food here is consistently fresh & delicious but more importantly the staff is always super friendly, helpful, and kind. Highly recommend the banana pudding to end your meal + don't forget to tip the staff!!!

Yelp
So disappointing. Standards at Al's are dropping. It was one of our favorite spots. The last time we had it, the Mac and cheese was sour and tasted really bad. This time, not only did they get our order wrong, the also did not include any pickles in the order like they usually do. We paid a couple bucks extra to get the upgrade from normal fries to curly fries. I did get a refund for the upgrade from GrubHub tho. We gave Al's another shot and it didn't work out. Sorry to say, we won't be returning anymore. Unfortunate, since the service and food used to be pretty good.

Yelp
This is one of LA's best chicken spots with delicious chicken tenders and fries. Al's hot chicken has a few things you can get, such as chicken strips, chicken sandwiches, chicken and waffles, and even banana pudding. I ended up getting the chicken strips it's the 'hot' category. That's about the middle of the spice scale. My boyfriend got medium, which was still spicy. If you typically can handle a lot of spicy, hot might be a viable option, but it was so spicy, it's almost hard to enjoy. So I recommend getting 'medium' spice even if you think you can handle it. The chicken is super juicy. The fries have some spice sprinkles on them. And the bread is a great compliment to the chicken. My boyfriend also got the banana pudding and said it was really good, one of his favorite banana puddings out there. For sauces, you get 2 per meal. I got to try Al's honey sauce and spice sauce. The honey sauce tastes almost identical to the Chick Fil A sauce and the Spicy sauce is similar to a creamy light ranch. On the menu, it did say the chicken strips come with fries, bread, and pickles. But if you did get to take a look at my photos, there were no pickles. I would have to say that knocked it down for 4 stars. You want to get everything you pay for and they missed out on one essential part that I was looking forward to. There is free parking behind Al's in a shared parking lot. It's small and can get a little packed. I would recommend going to the Al's and giving them a try!

Yelp
The chicken sandwich was good and the fries were hot, crispy and seasoned! Thank you for the complimentary drink with my meal, Al's team!

Yelp
Came across this spot through GrubHub and now we've ordered takeout/delivery from here a few times. Nashville-style hot chicken spots seems to be really popular here in LA compared to NY but I'm not complaining. It's delicious, even though I tend to pick the milder options when I can. The chicken sandwich is excellent and so is their chicken and waffles. Definitely one of the better ones I've had over the years. Next time I'll try and remember to take a photo.

Yelp
It was good . Not amazing . Service was slow but nice people . Would i eat there again . No its not on my food radar it was overpriced . For what it was and the macaroni and cheese was so spicy we couldn't eat it
