This place specializes in everything boyoz, which is a flaky pastry particular of Izmir (originally of Sephardic Jewish origin), which may be confused with the more traditional borek that you can get anywhere else in Turkey but they're not the same thing. The dough has a slight resemblance to the flakiness of a croissant but it's a lot denser and flakier. You can get plain, savory and sweet boyoz. They essentially can fill these pastries with all kinds of things like minced meat, cheese, spinach, sweet tahini, etc. We tried both the minced meat and the sweet tahini boyoz, both were good but the meat one was the best. The sweet tahini was tasty but a bit too much for me to eat in one pastry.
