I absolutely LOVED the octopus! I am a huge octopus fan and they nailed it, it is my number one recommendation on the menu. My second favorite is the spicy fettuccine with shrimp. It was so flavorful and satisfying. The boudino for dessert was very big - great for sharing, even though it was so good I didn’t want to. Our server Roger was super kind and friendly, and Billy was making me awesome mocktails.

It’s a lovely little spot, I’d absolutely go again. It’s in a beautiful part of town. Food was delicious, i was especially happy with the beef tartar! The cocktails were perfect, bar tenders very talented, everyone was friendly. It was a bit of a busy night for them but despite that the bar tender, general manager and hostesses made me feel very welcomed and taken care of.

The manager, Ben, saved the day! I visited during restaurant week for lunch. The food was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh – you can tell they really take pride in their ingredients. The only downside was the slow service (which honestly seemed to be a recurring theme for the restaurants I visited during restaurant week). I think there was a mishap with the staff during the time we arrived. That said, the manager, Ben, went above and beyond to ensure that my friend and I were well taken care of despite the mishaps. His efforts definitely made the experience a better one and we appreciated the attention he gave us. I wish more restaurant managers took a page from Ben’s book. I’d definitely revisit for the amazing food.

I came with my friends for restaurant week and was able to taste various dishes. Appetizers: Burrata with prosciutto -delicious! Octopus- tender and hearty with chickpeas Crab arancini- great crab filling, but expect 5 smaller bite size balls compared to the typical large arancini balls Main dishes Tagliatelle duck confit- I wanted to be adventurous trying out new food, but it did not suit my preference. I’m maybe not a duck person. Gnocchi with wild boar ragu- delicious and well portioned Dessert Budino- very rich and creamy chocolate dessert Sticky toffee pudding- highly recommended Crème brûlée- I love the lemon citrus and creaminess Staff- very attentive, provided great service, and our waiter catered to our requests and questions Overall, restaurant provided a relaxed and enjoyable food experience.

We just visited the new Alta Strada location for the first time, after being regulars at the old K Street location. Billy and Adela were fantastic—went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was incredible! My boyfriend had the Rigatoni alla Vodka, and I had the Fettuccine, Spicy Shrimp Fra Diavolo, both were delicious. For dessert, the Sticky Toffee Pudding with candied walnuts and vanilla ice cream was absolutely delicious. The new space is beautiful with such a great vibe. We’ll definitely be coming back often. Highly recommend!

recently dined at Alta Strada, and it was nothing short of incredible. The gnocchi and duck tagliatelle were absolute standouts—perfectly executed and packed with flavor. I went with two friends, and we shared every dish, which allowed us to sample a wide variety from the menu. Every bite was perfection. The service was equally wonderful—attentive without being intrusive, and the staff made sure our experience was seamless. Overall, Alta Strada delivered a memorable meal from start to finish, and I can't wait to return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious and well-rounded dining experience!

Phenomenal experience. The staff could not have been kinder and the food was delicious. I loved the gnocchi. We did the restaurant week menu and every course was delightful. They also have a full bar and great wine list! We will DEFINITELY be going back!

Beautiful new space. I tasted a couple of dishes - my favorites were the hamachi crudo and the pork milanese. I sat at the bar and Nick took excellent care of my party. I look forward to returning with a larger group so that I can try more of the menu - hopefully soon! Welcome back to DC, Alta Strada!

The restaurant is located in the Canopy Hotel. I enjoyed eating lunch there during restaurant week with a few friends. I ordered from the restaurant week menu, and one friend ordered from the regular lunch menu. I ordered the Bluefin Tartar as an appetizer. It had a layer of avocado on top as well as some crunchy flakes. The tuna was mixed nicely with fish roe which popped nicely as I was chewing. We also received some toasted bread to go with our various appetizers. For my main course, I ordered the Crispy Chicken Burger which had crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato and fresh slices of avocado layered on top. Drizzled with a slightly spicy sauce (like a Sriracha mayo?) Chicken was tender and the bun was toasted well. Finally the dessert was a chocolate-peanut butter budino which had a creamy chocolate/peanut butter (thick pudding texture) topped with crunchy chocolate balls, whipped cream and toffee bits. Very rich and decadent! Loved it! Our servers were friendly and attentive from start to finish. The decor is a very calm and relaxing vibe and they have a nice long bar to have drinks after work.

Alta Strada does fantastic Italian food. I've been here numerous times on dates and just a nice ish meal out. Service is always amazing and the ambiance is intimate. Would not classify this as anything more than a nice dinner spot though.

My bf and I visited 2.15.25, and as expected, we were thoroughly pleased with the taste and quantity of our meals. Can't wait until they bring the crusty garlic bread and chicken parm back to this location . We were lucky to have the same server as we did when we first visited the K street location last summer 2024 and he was just as lovely and attentive .
