"Downtown Austin cafe Alta’s Cafe has been turned into a new restaurant earlier this spring overlooking the Colorado River. The 74 Trinity Street cafe is now the Perch as of May 2023. It still serves a similar menu of coffee, tea, bagels, pastries, no though wine." - Nadia Chaudhury

Great stop on Town Lake trail, great set-up to rest from your run or enjoy a drink. The seating area outside is comfortable for a quick coffee or breakfast. The outdoor deck faces the lake and you can see all kinds of wildlife from it. The place is pet friendly, has clean restrooms, and has hot and cold drinks- including a delicious rosé cider. Enjoy the visit.

Nice coffee shop located right on the bike and bike trail, inside the Walter Creek Boathouse. No indoor seating, but they have a few tables outside. Some are shaded. It’s a nice stop while hiking or after renting a kayak. I usually take one of their iced drinks and always enjoyed them.

DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE HYPE. Just a simple coffee shop and the views were not that great. Basically views are blocked with trees around.. if you’re going to kayak or bike this could be a pit stop but I don’t recommend exclusively going to this place as parking is $15 for 2hrs not worth it

I've been riding my bike past this place for months and decided to give it a try. It is super legit. My latte was on point. And the staff, and bagel, were great too. And was able to sit on the deck and work comfortably for a good long while. As for the "vibe" I'll let the photo speak for itself.

Best porch to see the water and drink a cold beer/Prosecco. Great food and clean patio even during social distancing times. Muffins, bagels, smoothies, avocado toast too.

Alta’s café is a perfect coffee meet-up spot with spectacular views of lady bird lake in downtown Austin. The staff is very friendly and the menu selections are all excellent complements to a hot cuppa coffee while sitting outdoors at one of the high-top or picnic tables on the deck. There are also a number of nearby walking, jogging and biking paths and easy access to river kayaking rentals.

Great terrace cafe right by the Lady Bird. Tranquil, clean, nice coffee, okay pastries. Next to the rowing club and kayak rentals.

Healthy amount of drink options with a great chai latte to fall back on. Mask requirement makes it hard for those coming off the trails to stop in given they may not have a mask on them unfortunately. Great scenery and views for traveling remoters
