Alvarado Street Brewery Taproom

Stopped in at the Taproom and was really impressed from the moment I walked in. The place has a clean, modern vibe with a touch of classic architecture — the entrance alone is stunning. Inside, the atmosphere is warm, lively, and perfect for relaxing after a long day. I ordered a beer and it came out ice cold, served perfectly with a lime. Sometimes it’s the small details that make the experience, and they nailed it. A special shoutout to Taylor, who provided amazing customer service from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and on point — she really made the visit even better. With the design, lighting, and open layout, this is definitely a great spot to grab a drink, enjoy good company, and chill in a really nice environment. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended. 🍺✨

Alvarado on Main is an absolute gem in the heart of Salinas, California! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the unique charm of this fully remodeled restaurant, which was once a bank. The historic architecture has been beautifully preserved, blending seamlessly with modern touches to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was good, and the portions were incredibly generous for the price. Every dish we tried was clearly made with care. The menu offers something for everyone, and the quality is good as well. What truly made our experience memorable, though, was the staff. The team was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great time. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I opened a tab through their new ordering system. We kept receiving wrong items the whole night! Multiple people kept moving from our area since we were seated near the front door, we were with another couple as well but they had their own tab open. I ordered 2 rounds of BEER for my husband and I so when I pulled up the link in my text messages it was someone else’s order it was all LIQUOR drinks. So I went up to the bar area to ask a server to look up my correct order and he did. BUT he did not CANCEL the previous order that was opened under my debit card so I paid for my own order AND got charged for someone’s else’s tab as well, including an “unclosed tab” fee because somehow my payment information was still attached to the tab I originally opened. My husband came over and paid for the correct tab with his debit card. So my payment information was still there even though I had asked the server to cancel that order due to it being incorrect? I filed a claim with my bank and they’re refusing to refund me due to “proof” but there’s two charges instead of 1!! That’s not okay! Do better with your system. I will probably never come back here again. I’m a usual at the warehouse though and I’ve never had issues there!

There were three of us and we actually ate for under $75. The salads were made with dark greens that were not limp from thaw and the burgers were not soggy from over oiled patties! The fries were crisp and soft on the inside perfect for dipping in ranch or ketchup! My 6 year old grandson eats full size plates and the kids burger with salad was satisfying enough that he asked for a to go box for his “left over” salad! I loved walking in to this sophisticated old bank building and being served a burger! We were casually dressed but felt completely comfortable among the suits other well dressed “after-workers”! The diverse and kid friendly atmosphere was a great and affordable “kitchen free” meal to end a hectic day.

Angelic was our server. She was great in checking up on us and provided great hospitality. She made sure our orders was right and gave us time to enjoy the place, we were there for a couple of hours. Food was great and the fuego smashburger is a great choice, if you like a little spice. The churros are amazing and the sauces that come with it are great. The wings were pretty good too. She did an amazing job especially since she was the only one managing the bar and tables till about 3pm. Overall a really great place and highly recommend.

Angelic was awesome and very attentive. The food and drinks were top notch. However, I would be more inclined to leave a more expansive review if the restaurant was connected to my Hilton Honors or Visa Rewards program. I would frequent the establishment incessantly, rack up points, and leave awesome reviews regularly.

If you are looking for a specific beer to-go, make sure to call ahead and see if they have it in stock! I'm a huge sour ale/beer fan, and Alvarado street brewery makes some of my favorite sours. I had booked a staycation in Monterey down the street from their main restaurant but they only had Howzit on tap (which... I can find anywhere now, like Whole Foods). So in hopes of more sours, I saw online that they had more sours available at their Salinas location and did a detour on my way home to that restaurant. While they did have all 4 sours on tap... they only had Howzit cans available to go, which was disappointing! If I had thought to call ahead, I might stopped at Carmel instead. I did try the Radler which was tasty. Service was quick and friendly, but food was ok in my opinion. I got the street corn salad (felt like it was missing a bit of oomf, like maybe a zing of lime) and the fuego smashburger (a little too greasy for me). Parking was easy on a random Wednesday early afternoon. If it were more convenient for me, I would definitely come to try more of the menu as I may have gotten the wrong items.

What a beautiful location! An old bank building from the 1920's restored with care. We arrived late on a Thursday night with plenty of seating, no wait. The bar was hopping. The service was a smidge slow but the staff were wonderful with great recommendations for food and beverage. We tried the garlic cheese bread- like a thin-crust cheese pizza with chunks of roasted garlic. Pretty tasty, but a lot. The cauliflower appetizer was a must! So tasty. Little broccoli as well. Yum. I ordered the street corn salad and it was like a spicy Caesar... also delicious. Hubby got the spicy chicken sandwich. It was molten hot (lol) but flavorful and not too spicy. Fries were good too. Beer was average, nothing to write home about. I liked the DIPA hazy, 5000 something I think. We would return for sure!

What a dinner! Food is sooooooo delicious, service is good, price is very affordable. 7 of us ordered a lot of food and we like them all! They have a $10 deal for 6 wings and a beer. If you're looking for a place to go to after work for a drink (or two) & some food, Alvarado is a good option. I've been here a few times with coworkers over the years and it's a chill place. They even have some pick up option available for lunch. Nice interior, big location, but even then it can get packed so beware of a potential wait time. Aside from some good beer their menu options don't disappoint and they have some typical bar food, slightly elevated. A lot of good shareable food options. Servers have always been nice and helpful.

Good beer, and fantastic wings fried to perfection with a unique twist on peri perI sauce. Isaiah was super helpful despite it being a crazy farmers market weekend happening out the front door. Beer was cold and food was quick!

I really love this place. The beer is great, the food is solid, and the atmosphere is fun. It's one of my favorite spots to hang out. The only downside is that some of the bartenders don't give the same level of service to everyone. A few times I've felt ignored while others were helped right away, and I even had to place an order online just to get served. It would be nice if the service was more consistent, because everything else about this place is awesome

Came in with a group of about 14 and ISAIAH had us set up and served real quick. ISAIAH was on it. Great environment, food and beer was great.

The food is pretty good but the service has been poor on multiple occasions even after the rebranding. The servers forget about you and we constantly had to ask other servers for the check, drinks, etc. on days they weren't super busy. We've also ordered takeout on separate occasions and they didn't even include salad dressing with the salad both times. Monterey Alvarado is so much better.

Came to Alvarado with my cousins and their kids and there were six of us. Isaiah was our server and really accommodating and provided exceptional service. The burgers, tacos, and pretzel bites were delicious. Also, highly recommend the aperol spritz, the golden hour, and the west coaster beer.

Awesome service. Awesome beer and food. Isaiah was a great server. 20+ group and the food came out quick and the beer came out quicker. Will be back soon
