Alvarado on Main is an absolute gem in the heart of Salinas, California! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the unique charm of this fully remodeled restaurant, which was once a bank. The historic architecture has been beautifully preserved, blending seamlessly with modern touches to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was good, and the portions were incredibly generous for the price. Every dish we tried was clearly made with care. The menu offers something for everyone, and the quality is good as well. What truly made our experience memorable, though, was the staff. The team was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great time. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Thank you for the attentive and very friendly service from Angelic A. while we visited for lunch earlier this month. She patiently explained the gluten-free options. The Art Deco interior (a former bank lobby), with its soaring ceilings, is beautiful. Well situated at the center of town with easy, on-street parking. We enjoyed our respective menu options.

Ive been here a couple times. The place is spacious. The decor and interior design is aesthetically pleasing, reminiscent of early 1900s style. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Our server Isaiah is top-notch. He was talkative, friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were also pretty good.

Their pizza is not as good as it was when I wrote this review. Veronica is an amazing server and you'll be lucky to have her. Amazing service and personality! Beautiful art deco style bar and eatery with vegetarian options. My husband and I always enjoyed going to the Monterey location and we were ecstatic to find out that the establishment had expanded to Downtown Salinas (a little closer to home for us than Monterey). The cauliflower wings were Asian infusion which we haven't experienced before but glad we did! I had the butternut squash tacos that came with 3 salsas and each one was delicious. My husband ordered the Valley pizza which paired wonderfully with their nonalcoholic beer I ordered. A variety of beer on tap including SOURS which are my hubby's favorite style. I do suggest making a reservation because they're new and quite popular so you may wait a while if you don't have one.

I thought this was Alvarado Street Brewery.I guess they just call it Alvarado on Main, but it is the same place. Dew Drops IPA stopped me dead in my tracks with its superb Dank Hoppy Dispensary taste ( if you know what I mean) Just what my taste buds have been craving. The close second is the Single Cone ( you can also get a flight and choose as many beers that you would like to sample ) Just thought I’d bust out with those first two 5 star ratings about their beer. We did also order food, which was pretty good as well. The grilled artichoke tacos were awesome, the Al Pastor tacos were also a close second and we shared the Caesar Salad as an appetizer. Lots of parking in the back; we’ve never been to Salinas before, but this area of Old Town looked like it would be cool to walk around. We were just passing through for the day so we didn’t get to explore. Go for the brew but especially the “Dew”! Cheers!

I visit Alvarado pretty frequently since they’ve opened in Salinas and my experience has always been great. Their wagyu smash burger is always delicious and so is their old town pizza. I recently went and tried their new blackberry burrata salad and their soy ginger wings and they were both very delicious! My favorite go to drink is besitos but I believe it is no longer on the menu but their michelada and their lemon drops are also chefs kiss. The service is pretty good. I recently went and my drink was made pretty strong and wasn’t very enjoyable but a kind bartender named Erica went ahead and remade it for me with no problem and it was really good! She had great customer service even on a busy Friday night. It’s the pink drink in the photo, I believe they call it hibis-kiss. It’s safe to say it’ll be my new go to.

You can clear see that a lot of thought and care went into making this place both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The food was great, the ambiance was great, the staff made great food and drink recommendations and the drinks were 10/10! The cocktails here are really good! We didn’t have a reservation and they told us it was a 30 minute wait but we were actually seated in 10 minutes which we greatly appreciated! Would recommend the crispy cauliflower as a starter. On the sweeter side but my entire group really enjoyed it!

What a beautiful location! An old bank building from the 1920's restored with care. We arrived late on a Thursday night with plenty of seating, no wait. The bar was hopping. The service was a smidge slow but the staff were wonderful with great recommendations for food and beverage. We tried the garlic cheese bread- like a thin-crust cheese pizza with chunks of roasted garlic. Pretty tasty, but a lot. The cauliflower appetizer was a must! So tasty. Little broccoli as well. Yum. I ordered the street corn salad and it was like a spicy Caesar... also delicious. Hubby got the spicy chicken sandwich. It was molten hot (lol) but flavorful and not too spicy. Fries were good too. Beer was average, nothing to write home about. I liked the DIPA hazy, 5000 something I think. We would return for sure!

What a dinner! Food is sooooooo delicious, service is good, price is very affordable. 7 of us ordered a lot of food and we like them all! They have a $10 deal for 6 wings and a beer. I really love this place. The beer is great, the food is solid, and the atmosphere is fun. It's one of my favorite spots to hang out. The only downside is that some of the bartenders don't give the same level of service to everyone. A few times I've felt ignored while others were helped right away, and I even had to place an order online just to get served. It would be nice if the service was more consistent, because everything else about this place is awesome

The food is pretty good but the service has been poor on multiple occasions even after the rebranding. The servers forget about you and we constantly had to ask other servers for the check, drinks, etc. on days they weren't super busy. We've also ordered takeout on separate occasions and they didn't even include salad dressing with the salad both times. Monterey Alvarado is so much better.

Came in with a group of about 14 and ISAIAH had us set up and served real quick. ISAIAH was on it. Great environment, food and beer was great.

Great food and service. Valerie made great recommendations for our meal. And of course the beer is always outstanding. Just wishing they would bring back Milkshake Apocalypse!
