Alzer's Barbeque

One of the few halal Texan BBQ spots in the area. We did takeout, so not sure about the service. Did the medium family order: 4 pounds of meat, 3 large sides. We tried brisket, beef ribs, and beef sausage. Sides were potato salad, creamed corn, and mac and cheese. Came with complimentary bread, pickles, and onions. The price was a hefty $140, but between 6 people, it came to about $23 per person, so I think that's pretty fair for Texan BBQ. Of the 3 meats, beef sausage was my fav, it had jalapenos in it and had quite the kick! The beef ribs, while not winning any awards, were good as well. My only criticism is that it amounted to 3 beef ribs, so we had to split each rib between 2 people. The brisket was supposed to be a mix of moist and lean with some burnt ends, but it leaned mostly lean. I would’ve liked more of the juicy cuts, and I didn’t see any real burnt ends. It was decent, but I’ve had better. For my fam who only eats halal meat and hasn’t had other Texan BBQ, they loved each and every piece of meat, so overall it was a great success. Everything was seasoned really well, and nothing was dried out. The sides were all really impressive. Everyone loved the creamed corn and potato salad. The mac and cheese here was better than at some other, more well known BBQ joints in the Austin area. I wish I’d read some of these reviews prior to ordering, I would have tried some of the lamb items that seem to have some fans. That’ll be for next time. Even if you’re not looking specifically for halal options, I think it holds its own among other BBQ joints in the greater Austin area in this tier.

Great halal true Texas style BBQ. Tried Smoked Chicken and Beef Brisket. Both were awesome. Banana cheesecake and carrot cake were also excellent. Anthony, Omar and all other staff are very welcoming. I requested them to start a Frequent Customer program for folks like me who will be there at least couple of times every week 😀

Homey family owned barbecue joint located in a strip mall off the main road. Overall, the barbecue here wasn’t as smoky compared to similar Texas barbecue places. However, the cook on each meat rendered them tender, juicy, and fall off the bone. I ordered the brisket, lamb chops, lamb sausage, beef ribs, half chicken, creamed corn, green beans, carrot cake, and banana cheesecake. Beef ribs, half chicken, brisket- Nothing to write home about. All perfectly cooked but lacking smokiness and overall flavor, could have used more salt and pepper general. I tried the sauce provided but it was overly sweet for my taste. The lamb chops and sausage were the stars of the show. The lamb chops were rich and succulent. The sausage was snappy and savory, not the typical peppery bite. Not too gamey also more tender than its beef counterpart. If you love lamb, order these items. The creamed corn and green beans side dishes also surprised me. Both perfectly executed for what they were. The green beans were not a mushy mess, stewed with onions and black pepper for extra umami. Lastly, the carrot cake gets an honorable mention. Not what you usually expect from a barbecue place but it rounded out the meal. Moist yet fluffy with the right carrot to cake to pecan to cream cheese frosting ratio for every bite. Cake itself was not that sweet and the cream cheese frosting provided a balance of sweet and tang to the cake. Banana cheesecake was average, a light cheesecake not overly sweet as well. Is this the best barbecue I’ve ever had? No. The typical barbecue items get a three star solely because of the cook, not taste. But the lamb and the sides and the dessert, the most unassuming dishes changed my mind. I would come back for just those items alone.

Huge BBQ snob here and I can honestly say this is some of the best brisket and beef rib I have ever had. Brisket was super tender and seasoned perfectly. I used just a little BBQ sauce to not drown out the smokey flavor of the brisket. The beef rib was just as tender and perfectly seasoned. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back.

Guy at the register recommended the brisket mac bowl 10/10 loved it. Baked beans are also a solid 9/10 really liked how sweet it was. Jalapeño sausage was a 6/10 for me I would buy it again but nothing special. Loses a point for not having cheddar jalapeño sausage.

The food portions compared to other BBQ places are smaller for the price. They don’t do combo plates as other places do, specific selection. Even if you look at my profile, I have been to other BBQ places with better prices, no restrictions on plates, and bigger portions. The regular sausage is probably the worst. It was cold when served. I will say though that their brisket and cream corn are top notch. They serve quail, which you usually don’t see at other BBQ places, not bad. Overall, it is okay. Though, I personally prefer other places. In addition, they didn’t have a diaper station in either bathroom.

The only halal brisket place I’m aware of in Austin. Had the 1/2 lb brisket with Mac/Cheese and Cole Slaw. Excellent. Sauce was good too Just as good, is the Lamb sausage with creamed corn - highly recommended

The food was amazing along with very polite service. The cream corn was particularly good and I would recommend it to anyone who comes here. It was also very clean.

Love this halal bbq place. Every time I come to Austin this is a must for me. Tried 2lbs of brisket... 2lbs of beef ribs -meaty & not fatty. 2lbs of lamb chops-medium well 1/2 lb of jalapeño beef sausage 1/2 lb of jalapeño lamb sausage 1 whole chicken cooked well 1 order of quail.

First time trying this place since we were just visiting Austin. Tried a bunch of things on the menu including the ribs, quail, rack of lamb. corn, green beans and potatoes. Pretty much everything was delicious especially the green beans! There was like some kind of lemon flavor to it which really made a difference to boring old green beans. I wasn't too impressed with the quail as I felt it was a little over-done but everything else was oh so satisfying. Will definitely be back! Maybe next time I'll try the chicken. Oh and the place is fully halal too, owners are Jordanian. Great service and very friendly folks who really care about making sure their customers are happy. I always like to support local businesses!

Brisket and Sausage has been amazing. Please is little far for me but worth the drive.

My daughter brought me here for Father's Day and we had a very enjoyable time each of our sides were wonderful and the lamb sausage with jalapeno cheese was great as was the brisket. Everything was freshly made and we'll seasoned... the servers were polite and helpful even gave us a recommendation on which Park had covered basketball nearby.

Alzers is the tastiest bbq I've had! I have used them 3 times since April for my get togethers and they are always a hit! They pack everything so neat and very organized! We highly recommend Alzers. We love it!

Another great experience eating Alzer's BBQ. This time we placed a pick up order online. It was very easy even though the menu is pretty extensive. I love the way they have packages of meats and sides. You can order and feed a small family or a larger group. Their level of customer service also has captured my attention when you are in the restaurant eating and you need to take some thing home to finish or as in our case this evening, you order a complete meal to go --the way they package it is above and beyond. They not only use containers for the sides, but they over wrapped them with saran wrap to ensure there is no leakage. I truly appreciate this -as I can't really say how many times we've picked up a go order at restaurants in general where something has leaked out by the time we've gotten home. We always order a variety of meat here because it's so tender and delicious. Tonight we had beef, ribs, beef, brisket, and lamb sausage. I will say that without a doubt it was the most tender brisket I've ever eaten.....EVER! I really enjoyed the lamb sausage as it's quite unique and has what I consider a bit of a lame aftertaste, which I enjoyed. My husband loves their beef ribs. We ordered green beans, potato salad, and cream corner as our sides. They are all prepared very nicely in our everything inside should be to their amazing meat . We've always had positive interactions with their team. It's not a long drive from Leander to Cedar Park but we both agree that we would drive even further to enjoy this barbecue, so we're quite happy to have it close by. As you enter Cedar Park on 183 from the south just turn left on Cypress Creek Rd and you can't miss it. We've never had a problem with the parking either. There is a shared designated parking lot for that little strip mall. We encourage you to give it a try!!

I visited this location on a Wednesday at lunch with my work team. It was very clean. The setup is counter service style. When we arrived there was a large group in front of our large group, so it took a bit to get thru the line, This restaurant offers both halal and non-halal meats, but no pork. I ordered the beef rib and side of green beans. The food came out very quickly and there was white bread, onions, pickles, and jalapeños available.

Alzer's BBQ impressed me with their halal moist brisket. Tender, flavorful, and a delightful twist on traditional BBQ. Friendly staff and a warm ambiance made the experience even better. Highly recommended!

I have been hearing about Alzer's for a few years now, but had not gotten a chance to try. A few months ago, we finally went in. They have items on the menu that most BBQ places don't. Quail? Lamb chops? My family dove in face first. I'm not big on lamb, but theirs is amazing! I prefer brisket, and theirs in so moist and flavorful, it really doesn't need sauce. One evening's order will feed us at least twice. Also, if you order online and they run out of something they call so you can make a different choice. I've ordered online other places and walk in expecting my full order only to find out then that they were out of something. This place has such great food and the family is just wonderful! I almost don't want to tell people and keep it a secret, then I end up wanting to tell people to watch someone local do well. I haven't been to any other BBQ places around town in months.

The bbq is not worth the price. The food is good but man, I thought wife almost ordered double the food due to the price. I was hoping it was worth it but it fell short.

Family owned, great customer service. Not too busy. We saw a lot of people get take out. Good brisket, and they have quail on the menu! Sausage was ok. For us, the best part was the turkey! So good. And the sides were slightly cold but very good- we tried the Mac and Cheese, slaw, and corn. Our favorite was the corn

Best BBQ hands down! Went with a large group ordered the family meal with brisket, chicken, beef ribs beef and lamb sausages, Mac n cheese, creamed corn, coleslaw, potatoes salad. Everything was absolutely delicious the stars were definitely the brisket and the creamed corn. The staff was absolutely fantastic they were so accommodating to our large group offered food suggestions and helped us pack up our leftovers to go. Definitely check them out!

Great BBQ - we had brisket and the lamb and jalapeño sausage. Don't skip the cream corn! We will be back!

The food here is really good. Great smoke flavor in the meats. The lamb was juicy and tender. The lamb sausage had a very good texture and flavor. The quail was tasty too. If you're in the area, please make an effort to stop in and enjoy some really tasty bbq.

Best bbq I ever had in my life! A friend and me visited Austin for work and were looking for a Halal bbq place. This place exceeded all expectations. Tried the brisket, ribs and lamb chops. Meat was tender, smoky. No sauce required. The sides are also delicious. Our fav was the creamy corn. The service was polite and the kind lady answered all our questions and provided very helpful recommendations. The ambiance is quite casual and spacious. Felt very comfortable.

We come to Austin often, always looking for good bbq but franklins is always too busy and ironworks was closed, this was recommended as halal bbq and I'm soooo glad we came. Absolutely delicious, not sure about pricing (thought it was expensive but idk the standard) the service was very very good, the ribs were decent but the brisket was delicious, soooo soft and the perfect amount of fat and meat. Also the ribs?? They didn't have a desi or American flavor but I was surprised at how delicious and flavorful they were without "masala". Would highly recommend 10/10 would go again, wish they would open one in dallas :(

There are a few BBQ restaurants in Cedar Park.....forget them. This BBQ is out of this world!!!! Went there twice this week while visiting my mom and we were so happy we did!!!!! Chopped brisket sandwich is incredible!!! Sides were delicious! Nothing skimpy with the servings either! Don't walk.....run to this restaurant and enjoy their food!!!!!

This is a great little spot for some good bbq! We have been there several times and each time the food is consistently good. The guys that run the place are really friendly and welcoming. The quail in particular are outstanding AND reasonably priced. The restaurant is spotless. Go and get some!

One of the best bbq joints this side of town. You don't have to play the "2-hr line" game, or the "serve till we run out" game. No frills. Great food. Dont forget to try their lamb chops. It will give you a new perspective on texas bbq. Always consistent and great tasting.

Great barbecue. Comparable to the Top10 list in Texas Monthly. Really good. The brisket was moist tender and not too fat. The turkey and chicken were fantastic.

Good place for halal Texan BBQ. We had brisket, ribs and quail, and everything was nicely marinated/smoked. The meat in general was tender - the kind that just melts in your mouth. I personally liked ribs the best as they were tender and flavorful. You also gotta love their special Alzer's sauce. It's nice that they're a small family owned business, and we did meet one of the owners when we were there. Very friendly and accommodating!

Wow! We were regulars when it was just the trailer and went one time when it first became a brick and mortar. I guess we just weren't in the mood for smoked meat for quite a while. Today the meats we SO GOOD! We tried the lean brisket, moist brisket, turkey & lamb sausage and everything was spot on. The Mac and cheese was great but the coleslaw was too crunchy and cold for me.

Chopped brisket was excellent. Right amount of smoke and seasoning. Also had a piece of the jalapeno sausage, was one of the best I've had. Sliced brisket was moist and fork tender with a good balanced flavor, but not enough smoke for my taste. 9/10 would eat here again when in CP Texas.

One of my favorite BBQ spots! No offense to other places, but I am not one for waiting 2 hours in line for Q. There are incredible bbq spots in Austin without a ridiculous line and Alzer's is one of them! I ordered a half rack of lamb and a beef rib which were both amazing. Alzer's is perfected, textbook execution in both the cook and prep of their meats - which results in fall off the bone meat that's tender but not mushy, and wonderful flavors coming through in the form of a clean smoke and a peppery bark. You almost get a perfect bite every time. Sauce was pretty much optional at this point (I personally enjoy letting the meat speak for itself with minimal sauce). Alzer's is definitely a gem that's hidden away from the tourist traps, a great place to have some top notch BBQ without the drama.

We liked this place and it's about what you'd expect. Staff is friendly, everything is good and prices are reasonable. There is lots of competition in this area, but I would say as far a strictly BBQ quality, this place is one of the best. I haven't had everything in the menu just the green beans, beans( really awesome), mac n cheese, brisket and sausage. To me, those a bbq staples. Come on in, you will be happy.

This is the best BBQ in Austin and goes head to head with Franklin's (without the wait) in my opinion. The brisket falls apart when you pick it up and melts in your mouth. The seasoning they use is amazing. Second favorite is the beef ribs. Best ribs in TX. The sides are all great as well, potato salad and cream corn are my go-to's. But I come here for the MEAT! Family owned; everyone here is super nice and all they want is for you to have a great experience. do yourself a favor TRY THEM!!!

The family and the front line stars are amazing - they wanna know you - they want your experience to be stellar! Lots of BBQ places in the Austin metroplex Alzer's is top notch - I'm there weekly! Very unique BBQ. No pork on the menu. Instead they have lamb, beef, turkey, and quail. my family of 4 and I decided to give this place a try today. We loved the food. Brisket was awesome. Some of the best bbq beans I have had, and the beef rib was amazing. The star was the lamb jalapeño sausage. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very comfortable. The service was very patient and friendly. My 2 year old daughter loved the Mac and cheese and beans. My 7 year old loved the beef rib and brisket. Very family friendly.

Great good! We tried a little of everything and it was all fantastic. Our favorites were the lamb ribs followed by the lamb sausage, beef brisket and beef ribs. We got the potato salad and bbq beans which both had a nice sweet flavor to them.

Food is always great and the staff make great conversation every time! We come every time we're in Austin!

You order at the counter here and then wait for your name to get called. They were getting things made pretty quick. We ordered turkey, brisket, beans, creamed corn and Mac and cheese. I'm a huge fan of BBQ sides and theirs were really good. The Mac and cheese is very creamy and smooth. The beans were flavorful. My sister didn't like the onions in them because it gave a crunch but I didn't mind them at all. The creamed corn was sweet and similar to one of my other favorites from a competitor. The brisket wasn't too fatty. The turkey was a little peppery but even my kids would eat it.

Highly recommend Alzer's for their food and service. I was looking for a Texas BBQ experience with good halal options. Alzer's provide you all of that. Met one of the business owner Omar who was helpful and hospitable. Can't wait to come back.

Not giving five stars as I only tried the Turkey. New location .. clean and friendly. Ordered a single turkey sandwich with beans. The turkey was moist and packed tons of flavor. The bbq was lacking however. It was almost directly from the sweet baby rays since bottle. I even poured some and put them side by side. Same viscosity, flavor. I don't mind cause that shit is good lol. The beans were fair as well. I'll definitely go pack. I want to try the game hens and lamb. This place is basically a halal bbq spot and I'm pumped. Thanks for eating me me today, I'll see you next time.

Some of the best bbq I have had. Moist brisket melts in your mouth. Lamb chops and Lamb sausage is amazing.. All the sides are amazing as well.. Great service and atmosphere.. My New bbq go to place.. If your looking for amazing bbq Alzers is your place no questions.. Thank yall! Roll Tide!

I decided to try one more time today after watching the pitmasters while sitting in the line at CVS. I picked up a 1/2lb of moist to go. It was sliced pretty thick but perfectly for the doneness. Bark, ring, flavor, smokeyness, tug, chew all really good. I really enjoyed this serving. I haven't really liked Alzer's in the past but based on this I'll be giving them another try soon. I'll give them five stars if I can find two sides that agree with me.

This was okay barbecue. The brisket was hot, but not very smoky. Really, not much flavor. The staff was friendly. It's a typical barbecue restaurant. They had baseball games playing and lots of room.

I went here for the first time few weeks ago with my sister. we got a chopped brisket sandwich with potato salad and it was finger licking good lol. They got some halal options as well which is pretty awesome! Def coming back again!

1/19/20: Alzer's continues to be the best BBQ in Cedar Park. They are not a brick and mortar. They consist of 3 trailers in the parking lot of the Shell station. They brisket has a perfect smoke flavor. Their bbq sauce is a little sweet and an excellent compliment to the smoke barbecue they serve. I often get the sausage sandwich. Good flavor and nice consistency. Sausage is not over ground like so many places make or buy. If you have not given Alzer's a try because they are just trailers in a parking lot, you are missing out. The are definitely on my 'Keepers List'. 4/26/20: Alzer's is putting out excellent bbq with great customer service. Everyone there is also super nice. They do have new hours of operation Fri-Sat 11am-8pm and Sunday 11am-7pm...CLOSED Monday-Thursday.

Some of the best bbq I ever had. The best beef ribs and brisket. Meat is juicy and fresh no matter what time you show up. Friendly staff and clean spot. This is now my goto bbq spot!
