Seven of the Best Hotel Bars in Paris

"Amastan Paris may be a luxury hotel, but it leaves the large-scale pomp and grandeur to the city’s established palace hotels, opting instead for an upscale residential vibe. That modus operandi extends to Amouk, the hotel's cocktail lounge that spills out into an insulated interior garden just a street or two away from the Champs-Élysées." - The MICHELIN Guide

"The fairly recently opened Amastan is the first flagship for a new luxury hotel group by the same name. Located at the upscale cross section of Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, the hotel offers a surprisingly secluded getaway from the streets below, especially if you book a room with a furnished balcony overlooking the leafy garden. The magic here is in the thoughtful, often exquisite design details, like blue herringbone parquet walls and a two-story bookshelf packed with design titles and curios. Plus, the adjacent Pop-In space features art, design, and fashion collaborations curated by the great minds at Purple and London-based branding studio Campbell-Rey. "

Amastan

"How did it strike you on arrival?Welcome to your Parisian pied-à-terre—in the heart of one of the city’s toniest neighborhoods, no less. The brainchild of young entrepreneur/hotelier Zied Sanhaji, who named this flagship for a story written about his family nearly a millennium ago, Amastan takes the “lifestyle hotel” trend to heart, beginning with warm, retro-chic spaces that invite you to feel at home. Walls of book-filled shelves, chocolate-colored banquettes, a charming patio, and a sleek, blue-tiled bar are just some of the places in which to linger. Nice. What’s the crowd like? With its location a few blocks from the Champs-Elsyées, close to top city sites and surrounded by the upscale boutiques and galleries of the 8th Arrondissement, the hotel attracts young sophisticates and low-key-chic international travelers. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The 24 rooms are minimalist without being cold, stocked with useful touches, and minus any frills. The four categories—Classic, Superior, Deluxe, and Premier—vary in size, but each features a palette of dark blues, warm woods, and polished brass, and furnishings custom-made to suit the spaces. Some have small private balconies, while all come with complimentary bottled water, Nespresso machines, Bang & Olufsen bluetooth speakers, and a desk. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?Mattresses from French brand Treca and soft white sheets make for a solid night's sleep. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The contemporary, all-white bathrooms are small but functional, with sinks inspired by old-fashioned radios (the knobs look like tuning dials), and products from Australian line Ena. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi is complimentary, as is daily breakfast. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.During the day, the bright bar is a breezy spot to enjoy coffee and fresh juices while you soak up the free Wi-Fi; at night, it becomes Anouk, a cocktail bar serving shareable plates and rare spirits. Venture through the French doors to reach the garden filled with thirty species of plants, framed by jasmine-covered walls, and dotted with giant rocks that double as seating. A quiet haven in the city, the garden is an idyllic spot for breakfast, a coffee meeting, or an evening drink. Set next to the hotel, Pop-In is a flexible space for events and pop-ups from a variety of international indie brands and artists. Bottom line: worth it, and why? With chic spaces and vibrant programming, Amastan makes you feel at home in one of the city's poshest neighborhoods." - Sandra Ramani

I booked 8 rooms at this property for some clients, and the team was well-prepared! The staff was great, both the man and woman who I worked with at the front desk, and the bartender (I did not get his name). All really lovely. The rooms were aesthetically basic, but nice. Basic meaning no art on the walls, no luggage rack, but I found the bed to be one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in... There are not amenities such a spa, gym or standard restaurant (but the bar serves some food). If you're ok with this and the size of the hotel being very small, great, because it's ultimately a convenient, comfortable place to sleep!

Staff and rooms were really great. Cool watch theme to hotel. Hotel is quick walk to a number of restaurants but a bit further walk to some of the sites. All still walkable but a bit further. Area felt very safe.

Great hotel!! A little small but just perfect, so clean and if there's one thing I love about hotels, it's that they're modern and "clean" to the eye. The staff is very helpful and the location is great, right on the Champs Elysees. Just perfect, a great experience from the hotel.

Very elegant and cozy hotel. The staff is the friendliest I have ever seen. The room is very comfortable, with quality bedding and soft towels. The location is excellent. They are very attentive to details and that makes all the difference. I strongly recommend this place.

Cool boutique hotel in a great location for walking to the big Paris attractions. Front desk staff were very friendly, welcoming and eager to share tips for getting around Paris. A few evenings we enjoyed a drink in their very stylish lobby.

Don’t stay here! If you don’t want to ruin your Paris trip, don’t stay here. This hotel is extremely below average. Very very dirty! Hair on the bed, towels that were stained, a bug on the headboard. Absolutely disgusting. I have traveled to 35 countries, stayed at numerous hotels all over the world and this hotel was the worst hotel I’ve ever been to!! And I don’t mean just because it wasn’t nice, but because it was sooo dirty that I couldn’t even sleep in this room at night. Avoid this place. I really don’t know why it has 4.6 rating, they must be paying people to write fake reviews. —- In reply to your response below: The reservation was under my boyfriend’s name, and ofcourse I stayed at your hotel, we stayed here for two nights, November 15-November 17th. We already raised our concerns twice to the staff at the hotel! And actually I have provided more photos for you to see that the photos ARE from your hotel.

The chic and charm of Paris rediscovered in a discreet, comfortable, and warm hotel. The furniture, bed, and materials used make it a hotel that rivals nearby 5-star establishments. The location is ideal for both business and exploring the beautiful neighborhoods of the capital. The service, including a very good breakfast, is personalized. The cherry on top: a bar with a charming garden, perfect for spending a quiet afternoon or evening. I highly recommend it!

Great hotel, great location in the centre of Paris only a few minutes walk from the Champs Elysées, Metro, a short walk only from Place du Concorde, Louvre, Eiffel Tower. Great welcome from the team at the hotel who kindly helped in arranging some requested extras before our visit. All in all the perfect hotel for Paris. Thank you to all the team!
