The process itself was fast, but sadly the customer service was awful. I was so happy to go there and feel like a small part of me was home, but turned out to be one of the most uncomfortable time of my life. They looked at me like I was from another planet, simply because I wasn’t sure which building to go to, and the lady didn’t tell me. I felt extremely disrespected and uneasy. I was prepared and had all my paperwork ready, and whoever took them laughed at my face because I had a bill as a proof of address (they just needed my Drivers license which I provided already). She highlighted my address on the bill and said « what is THAT? I can barely ready anything, I don’t need that ». Couldn’t walk out of it fast enough. I’m so sad and disappointed of these people’s attitude. Also, I did not need to receive a passive aggressive comment saying that « hopefully my daughter (11) will speak French next time she comes to the French embassy »

Worst experience ever! We asked for a visa short stay(3months) from Atlanta to Paris for my mum going to see her daughter who's French citizen. They didn't see each other for 13 years! They gave a visa for 30 days!!! So we needed to change the ticket plane that we already bought, therefore paying more money! Why you guys are so mean? My mum is 75! I'm so upset! Above of that, the consulate in Atlanta should hire people who can speak French, at least! It's a shame! Worst experience ever! Not recommended at All!

Health measures are respected. They receive only by appointment. Nice Cafe/restaurant

Terrible phone communication - email works best if you include your application number along with the complaint. I got my Visa approved, luckily. I had my appointment on the 10th and received my passport back on the 28th. I heard horror stories on here and started panicking but fortunately I fared better. It helps to have people in France to vouch for you. I'm also a recent graduate, so while student visas get priority, it was close to their expedited time. Make sure to have eveything you need at the initial appointment. They'll reach out if they need any more information, but best be fully prepared the first time so to avoid the added time.

Always enjoy the events at the French Embassy. The food, wine, and service are always excellent. They usually have interesting music, and it's typically a fun crowd.

It’s been eight weeks since my partner applied for his visa and still nothing. Trying to contact the consulate is insane, automated replies that never follow up. His program is rapidly approaching and we’ve already had to cancel our flight once. This delay is an extremely expensive set back. All we have been hoping for is some kind of information about what’s going on so we can plan accordingly, but they are unable to give any answers. If he doesn’t receive his visa/passport in two weeks, he will have to cancel a once in a lifetime opportunity in his program and we will have lost thousands of dollars.

Worst experience one could ever have. We submitted our visa application 5 weeks before our travel, no sign of visa or way of contacting the embassy. We requested for our passport back and even that took more than one week. Worst customer service or regard for anyone’s time. Highly highly not recommend going through them!

I am a US citizen. I accompanied my Chinese wife because she is a Chinese citizen and her English is fair at best. This was my first experience with the Shengen visa process. After reading the negative reviews I was very apprehensive about what I might experience. I have been to France many times and know that sometimes French people can be rude. Our appointment was for 12 noon, just about the end of the day for them. Their last appointment was at 12:20. We took a ticket when we entered. There were about 5 people ahead of us on the ticket bulletin display. Because of the negative reviews I was very attentive to how the consulate officers dealt with the applicants. Honestly, have never hear anyone use the words “please” and “thank you” more than the French interviewing officer s. When it was our turn the older gentleman we dealt couldn’t have been more pleasant. He with even thanked me for being my patience with him, which I did not think was necessary. Even with 5 people ahead of us, we were finished in 30 minutes. We got my wife’s visa the next day and at the front gate, they asked my wife where I was. The interviewing officers have a stressful job. They have to deal with people who can hardly speak English, no French, don’t understand the visa requirements and are unprepared. We couldn’t have been treated better by the embassy people better if we were family.
