The 15 Best New Restaurants In Paris

"The table next to you at this buzzy bistro near Jardin du Luxembourg might be full of politicians from the nearby French Senate, or twenty-somethings from a skate park. It’s a real mixed crowd, and just one of the reasons Right Bank residents are willing to cross the river to eat here. The menu is French but inspired by the chef’s time traveling in Thailand, which translates to things like tender beef served with a tamarind jus and shrimp tartare topped with a crispy tamarind cracker that’s almost like deconstructed pad thai.  " - sara lieberman, lindsey tramuta

Ambos

"Overlooking the Sénat and the Jardin du Luxembourg, this friendly contemporary bistro has an interior done out in lots of untreated materials (exposed stones, brickwork and beams), an open kitchen and small counter. Ambos ("both" in Spanish) refers to Pierre Chomet and his Venezuelan wife, Cristina. Their culinary adventures have taken them from Bangkok to London and Paris, and include competing in TV's Top Chef in Pierre's case. Together they concoct light-hearted and personal cuisine that is full of pep and draws on a variety of influences – European and Thai (pad thai-style langoustine tartar) as well as South American (farm-reared suckling lamb and iodized chimichurri; stuffed arepa cornbread)." - Michelin Inspector

Dined here for lunch and it was fantastic. We had originally booked a Michelin star restaurant but I just kept coming back to Ambos’ website, and at the last minute changed our reservation to switch. I’m so glad I did, our lunch ending up being perfect. The restaurant is so clean, well decorated and has a warm, welcoming vibe. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The owner and chef is also very attentive and welcoming. Making you immediately relax and slow down. The food was delicious - the best we had while in Paris. My only regret is only doing the 3 course lunch vs. the 5 or 7 course option. I was dining with my 13 year old daughter, who tries everything and is no stranger to finer food, but did not care for the first dish as it had beets in it and she doesn’t like beets. After she only ate a little of the dish and it was removed back to the kitchen, the chef came out to inquire what was wrong and wanted to make her comfortable. I insisted nothing was wrong, it was perfect but she just doesn’t like beets. He offered her another dish of her choice but she refused, said it was OK. He surprised her in the end with a second dessert because he wanted her to get 3 fill dishes; which was so incredibly sweet. Just incredible service. Will definitely be back the next time we are in Paris.

Inventive cuisine at the intersection of of France and Asia (Thailand) . Beautiful ingredients, and perfect execution. Plates are colorful and wines to the point . The bread is delicious . The crispy coriander seeds in the chocolate desert leave an amazing after taste . Recommended !

Wow! This wonderful place lived up and exceeded my expectations. We had lunch there and went with the chefs selections. The food was extraordinary, and I tasted new flavors i had not experienced before. The owners and staff were so kind and considerate of our needs. I am already looking forward to our next visit there.

Ambos, a small space run by a husband-and-wife team, Pierre and Cristina. These two have serious culinary chops, their pedigree spanning France, Thailand, and Spain. The place is cozy, almost familial, but don't let that fool you. I went for the 7-course tasting menu with the wine pairing, and let me tell you, it was a goddamn revelation. Each dish was an explosion of flavor, fresh herbs like lemongrass singing on the palate. Fine dining without the pretension; they even brought out this butter sculpted into a smiley face – that's when I knew I was in for a ride. One bite and I was transported back to Thailand, the next to Spain, then France – all in the span of a single meal. The standout? The pollock. Cooked to absolute perfection, swimming in this creamy, decadent sauce. You can tell the kitchen crew are hungry, young guns, pushing the boundaries. Service was warm, attentive, no stuck-up attitudes here. If you're looking for an adventure, a culinary trip around the world without leaving your seat, get your ass to Ambos. You won't regret it.

An excellent experience from A to Z. We loved the journey of tastes that each plate took us on, we were surprised and excited by every dish. Definitely recommend sitting at the “chefs table” right in front of the kitchen, if you admire the art of plating, you will definitely enjoy the show! Also just great to see that all the staff has a great energy between them and are doing what they love.

Ambos was one of the foremost dining experiences of my life. As a solo diner I had the chance to be seated at the counter and watch chefs Pierre, Christina and their staff prepare and plate each dish and it was artistry. I had the 5 course tasting menu. Each course was inventive in its choice of fusion of flavors, but at the end of the day, what truly matters is taste, and that is where the food absolutely shined. The tom yum soup, the arepa and galette were particularly memorable for me personally. The staff were very gracious and attentive. I recommend anyone visiting Paris to make a reservation asap. As for those who live in Paris, this is yet another reason for me to be envious of you.

One of my most favorite places in Paris. It does take you into the minds of chefs who are truly creative, attentive and passionate on their craft. They hug you with the warm vibes and you will feel that they put love and souls in every bites. Love this place ❤️

We love this place. The food is always delicious, and the creative takes on different cuisines keep us coming back again and again. That said, during our last visit, the temperature inside was over 105 degrees (plus humidity), and it started to feel unsafe to be there. Between the body heat and the kitchen heat, it became overwhelming. While we understand that AC isn’t common, at a certain point, for safety of guests, windows and doors really do need to be opened or a fan turned on. We would have happily stayed longer and ordered more, but I started developing heat rash and had difficulty breathing, so we had to leave as soon as we were finished with the mains.
