Google
Very good street tacos, portions were perfect size and each meal was like $9. We both tried the daily special which came with three tacos, rice/beans, and a drink. Would 100% go back again!

Isabel San

Google
Three steak tacos with beans and rice. It's a staple for me. Really cozy outdoor seating with the location next to food trucks. They had limited choices of combos on the menu. Not a bad thing..it makes for a specialty restaurant in my opinion. Portions are a little bit on the small size, but I left with a sense of satisfaction. Taco meat was on the greasy side, but still seasoned just right. I'll definitely be back for those flautas soon!

This place reminds me of home great food great service Leo is always smiling and has top notch customer service! Food is amazing definitely recommend you come to eat here anytime of the day!!

Google
We placed a to-go order for lunch so that we could eat at the nearby Bearded Monk, a beautiful beer bar. We thought our meal was delicious and pretty affordable given the large portions. We shared chips and salsa, which had some charred bits from the peppers. My wife got the cheese quesadilla, and I got the street taco combo w/ carne asada, al pastor, and pollo. I was stunned to see that there were THREE corn tortillas, not the standard two, in my tacos. Very, very pleasant experience. They also started doing a birria taco combo. Just fyi.

Google
We stopped by Ambros today after wanting to every time we drive by & wow--incredible tacos! The beans are also so flavorful! Great customer service & prices can't be beat.

Google
OK, my friend, this place is all the money. It’s really inexpensive and the food is absolutely amazing. We had the number one combo and it is so good. Just enough food and really taste great. The sauce is at the table are really good, but they are both pretty spicy so proceed with caution, but you should try them. The service is great and the young lady at the front counter was terrific. If you’re in the area you have to stop for some food.

Google
Great first experience here. Had perfect weather and enjoyed my lunch on their patio which is opened but covered and decent amount of space. Got the #1 and a small limonada. Limonada was good but a tad sweet for my preference. The taco plate was awesome. It came with 3 Campechano tacos which were great-good salsas with it too. I typically just go for tacos and not a plate combo with rice and beans but didn’t see anything on the menu for individual tacos (also didn’t ask), just felt in the mood to try the plate. And glad I did! Really enjoyed the rice and beans, almost ate everything on my plate! Service was nice and relatively fast. Very much enjoyed the food and will definitely be back

Google
Went today for lunch. Had high expectations. Food was just ok. We had the street tacos & menudo. Menudo was flavorful & enjoyed it. Shrimp taco was good. The other tacos were kind of dry. Nice patio to sit outside.

Yelp
Decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Ambros and I wasn't disappointed. Four tacos and rice and beans for $11! Can't beat that. I got Al pastor, chicken, carnitas, and Shrimp. Al pastor was the best. Salsas were tasty too. Got it to go, had everything I needed. Love them!

Yelp
Pretty good but I really like there taco Tuesday deal!! I think that's pretty cool and it's a nice building for sure. Service was pretty quick but not as fast as taco trucks

Yelp
This is a small taco spot walking distance from the Denton Square. I tried the campechanos tacos and carne asada tacos and both were great. The food is priced well, tacos, rice, beans are good, and the people who work here are really nice. They have taco Tuesday special 10 tacos for $15 that I will definitely be back for with a larger group. Overall this is a good spot and you could eat here multiple times a week with the prices being so good!
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect spot to scratch that authentic itch! Great service. Great menu! Had the fajitas and el pastor tacos. Would recommend both.
google avatar

Yelp
The staff was extremely kind and very quick to run out our food to us and give us everything we needed. The inside is small but if it's a nice day, sitting outside is lovely! The tacos were at a good price and tasted absolutely delicious! If you are looking for a good taco spot in Denton, I would highly recommend coming here!

Yelp
In the area and wanted tacos.... But this place sorely missed the mark majorly. 1) I started with the elote with no sour cream. It was bland af. I love elote so that was sad. Most places put hot sauce, lemon/lime juice, chili powder, something to make it really good. All it was here was corn, a very little mayo, topped with powdered cheese that mostly came off when I pulled the spoon out, and that was it... So not elote at all, just unflavored corn with some mayo 2) the tacos. I am a huge fan of Street tacos and it's very much a craving, but these missed the mark as well. I ordered the bistek, Al pastor, pollo, and barbacoa. Most of the meat wasn't too bad, but the barbacoa was the most flavorless, dry, etc barbacoa that I've prob ever had (look at my reviews.... I've been to a LOT of taquerias). Also, who puts sliced cucumbers with tacos? Never seen that before 3) the hot sauce wasn't good even... The green wasn't bad, but very little flavor. The red was weird.. It was oily and bitter, with no other flavor

Yelp
These tacos are amazing. I did like all the different meats and they are delicious. I enjoyed the corn cup and the rice and beans. And the Horchata was too sweet and the tres leches cake was not authentic and too dry.

Joash L.

Yelp
Great small Mexican restaurant! Food was delicious and service was even better. The employee that brought us our food (shoutout to Leo) was just a kind genuine person. The portions were not huge, but the quality of the food definitely made up for it!

Jedidiah F.

Yelp
Went here for the first time and had a great time, food is made with passion and love, and the service is excellent! They have both inside seating and a great outside patio for those with strollers or pups you have with you. Ambro's Tacos Y Más is a great place to eat. I Recommend the Birria Tacos!

Brianna G.

Yelp
Amazing and delicious authentic food reminds me of my mom's. The workers are so good and add a level of service that makes it feel homey. I love the outside patio got to take my fur baby in her stroller! Very awesome place! Birria is a must have!
google avatar

Yelp
Best tacos I've ever had. The best quality meat. If you have their secret recipe, let me know.

Yelp
The food and horchata are SO good! Their customer service was so friendly and they were super quick with getting the food out. The seating area is very small but so cute! They also offer outdoor seating which I thought was neat. I had 5 tacos with different meats in it and they were each so good and had their own yummy flavor to it!
google avatar

Bryan F.

Yelp
Super legit Birriia tacos! Authentic food at its best. Highly recommend this little gem.

Yelp
Our go to for breakfast and lunch. Food's great, service is friendly and efficient. Patio is great too.

Yelp
Excellent authentic food, good portion sizes, very affordable options and cute outdoor seating.

Yelp
I've been on the hunt for a local genuine authentic taco spot and this spot did not disappointe. Courteous and quick service, great flavorful tacos at a great price, ambiance is nice w/outdoor covered seating to beat the heat and enjoy your food. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Kelley K.

Yelp
Yep, I'd do that again. Cute spot with indoor/ outdoor dining and walk up window. The people could not be nicer and the food comes out quick and hot. The right blend of flavors/ grease/ fresh garnish my tacos were satisfying, I'd defiantly go back next time in the area.

Yelp
Ambro's is always my first choice restaurant in Denton! I frequent this place at least 1-2 times a week and I am never dissatisfied! Amazing food, intentional customer service, and just all around good vibes. Give this place a try!!
google avatar

Jasmine J.

Yelp
Very good food and nice staff. Thank you for let me having my dogs along.happy and will be back. My birria is so delicious. High recommended

Greg V.

Yelp
I love this place. You can always tell the good places because they have pictures of what you can order on the wall! Lol.
google avatar

Magnus L.

Yelp
A small tacqueria, they have more seats outside than inside. You can order either outside or inside. They have a fair number of different combinations, roughly 20 or so. I tried the three tacos with rice and beans. I ordered two steak tacos and one al pastor. The steak was a little dry and didn't have as much flavor as I had hoped. The al pastor was quite good. The jalapeno sauce has quite the kick compared to the other tacquerias I frequent which was a nice surprise. The rice and beans was also good. Overall it was a good experience, I will need to try a few different things to get a feel for what dishes they make well.

Erik D.

Yelp
Tacos are great here! They're not dry like at other places. Their salsa for the tacos is definitely homemade. Everything on their menu is reasonably priced. Staff is friendly and food comes out fast. The place is clean. Also they are open late on the weekend. 10/10 recommend.

Kim R.

Yelp
Delicious food great service cute indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. We will be back!
google avatar

Richard-Michael C.

Yelp
Ambro's is a small restaurant with big flavors. Their carnes are delicious, tender, and filling. I love their salsas too. Try their taco plate special for lunch!

Kat C.

Yelp
I stopped by here on my lunch break and their tacos are giving exactly what I was looking for... they were soooo tasty! The place is small but, cute. The staff is really nice. I've spun the block and back for a second time in a week! Keep up the great work!
google avatar

Nadia S.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but the food was subpar. I got a barbacoa quesadilla and the meat was dry and lacked flavor. The guacamole on the side was bland. My boyfriend had the tamale plate. The tamales were the driest I've ever had. The plate came with rice and beans. The rice and beans came out cold. I don't think I'll be back.
google avatar

Karen B.

Yelp
Passing by and saw this place so ordered two breakfast tacos one breakfast burrito and one steak taco, everything was wonderful! Full of flavor, the restaurant is small but clean and modernized, a nice outdoor area, the red and green sauce were both great and a must when eating authentic tacos and burritos. I will definitely be back!! Great little spot!! Sorry again I got so excited and ate all of my food up before taking a picture so you will have to use your imagination lol.
google avatar

Kaitlynn W.

Yelp
We go here at least once a month, so delicious! If you want homemade, authentic Mexican food then this is the spot! Tortas, tacos, quesadillas and elote are the best!
google avatar

Jana W.

Yelp
We LOVE Ambros! The people are so friendly and the food is always delicious! We usually get ours to go and eat while having a beer next door at DCBC but the front porch is super cute & there are a few tables inside as well. My husband loves the gorditas and I like the choriqueso, every taco I've had has been delicious as well!

Yelp
READER BEWARE ‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼ Anybody who is reading this may probably think it's just another dissatisfied customer in full rage mode because they didn't get enough meat in their taco however please carefully read this review as it may help you rethink your decision about giving these people your business. I would like to Inform the public about the type of unethical people that run this business and most importantly a message to the owner so that YOU can self reflect on how poorly you are running your business by hiring employees that do not give the business a reputable image but instead show miss conduct and no sense of respect towards customers. I don't expect a simple review to revolutionize humanity. I'm simply trying to put some sense into YOU the owner. About a week ago my husband posted a review expressing how upset we felt about you guys not picking up your business phone to at least give us a heads up that you were closing early but instead had us driving an hour out to your business (as per Google hours you close business at 10PM on Fridays) we drove out, came to find out that you had decided to close your business 2 hours early. When me and my husband arrived, we expected to at bare minimum get an apology but instead we were treated poorly, some Hispanic guy didn't care to acknowledge us because he was too busy on his phone and another younger Hispanic girl completely threw dismissal gestures with her hands as a way to demonstrate her lack of interest. Rightfully so we became upset and had an exchange of words with the staff at that time. Yesterday, we decided to return to have some tacos (worst decision). Once again from the time of arrival we were treated poorly by the cashier whom stated her name was "kiss my ass" we were continued to be spoken to very rudely, no sense of politeness or friendliness toward us as CUSTOMERS. We had been out waiting for our food for approximately 20 minutes when we suddenly get approached in a conflictive manner by the busboy/janitor who was cleaning tables questioning about what had occurred previously. Along with being persuasive and conflictive in getting us to respond he also threatened us and made it a point of interest the fact that he had an ankle monitor. He intended to bring this up with the purpose to intimidate us. We made an attempt to get him to comprehend that he was in a work environment and WE ARE CUSTOMERS and it is very unethical/unprofessional for him to be approaching us in that manner. He proceeded by stating that he didn't care to lose his job. Although, "kiss my ass" had stated that she called the police for apparently no reason when we chose to remain calm. Which are conflicting statements because one person is threatening us and the other one is calling the police. Just to self reflect. We keep questioning where the owner was? Are you okay with having your employees causing all of this disturbance in front of other customers? And also when we chose to leave we requested the owners contact number and number was refused to be given to us? We will be reporting your business for unfair business practices. I hope YOU, the owner if you are reading this can self reflect on the very poor job you are doing on managing your business when you are allowing your employees to show this type of behavior towards customers. Without US your business cannot flourish.

Yelp
Exactly what the name is... tacos and more. I will be back to try more items on the menu. I tried the flautas which were good and crispy. Rice and beans were also good. I will say that I'm used to more food for the price. I have gone to other taco shops and seem to have more portions and not have paid much. The presentation reminds me of a taco truck, which I find some of the best tacos from! There isn't much room to sit inside although when I went it was a nice day out so we sat on the patio. The patio is really cool because while you eat you can sit and people watch. Parking might be a struggle if you go on a busy day. There are two options to choose from when ordering. You can either go inside or order from the outside window. Give this spot a try, support local!

Yelp
Had the 3 taco plate; the al pastor is so sweet and well done. And the choriqueso was so freaking delicious... y'all. I never had choriqueso before, never even heard of it and I grew up in a chicano family. it was so satisfying and super cheap $$!! This is definitely my new favorite taqueria (: we often hit up Dallas Dr or La Sobracita, but this one is closer to campus and the meal pictured above was only $17, as opposed to the $25+ I usually spend other places. The salsa's are dope, really hit the spot and add some flavor to the food (which is perfect w/o it.) I've had the arroz con leche from here as well and it was just the right amount of sweet and thick. Plus, everyone who works here is really chill and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and the cashier always has the best suggestions and is hella knowledgeable about all the food! Found this spot on a whim and am so glad to have done so. Great location, too.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast tacos! Friendly family service with top quality food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Had dinner with the family last night. We all liked the food. My kids had a chicken quesadilla with guac and sour cream and they really enjoyed it. My husband had the carne asada burrito, he said it was good but small. I had carne asada tacos which were good. But the al pastor was not good at all. Beans were ok. But will definitely be back and try other things on their menu. Service was great. Very friendly girl.

Yelp
When comparing this place to the other taco joints in town, it falls a little short for me. They have a menu that is very reminiscent to Monterey and Miguelitos, its almost like they all just hit copy and paste on the same format. I ordered an assortment of different things that I would usually order at a taqueria at the little counter, and sat down. Its worth noting that they have a little walk up window outside, if it is too busy on the inside for your liking. I ordered their #2 taco plate, 3 tacos, rice and beans for $6.75. I went with their Al Pastor for my protein. I also ordered one bean and cheese sope, and a coke. The Pastor here automatically comes with pineapple (something that I actually enjoy but I know there are some pineapple haters out there), I am unaware if you can get it sans pineapple or not. The meat it self was a very odd texture for pastor, and was desperately lacking flavor. Thankfully, their green salsa packs a nice punch, and their red sauce is very different from other places in town. The rice and beans were actually very good, the rice being the favorite thing I had this trip. Do not skip out on it! My sope was just pretty standard to other places, and was rather big and tasty. The workers inside are also very nice, and the place was spotless. Overall, not my favorite but I am more than willing to make my way back around and try some more stuff!

Yelp
Sooo good! Super authentic Mexican food and great prices. I love going. You can't go wrong here.

Connie W.

Yelp
Ordered bistec tacos the normal way with onions, cilantro, etc. The tacos fell short for me. The flour tortillas tasted store bought and dry. The meat had a weird taste, dry and just missing something. It was a lengthy wait for tacos and there weren't any customers when I ordered. I was on my authentic taco kick, but unfortunately this one didn't make the list. As I always say, try it for yourself. It could have been an off day, but I just will not return. You can order at the window or inside. They have patio seating outside with a few tables, so you can eat there if you desire. Customer service was ok. The location is caddy corner to the post office, so look for that or you may miss it.

Kamry L.

Yelp
AMAZING service and even better food!!!! 10/10. The only taco place I'll go to! It has really cute outdoor seating and amazing vibes! Checks every single box I have :)
google avatar

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
such a cute place to sit outside, and their tacos and elotes was amazing! definitely coming back and their service was really good too
google avatar

Emily A.

Yelp
Everything smelled so good and the reviews were decent so my family and I gave it a try. Most of us got the 3 taco place. Rice and beans were the only thing good on the plate unfortunately. All the taco corn tortillas must have been completely submerged and in oil before they added the meat because the meat was dry but the tortillas were soaked in oil. Which was weird because they weren't grilled or anything. The guacamole was just mashed avocado mixed with pico, no seasonings. We also got churros, they smells delicious and we're crispy but filled with caramel. It was gross. Their churros would be a 10/10 without the caramel filling. I was so excited about this place but unfortunately won't be coming back.

Ellis E.

Yelp
Amazing food and a wonderful atmosphere! Service was excellent! I got the tacos with chicken and the chicken was perfect, wonderfully season, and cooked so well and the sauce was on point!

Cynthia H.

Yelp
I would give this place a 0. It started off so well and all of a sudden this place went down hill really quick. I think they changed the cook. We had take out from them yesterday and that will be the last time I will ever go back The tortillas for the tacos were Submerged in oil and tasted old. The chips stale also submerged in tons of oil. But honestly stale chips and old tortillas are better than raw meat! We ordered tacos al pastor, half way through our last taco we realized that the meat was not cooked at all. Y'all don't do it! Save your self from this place. The girl that I spoke with when I called back didn't even apologize, pretty much didn't care.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has authentic Mexican Food which goes great with a Beer from DCB or The Bearded Monk! I like the Chicken Tamales and the Quesadillas. Wifey is beyond authentic herself and eats the Tripas Tacos!!! One of our favorite stops in Denton.
google avatar

KeKe K.

Yelp
Good Mexican food but not the best I've had. We ordered the steak tacos and steak burrito. The meet quality was good but the steak lacked in flavor. It's a small restaurant with a little bit of seating inside and some seating outside too. Friendly staff, but as far as food, it was just ok. Nothing special, and with all the other great options around the area, I would prefer to eat elsewhere next time.
google avatar

Joi L.

Yelp
Everything was gross. The guacamole had zero flavor to it. I asked for everything to be in my burrito, somehow I only ended up with cheese and meat.
google avatar

Geoffrey G.

Yelp
Let's taco bout how awesome this place is! Let's start with the building itself. They have a relaxing, open, little patio to enjoy the weather and some delicious Mexican food. There is a little walk-up window where you can order and then hang out at one of their multiple tables. In case of bad weather you can head inside, which is definitely quaint, but has room for a few families. Inside also has a walk up window to place your order. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They are happy to answer any questions about the menu for you. How about that food! Everything that we have tried has been delicious. My kids love the Elotes in a cup! For only $3 you get a good sized cup filled with fresh, crisp corn, mayo, and cheese. Don't forget that chili pepper on top! Prices are great, you won't break the bank for this delicious food. Do yourself a favor and check out Ambro's Tacos Y Mas.

Carlos C.

Yelp
Best tacos I ever had in my whole life I could really eat there every single day I'm so glad my friend took me here to try the best tacos!!
google avatar

Ray A.

Yelp
Nice little joint with excellent food. I tried the tacos pastor that came with rice and beans. The beans and rice remind me home and the tacos are just wonderful. You won't be disappointed...

Christian G.

Yelp
As a real Mexican, the meat on the tacos were so bland. That red and green salsa had no flavor. Service was cool. The music was nice too. Brrrr
