We were recommended this restaurant and very glad we went. I would suggest making reservation, but luckily we got in with bar seating as walk in. It was wonderful to watch the kitchen cook and all the dishes were divine. We especially loved the octopus and pulled pork croquettes. The apple tart dessert was also stand out. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in Santiago.

We saw Bistro Ambrosia on Somebody Feed Phil and knew we had to come! We were not disappointed. The flavors are strong, the presentation is beautiful, and service is great! We especially loved the pescado chileno and the chirmoya dessert.

Bistro Ambrosia is an absolute must-go if you appreciate exceptionally crafted food made from carefully selected ingredients, turned into a true sensory experience. Every dish is thoughtfully composed, both in flavor and presentation. The service is outstanding, attentive without being intrusive, and they serve both drinks and food in beautiful glassware and plates, including Riedel, which adds an extra touch of elegance. The décor is spectacular, especially the mural by renowned Chilean artist Santiago Ascui (see my photo), which gives the space a unique identity and artistic soul. The location could not be better: right in the heart of the city, inside the beautifully designed MUT Center, which is worth a visit on its own. A must-go. Highly recommended.

A must-visit in Santiago for sure! We have gone to this place several times during our stay in Santiago, so tried quite a few dishes (the menu changes), and also repeated some of the dishes. The food is very very good and offers you to explore some interesting combinations. They were not serving alcohol yet during our stay in the city, but said that will soon have it on the menu. Save the space for coffee as it’s nice, and desserts are very delicious! (Especially with matcha) The service is super nice also. An extra compliment to Nicolas, who was our waiter on our first visit and since then always greeted us and came for a brief chat even when not serving our table. This really adds to the pleasant experience. The place gets quite busy on the weekends and holidays during the day (we mostly came for lunch)

Wow! The Chilean burrata with prosciutto was soooo good. There were a few flavour combinations that were so clever: the creamy clean burrata with (i) the pickled gherkin (sliced cucumber actually), (ii) the salty prosciutto and (iii) the sweet succulent miso eggplants - or what I think was miso. The pork croquettes were also good even if I thought the pork flavour was strong (and I can take strong pork flavours). The sublime peach flavoured mousse helped to mask the strong flavour somewhat though. For the mains, the chicken Caesar which was interestingly offered as a chicken thigh done confit style with anchovy, lettuce leaves and croutons. The chicken meat fell off the bones - the sous vide process did its work! What could have lifted the dish to 5 stars is if they could use crisp romaine lettuce instead of what I thought was regular green leaf which was limp. The ramen was comforting with a perfect and flavoursome hanjuku egg. What detracted from the dish was the overwhelming and heavy use of sesame oil. It crossed the line from being a fragrance enhancer to overpowering even the mighty kimchi which became lost. Presentation wise, it would have been great to be able to see the noodles and ingredients. Finally the torta rocher for dessert was a great study of textures. The flaky crust worked with the brittle crunchiness of the pralines. Taste wise it was sweet for me - best to have this with a bitter coffee or a clean tasting tea.

Bold flavours and great dish presentation. This is by far the best culinary experience I had in Chile. Definitely a few levels above everything I tried. We went for the Omakase experience, letting the chef chose for us. The venue is also beautiful and the service very friendly and attentive. Book a seat by the kitchen to get a full experience!

Very nice restaurant. Great atmosphere and food. Deserts are delicious , the pastry chef might be French as they remind me of famous French deserts.
