Has a hole in the wall feel. The food was great, we got the garlic bread and the fried mozzarella appetizer they were delicious. Our entrees came out pretty quickly and were also amazing. I had the strawberry lemonade drink, and it was perfect. The parking lot was very full on a Tuesday night, but I believe there is more parking around back! Amazing spot!

Google
food was p good; my shrimps were juicy, good deals on the drinks and other deals by the day the ncsu decor can be over the top but at least they live up to how much they cater to students somewhat w a weekly deal allowing students to get 50% off their entrees(?) and get their entire meal comped regardless of day service p much just consists of them taking your order and not much else. we had to wait around for a while until anyone came around so we could ask for our check rustic interior

Google
Lunch service was atrocious this afternoon. Unfortunately that’s the same reason I haven’t been back in 4+ years. The food was still quite good, but I’m not sure if I’m gonna make it back here again or not….

I stopped in for lunch today. The bar was very busy and I expected to wait a while but I didn't have to! The food came quickly and was really good. The prices are reasonable and the portions generous for the money. The server Warren was very busy but still had time to be friendly and answered some questions I had about the history of the restaurant and the building it was located in. I love old places like this with lots of local history. It's really cool when employees know a lot about where they work. My Greek salad was awesome and they didn't skimp on the Olives. The house made dressing was spot on. The sweetness cut the saltiness of the feta and complimented well. I'll definitely be back!

Google
Read the reviews and decided to stop here for dinner after a weekend at the Fairgrounds. We ate on the bar/pub side. Food was delicious! White pizza and chicken Alfredo!! A shout out to the staff Sydney and Allison! Super friendly, catered to every need and kept our ice tea glasses filled without asking!!! Ladies, your efforts are noticed and greatly appreciated! Thank you for making our experience awesome! We will be back!!

Google
It was my first time here and the food here was amazing. I did the create your own pasta and my boyfriend got the Stromboli, I recommend! The servers were very nice too. Overall good experience, definitely coming back here!

Google
The meatballs were the most delicious thing I’ve ever had. The cookies and cream cheesecake was so good as well. Warren provided me and my family exceptional service and took great care of us. 10/10

Google
Fun place to eat, especially if you want to bathe in Wolfpack sports nostalgia. Had a great chicken marsala.

Yelp
I sometimes come here for lunch. Love this place. Authentic Italian American food near North Carolinia State University. Many of the staff have worked there for a long time. Service is always good--food exceptional. I love there Spinach Lasagna and Spaghetti with meat sauce. They serve a very good Italian Vinnegret on their house salad. The restaurant is a shine to State and Amedeo and his family. When you walk in, you feel like your entering and Italian restaurant in Brooklyn or South Philly, as well as a place dedicated to the Wolf Pack! Try it; you'll like it!

Kevin C.

Yelp
Very bad service, refused to serve my group but served everyone else. Very rude and disrespectful felt very uncomfortable at the inappropriate and would I even say rude looks from the staff.

Lizeth V.

Yelp
Do not come here, We didn't even get the menus until we asked 35 minutes later??.. they weren't even that busy, some people walked in and got their menu when they sat down and even got to order ahead of us, nobody paid attention to us what so ever, Worst customer service ever.

Jony b.

Yelp
If I could leave a 0 I would. I don't want to overreact or anything but it's crazy how it takes over 30 minutes to revive a menu, mind you I had to call out to the waiter to even get noticed. Around 20 minutes of us waiting a couple walked in, got seated down and got menus while we were waiting, by the time they got they're drinks and ordered we just barley got our menus. I don't want to blame it on anything racial but we were the only people of color in that restaurant. I'm not too sure if this was just a us situation or if it has happened before but yeah don't come here if you don't seem privileged.

Yelp
Stopped in while visiting our granddaughter at college. The food was amazing and the service was wonderful. Can't wait to take her back here again

Madelynn S.

Yelp
Do not order there Spaghetti and Meatballs. Was really bad. They were really nice people and the atmosphere was cool. But, the food was just bad.

Ralph P.

Yelp
The best place for reasonable Italian! Great service, reasonable prices and wonderful history and atmosphere. Even for a Tar Heel!

Yelp
The low down: Always great service and food. This place has become a family favorite since it was introduced to me and my boys a few years ago. Now with my oldest at NC State it only makes sense To frequent it. The food is always excellent, there can be a long wait at times, especially for big parties. Definitely a NC State loving theme!

Yelp
Went to dinner before The Play4Kay basketball game. Not crowded when we arrived at 4:30. At 5:45 we walked out and never received our entrees. Another couple that sat down when we did ordered the same entrees and they were finished eating in less than an hour. All we received was our salad, bread and excuses or lies. "Your food is coming out right now" 15 mins later"they messed up the lasagna and having to remake it" 10 mins later "it should be out soon, I'll send my manager over" manager was told and never bothered to come to our table. Really crappy to provide service like that. I have been eating here for 40 years. Never again after the shitty service and a manager that didn't care. I'm done

Yelp
Great customer service and excellent quality food. You can order pastas in as many ways as you like. Great bar

Yelp
This place is a very cute restaurant off Western Boulevard. It is dimly lit and has a sports bar vibe. The staff is very friendly and they seem to always have a good amount of people in it. They have a nice big menu of various pastas, pizzas, and subs and have big portions with decent prices! I had their famous lasagna and oreo cheesecake which were both delicious, but the one dish here that blew my mind was the lobster ravioli. After I tried it once, I never tried anything else again. I come to Amedeo's strictly for this now, EVERYONE should try this!!!!! The pastas here are so flavorful and taste very homemade. This is honestly rare because many Italian places around just give expensive flavorless marinara or alfredo sauces. This is a place you should definitely eat at if you're a pasta lover.

Yelp
We were feeling nostalgic about our alma mater after NCSU's NCAA win over Oakland, so we went to Amedeo's for Sunday lunch. The restaurant has been around longer than I've been alive and the walls are covered with NCSU sports memorabilia. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn't measure up to the WolfPack ambiance. My $15 spaghetti with meat sauce was largely tasteless; the sauce was watery and had a tiny amount of finely ground meat. The spaghetti was served a bit too al dente for my taste as well. Surprisingly, our meals were served just warm instead of hot since I thought the pasta would have been cooked to order. The accompanying bread was very good and had obviously been freshly baked. Service was fine, but could not make up for the kitchen's poor performance. Pro tip: Amedeo's website features a lunch menu but fails to mention that the specials are only available Monday through Friday. Amedeos's is worth a visit if you're a die hard NCSU sports fan. Don't go for the food, as you'll likely be disappointed. All in all, Amedeo's is a poor value if you're looking for anything other than WolfPack nostalgia.

Yelp
A friend was in town visiting with her daughter who was at camp at NC State so I knew she would enjoy lunch at the iconic Amedeo's. It didn't disappoint. I was late due to traffic but they greeted my friend and had her seated upon my arrival to join her. I love Amedeo's lasagna so my friend ordered it too. It was so delicious moist and flavorful. Also the bread was soft and warm to accompany that lasagna. Our Mamas would be proud as we both cleaned our plates. Very friendly and professional service. Fun place especially if you're a Wolfpack fan like me! Lovely decor! Go Amedeo's! Go Pack Howl Yeah‼

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch and I'm glad I did. My boyfriend and I were quickly seated when we walked in. The restaurant has a cozy feeling with different themed booths. We started with some fried ravioli. The ricotta filling was absolutely delicious. They ricotta was seasoned beautifully. I opted for ranch instead of marinara to dip the ravioli in because I'm addicted to ranch, but the marinara was great too! Then we both ordered the hot Italian club. Look y'all, I don't know what sauces they used on that sandwich but it was delicious. I usually would remove onions, mustard, etc because I'm not a fan but I just ordered the sandwich as is. Everything melded together so beautifully. The service when ordering food was pretty slow. We ordered an appetizer and our server didn't return to take our main order until the appetizer came out. It took a while for him to show back up after that for us to get our check. I'll definitely be going back to try some other things on the menu because this place was amazing!

Yelp
Greek salad with hot bread and butter started our meal. Stuffed mushrooms was a nice appetizer while we waited. Eggplant Parmesan with angel hair pasta was old school delicious. Generous portions are the Rule at Amedeos. N.C. State University and Hurricanes territory are proudly displayed on the photo walls alongside with numerous sports memorabilia. Flatscreen TVs round out the sports bar atmosphere and full bar with wines, beers, etc. Your fan central with good food, beverages, and fun are highly recommended.

Yelp
Fast lunch service and serving size was great! Went with coworkers while attending a class at NCSU.
google avatar

Heather W.

Yelp
Good Italian food with a taste of NC Sate history. The lasagna is very good with large portions. Unfortunately our serve was inattentive and took forever for refills and the check. But the food is great so I give 4 stars.

Yelp
We stopped by before the NC State basketball game and had dinner. It took a little while to get seated but it was well worth the wait. We got the garlic bread to go with our meals and it literally melted in our mouths. My son had a kids pizza, my wife had the pasta carbonara and I had the lasagna. Everything was great, the portion sizes were just right. We got a salad as well but I forgot to take pics of them. They were great too. We will definitely go back when we are in Raleigh!

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Delicious food. Highly recommend. We will definitely go back! Must note that parking was a pain, but it was clearly a busy night.

Kerri M.

Yelp
Cozy is a good description for their ambience. Their tables are named differently with pictures to match their themes. Just in town for a concert but I bet this place is packed on the weekends. Food and service were AMAZING.

Brad R.

Yelp
Beef Ravioli was really disappointing on par with a frozen meal that was microwaved. For the price of the entree it certainly didn't meet expectations. Service was above average but the hostess didn't seemed to stoked about being there. If you are fan of NC State Athletics it's a museum that you cannot miss but maybe go for a couple of beers and skip the meal.

Emaleigh J.

Yelp
good food and a strong menu, however, the overall experience is dismally impacted by the general service, or lack thereof. our waiter, Isaac, seemed like a deer in headlights every single time he approached the table. in the future, when placing new servers on the floor, it might be helpful to have them announce that they are new to serving and not experienced, to provide more understanding as to why the service may be slow or disappointing. Isaac repeatedly would disappear from the floor for thirty minute periods, without sending anyone over to check on us. As I'm writing this, we have been waiting for over ten minutes for Isaac to refill a drink that was visibly empty when he last stopped by. Still waiting on checks and boxes as well. Isaac, please do better.

Yelp
Group dinner and we had the back room. Party of 15 so lots of variety on the food chosen. I heard no food complaints at all. We tried most of the different appetizers and they were excellent. I had the seafood Alfredo and chose to have it over Angel Hair pasta and it was delicious. Only issue is the beer list is not correct as the Stout on the menu was out and had been for some time. They also ran out of several beers while the group was there. Since we had a reservation and this was the second year in a row we had done this I deducted a star. Food and service were both great but come on folks beer is a huge profit center. Poor planning on management.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
I love Amedeos! Such a cool place with tons of NC State memorabilia. Love that they offer gluten free options. Haven't tried the gf pizza dough yet but the gf pasta is actually pretty good! Staff is always super nice and welcoming too. Always love going on tuesdays for the half priced meals for students

Yelp
This place is worth checking out. My family and I drove down from NOVA and needed a place to eat dinner and settled on here. We got there and parked (free, which you rarely find where we live), and we're immediately greeted and seated by friendly staff. Most of the food was fantastic. I had pizza which was just pizza, but my wife had the chicken cacciatore (delicious) and both my daughter and son had the chicken piccata (equally delicious and what I would have ordered if my daughter didn't get it).

Mackenzie G.

Yelp
Great food and we got take out. Highly recommend and have ordered from there multiple times.

Yelp
Sometimes, criticism is hard to take....and I won't candy coat this review. This place was great- once - a long time ago. The lasagna was amazing a long time ago....now, there isn't any seasoning, there's literally no meat in the sauce. The eggplant parm came out looking and tasting overcooked. And don't get me started on the calzone. This thing is huge...football sized, as the say.....but over HALF was just dough....very little to no ricotta, I added meatballs and there was very little of it and the dough was not well cooked. I've had other issues over past 2 visits including very slow service. When people sat after me getvtheir ENTIRE APP AND MEAL at the same time...BEFORE I even get my app that I ordered before they sat down....well that's an issue.....and the worst part....the waiter didn't seem to care as my app took another 10 minutes to get. BE BETTER....you patrons deserve it

Yelp
We went here on Labor Day for lunch because we always wanted to try it. They were short staffed. But, really, really nice. We understood and didn't let the wait bother us. I ordered chicken wings with buffalo sauce and French fries. The wings were really good and the French fries were very tasty. My partner ordered the eggplant parmigiana. Sadly, it was horrible The sauce was terrible, the pasta pre made. The eggplant was by far the worst I've ever eaten Two Sloppy, soggy pieces of small eggplant prepared in the worst coating. Ii seriously looked like mush. We were surprised by this because most of the reviews are decent. Except a few that said exactly what I'm saying about this dish. We usually give place so a second chance But, fortunately I can get wings anywhere. A second chance for this place is not possible The staff is super nice and I still left the staff a great tip It wasn't there fault We are saddened by this experience because we wanted to like it here.

Yelp
We went to Amedeo's today, 4/25/2024 for lunch and were disappointed that Shannon was not there today. Food was good, but Shannon always makes our day. Hope she is there next week when we go. We go every week, and love having her as our server. Fast and friendly. Always makes sure we are taken the best care of.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for a date night and the food was awesome!!! We both decided this is now our spot for great Italian food. The Pak Pasta was delicious!

Krista G.

Yelp
So this was our second visit to Amedeo's and it was a holiday weekend. We came in as a party of four. It took a minute to get a table. It appears as though there is limited wait staff as there is a sign that says they are looking for help. We were seated after about 5 minutes or so. Then it took quite a while to get our order placed because the waitress seemed to be waiting on a lot of tables. But, once we for our food it was good. No pictures of our appetizers because we were so hungry but it was the first time I ordered the meatballs with cheese. Meatballs were delicious but was somewhat disappointed there was only 3 to share. Entrees were good as usual. Calzone did not disappoint nor did the lasagna. Italian sub was good and my antipasto salad was also great!

Juan C.

Yelp
Great food great service and a great smile. This is what I got out of my experience while visiting Amedeo's. I am from out of town, better yet, out of the state, California to be exact, visiting family. Let me just say that Mimi was absolutely key to my wife and I enjoy our experience. Great job, keep it up. To bad you only offer 5 stars, I give you 10.
google avatar

Cheri A.

Yelp
If you're craving your grandmother's Italian dishes, you need to stop in at Amedeo's for a wonderful meal. The marinara sauce is out of this world! Our server, Erin, was more than helpful, and pleasant, adding to an enjoyable dining experience.
google avatar

Karen B.

Yelp
Great service and the food was yummy. Not too crowded for a Friday night too. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Nancy G.

Yelp
There really isn't any positive things to say. Service incredibly slow. Food tasteless. The "famous" lasagna which was to include sausage and ground beef seemed lacking of the sausage. Ground beef tasted completely unseasoned. Sauce was a few chunks of tomatoes. Seemed reheated vs made fresh that day. Bread was warm but unremarkable.

Lily C.

Yelp
Jordan was awesome!! This place has great food and I love coming here. The service is great and they have the best ravioli. Totally recommend!!
google avatar

Ember B.

Yelp
Food was disgusting. Got the chicken parm sandwich with fries and the oreo "cheesecake" for dessert. The sandwich was gross. No depth of flavor at all. It just tasted of sour and acidic tomato--that's it. It almost made me heave while trying to eat it. The fries were soggy and had a bunch of dark spots in them. They were coated in seasoning, so that was the only thing that made them barely edible. Oreo cheesecake did not taste like cheesecake at all. It tasted like it had been frozen for months?? It had no flavor and was unbelievably dry. It was like eating something made of wax or plastic. Absolutely horrible and overpriced. Save your money!
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
Great ambiance and the Lasagna does not disappoint. My daughter got the chicken Alfredo and next time I go back that is going to be next. Gotta get some garlic bread

Kevin W.

Yelp
I have eaten here hundreds of times. This was by far the most disappointing visit. My wife and I were treated like crap. We should have turned around once we saw the hostess and the waitress disagreeing about where to seat us. The waitress was very short of words and annoyed. I was ready to leave but my wife wanted to stay because she was hungry. The food looked good but boy was I fooled. No seasoning to it at all. Will not go here again.

Yelp
I'm not actually sure what holy ground looks like but for in NC State football found this is sure to be it All of the spaces in the restaurant or adorned with NC State football memorabilia going way back decade after decade which was really cool to look it up I understand the place has been there forever and went with a bunch of alumni a decade or more out of school As far as the menu items it was really good pizza and they offered a number of their specialty pizzas as well as the create your own masterpiece and we did both Not exactly sure what happened on Wednesday night but seem like every time we ordered a round of beer they mysteriously were sold out and we had to switch to something different so that's a negative if you are looking to stay on the same beer Over the course of an evening We had a really attentive waiter who may have been a student himself and overall had a great experience I highly recommend this pizza place and Italian eatery if you're nearby and especially if you're in NC State football fan

Yelp
This restaurants has been around since I was a girl and I am no longer a young woman! Always love a sports bar and am a huge NC State fan and if you are, this is a must. If you like sports, it's a must. To the food, it is reasonable and good. You really can't go wrong and they have stayed current for 40 years. Great place to grab a libation before the game.

Yelp
Oh. My. Word!! My husband and I took a day road trip to Raleigh and wanted to try something different for lunch/dinner. Hubby is a State fan, attended NCSU many years ago...and loves all things State! The atmosphere is great...very relaxed, sporty, and fun! The hostess, waitress and bar tender all greeted us and were very friendly. There is NC State memorabilia EVERYWHERE,! Hubby was in Heaven! And then...the food came! The waitress had explained that everything is homemade...the pizza dough, the sauces, the sandwich bread, the hoagie rolls...so anything we ordered would be fantastic! My husband ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and I ordered the pasta carbonara ( favorite dish I love to order at Italian places). The pizza was amazing! The crust was bubbly and crispy. And my carbonara was THE best!L it was garlicky and creamy and so very yummy!! I ordered the shrimp with it, and they were cooked perfectly. The fresh bread they bring before the meal was warm and fresh and the butter melted immediately. You have GOT to try this place!! The food, the staff, the atmosphere...it's all top-notch!
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
Chicken Penne Rustica was fantastic. The restaurant has a sports bar feel. Customer service was great!
google avatar

Ian S.

Yelp
Food was mediocre. I had the meat lasagna and it was watery with little sauce in r flavor. Noodles were pretty flabby as well.. Used to be much better! Our server was fantastic however and she made our evening!

Abigail A.

Yelp
Amedeos gives big portions of great food. Their bread is easily one of the best things I've had and the NC State memorabilia on the walls is super cool. Great vibes and great service!
google avatar

Rasheem H.

Yelp
It's sad you pay 18.00 for Chicken Parmigiana, and you get a portion to serve a kid. You better off going to The Olive Garden at least your portion make since to the price you pay.

Joan L.

Yelp
Went there during my visit with my NCSU student. Sadly, it was not good at all. The calzones were greasy, the fried calamari was dripping with oil. Out of the party of 6- only one person liked her meal (manicotti). Otherwise, too oily and not worth the cost.

Heather H.

Yelp
BEST local hole in the wall place around. Committed to the community for YEARS! Great lunch specials. I've only EVER had the lasagna in 20 years. Pizza looks delicious but I go there for the lasagna. YUM!! Place is ALWAYS busy and they offer great specials on game days and to students. #GoPack

Yelp
This has been a longtime favorite of mine for many reasons not the least of which is the always friendly and hospitable service. My girlfriends and I came in for a quick lunch today and even though the restaurant was busy, Shannon was an absolute rockstar and took great care of us. Can't wait for our next meal here!
