"America’s Test Kitchen will debut a food truck outside of its Seaport headquarters (Innovation and Design Building, 21 Drydock Ave., Boston). Open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, the truck will serve a single dish each week — a recent feature from ATK’s show, magazines, or cookbooks — and customers will be able to leave feedback on the dish and buy a variety of ATK merch. Expect food pricing around $9 and items like sandwiches, bowls, salads, and soups. For week one, the dish is a Philadelphia pork sandwich from the current issue of Cook’s Country. The truck will also host special events, such as book signings and demos." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

I would give them less than no stars if I could- I went to their site, started to create an account- but deleted everything when I saw it was not free. BUT they still harvested my email address, that I deleted from the email field, and are sending me emails every day- not only that, they are sending me emails to my secondary account as well. I have tried to unsubscribe several times, but to no avail. I finally had to put their email address in the Blocked Sender/Junk Email Folder. DO NOT enter any info on their website unless you want endless emails with no legitimate way to end them. What a sorry organization. You expect this sort of thing from lesser known, unscrupulous sites... but I guess if it walks like a duck and sqawks like a duck...

Crooks! Not Cooks, but Crooks! I loved the TV show, so I signed up for a $35, one year, online subscription to watch old episodes of the show. Immediately, they put me on their hyper aggressive email list trying to sell me anything they can. I get daily emails trying to sell me cookbooks, or some hardware. Then after my one year was up, they auto renewed me for another year at $35. There was no notification about the auto renew. I would have never agreed to any type of a auto renew, had I been given the option. I am sure they had it hidden in very small fine print when I originally signed up. It's bad companies like this that ruing it for all the honest companies; because I am now cynical about buying a one year subscription to anything! CEO David Nussbaum should be ashamed.

I signed up for a "free trial" which was 14 days. I missed the cancellation by two days because I was sick. They do NOT allow you to cancel online. I couldn't even delete my credit card information. You HAVE to call a phone number to cancel. The wait time was 7 minutes when I called in. I was immediately charged $50 for less than 30 days of access to the website because it was December. All of this because I wanted to look at a recipe for cooking my Thanksgiving turkey LOL! I wish I would have read some reviews first. They have a poor rating on BBB.

I love their TV shows. I love their books. What is abysmal is their customer service and fulfillment processes in the bookstore. EVERY order has something to go wrong with it. Sent via the incorrect FedEx service. They say free SmartPost shipping, which is fine since I'm sending to a PO Box, and that's what was selected when I ordered (I have screencap proof), but when it actually gets sent - they send it via FedEx Home Delivery which does NOT ship to PO Boxes. Now I have to deal with FedEx and get the address modified. IT WAS CORRECT WHEN I ORDERED BUT YOU SCREWED IT UP AGAIN. This is the second order this specific problem has happened on. They also routinely don't ship your complete order. Then you have to call and find out what went wrong. Out of stock. Backordered. Oh, I'm sorry, that grater didn't ship with your books. I've heard it all. Also, be prepared to WAIT. They don't even ship your order until 5-7 BUSINESS days after you place it. That is UNREAL in this age of e-commerce. 1-2 business days would be ok, but 5-7 business days is WAY too long. Like I said, I really do like their books, but good grief, ordering from their bookstore has been a nightmare 100% of the time. Literally. I have not had a single order that has gone off without something going wrong. The punchline: they desperately need to overhaul their fulfillment service and CSR agents. The agents I've spoken with have been incompetent and some have not even had a decent command of the English language. Corporate culture starts at the top and flows down thru an organization. Whoever is at the top of the bookstore/fulfillment center needs to be replaced. They obviously cannot do their job.

Please note this is a review of the actual business, not the television program. The television show is wonderful. The business leaves a great deal to be desired. We own hundreds of dollars worth of ATK cookbooks. We've gifted countless Cooks Illustrated magazine subscriptions and cookbooks to friends and family. All of this gets you no access whatsoever to the online version of recipes you've already paid for in print. If I've paid $50 for a cookbook, I feel I should be entitled to see the related video if one exists online. ATK could easily set up a system where you enter a code from your book or order number and be granted online access for all recipes contained in that book. Technologically speaking, setting that up is trivial. It's high time ATK finds some new blood for the business side of things. This business model seems to be developed by an individual so ancient that they likely believe the world wide web is created by actual living spiders and this internet thing is probably just a fad. They present themselves as an institution breaking new ground in cooking yet retaining Rockwellian charm. In reality, the corporate entity behaves like the mutant love child of Phillip Morris and Exxon.

These guys are crooks. If you buy a book from them, they put in very small print that they are enrolling you in their annual book club. They send you a book and then expect payment. When payment isn't received, they send it to a collection agency and then mess up your credit.

Christopher and Bridget are so nice to talk to.  Just like two of my favorite Chefs, Julia and Jacques, Christopher and Bridget's charm is there sincerity.  Feels like you're talking to an old friend.

Yelp
I had the distinct pleasure of visiting America's Test Kitchen this fall, and let me just say that it totally exceeded my expectations of how amazing it really is! The new space is absolutely gorgeous, located in the Boston Design Center, right in the heart of the up and coming Seaport District. When I arrived at the Design Center, I could already tell I was in for something good. The whole building is bustling with the best and brightest of Beantown's creative hive mind, and the energy was infectious. In addition to housing ATK, the Design Center also has many options for food, including a new outpost of Boston bakery favorite, Flour, where I started my day! Pastries from the brilliant Joanne Chang PLUS a tour of America's Test Kitchen? I mean.. pinch me, I'm dreaming! We took a short guided tour of the sparkling clean and bright office and studio space, and I was totally starstruck the entire time. ATK regulars Jack Bishop and Lisa McManus were just as friendly and outgoing as they seem on TV, and it was a delight to meet them! I also got to have some one-on-one time with the infamous America's Test Kitchen Cow, which has a starring role on the show whenever they present a butcher-centric episode. I think the cow was the best part of all. Many selfies were taken. In addition to touring the headquarters, I also got a chance to glimpse at the America's Test Kitchen food box, which was showcasing a homemade chicken curry and an olive oil cake, which I tried. It was HEAVENLY. Seriously. If you're looking for a dessert to wow friends and family this holiday season, look no further than the ATK Olive Oil Cake. Wow. The chances to check out America's Test Kitchen's headquarters are far and few between, but if you are ever given the opportunity, TAKE IT! It's a foodie's paradise, and you'll have the best time! Trust me!

Yelp
"Can't get enough of your love babe..." what a place for foodie town! Lights! Cameras! Action! The sets! The STAFF!!! The more I cook and the more I eat, I have found a wide range of personalities from sheer sophistication, though hoit snobbery to honest knowledge and passion with sincere appreciation for those that appreciate food, The science of food, the presentation of food, the community of food, the presentation of food in print form or television not just the art of the table, the comfort of food... I visited ATK with a group of wonderful ladies (ok some more wonderful than most!!) from the Culinary Guild of New England on a day trip to the Mecca that honors consumers that truly drive the culinary world: the home cooks and everyday consumers. The place is honestly respectful of its employees, immaculately clean and run by an incredible staff of talented people. Amazing, knowledgeable and approachable people! These are the authors of Cooks Illustrated and a living lab for all things food, it's history, gadgetry and culture. You can go to the website to find a dream job, offer your services as a home recipe tester, or even a taste tester! I was truly honored and smitten by the staff and everything food driven! If you ever get a chance to visit, take it!

Yelp
I discovered this food truck while researching America's Test Kitchen. Since I was visiting Boston, I made it a point to stop by and have lunch at the food truck. The menu changes about every 2 weeks and the truck is only open Wednesday through Friday. It is located in the Innovation and Design Center in the industrial area of Boston. There are outdoor tables and chairs where one can enjoy lunch. The items have already been tested by America's Test Kitchen so you can't go wrong with the flavors. The recipes can be found on their website.
