The 10 Best Greek Restaurants In London

"On a quiet corner of Paddington, far away from the busyness of train platforms and Vapianos, you’ll find Ammos. It’s a quiet, humble little Greek spot with a deep-fried feta and honey starter that will give you the right kind of sugar rush before you dive into the meat-heavy mains. You won’t find queues outside or a buzzy atmosphere to pull you in, but the food is good and it’s a great, homely back-pocket spot. Just focus on the starters. That’s our favourite part of the menu here." - sinead cranna, jake missing, rianne shlebak, heidi lauth beasley

The London Fried Cheesy Snack Power Rankings

"The Dish: Fillo Feta Sesame & Honey This is the kind of thing we’d trick our little, air fryer-dependent minds into thinking that we can make at home. But, of course, Ammos in Paddington makes it better every time. There's something beautiful about the salty stick of feta, fried in golden filo pastry, and generously drizzled with Greek honey. The feta softens into a thick, creamy texture, and the pastry adds the perfect crunch. Dip every forkful in the pool of honey for that combination of cheesy, sweet, and salty goodness. My partner and I headed to Ammos Hyde Park for dinner. Upon arrival, we were amazed by the simple yet elegant style of the restaurant, instantly transporting us to Greece! The intimate setting, with the owner personally running the service, added a special touch. We followed his recommendations, starting with tzatziki, eggplant, and hummus dips alongside perfectly done pita bread and an authentic Greek salad. The whole sea bass and giant, juicy prawns on rice were exquisite. Generous portions and excellent quality of the food! What truly made the experience unforgettable were the traditional Greek desserts – to die for, literally! The sweet treats were a delightful conclusion to our meal. Additionally, the selection of wine to accompany our entire dining experience was simply amazing. Georges’ welcoming hospitality was the cherry on top. I am confidently crowning Ammos as the king of Greek restaurants in London! We will be coming back for more!!

This is a fine restaurant. The waitress and owner were wonderful and we loved the place. Greek salad and dips were great and I probably could have stopped with a salad but we ordered the grilled meat platter. It’s was fine without any surprises. Lamb skewers tasted weird and we didn’t like them. There’s was a lot of food and we were not able to finish it all. All in all a nice meal but it came with a hefty price tag. Although we loved the place the food and the price tag is not enough to more than a 3-star review

I came to London to visit some friends and was really missing home. I had heard of Ammos restaurant from quite a few people and decided to give it a try and was blown away! Everything was so fresh AND they had my favorite starter of all times!!! (Feta fillo😍) Authentic and very tasty Greek food! Absolutely loved it and will definitely come back the next time I visit!

Cute neighborhood spot with delicious food! I’ve been on the lookout for a nice restaurant in this area. I feel like a lot of places are either super touristy or overpriced and not very tasty. I’m so happy I found this gem. We went for lunch on a Friday and had some Santorini wine to go with the hummus. The restaurant felt comfortable and I enjoyed the large window at the front. As we were talking away, eating out hummus. We ordered the Greek salad and musaka. Both the bright salad and musaka were excellent. I feel like I took a trip to Mykonos for my Friday afternoon. We also got to try the spicy feta and eggplant dip, which is really recommend. The server was really lovely and he made our experience 10/10. I would definitely be back.

We had a very memorable experience at Ammos served by the delightful Despina and George. The Greek food here is very much at the refined level and you can tell is made with love. George is quite the raconteur and is a wise soul able to interact on an emotional level. We look forward to returning at the earliest opportunity!

We had an amazing dinner here during our last night in London! Highly recommend! (highlights were the Cretan dakos salad, the fried halloumi with jam, and the tzatiki). The staff were so lovely.
