"Yet another in the wave of Mexican-American LA chefs transforming the cuisine, Thomas Ortega brings his fine-dining drill to bear on this vibrant offering in his native Cerritos. Here he fuses his specific style of the city’s Mexican cuisine, like handmade tortillas and spicy salsas, with an American twist. Look for that Coca-Cola glaze on his pork belly or the sprinkle of Doritos on chilaquiles, not to mention such luxurious accents as truffles. It’s hard to miss with any of Chef Ortega's tacos, which range from crisp beer-battered cod with smoky salsa de arbol to tender, charred al pastor. Can't decide? Order the tour de tacos for an overview of the flavors the kitchen has to offer. Fried “calamari famoso” is the ideal partner for a spicy michelada." - Michelin Inspector

We were greeted at the door and asked if we had any allergies in a way that made my party feel genuinely cared for and individually seen. What followed was always at that same level of care. Every bite, every act of service was born to make one little corner of the world brighter. The food was delicious, exceeding expectations with each bite. Salty, crunchy savory, sweet again, again, and again. Thank you for making our night special 🙏❤️ ($30 to $50 with alcohol)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ i tried this spot for the first time today. I ordered the potato taquitos, which weren’t my favorite, but my boyfriend got the chicken nachos and those were delicious—I definitely wished I had ordered them instead! He usually prefers diced chicken while I like shredded, so I really enjoyed the way they prepared it. They also surprised us with complimentary chilaquiles for our first visit, which was such a nice touch. Service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. I’d come back to try more items off the menu.

Google
The food was great, service friendly and attentive and an easy going, family friendly atmosphere... we where there for happy hour so don't know what it's like for the dinner crowd. The happy hour menu was very good and inexpensive although the margaritas were a little too sweet for my taste. We took back an order of nachos and a burrito for my kids... it was delicious and huge.

Google
We've been coming to this joint for years. The food is consistently good, great service and Lucha Libre decor inside the restaurant. We always enjoyed the freshly made tortilla chips with salsa and guac, but this time the chips were a bit stale. We ordered the taco trio, salad and birria. The portion of the salad is quite generous, it's tasty so we cleaned it up anyways. The 3 of us totally enjoyed our food. I had the birria for the first time and it definitely hit the spot. To top it off we had the pan dulce bread pudding and it's amazing!

Google
Food Its not bad, I noticed my first taco was good, but after it starting getting cold it wasn't as tasted. I would recommend that they do fresh tortillas if they don't already, as that will enhance the food quality. Maybe wrap the tacos in foil to keep them warm longer. Service Their service is always great. Many beautiful and kind services, always great service. The 1st time I went here a couple years ago, they treated me like family. I felt like I was hanging out with my aunts/cousins. Atmosphere Very nice atmosphere, and the music is great. Enjoyable place to go and have some tacos. I haven't had their margaritas yet, but they look delicious.

It's been awhile since my last visit to @amorytacos in Cerritos . Chilaquiles were really good, Margarita was refreshing , and the bread pudding was yummy. Service was great, love the decor. I would just come here for Happy Hour !

Google
I love love love this Mexican restaurant. I make it a point to go here every time I am In the Cerritos area. Food, manager, service and vibe are all phenomenal. When you walk in there is an abuela making handmade tortillas, do I need to say more?! Always make sure to order their mole tots there, then I’m a huge fan of their surf and turf. Lots of shrimp and carne asada steak for the price and it’s delicious. Literally one of my favorite meals in OC/LA

Had a great dinner and catch up with my daughter at Amore Y Tacos in Cerritos. Shared appetizers Mole tater tots, and a bowl of Fideo soup. Afterwards we shared short rib taquitos entree. So delicious food and just a great visit with my daughter!💞

Yelp
Ordered: - Brussel sprouts (4/5): Crispy, perfect amount of sauce for some extra flavor, and not too heavy or oily. - Mole tots poutine (4/5): I have a peanut allergy so we requested the sauce be separated from the tots. While I couldn't fully enjoy it, the tots were good and liked the idea of making it poutine style. My gf however was a fan of it with the sauce. - Pork belly (5/5): Wow! Stand out dish that we would come back for over and over. Chipotle flavors weren't too overpowering, pork belly was crispy and perfectly cooked and almost candied, sweet potato purees balanced the dish perfectly helping it not be too heavy. - Wet burrito with short rib / beef barria with half red and half green sauce (3/5): Decent wet burrito but main con was that the inside was quite dry with the beef also not being super flavorful. Found out their salsas are all made daily in-house and my gf was a big fan of the red salsa. - Churros and horchata ice cream (5/5): Another stand out dish with the perfect serving size and an incredible contrast between the churros and ice cream in flavor, temperature, and texture. The horchata ice cream was kind of like a vanilla ice cream with a richer flavor. - Fruit stall (5/5): Creative dish that was a refreshing way to end our meal. Loved the variety of fruits included but do wish that the chamoy and tajin could've came separate so that we could adjust it to our preference. Overall (5/5): We came here to check out the DineLA menu since it seemed like a steal, and we will be back to try their other dishes especially as we found out the appetizers on the normal menu are actually 3-4 times bigger than what we got (and they were already huge portions). Definitely well worth the prices. Service was very friendly and the restaurant lighting was pretty dark. It's not the quietest restaurant but we could hear each other well enough.

Yelp
Was there to celebrate my birthday not too long ago and it was uncomfortably warm inside. Mentioned it to the server and she acknowledged it and said management knew about it, but nothing has been done. Anyways... ate our food real fast and left. Also told the manager and it seemed like no big deal - seemed like it's been ongoing. Improve - get a new ac unit,

Yelp
They charge for their chips and salsa. STRIKE ONE Their seating is uncomfortable. STRIKE TWO Their menu is a math test (nothing just priced) they give you the starting price and you add on from there ... and it's expensive for a Mexican Restaurant They don't really give you refried beans, they are like ranch beans out of a can. The rice is bland, and waaaay too salty. The food is fine. But not as good as other places. The servings are large, which I guess makes up for the price Even their enchilada's have a base price and the you pay more for cheese! LMAO Their environment is pizza parlor loud! Not a place to get to know a date. They only offer Stevia for a sweetener. I HATE Stevia ... sweeteners are too cheap not to offer the full complement of options. STRIKE THREE Service was stellar! But I won't be back and cannot recommend this establishment.

Yelp
Excellent service, really fun ambiance with amazing food. Our table loved the mole tots!! I got the prawn special the th rest of my party all had tacos if all kinds with beans and rice. Everyone loved everything. We will be back. The mole .. so good.

Yelp
This is a great little place. The service was okay, it somewhat felt like we were rushed to leave. The food as always was tasty. I wanted Mexican food, but they have other alternatives if you want something else. The drinks were also great! I had a pomegranate ginger margarita and it was delicious! Must try if you are in town.

Yelp
I came here for HH dinner this week with hubby & my mom . We got seated right away as it wasn't so busy. Our server gave us cordial & efficient service. Hubby ordered the beef taquitos & my mom ordered the taco plate with rice & beans. As for tacos, she chose 2 carne asada & short rib taco. I was craving fish tacos so I had 2. All of us were happily satisfied with our meal. I tried a few bites of the taquito & it was so delicious. The meat was juicy & tender, the condiments & sauce on top of the taquito was packed with flavor. My mom enjoyed the carne more than the short rib taco bc the carne had more flavor. The fish was nicely battered with just the right amount of crisp. I'd definitely order this again.

Yelp
I came here randomly on a weeknight and everything we got was delicious. The ambience is very lively and they have great deals for Tuesdays. I would return and try other things on the menu as well. The service was attentive and quick!

Yelp
Yummy food, gets busy and loud. Not a lot of air circulation. Gets warm inside during a crowded evening. Cocktails are great.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were borderline starving after a day in the sun around San Pedro. We were excited to fill up at Amor Y Tacos and they delivered! Their plates were generous serving sizes and featured unique takes on familiar Mexican meals. I had their margarita flight which came with 3 fine dressed glasses, tajin rimmed, and even had popular chili/fruit flavored Lollipops hanging over the drinks - I remembered these same lollipops from my childhood so that certainly hit home in a good way! The margs were not overly boozy, and outside of how they were dressed, their tastes were pretty standard. My girlfriend and I each did their tour de tacos. The plates were huge and included rice and beans. Each taco must've had at least quarter pound of meat plus veggies that smothered the tacos in the best way.. The tacos themselves had rich savory flavors. My favorites were their carnitas and al pastor. We had trouble finishing all our food considering we also split their calamari famoso. That was probably my favorite plate from our meal. The appetizer had exciting flavors with the zingy lime squeezed over the crispy squid and amazing sauce. They had been plated with shishito pepper bits that delivered a pleasant peppered herd kick to taste buds. Our meal as a whole was filling. The plates more than handled our need for strong Latin flavors, and we had been serviced by courteous, efficient and friendly people. I'd certainly recommend trying it if you have a similar craving and are in the area!

Yelp
4++ Mexican restaurant located in a strip mall that feels like it would be great for casual meet ups and catching up with friends or fun dinner nights out. As he walked through the door, there is an area where they are pressing fresh handmade tortillas. Which in my opinion is always a great sign lol. I was by myself, so I just sat myself at the bar right away and was greeted by a friendly bartender that was going to serve me. I was kind of passing through on my way home so I wanted something to fill me up but not too heavy. I ended up going with three tacos. I thought the tacos were really good and getting the three tacos gave me a good variety as well. Definitely a great spot where you can hang out With friends or family. And just an overall great neighborhood family style restaurant in general. Parking was also pretty easy to find even at peak dinner time because there's a pretty big lot.

Yelp
Besides the great reviews I had read prior to our visit, we had zero expectations. When I heard it was on South Street my first thought was near the mall. Nope. Our party of seven got seated as soon as we checked in. The table was in a well lit extension that was also cooler. It was a little loud but we didn't notice once the festivities began. I have to say, the service and any food item that was served, illicited serious ooh's and yums throughout our meal. Our kids shared the Birria Tacos & a Chicken Quesadilla. My wife and I shared the Pork Belly Tacos & the Short Rib Tacos. "Oh, what FLAVA". I definitely noticed that they slice the tomatoes finely and the other additions to the Tacos were incredible. The onions, cilantro, cotija and the Aioli brought everything together. Not to mention the Guacamole mini tower and the sample of Chilaquiles. Man, it felt like there was a party going on in my mouth. I do believe the Pina Coladas could have been silkier and the Churro dessert was heavenly. That dish got passed around like a collection plate at church. We arrived circa 6:15 and we walked out at 7:15. The staff was courteous & SUPER efficient. They seem to have a really good team. I wish they were here in the desert. We will return.

Yelp
Came for happy hour. Shows it's til 6p. Got there and it ended at 5p. Welp, it's dinner time. I was craving the taquitos I saw on their menu and wanted to try the short ribs. Meh. I should've went with pastor. The ribs weren't as tasty as I had imagined and it was a tad dry. Had use up the green sauce on the plate for moisture. Rice and beans on the side was actually good. I'd get that to go for sure. I like the full tortilla rounds to break and share with friends for chips and salsa. Tortillas hand made fresh everyday. I'll give this place a another time for happy hour before 5p.

Yelp
Amor y Tacos, a Mexican restaurant in Cerritos, has been a multiple-time Michelin Bib Gourmand Award recipient, which is a distinction given to restaurants under $35 per person that serves high-quality food. I've been here multiple times, but we recently came here to celebrate Valentine's day as we were craving Mexican food after being in Japan for two weeks. I got their carnitas enchiladas with red sauce, their guacamole, and their Sandia (Watermelon) margarita. These are all winners. I also enjoy getting their mole tots and their tortilla soups. I used to come intermittently for happy hour and I like to take advantage of their dine LA menus when that happens bi-annually. You can't go wrong with their margaritas. Also, for the most part, I really like the flavor combinations that they offer here. Even though tacos are synonymous with their name, I would recommend that you go with their apps and entrees as they tend to have more interesting flavor combos than their tacos and burritos.

Yelp
A vibe. Friendly service and their menu has so many options to choose from! I as craving some authentic Mexican food and soo happy i came across Amor Y Tacos! They are noted for being a Michelin Guide Restaurant so i had to give them a try. Upbeat vibes inside, but I opted for outdoor seating so I can enjoy the peace of the full moon. I enjoyed the shrimp enchiladas - amazing flavor and quality ingredients. Give Amor Y Tacos a try! You wont regret it.

Yelp
Make the drive. This place is more than a taco joint it should be a Mexican food destination! The fish tacos are excellent and the pork belly tacos are a meal you will think about for days after! Their aged steak is perfection and they have a roasted pepper salsa that is the best salsa I have ever had. I will say that again - the best salsa I have ever had! I am from Texas, have lived in California and NM. Have traveled extensively in central and South America for 3 decades and I stand by that statement. The tortillas are made on a planchette by a happy lady at the front door - steering the tone for the ambiance of the place. The decor is perfect. The bathroom and floors spotless. The bartender and servers helpful and got it right. My new favorite taco and Mexican food spot in LA county, in all of southern California for that matter. Go there.

Yelp
We felt like eating tacos and what better place than to eat hand made fresh tortillas ala orden than at Amor y Tacos! Upon entering, we were greeted and told that there would be a brief wait. However, as soon as we were sat down we were approached by our server who offered us drinks and given that it had been quite a while since my last visit I needed a minute to look over the menu. I ended up getting the tour de tacos which comes with rice and beans. I honestly couldn't say which taco was my favorite because they were all so delicious! I enjoyed my margarita flight as the drinks were on point! Although I do wish the ambiance had Mexican music playing in the background. This place is truly a go to for that authentic Mexican taste. Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
After church we decided to eat here after seeing it on the DineLA restaurant list. We waited about 20 min to get seated. The restaurant is big. Upon entering you're greeted with the fresh aroma of tortillas on the grill. The floor was dirty though and some of the tables took awhile to get cleaned as I think they were understaffed. The bar area looks great, lots of options. We opted for the DineLA and very much enjoyed our meal. For starters: off the menu we got the guacamole it was good but lacked flavor to my taste. For DineLA: we ordered the 3 options. All 3 were good. CHARRED BRUSSEL SPROUTS chipotle aioli, pepita, red wine vinaigrette, cotija & cilantro MOLE TOT POUTINE crispy tator tots, queso, crema, house made mole negro, cilantro. onion & radish TORTILLA SOUP chile guajillo chicken broth, avocado, onion, cheese, chicken tinga, cilantro & crispy tortilla strips. For entree: we ordered one beef birria wet burrito and carnita wet burrito. The mole sauce is tasty! The chipotle agave glazed pork is a must try. All of the components worked and tasted amazing. We got the margarita flight and that was a bit underwhelming it tastes the same and super sweet. To end the meal we got the bread pudding and churro and it was the perfect ending to a great meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Margarita flight- delicious. You basically get 3 drinks for free. Take a look at the sizes. You get a classic lime marg, sandia marg made with their agua fresca, and my fav, the pineapple mango. Chile relleno burger- huge, super juicy and flavorful, shareable size. Esquite- it was the cheapest app on the menu at $7 so overpriced for corn. Still really good. This place is definitely for large groups. The portions are generous and they have many drink options. I can't wait to go back to try more.

Yelp
Are you as shocked as I was seeing that I've reviewed this wonderful fusion place-- especially given how much of a kunnt I was about something crispy. What?! For shame. This time I'm back as a vegetarian and finding a plethora of no meat options. Delighted I ordered a taco plate of veggie/ Brussel sprouts and rajas problanas if I'm remembering correctly and honestly some great vegetarian option especially for a taco place where beer and coffee are served. Is there anything better?! Very true definition of fusion and the service is pretty damn cool. Friend and I sat at the bar and did not at all have to fight for anyone's attention to get service. I wish I lived closer cause I want to try their hatch chili spaghetti. Wait for me Amor, you've been here 11 years I'm sure you will still be here when spaghetti comes a callin'

Yelp
Needed a place to eat before Disneyland last Sunday and this spot didn't disappoint! My mom has been hyping this place up to me for YEARS and I finally came. First off, the decor is amazing! So much color and friendliness coming from the staff, that it felt like home! It was also my fiancée's birthday that day, so they treated our whole table like family! Now the food was so colorful and flavorful that I left the spot thinking, "Wow, what am I going to order on my next trip back". The flights each had their own nice flavor and all had a good kick to them! I specifically got the chile relleno omelette and it was bomb! The flavor is the cheese wasn't overwhelming and fit my palette perfectly. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Celebrating our daughter on her birthday . Food was delicious as always. They have a wait list, recommend this, unless you like to wait. Our server was awesome. I didn't get her name. The place was busy, hello, Taco Tuesday!! It was very nice. Please come and visit them.

Reenie V.

Yelp
I had lunch with my daughter on October 3, 2025 in Cerritos and the food was delicious, the help was super attentive and friendly. It was a little expensive, but my wet burrito was very large, therefore worth the price. Would love to go again.
google avatar

Yelp
Calamari was good. Asada tacos were decent. Not much flavor. Al pastor tacos were a little better. Salsas were spicy but lacked flavor. The tortillas were really good; you could tell they were homemade. Steak was cooked well, but under seasoned. Great staff, located in a plaza with plenty of parking. I probably wouldn't come back. Portions were small, left hungry. Wish they had complimentary chips and salsa so we could have left full at least.

Yelp
I haven't been to Amor in a year and the enchiladas, poke tostadas, and side salad are still exceptional! Linsey was a great waitress and the food arrived promptly after placing the order.

Anisha J.

Yelp
The place is beautiful when you enter in, enough parking, clean, and the service was great! Service is super fast! Like before I knew it the food was already in front of us. Everything is pretty good here and don't hesitate to get the Agua Fresca Sandía. So refreshing and not too sweet. You can taste how fresh it is. My boyfriend and I had the chilaquiles verdes with chicken tinga added & it was delicious. For appetizer - elote which was pretty good but not super over the top tasty. You can pass and try something else

Yelp
Excellent meal! After searching for a good place in Cerritos to host my party of four for lunch, this Michelin Mexican restaurant didn't disappoint me. The Tour de Tacos was an excellent choice for tacos lovers, it come with 5 free choices of tacos and side of rice and beans. My sister enjoyed her selection of short rib (2), I had shrimp, carnitas and al pastor each (3), these were all very tasty, I specially liked the shrimp and carnitas, al pastor was good. My sister and friend, each chose taquitos, one chicken and one vegan. It also came with side of bean and rice. At end we pretty much cleaned up our plates yet had room for churros for dessert. Very satisfying. The lively ambiance and warm service were incredibly inviting. Had great time!

Yelp
If I could give this place 100 stars I would. The food is excellent always. The staff is the best and most attentive. The environment is phenomenal, always clean upbeat and always makes me want to come back. I see some reviews complain of long wait times... ok I can say honestly if there is no wait is it worth it? My favorite here is broccolini 10/10 , hatch chili spaghetti 10/10.. I can't even list everything....So many choices.. Never have had one bad experience.

Yelp
Happy Hour all day Tuesday. They have a variety of great tasting dishes and appetizers. Great atmosphere. Great service, always. Staff is friendly and very attentive. I come here for the food only. As far as their drinks go, I believe they aren't as good as they use to be. Unsure what has happened behind the bar, it's just not it anymore. Better off just ordering a beer to keep it safe. My favorite dish here is their spaghetti. It's made with a roasted hatch chili cream sauce. So delicious. This dish never disappoints me. I add their grilled shrimp to this dish. They have great quality shrimp. Always made perfectly. Appetizers I recommend: potato taquitos, chicken taquitos, ceviche, brussel sprouts, and corn. Tortilla and Fideo soup are awesome. Amor Chop salad is a great option. Chile Colorado was ok. I ordered this once. I'll never order again. It was not to my liking. I'm not a fan of the New Mexico chile sauce. Another great dish, Chipotle Agave Pork Belly. Love the sweet potato puree. The glaze is flavorful. Everything in this dish really complement each other. Mole tots are another fan favorite. Just not mine. I don't really care for their mole.

Yelp
This was my second time coming here. It's a bit tricky when parking because there aren't that many parking spaces in the front of the restaurant. Went around lunch time and it wasn't too crowded. It is a bit warm in there but manageable. The service is very prompt. We placed our order and got our food in less than 5 minutes. Granted it was only tacos, that's still pretty impressive. I took my mom and daughter. We all shared a 5 taco plate with rice and beans. Pretty filling. The restaurant is filled with colorful paintings and has a bar. It's a nice place to sit down for a quick lunch. It gets pretty busy at night.

Yelp
Great spot. Went for lunch, and ordered the ahi poke tostadas, pork belly tacos, and 3 taco plate of al pastor, carnitas, and short rib. Tostadas: Definitely a hit. I've had a lot of tostadas but these were definitely an elevated version. The wasabi crema was very tasteful and added the hit of spice that was needed. Pork belly tacos: the pork belly was amazingly crispy, almost to the point where they were like chicharron. The only unfortunate part was that while it stays really crispy for the first taco, it starts to get soggy by the 3rd one, but that is 100% my fault and not the restaurant's. I would recommend this as a sharing dish in a group, so you can eat all 3 quickly. Carnitas taco: Also very good. The carnitas somewhat reminded me of birria, had a similar seasoning flavor to it. The pickled onion adds a lot of sharpness to what would otherwise have been too heavy of a dish. For lunch, the restaurant was a bit dim but not overwhelmingly so. Also sat in the far corner so we were away from any windows. Our server came off a little blunt, but definitely not rude or cursory so we were fine with it. Definitely would come again.

Yelp
Made reservations through Yelp and took advantage of their dineLA offer ($35/guest). They're located in a very busy shopping center which made parking a little difficult. The restaurant was also super busy, but luckily our wait was fairly short. The service was only okay, but everyone was very friendly. There were some long waits in between ordering, food arriving, and follow up visits/check ins. Seemed to be a little hectic. FOOD: My wife and mother-in-law are both Mexican and very picky about Mexican cuisine. There were three of us dining, so we were able to try everything on the dineLA menu. Several of our appetizers and entrees were a little bland, but there were some standouts. The Tortilla Soup and the Charred Brussel Sprouts were fantastic, as was the Hatch Chili Pasta with Shrimp. We ordered two of the Margarita Flights ($20 dineLA special) which had three of their "most popular" margaritas; watermelon, mango, and amor. They were syrupy sweet, which seems to be a trend in a lot of Mexican bars/restaurants these days and had candy pops in them. Guess I'm old school and prefer a classic or Cadillac margarita. Even something a little spicy, but I don't think these are refreshing, just filling. The two desserts we shared, Pan Dulce Nutella Bread Pudding and Churros with Horchata Ice Cream & Salted Caramel, were both excellent. Overall, I'd give Amor Y Tacos another try to see what other menu items I might enjoy, and I'd definitely have another bowl of the Tortilla Soup. At this time, I can't say I'd recommend them. We'll see after another visit.

Erica M.

Yelp
My friend brought me here for dinner. The service was great. From the moment we walked in, a friendly hello goes a long way. The food was delicious, I had the shrimp taco, veggie tacos and vegetarian rice and beans, all of it tastes exceptional. The salsa was fresh and delicious. Thank you for the great experience

Yelp
As soon as you walk in, the ambiance is awesome! Our server was Lupe and she was honestly one of the highlights of our first visit here! She recommended what to try and it didn't disappoint! My husband got the short rib burrito and I got the pork belly tacos: both were honestly amazing!! The horchata was not very good; but our server was kind enough to switch it out for a watermelon agua Fresca which exceeded my expectations! We're so happy we found a great local spot; excited to come back!

We have been coming here since they first opened. The food has stayed consistently good and so has the service. Ambiance: this is a really fun vibe. It's a great place to bring dates or friends. They have a lot of colorful decor and I love the paintings they have up. Food: The food is good. The chips are nice - you tell it's freshly made. The salsa that it comes with is flavorful and well seasoned. They also have this amazing habanero salsa, you pay a little extra for it but if you like spicy food I highly recommend it. I do feel it's a bit disappointing that they charge $5 for chips and salsa. They used to give the first round for free and ask before they brought it so it wasn't wasted. For appetizers, I recommend the mole tots. Note: if you generally don't like a mole sauce, you don't like these. The mole tots are something that I haven't found anywhere else. The mix of the sauce, crispy tots, cheese, and salsa is delicious. It's a huge portion size so more of a shareable appetizer. I also like the potato taquitos. They're not the best I've ever had but they are good. The green sauce that it comes with definitely enhances the flavor. I think the filling just needs a bit more seasoning and then it'd be perfect. For entrees, I think their cheese enchiladas are okay. If you don't eat them immediately when it's hot, the cheese does congeal within 25 minutes so it's not the best. I also think their red sauce needs a bit more seasoning. I do recommend the veggie tacos, they are well flavored and I love the fresh tortillas. The wet burrito is nice but they've switched over to white rice and I think that takes away from the flavor. I will say that before the switch the wet burrito was my go to entree. Drinks: they have some great cocktail options. I prefer their margaritas and their draft house beer. Price: it's a reasonable priced restaurant. We got 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, and 1 entree per person and it came out to about $50/person.

Yelp
Even though it was a rough start, I definitely do like this place. I went here with my family before they headed out of town and I should have made a reservation ahead of time. I told them 12 people and they said half of us had to be there before they sat us so we waited at the bar until the rest of us arrived. The bartender was super friendly and I had the pepino cucumber spicy margarita and it was so good! When the rest of us got there, I realized they only made the table for 10 people. We squeezed and made it work before another worker came and put a smaller table at the end so we could all sit better. My sister had the wet burrito and it was huge and delicious. I had the taco plate with the Al pastor and short ribs tacos. The short ribs were soooo tender! My husband had the steak and it was cooked perfectly how he liked it. My brother got a pitcher of the house margaritas and he said it was the best he had in a while, not watered down at all. All in all, was a good meal. Will come back... just will be sure to do the online reservation.

Yelp
I love love love this Mexican restaurant. I make it a point to go here every time I am In the Cerritos area. Food, manager, service and vibe are all phenomenal. When you walk in there is an abuela making handmade tortillas, do I need to say more?! Always make sure to order their mole tots there, then I'm a huge fan of their surf and turf. Lots of shrimp and carne asada steak for the price and it's delicious. Literally one of my favorite meals in OC/LA

Yelp
I came here on a Tuesday evening around dinner time and it was pretty packed! However the wait to be seated was only about 10 minutes which was great. Customer service was very attentive and friendly. It's a bit loud so it can be hard to have conversations at times. The happy hour menu has a great selection. I ordered carnitas and chicken tacos and they were great. The meat was very tender and flavorful. The carnitas had a bit of a minty taste to it but delicious. The horchata was also made well, it was sweet and refreshing.

Yelp
TLDR: Go for the happy hour and/or dine-in experience. Do not takeout. Skip the Angus New York Steak. Amor Y Tacos is solid. I have dined in for their happy hour and have gotten takeout. I highly recommend dining in. The food comes out hot and fresh. The ambiance is a great place to catch up with friends and family. And the staff are friendly. Also, Amor Y Tacos has a solid happy hour. The beer-battered fish taco is my favorite; lightly fried, airy, and crispy. This is the best fish taco I ever had. Shrimp ceviche is good and fresh. Other items like their tacos, mole tots, nachos, and taquitos are okay; flavors here could have been balanced better. The food does have similar components, and there is a redundancy in flavors. I also ordered takeout from here. I arrived a few minutes before receiving their confirmation text, and the food seemed to have been ready for some time. The beer-battered fish tacos were not that crispy; the moisture from sitting in the box made it soggy. The tostadas from the ahi poke tostadas were a bit wet too. The textures of the food were not quite at the same level as when I dined in, but overall the flavors were good. What surprised me was the Angus New York Steak that I received. I ordered medium-rare, and the steak I got was dry. Additionally, the meat quality was not great; it was older meat, and the color of the uncooked portion had a grey hue and was tough. There was also no seasoning on the steak. I did not get any of the "citrus" marinade, and the steak had no salt and pepper. The char on the steak was the only flavor. The mojo/green sauce was also bland. Additionally, the onions were not caramelized. Unfortunately, this was probably my least favorite steak I've eaten.

Yelp
Chose this place based on reviews. I ordered a breakfast burrito to go NOT tortilla drenched in oil ... and I bet it's some cheap inflammatory oil! No utensils, no napkins. How does this place have four stars is beyond me. Very disappointing, money frown the drain. I tried to eat it but the oil was dripping disgusting.

Yelp
I came here because it is super close by my house and because it's on the Michelin guide, so I knew it was a MUST try. I ordered the 3 taco plate with the tinga de pollo, carne asada, and short rib tacos and my husband ordered the mole enchiladas and we shared both dishes. Let me start off with saying that the mole enchiladas were PHENOMENAL and literally blew me away!! The mole sauce was so good and went really well with the enchiladas. I think ordering this is a must. The 3 tacos were excellent as well with my favorite being the short rib tacos; these were juicy and I loved the pickled radish on it. I asked them for the spicy hot sauce and adding this to the tacos elevated them, so if you're a spice fan like I am, be sure to ask for this. The tacos also came with a side of beans and rice which was really good as well. Overall, I'd say that they have excellent Mexican food here. The price point is fair given the quality and quantity of food given. We came on a Saturday night with a party of 8 and had to wait about an hour, which is a bit long, but understandable because of our larger party and because the place looked pretty busy. They do take reservations so I recommend that if you can! Service here is pretty good and friendly, however, because they are busy, we had to ask them for the same thing a few times and it was a little hard flagging down our waitress. The ambiance here is casual, but lively and festive; the chairs and walls are colorful, there is music playing, and there's string lights outside that also light up the inside of the store. The restaurant is located in a plaza with ample parking.

Yelp
Met up with a friend for lunch and she recommended this place. It was a super cool ambiance with fun artwork. We were seated right away and servers were super attentive & friendly. We had the charred Brussel sprouts. They were nice, crisp and full of flavor. Tacos were large portions and generous with meat. Overall they were delicious (meat from the short rib taco was hard to bite) but had good flavor. Rice and beans were good too. Will come back and order drinks next time.

Yelp
Went here to celebrate my best friend's birthday, per her request. I'd never been to this restaurant before, so I didn't really know what to expect. I was very impressed by how good the food was! I cook Mexican food all the time, so I didn't think it would exceed my expectations. But it did. I loved the calamari and the aioli it came with, I'd never had it cooked like that before. Next best thing was the 28 day aged steak, which was delicious! The shrimp also was delicious, and the churros with horchata ice cream were like the cherry on top! Everything was so good I'm definitely going back soon! Our server was super attentive and checked on us frequently. And the ambiance was very family oriented. The music was a bit loud but everything else was great!

Yelp
5 stars for food, 3 stars for ambiance. Food here is AMAZING. Drinks pretty good too. Service is fast and friendly. My only complaint is ambiance. There are 2 rooms - one to the left is all nicely decorated & cozy and festive, with booths. The one to the right is bare, like sitting in someone's cement garage on hard chairs. It is DEAFENINGLY loud (I'll admit I am over 60) in the right hand room and you cannot hold a conversation, even with the person right next to you. We have always walked in (no reservation) when we've gone here and always get seated in the yucky cement room. I have friends who have gone to the nice room and have a completely different view of this place. Food is incredible, everything my family has ever ordered has us groaning and smacking our lips with delight. Definitely earned their award for food! It's just that if you're spending a fair amount for food & cocktails, I'd like to be able to hear the person next to me. I would recommend either getting food to go (if you live close and know food will make it home hot) or make a reservation and ask for the room to the left of the entrance. Or, be in your 20s and have great hearing!

Yelp
Interesting recipes and delicious flavors. Mexican fusion with some dishes I need to try in the future. The wet burrito delivered subtle flavors and tender asada. It was too big to finish there. I looked forward to eating the rest reheated at home, and savored it a second time. I took one taco from my father-in-law's plate (with his permission) and it was good too. My wife got a chili relleno burger that was quite tall, and it came with a side of tater tots. Not sure about the theme there, but they were good and the bite of the burger was as well. I recommend, but it's not straight-ahead Mexican. It's jazzy Mexican, so plan accordingly.

Yelp
The food is good, was not a fan of the pasta dish but that was more of a poor choice on my end. The shrimp on the plate were delicious. Everything else that was ordered was really good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The music was a little loud and made it hard to talk to people that were sitting with us. Would definitely try this place again.

Yelp
Delicious food and margaritas!! Chicken enchiladas were very meaty and the watermelon margarita was refreshing.

Yelp
Came for Dinela, I wanted a restaurant that was a michelin star and had no parking issues. It was jam packed so I sat outside. My only complaint is that I didn't receive a bread plate, had to just dip straight in! I asked for half red, half green sauce on the enchiladas. The chef did something different where the tortillas were dipped in red sauce and topped with green. I also noticed I got black beans and white rice which isn't their standard protocol bit they figured out I was vegetarian and wanted me to have a kosher experience. I thought that was so sweet. The host got me water when I was seated and my servers "how are you" was very genuine. I was perfectly fine woth my portion sizes, will be back again another day!
