Festive Italian eatery with over-the-top seasonal decorations and cocktails

"Italian restaurant Amore e Amore in Inman Park is getting their twinkle on until Dec. 24. Under a ceiling covered in multicolored lights and baubles, guests can dig into the regular menu or a special $100 prix fixe menu that includes options like steak in a mushroom brandy sauce. They also have themed cocktails and special nights, when Mr. and Mrs. Cringle visit the dining room." - juli horsford, jacinta howard
"Known for nearly a quarter century now for over-the-top decorations all year round and themes so viral and immersive that Warner Brothers made them cease and desist, it’s no surprise that the season hits straight magic here. Expect appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus nearly every other day and opportunities to write and mail letters to the couple while enjoying a kid-friendly meal for $20. Adults can partake in a special prix fixe, a la carte classics, and themed cocktails in the meantime, with holiday tunes all to tie together the young and young at heart." - Su-Jit Lin
"With a name that literally means more love, it’s no surprise that Amore e Amore in Virginia Highland is doing it big for Valentine’s Day. Their “For Lovers Only” menu is available throughout the month of February and features heart-shaped cheese ravioli (yes, please) and a lamb osso bucco entree. The multi-course meal with a glass of complementary champagne runs $150 per person." - juli horsford
"The snap-swipe-and-scroll crowd knows Amore E Amore for their seasonal decorations, which turn the red sauce restaurant into a campy wonderland. But real ones know this decades-old Inman Park staple for what it really is—a great place to get old-school Italian-American dishes. You’ll barely get to order before waitstaff drop off hot bread with housemade garlic butter. Appreciate that tasty opening act because you’ll need time with the sizable menu. But we’ll help you out. Get the creamy lobster bisque. And if you’re in a sharing mood, the rich, saucy seafood cioppino is big enough for two. photo credit: Caren West PR video credit: Nina Reeder photo credit: @eatingthroughatlanta video credit: Nina Reeder Pause Unmute Food Rundown Free Table Bread The housemade garlic butter easily slides onto this piping hot bread. It’s the kind you have to tear, so be prepared for crispy crust flakes to land everywhere. Maine Lobster Bisque This bisque has a sherry-sweet taste with some nuttiness. A giant lobster tail on top makes the near-$20 price tag easier to stomach. PlayMute video credit: Nina Reeder Classic Caesar Salad The extra dressing delegation will be pleased with this one. It’s weighed down with so much caesar that you worry if the romaine will need some emotional support. Gnocchi Vodka It’s decent gnochhi—not too dense, nor gummy. But it’s just a little too starchy. PlayMute video credit: Nina Reeder World Famous Cioppino Seafood Feast Though the seafood tastes like the frozen bag variety, you get plenty of tender shrimp, squid, clams, and mussels—even some lobster pieces. But the rich, garlicky, buttery red sauce upstages everything in this giant bowl. We'd eat it all on its own. It comes drenched in a dark brown brandy sauce with a big portion of meaty button mushrooms. PlayMute video credit: Nina Reeder" - Nina Reeder
