The Best Restaurants In Flushing - New York - The Infatuation

"This little fluorescent-lit shop has been open since the 1970s, and it has all the hallmarks of a classic pie joint: employees wearing Yankees hats, ceiling fans with dangling strings, and just enough tables to seat a modest birthday party. Their Sicilian slices are pleasantly doughy (kind of like the ones at L&B), and the sandwiches get the job done—but what you really want is a plain cheese slice. The crust is thin and crispy with a little bit of chew, the sauce is thick and not too sweet, and the thick layer of cheese is bright orange with grease. Get a whole pie and split it with some friends in the barebones space, or take your food to go." - carina finn koeppicus, kenny yang, neha talreja, bryan kim, molly fitzpatrick

"Don’t write off the humble strip mall as a destination for great food. From its spot just off the Whitestone Expressway, Amore Pizza serves up classic New York pies. The toppings are simple and classic: expect mushrooms, sausage, and anchovies. Make sure to bring cash to pay for your pie." - Vox Creative

The BBQ pizza is great! I meant to take a pic of the whole thing but we were in a big hurry to eat it lol, it smelled so good

Terrible services not how a calzone is made. And the chicken Philly had almost no chicken 74.00 for nothing. Then had no support to get my money back.

I had an experience bad enough to warrant a review today so I’m leaving one. I’ve had pizza here multiple times before and, although it doesn’t really compare to good or “real” pizza, it is better than most nationwide chain pizza in the states that is. Today I decided to get sandwiches for lunch, I ordered online as usual but when I went to pick it up the order was wrong. In most cases when I have garden on my sandwich that I didn’t really want I typically just pick it off, but you can’t really pick mayo and salad dressing off of a sandwich so I asked for it to be remade. The guy I was talking to seemed to have a problem me wanting the sandwich to be remade correctly and tried to make me take the sandwich as it was but eventually went back when I showed him the receipt which asked for the garden and sauces to be on the side. As he was back there he started a rant to the girl working there thinking that I couldn’t hear him or something. I got home to make the sandwich and the little to-go box had a few huge chunks of brown lettuce, one slice of tomato, and a few slivers of onion. None of which would be enough to cover an entire sub even if I decided to use them. The taste of the subs really was not good. The deli meat they used tasted and looked like that super processed brick meat, had like 2 or 3 slices on half of a multi meat sandwich, and was overall not good. The meat ball sub was just as bad, with what tasted like factory meatballs and canned pasta sauce. The only reason why I choked down half of a sandwich was because I was going to be in a cab for an hour, on a plane for 10, and then a train ride for another two.

They make Italian pretty exclusively to go but it’s really good! The dough they use for their pizza is tastier than your chain outfits like Dominos or Pizza Hut . The crust of chewy and crispy but the undercarriage should be a bit more firmer. The hot subs and dinners are good size and really good as well. Like everything, prices have gone up and this place is no exception. It’s not their fault though. The economy is just awful at the time of this review. Try this place if you are hungry for Italian though.

Little place, Great Taste. I am a pizza lover & I have had many different pizzas from Richmond to Maryland & I have to say this pizza is the best I’ve had, I found it totally by accident and I travel 30 minutes to eat there food. It’s extremely good and very inexpensive. Great deal great meal!

I had the cheesesteak & onion rings. The food was cold & hard. The sub was full of raw onions & hardly any steak. The onion rings were horrible. Never again

Yelp
Good pizza for the area. Very fast even on nights when busy. Stromboli is very good as well as pizza and sides.

Yelp
I gave this place one star because I couldn't give it no stars. This place sucks even for a pizzeria in a county that has little to offer. Pizza not cooked. Chicken wings probably cooked 3 days ago. You would think for a food service business in a locality that doesn't have much to offer by way of fast food or even good food, would do their level best to provide quality food. SMH! Won't be back except to ask for a refund.

Yelp
Nice little mom and pops place. They use good cheese. The bottom crust could be a little more crispier though

Yelp
I really wish I looked up pizza before now, this is really good and fresh. He spun the doe in front of me and shaped it. It's small mom and pop shop, the service is top notch. I felt like I was at someone's house.

Yelp
Growing up in Prince George County there are definitely not a lot (matter fact hardly any) places to choose from when it comes to places to eat. You either have to go a city/county over or eat from one of the typical chains. My family has been buying pizza here for years. I no longer live in the area but when I do come home I make sure my parents grab a pie for me. My favorite is pepperoni and mushroom. My mother or father typically do the ordering but the staff has always been friendly. When it comes to buying pizza this is where we go.

Yelp
I absolutely love coming to Amore! The services are very fast and done within 10-15 mins. My favorite food to get there is the chicken philly. I have not found anyone that can make a chicken philly better than Amore! If you're local or even just stopping by Prince George I highly recommend getting anything from them! They are the best!!

Yelp
Pizza was hot and fresh. The sauce was lacking flavor and the pizza had very little cheese. I find them overrated.

Yelp
It is a small but great local place to get a pizza. They also make really good subs. My favorite is the steak and cheese sub. Everything is fresh and made to order. You should stop by if you find yourself in Prince George County, VA.

Yelp
Best pizza in Prince George hands down!!! Highly recommend we got a large and it was so much me had to take three pieces home for later

Yelp
We have visited Amore twice. the sausage on the pizza was so salty that it made me feel nauseated . Than I tried an Ham and Cheese Sub. Didn't like it. After that I went with the Cheeseburger and fries, The burger was VERY DRY and tasteless and the fries has a weird after taste!

Yelp
We love this place they are great people and the pizza is always amazing! We also love the grilled chicken salads! It's the only place we get pizza from!

Yelp
Horribly over priced. Picked up my order and the high school kid was cutting pizzas with a dirty pizza cutter. I noticed the bottom of the calzone I was picking up was burnt to a crisp when it came out of the oven. So I had to wait for it to be remade while the rest of the order got stone cold. Horrible service and the food was mediocre for that price it should have been a lot better. One star is one too many but you have to select something.
