"Located on Michigan Avenue across from the Art Institute, it’s tempting to write off Amorino as just another tourist trap. It’s constantly mobbed with visitors who stopped in the doorway to take pictures. Plus it’s part of an international chain. But in fact, the beautifully-presented gelato (in the shape of a rose) is very good. Maybe it’s the allure of unusual options like bergamot or mandarin orange and cherry, or the fact that you can get an unlimited number of flavors piled into a single scoop. But it’s mostly just because of their high-quality gelato, which is rich and velvety." - Veda Kilaru

I’m one of the ice cream lovers in the world and when I found this place I said “is a must to try”. I went to this amorino store and the guy that helped me was so nice and did for me a perfect rose. I loved it, but I had to ate it LOL 😂. Super tasty flavors. Super tasty cone. Is a 20/20 for me.

Google
I love the ambiance of these stores. I also really like the new ordering kiosks - it’s more efficient and moves everything faster. My favorites here are mint and chocolate chips, organic chocolate sorbet, coffee, strawberry, raspberry. I also like their crepes and dark chocolate Gianduiotti.

Google
First of all, I’ve never leaved any reviews on google map but this time I have to. I was expecting a gelato flower but just look what I have got! What is this ball right in the center? I’ve looked over gelato flower pictures from Amorino all over the internet but none of them look like what I have got. I thought it was okay before I left the store but turns out that it really MATTERS! This has ruined my mood for the day, I bought it just for the lovely shape!

Linda went above and beyond to make my partners and I experience at amorino a phenomenal one. The service was 100/10. Gelato is delicious! And the macaroons YUM!!! Thank you again Linda :)

Google
The ice cream was so good. We loved the charrys and coffee flavors.

Google
My friend and I stumbled upon a delightful gelato shop that served excellent flavors and refreshing treats that simply melted in the mouth. We had just finished having dim sum nearby and were in search of a dessert shop to cleanse our palates. We decided to try the gelato instead of coffee and were not disappointed. It was truly delicious, and we loved it!

Google
Best gelato I've ever had! I especially like their fruit flavors; blood orange, passion fruit, strawberry. They are so refreshing! I also loved their hazelnut and pistachio flavors. I basically loved everything I tried! You can ask to try as many flavors as you want and you can choose as many as you want for your cone or cup. They also make these cute gelato flowers!

Robbie Boyd

Google
Beautiful clean gelato and sorbet shop! I've had their sorbet before and really enjoy the ability to order multiple flavors on one cone for one fixed price. This time I tried the vegan shake... I chose mango and passion fruit sorbet mixed with oat milk (almond milk was also an option). It was great and the service was lovely.

Yelp
This is the perfect spot for a midday sweet treat when you're craving both macarons and gelato/sorbet. They offer unlimited flavors per cup (even for the smallest size) and have both regular-sized and jumbo-sized gelato-filled macarons. The service was very fast (order at the kiosk if paying with card, order at the counter if paying with cash) and there is seating inside for dine-in. I'll definitely come back to try more flavors when I next have a sweet tooth craving.

Victoria K.

Yelp
Gelato is pretty good and will hit the spot. The ordering was a little confusing as someone who was going to amorino for the first time. You order your gelato on the kiosk-- if you want to try flavors, you just don't input flavors. I decided to just go full speed ahead and not try anything, but someone came in after us and wanted to try some flavors and the employees didn't seem too open to it? So I'm not sure how nice they are about it on a regular basis. I got the chocolate hazelnut, pistachio, and the cream and black cherries. Chocolate hazelnut and pistachio stuck out to me much more than the cream and black cherries! I like the idea of including a macaron with the gelato, but y'all. Don't get the macaron. This macaron was the soggiest thing I've ever put in my mouth. It was actually crazy how quickly it folded when I bit into it. Literally not at all the texture that you hope for from a macaron, and I still shudder at the thought.

Evelyn F.

Yelp
Pretty disappointing gelato - I got the raspberry sorbet, tiramisu and mint chocolate chip - the raspberry was good, strong raspberry flavor; the tiramisu tasted artificial, and the mint chip felt watered down and the chocolate didn't seem high quality. Definitely not the choice when there are nearby gelato and ice cream shops

Shawn C.

Yelp
I may not eat gelato frequently, but my goodness...if every time I did it tasted like the gelato at Amorino, it could be a real problem. On a summer evening, the glowing lights and bustle of customers drew me in. I had no plans on getting gelato on my walk home, but everything about the shop had allure, including the sweet aroma in the air. I then saw how beautiful the scoops were and eagerly awaited my small cone. I ordered a classic flavor (pistachio) and adored how lovely it looked very briefly before the summer heat accelerated it's meltdown. All good though, because every bit of that cone was perfection and left me wondering why I rarely ever crave gelato! It was really the perfect scoop on the perfect summer evening. Next time I'm nearby, I'll definitely be sure to run it back!

Leilani S.

Yelp
There's some seating inside but not a lot Workers are nice and the dessert is so cute! The ordering is sooo confusing. You order in the tablet then bring your ticket to the workers. There isn't clear signs telling you that. Also the tablets are right at the door so it gets hectic. You can also order at the register too. It's a mess. The gelato itself was decent! Good flavors and doesn't taste artificial. Mint was tasty and tasted fresh Tiramisu was disappointing, no flavor Salted caramel was my favorite Coffee was bitter and very strong

Avery D.

Yelp
I ordered the orange & cinnamon hot chocolate and it was delicious! Love the combination of orange with chocolate and it was very tasty. $6 for a small cup. My friend got the regular hot chocolate and it was so thick it was more like pudding. Very weird. Would not recommend. It was so odd because mine was so different. Hers wasn't even really drinkable. Nice worker and it wasn't too busy so we were able to sit and enjoy it inside.

Brent S.

Yelp
Great gelato and service. Amber is a wonderful team member. Love the inimitable flavor!

Vanessa A.

Yelp
HOT CHOCOLATE REVIEW I ordered a hot chocolate with whipped cream. The whipped cream was delicious!!! It was probably the best part. One third of the cup was whipped cream though so it was hard to enjoy the hot chocolate until I scooped out the whipped cream. I found the hot chocolate to be more like pudding. I wasn't a fan of the consistency. It was very creamy, not the rich.

Yelp
My friends and I came for a late night treat so definitely appreciate that they close late. There's a good selection of sizes, with and without the cone and they're especially known for making a rose out of the gelato so it makes for a cute pic. You order at the cashier and they hand you a number which they will call out when it's your turn to choose your flavors. It's a pretty good system that allowed the line to move smoothly. I'm an indecisive person so with their abundance of flavors, I had trouble deciding what I wanted. Usually I would try a few that I was interested in before making my final selection but they actually stopped letting customers taste test that evening. Luckily, they allow you to choose as many flavors as you want so I ended up getting a bunch since I couldn't taste them beforehand and it was my way of trying all the ones I was interested in. It didn't come out so pretty but the staff member tried his best to squeeze them all in. As for the gelato itself, flavors were tasty and stood out for what they were. The fruity ones were refreshing and very light. A great option for a sweet treat, especially for a hot day.

Violet B.

Yelp
Get in line first and pay for your ice/gelato. Then they'll call your number and get your selections. If you pay like 20cents more, they make it look like a rose! I will definitely try that next time!

Mike H.

Yelp
Very good gelato that I'd get again. My favorite was the tiramisu gelato, but I also liked the Amorino chocolate. They make you choose a size to lock in your purchase before sampling flavors. I got a small cup ($5.85) with half tiramisu and half Amorino chocolate. The small was plenty for one serving. I'd get the tiramisu again.

Burt L.

Yelp
Service and variety of flavors are prime. Taste and feel of these gelatos in my mouth are reminiscent of the gelato I had in Rome. Delicious!

Thea P.

Yelp
A wonderful indulgence on a balmy day or post Lincoln-Center show. They're cool about samples--which is good because all the flavors look and sound delicious and you'll be hard-pressed to land on just one. Convenient ordering pads greet you immediately upon the double-door entry. Seating is limited to five bar stools and a three-seat cafe table inside, so take your treat to one of the five outdoor tables. Or better yet, the steps or fountain at Lincoln Center, or Central Park 1.5 blocks away. The Alphonse mango was transcendent and my toddler loved the blood orange. The lime basil was a touch too tart for my liking, but sour fans might fall in love.

Abby C.

Yelp
The petals of the gelato looked terrible; they were pretty much falling off my cone and dripping everywhere. They forgot to add my macaron. My bf found a piece of plastic in his gelato. I found hair/fiber in mine. Don't come here, nothing like the ones in Europe.

Natt A.

Yelp
Delicious gelato! I like that you can get a smaller size and split the scoop as well to try two different flavors. I've been here before and I like the option of adding a macaroon on top also but I decided to skip it this day and get a double espresso on the side instead. Very creamy gelato with lots of flavor options! There are several locations as well (even across the world) :)

Mariah A.

Yelp
The service here was literally 10/10. I literally love the fact that you can do unlimited ice cream flavors! The ice cream was super rich and creamy. Some of the best I've had in a while Will definitely be coming back asap

Alex L.

Yelp
A solid gelato franchise with good consistency. It can feel a little overwhelming with the number of flavors available, so I'd recommend going during non-peak hours unless you know what you want. I didn't get it this time, but the 'flower' they make on the cone is pretty nice. Nicely satisfies my gelato cravings whenever they come up.

Chivonne L.

Yelp
I found Amorino Gelato while trying to find something to eat. We were both full but decided to backtrack as it was not overly crowded. This place did not disappoint--tons of savory and fruity flavors. The ordering process is not overly complicated as everything is conducted through the kiosk. We each got a cup with two flavors, which was more than enough. Our chosen flavors were delicious. I will definitely return.

Karel F.

Yelp
This place doesn't have a clue. Been here like 10 times. I live around the corner. The ice cream is very good. The service it atrociously bad. Ans remember this is after 10 times going there and taking the time for a review. No one wants to wait on you. And they are so so overstated it ain't funny. Young kids that do not have a clue. I bet if they got a % of the ice cream they may work a bit harder. They just stand there. Don't take your order and chat w each other or on cell phones. No wonder places go out of business. Way over staffed and they just stand around. Bad formula. Places like this NEED to go out of business. Avoid.

Jim C.

Yelp
There are several things that I love about this place: * It's open late, which makes for a dessert opportunity after seeing a Broadway show. * The gelato is good, and they pay a lot of attention to the presentation, often crafting rose petal designs on cones. * You can mix flavors pretty much as desired. * The gourmet cup is a pretty huge portion with crunchy chocolate things separating the vanilla and caramel. * Cherry sorbet! I think this is the first gelato place on the planet I've seen that has cherry sorbet. (Not just mango, orange, lime and lemon, but *cherry*.) The drawback is it's not a place you want to be as school lets out, especially if you don't absolutely adore everyone else's kids and pets demonstrating Brownian motion. (And if that's not your gig, cough, come back later and it'll be fine.)

Diana B.

Yelp
Many DELICIOUS flavors of sorbets and gelati: lime with basil, pistachio, etc., etc. Small place with few seats. Can get a bit noisy. $5.00- something for a single cup, which is plenty. You can get 3 flavors in one cup.

Paul P.

Yelp
My girlfriend loves gelato! However she found that the gelato she tasted (coffee and vanilla) was not as creamy but runnier than she had imagined. What makes this place great is the atmosphere and the customer service. They are attentive and welcoming. Price is similar to other ice cream and desserts in nyc (expensive). A nice clean and welcoming shop. Three for me is just an average shop! Nothing crazy nothing bad!

Maddison N.

Yelp
YUMMM!!!!!! This gelato was fantastic!! We only ordered one scoop but two half scoops of gelato but got this much!! I love this place so much! The gelato is not only adorable and absolutely Instagram worthy, but it also tastes so good! I think they had about 20 flavors, some vegan options too!!

Diondra B.

Yelp
Was craving gelato so tried this place. The servers were super friendly. And the ice cream and macarons were good as usual.

JP P.

Yelp
Always a great spot to get some dessert after having lunch or dinner in the surrounding area. SO and I share the mango and coffee gelatos. Just delicious!

Kayla B.

Yelp
This place is amazing! There's truly something for everyone. We tried the classic cup with blueberry cheesecake and hazelnut flavors. I was afraid the flavors would clash but they were amazing together. It's because none of the flavors are too sweet so any of them would complement each other well. Perfect summer treat on a hot hot day!

Jerome G.

Yelp
Best Ice-cream! Best Service! A Must Try! Try the Lime Basil Gelato!!!! (On a cone)!

Sean E.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars to this place I would. We live in the neighborhood but somehow never got a change to try this place. So we went tonight. I decided on my flavor and went to the "person" working there to order it. I told her the cup size, and started with my flavors. Then she screams at me that is ONLY take the order for the cup zise but NOT the flavor. So I think ok, I guess I go to the second person after to tell the flavors for my gelato and my macaroon. After she billed me, she overheard me talking to my partner I want macaroon too and tells me I had to order it upfront. So I tell her "well you told me you only take cup sizes, so I though I need to tell my macaroon order to the other person", on which she AGAIN raises her voice at me telling me that I she takes cup size AND macaroon order, which she DIDN'T tell me initially. After the whole service became unpleasant, I just told her I don't need to put up at her raising her voice at me and that kind of attitude so we stopped the order and just left, asshe continued laughing as we were leaving. I will NOT be putting up with this kind of treatment. Why would I give her my $10 for gelato I can get in million other places in In UWS. Hiring people at this place should really do psychological evaluation of their employees, as people in out neighborhood don't put up with this type of behavior. I don't know what her problems are, if she is homophobic or has some personal self esteem issues, but If you ever go to this place, make sure you don't deal with this girl on the photo, as she obviously has some mental issues. Or maybe this whole store is anti-gay in the first place. I know we won't be coming back every again.

Anna K.

Yelp
This restaurant has gorgeous presentation and gorgeous gelato flavors, however, you should really consider who you are hiring. My husband asked a simple question, "can we try a flavor? Lime basil sounds great but I want to make sure I like it," and the girl at the counter responded "you have to order," which doesn't really clarify the question, so I asked "just to clarify, can we then sample a flavor?" (After ordering). She then rolled her eyes and with an attitude said, loudly, "you have to ORDER FIRST." I understand that there may be a rule that you have to place an order before asking for a sample, but the attitude was wholly uncalled for and rude. We walked out.

Teresa C.

Yelp
Rose Gelato with Mango, Pistachio, Tiramisu, Grapefruit, Refreshing Jasmin flavors. The colors make a great photo but I don't really recommend more than 3 flavors or you should choose flavors that compliment each other. The Tiramisu or Coffee Flavor was over powering and it kind of didn't mesh well with the sorbet but other than that the gelato was great. You also have to eat this fast as it melts pretty quickly in the summer heat. There are seats outside. There are some seats with a cover up top which was great as it started to drizzle/rain so we moved to the seats inside.

Angela L.

Yelp
Food Chocolate ice cream - yummy on a tiny cone shaped into a flower Service Order at counter. Actually opened later, past 9:30p! When everywhere else was closed Atmosphere Like a French cafe, some small seating which is perfect

Joanne U.

Yelp
Dropped by yesterday to basically just get something nice for dessert. Haven't had Amorino in like forever and the last time was in Greenwich Village pre-pandemic so this was also my first time to come in to the UWS location. First and foremost, such excellent service! Linda was the one manning the store and was super nice and warm. I got a pint to go ($17) and she told me I could actually do 4 flavors in there so did Nocciola, Stracciatella, Pistachio and Caramel with Sea Salt. Even threw in a bit of Dulce de Leche for my husband because I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted Caramel or Dulce de Leche. Also offered the 2 free cones that can come with it, things I wouldn't even have known but she was so nice and proactive to share this. Overall such a wonderful experience. Thanks so much Linda! Will be back! =)

Latrice S.

Yelp
Came here for the affogato and I would say this place is pretty good. They had a nice selection of gelatos and the espresso used for the affogato taste a little burnt so that wasn't great. Service was decent but there is minimal seating inside so keep that in mind if you are looking for a place to sit down and enjoy your treat!

Danielle U.

Yelp
It is the best yogurt in the whole entire world, and they make it a shape of a flower. It is handmade and very special. Not to miss. - Maddie I'm gonna assign

Anonymous P.

Yelp
OMG AMORINO IS SLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE JOHN KOUKA TEAM ALL THOUGHT AMORINO WAS ALPHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so superior to the Gelato Factory which is awful! Your ice cream is served in a rose shape. GO THERE now. All I can say is also if you don't like it, you can go a few blocks down and there is a new Gelato shop opening in a few weeks I think. All the flavors are to soothe your mouth between the sorbet (PASSION FRUIT AND LIME BASIL RECOMMENDED). We have repeatedly been here. So if you ever see our team in our T-Shirts enjoying the true joy at Amorino please say hi and let us know if our reviews are helping BESTIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harold P.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with the vanilla or the hazelnut chocolate gelato. The service order is a bit confusing unless you see the sign. Pay first based on the size you want before lining up to sample any flavors and choose the gelato that you want.

Harrison G.

Yelp
I used to love this place but now they force you to pre-order your ice cream, and the staff have no patience if you don't want to use their kiosk. Really sad

Iris F.

Yelp
Yummmm... pricey but delicious gelato. I'd highly recommend the tiramisu, it's one of the best gelatos I've ever had. Also tried blueberry cheesecake and pistachio gelato and they were okay.

Amanpreet K.

Yelp
Yum!! Stopped by on a whim post dinner with a few friends and we all decided to get hot chocolate and macarons. Across all the flavors we tried, the vanilla was my favorite - the gelato in the middle is a nice touch. They also have several flavors for hot chocolate and I got the hazelnut. Very creamy and delicious. Great way to spend some time with friends on a cold Sunday evening!

Cheryl P.

Yelp
One of my absolute favorite spots to get dessert on the UWS! Love how fresh and diverse the flavors offered here are! Everything is gluten-free and I decided to split a large cup with a friend (came out to be about $8.50). Once you decide on a size, you're allowed to select as many flavors as you want to try. My friend and I settled on blood orange and ginger, coffee, coconut, and a limited edition flavor called "amarenada" which had a cream base and cherries mixed in. The amarenada and coconut flavors were probably my favorite, but all of them were honestly amazing and I'm already looking forward to the next time I visit to try more of their many, many flavors. The staff were so friendly and even though the gelato is a little bit on the pricier side, I think it's definitely worth it to indulge once in a while.

Sandy D.

Yelp
After a crazy hot day, gelato sounds about right. Fortunately, they were open with indoor seating and air conditioning! The music, which was playing 2007-2009's music made the ambiance all the more relaxing amidst the hustle and bustle of people ordering. The seats are luckily on the other end, so you won't be in contact with any customers. The staff are sweet to bring the gelatos to you. Although they messed up our order, and I was taken aback by how they aggresively shoved the wrong gelato cups down the trash, they gave us a free gelato! I ordered a Classic in a Cup ($6.45), which was the same price as cone. My flavors were Mango, Jasmine, Yogurt, and Lemon. You can tell I was feeling the SOUR on a hot day. The Mango is my favorite. You can't go wrong with this tropical flavor, and it had the perfect quality taste. All the flavors were of quality, actually. I wasn't too big a fan of the Yogurt, as it tasted more like vanilla and less sour than I had intended. The Lemon was super tart, which I enjoyed. The Jasmine, which I thought would taste florally, might actually just be a mix of fruity flavors, with Jasmine as the name for it. Disappointing, but it wasn't too bad! It was like a more subtle lemon. I always trust this place for their gelatos. Their petals on a cone are also super picture worthy.

A B.

Yelp
The ice cream is fine, but the service is definitely European...there were 3 ppl working servicing 3 orders while I was there, it took them 10 minutes! For ice cream and coffees...they literally give out deli counter order number tickets with three ppl standing there...

Marco C.

Yelp
Nice flavors. Service was just ok. Prices are a bit high for what you get here. We arrived relatively late so some of the tastes were out

J L.

Yelp
Yum. Big time yum. Yelp wants me to add more details, but all I want to say is... yum.

Ismael V.

Yelp
Best ice cream ever in New York City! Very professional and STAFF, all wonderful especially manager and supervisor always friendly and always in positive spirits. They know all there everyday customers so it's an in and out in experience and have outside seats and indoor seats to relax and enjoy the wonderful ice cream

Adele P.

Yelp
Nice, lovely little place. I've been to other Amorino outlets and this one was very nice. Staff were attentive and made a lovely cappuccino. We stopped in for a cappuccino and a macaron while waiting for my daughter. My friend had a pistachio macaron, I had chocolate. The place was delightful except for the ill-behaved little kids whose parents were far too lenient to either get them to behave or remove them. I have kids, I get it, everyone wants some time out to enjoy themselves, but when your little goblins are ruining it for everyone else, you suck at parenting. I have to give the staff major credit for handling it so well and cleaning up after the hurricane. I wish them an easier new year with lots of pleasant patrons who tip well. So yes, the coffee and the macarons were delightful, the bathroom was clean, and the place was lovely. I'll get gelato next time I'm there.

Marie V.

Yelp
Delicious gelato. Has not disappointed yet. I prefer Amorino Gelato to Venchi. Hazelnut is great.

Zoe H.

Yelp
I got a milkshake with lime and coconut (yes, sing the song lol) and it was so good that I didn't want it to end. Perfect for these HOT days New York has been having! It made me forget that I was sweating, hot, and totally tired after being outside for just a couple minutes. Thank you!
