"Amtrak Guest Rewards members, first-class Acela and sleeper passengers will have access to the new Metropolitan lounge housed inside the building, too. The lounge is outfitted with a balcony with tables and chairs overlooking the train hall, quiet space, a room for families with small children, a nursing mothers' room, and gender neutral restrooms."

"Inside the new Metropolitan Lounge, located in the new Moynihan Train Hall across from Penn Station, there will be updated seating with USB ports and plenty of outlets, a business center for those looking to sneak in a last- minute call, and dedicated customer service agents so you don't have to join the plebes if something goes wrong. Even better? Passengers will also get priority boarding, and escorted to the train early. While we don't have specifics about what will be served, food and drink-wise, there will be a 'rotating selection of hot and cold food items' (an improvement on the current chips and pastries) and booze in the new lounge, Amtrak says. Set 20 feet above the central hall, the premium lounge also gives you a prime people-watching spot."

Over the last few months I have been taking a number of trips via Amtrak out of NYC. As a result of all those trips I recently achieved a status level that gave me access to the Amtrak Metropolitan Lounge In Moynihan Train Hall. To enter the lounge you have to go up a set of escalators that are on the 31 street side of the hall. The lounge has a great view as it overlooks the hall which is architecturally stunning. The staff in the lounge are very friendly and the lounge is rather large with lots of seating inside and on a balcony that overlooks the train hall. I have been to the lounge in the morning and late evening. It has always been very well staffed and there were a lot of free food, drink and snack options. There is also a bar serving wine, beer and alcohol at a cost. The free snacks and drinks include ice tea, infused water, coffee, bottled soda, potato chips, popcorn and a variety of other snacks. The food options seem to vary based on the time of day but they always seem to have a few tasty options. There are plenty of areas to charge and work. Overall I would say that the experience was on par with some of the airline lounges that I have had the opportunity to experience. If you have Amtrak status I would definitely say that you should take advantage of the lounge if for nothing less than getting away from the crowd.

Went to board the Amtrak northeast regional to Newyork. For ticketed passengers they have a convenient waiting lounge. Also plenty of shops to purchase food coffee and walgreens to get last minute medication. From here you can also connect for rides to Jfk Lga and Ewr Airports. Resr room facilities and local metro easily accessible through inside via Penn Station.

The Metropolitan Lounge at Mountain Train Hall is a terrific start to a trip if you have the time. First Class passengers have free access to the lounge; or, if you have the Amtrak credit card, free passes are available as well. You can also buy a day pass for $50. However you access it, the lounge is well worth your time/money. The lounge has plenty of space to stretch out, sit down and relax, and just hang out before your train leaves. The bathrooms are immaculate, and there's even a balcony that overlooks the main train hall. The lounge is also stocked with plenty of food options and attendance to help you with that as well.. everything is included, so don't be shy about asking for what you want. We were there during early morning There are hot and cold sandwiches, oal meal, boiled eggs, fruit and yogurt parfaits, Kind bars, assorted chips, croissants, unlimited coffee and tea, water, OJ, cranberry juice, and more. if you are wondering if the Metropolitan Lounge is worth it, the answer is yes.

Nice lounge if you have the means to access it, food is decent! Clean places to sit and relax before your rail trip, no restriction on time as long as you have a ticket for the day! Good view overlooking the station from the mezzanine.

Finally a worthy lounge within the Amtrak system. Still doesn’t feel real. Nestled within the beautiful Moynihan Train Hall, the Amtrak Metropolitan lounge offers a uniquely New York experience of grandeur and class. The food selections are decent enough and there is a lovely bar as well. Do yourself a favor and step onto the overhang that overlooks the train hall and take in the views.

It is nice to see this station completed. It is huge and very impressive. I arrived early in the morning, and the ceiling of the station was lit reddish pink. It was beautiful to see. The station itself was clean and had a lot of options for grabbing a quick bite or a sit down. I felt safe seeing all the officers and train personnel around the station. The train ride was perfect! The views while riding were spectacular!!!

All Amtrak stations are well maintained with a few exceptions. NY Penn Amtrak station is very well maintained and the ambience is really good. Love Amtrak stations in general.
