Where to Drink Guinness in Boston This Holiday Season | Eater

"Pronounced “on shibeen,” this neighborhood bar in Cambridge’s Inman Square is newer to the Boston Irish pub scene, but you’d never guess it from the snug atmosphere and the reliable crowd of local regulars. An extensive whiskey menu with 100-plus offerings is a highlight here, but An Sibin also takes Guinness seriously. Catch up with friends over brunch, including what might be one of the best Irish breakfasts in town." - Molly McDonough

Great neighborhood Irish bar. Friendly personable staff and the fries are good, but haven’t eaten anything else here. Plenty of whiskey to choose from but I stuck with Guinness.

Visited this cool bar with friends to kick off our Boston visit after coming up on the train. Appreciated the flexibility in the whiskey flights, and the cocktails were strong. I think we just came on the wrong night, as the DJ was impressively loud and set up right next to the bar so we couldn't hear each other. Would come back on a chiller evening.

If you’re asking yourself “Why An Sibin?” You should yourself “Why not An Sibin?” The drinks are really good and prices are better than most ($12 for an old fashioned), the bartender is the best, and the atmosphere is top notch. You will be back for more I promise. And ask for Dottie. If you’re lucky, you’ll see her. ;) And the whiskey selections are supreme. Update 10/17/2024: They have a Guinness Old Fashioned. Whiskey, Guinness, chocolate and cherry. Where have you been all my life?!? It’s a sweet and cozy drink. Delicious for fall/winter.

Awesome brunch/lunch at An Sibin today! This is a go to bar for me- great people, service, and vibes plus a delicious rotation of pop up kitchens and amazing drinks all around. Sibin makes the best Bloody Mary - seriously the best I’ve ever had. Today’s pop up was Breakfast Ninjas - and the food was great! I can’t wait to come back next time and try more of their menu- highly recommend the shrimp and grits!

I loved the relaxed and cozy feel this small bar provided. I would definitely go back the next time I'm in town.

Google
Terrible place with rude server. Made us switch tables when we said we would have a larger party beforehand. Server also bent my ID. Location was empty for a reason, I don’t recommend going.

Sarah (Spelling?) Was amazing and made our experience feel super involved and inviting. This place was exactly what we needed and will now become regulars.

Yelp
My take-aways from my first visit to An Sibin were: (1) If I lived locally, I'd be here a lot, (2) Their prices for whiskey pours are really quite good, and (3) It felt like Dottie was letting me know that I wasn't giving her enough attention. This place feels like it could be "The 'Cheers' of Whiskey Bars" with its neighborly and casual feel. Food choices are limited but obviously good, the beers are popular, but I could not get over the prices for the 1 and 2 oz. pours. A limited number of flights are available too, 1 each per whiskey, rye, bourbon, and scotch, four specific 1oz. pours each for $15. The shot glasses were a little mis-matched, but they definitely had the same amount in each. It might not be the easiest place to get to by car or by T, especially during busy hours, but it's definitely worth it.

Yelp
Oh how lucky we are. Oh how lucky we are to have a cool place like Anne Sib-in (I KNOW IT'S ANH SHEBEEN ). so many wonderful whiskies, great fries. I mean these are extra special fries with seasonings and special mayo. The kind of place you make a second move of the night. Great bartenders.

Yelp
Great selection & service! Come to see Dottie!! She's the best. We came by on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded. Dottie was hanging at the bar and enjoyed some pats. We ended up grabbing the corner booth and had apps as well as drink combos. Great deal and very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Glad to see this location once again home to a great restaurant. It's a beautiful, homey place, with a little dining room curled around the bar. The selection of drinks looks good, and the food is beautifully done. Corned beef Benedict was a phenomenal brunch, with perfectly-cooked eggs, potatoes with pepper and onion, and delicious slices of corned beef. Just look at it!

Yelp
Love this place. If you are huge into whiskey, make sure to try their whiskey club. They have a bar dog here, Dottie, who is the kindest. I've been coming here weekly and bring my coworkers here all the time. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I have been meeting a group of friends on Monday nights for dinner and drinks the past few weeks here. We ALL love to have our weekly get togethers at An Sibin! The atmosphere, the service, the food, and the drinks are all top-notch! I highly recommend the Sibin Soda, off their signature cocktail menu. I can't pick a favorite food item off the menu because they are ALL SO GOOD. But I can recommend the food menu items I have enjoyed the most so far. - French onion soup - Beet salad - Buffalo tenders - Chicken sandwich There is a pork chop dinner with my name on it in the very near future :) And if you're a dog person, like me, you'll love to meet the hostess. Just ask for Dottie. ;) #whiskeybar #foodiedestination #dogloverswelcome

Yelp
Great new spot in Inman square! Cozy atmosphere. We got the fried chicken sandwich, smash burger and special margarita (avocado, mango and cilantro). Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
Was directed to An Sibin to watch Game 7 of the Celtics game when the pub across the street was at capacity. The vibes are shabby-chic as it's technically a whiskey bar. It was packed! Thankfully they had 3-4 televisions showing the game. I felt bad as there was only ONE bartender the entire night. He was taking drink orders, food orders, closing out tabs, etc. nonstop. I had a Guinness (great pour) and a Blueberry beer from a local brewery in Quincy! Other than having to shove through a crowd of people who already have drinks to get the attention of the singular bartender - the experience was great! Would love to return here on a not-so-busy night.

Yelp
What a wonderful place. A cozy pub with good food and great drinks. Plus, the owners are kind, fun and so hospitable! I will definitely be becoming a regular!

Yelp
You can't go wrong dropping in for a beer at An Sibin. Very welcoming, and great service. Their Guinness is one of the best examples of Guinness in the Boston area. I haven't counted, but there looks to be a solid 150-ish whiskeys, bourbons, Irish whiskey's and Scotch's to get into. The pub is a perfect size and thank God, is not one of these Quincy Market, "kiss me I'm Irish" places. Very civilized, very chill, and I plan to retire here one day.

Yelp
Stopped in for a pint on a cold winter day! Cozy place, warm fireplace and the decor is lovely. Both owners on the premises- Friendly and attentive. Parking on street and a nice little menu- also brunch on sundays!! We will be back.

Yelp
My friends and I went to this place and I have to tell you the food was fresh and amazing, she got a burger with real cheese and we ordered the calamari that was enough for two or three people. The French onion soup is to die for and the black decor and ambiance is something different that Cambridge needs. The star of the night was Dottie the bulldog who looks like she is making sure that everyone is happy. It is a very mellow yet sophisticated place. I witnessed other dishes that were perfection. It is a whiskey bar but it is also a place where one can relax and hide from the hustle and bustle of the city. Well done. I would give 5 stars but nothing is perfect. The blind waitress was also amazing as well very cordial and accommodating.

Yelp
My new favorite place for a great Guinness and whiskey. Food is excellent and the owners are fantastic.

Yelp
A welcome addition to Inman square. The whiskey list is extensive and diverse, the menu is delicious - and gluten-free, which is a godsend to my partner. The atmosphere is lively and fun and they pour a good Guinness. A very fine whiskey bar.

Yelp
Had a wonderful smash burger here and the space has a welcoming warm feel to it. It is a fantastic addition to the Cambridge/ Inman Square neighborhood! The owner and it's staff add to the charm of the space.

Yelp
Great foods, every dish just right with good presentation. The place is very cozy and great atmosphere. The play lists is very enjoyable with right volume that we can still have nice conversations. Definitely want to comeback.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I popped in here on our way to another bar for the England v France World Cup Match. We only got beers, but I will absolutely be coming back to try some food and cocktails. The environment is so cozy and homey - I loved the seasonal throw pillows and Christmas decor with the beautiful green walls and gold ceiling. The one bartender was very busy with a big crowd for the game, but he was still able to be attentive and great! I can't wait to go back.
