This was my first time coming here, when I tell you this is definitely worth the drive. We came all the way from South Carolina. This is by far the best sushi, seafood and drinks I’ve had in a very long time. I will definitely be back! Everything was definitely cooked to perfection, with the right amount of seasoning. Thank you Micheal for making our experience great, our serve was so sweet as well.

Google
If you enjoy sushi, Anchor Sushi Bar is a fantastic spot!! The restaurant is clean, well designed and the staff is very helpful and friendly! Jose helped my wife and I at the bar with cocktails and apps + signature sushi rolls and wine. The specialty rolls are unique and have great taste with lots of different flavors, using very fresh seafood and ingredients. Definitely try their Anchor Roll if you like citrus and cilantro. The Best Roll - is also excellent! If you're in the mood for some spice, the Spicy Sinatra Roll is great!! No matter what you order, you will be happy here. Can't wait to go back again!

I can’t think of a better lunch than fresh Sushi on a hot day☀️ As you can see, when I visited at 1pm in the afternoon on a weekday it was empty. After enjoying this delicious meal I’m confused why! Trust me, it’s worth braving the heat of the rolls and service here at Anchor. Also, what an adorable name! I definitely felt the marine aesthetic

Google
This was a great experience. Good vibes, good food, good service! Loved the tuna crispy rice, the lobster pot stickers, the waygu fried rice, and the sunset roll! Everything was delicious. I will be returning.

Google
Different than a typical sushi place but so incredible!! Andrew our server needs a raise, he’s very knowledgeable. We came and sat outside in the 95 degree heat but the shade, fans, and misters made it very comfortable!

Google
Came in on a Wednesday night, was super busy but got sat fast with a reservation. The host Ava was super friendly and welcoming! The star of the night was the wagyu dumplings AND our server Maddy, who made excellent recommendations and made a night out so fun. Definitely make the trip to Anchor, and ask for Maddy if you can!

We had an incredible experience thanks to one of the best servers we’ve ever had. She first seated us outside, but when it started raining, she quickly moved us inside without hesitation. There was only one table that could fit our group of six, and she made it happen with no fuss. Her service was impressively fast, and her attitude remained warm, friendly, and professional the entire evening. We ended the night with a great dinner and left feeling genuinely taken care of. Truly one of the most seamless and enjoyable dining experiences we’ve had.

Google
Delicious meal and perfect night to eat on the patio. We started with the steak dumplings, different but good and chicken fried rice that had a great spice to it. I got the fish tacos for the salad and I can already tell the side salad is my newest obsession. The taco was massive, could barely finish 1/2. Got a smattering of rolls that were tasty. The only thing that was meh was the steak noodles. Cocktails were lovely and overall fantastic night. I will be back!

Yelp
We had a great time at Anchor Bar. We started off with the Edamame which was well seasoned and tasted great. We then got the crispy chicken bao buns which were my favorite part of the meal. The glaze on the chicken was incredible. Next, we got two speciality rolls- the baked crab and the best roll. Both were excellent and I would recommend them again. Lastly, the ambiance was good inside the restaurant and their outdoor patio will be perfect for cooler weather. Overall, we would definitely come back here.

Yelp
Ah, the Vandelay Hospitality Group... building facsimile's of the restaurants originally created by the Hillstone Group. Though I can't blame them, Hillstone definitely sets the standard. Brentwood is ok, as is Hudson House. One thing Vandelay can't seem to match is the level of service their servers provide. Anchor Sushi just completely misses the mark. The cocktails were great and the restaurant itself is beautiful, but the service was slow and the sushi was just... fine. I dunno. Blah. The Knox Roll is supposed to have some seared salmon on top, but the salmon on ours was barely kissed by any type of heating element. The Thai Tuna roll, having been told that it's basically the Thai Tuna roll R&D used to carry was pretty bland. I'm glad I finally got to try this place. It was still a successful date night for my wife and I, but we left quite disappointed in the food.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I typically go to the Preston Hollow location - but we do love this location as well, especially for takeout. The food is always incredible. Sushi is amazing. Drinks are delicious. The vibe is always upbeat and fun. The service is always impeccable. Great value for a high quality dining experience in my opinion. We will continue to come back & order takeout!

Yelp
Up scale sushi fusion, all menu we tried are excellent, Sea-bass is very fresh and cooked to perfect temperature. Service is also very good, Destini gave us wonderful smile and suggestions. The place is small, but cozy and look up scale, we love it.

Yelp
Henry at the host stand was absolutely wonderful!!! We called to place an online order and had several issues until Henry answered and jumped right in to help. He was so kind and helpful!

Yelp
6 months later I was finally able to visit in person. Cute corner location. The inside is dark and cozy. Reminiscent of maybe a boat house. I'm not sure if something happened before I came but the staff seemed to be stressed. No one really smiled. Just all going through the motions. My server seemed to be new. Not very knowledgeable about the menu but she was polite and attentive and showed a lot of effort. Now onto the food.... Tuna crispy rice 3/10 - this app has 3 pieces. The tuna was extreme soft. Seemed to be minced but hard to tell. There were far too many sauces and too much on this app. You couldn't really taste the fish. Crispy chicken bao 5/10 - the chicken was crispy, tempura fried. Texture and look was more beer battered than tempura but the taste was ok. Uni nigiri 0/10 - Uni had no texture. It was extremely soft almost melted and had heavy fish/metal after taste. I told the server and they removed the dish. Shoyu pork ramen 0/10 - the broth was mildly flavored. The noodles had an off gummy texture that stuck to our teeth. We expected pork belly or sliced fresh pork but instead received a cut up patty as the pork that also had no flavor. Toro sashimi 0/10 - the toro placed in front of me was not fresh/quality. It was spongy and greyish brown. I didn't taste it. The manager removed it and insisted the fish was cut fresh to order although it was spongy and brown. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of food and my overall visit. Although I had a previous a good experience I wouldn't visit a 3rd time.

Yelp
We got drawn to this restaurant because of their well-known crispy rice appetizer! The restaurant is located in the Knox-Henderson area, they have both outdoor and indoor seating (incl. bar). It can definitely get busy so plan ahead or you can try to get bar seating. We tried the lychee martini, which they're famous for, and Okinawa sour cocktail. The drinks were excellent, pair perfectly with our sushi orders. We obv ordered the crispy rice, which was really good, great for sharing. Also ordered the Chef's Pressed roll. Love the wasabi cream dressing. Overall it was a great snack, would love to return to try more dishes!

Yelp
A very scene-y place to be at the corner in Knox Henderson area. cute outdoor patio and has a few seats inside and bar seating available. We came on a Friday night and it ended up being fairly busy with an hour and a half wait to sit outside or inside at a table so we opted for the bar instead. They do have a happy hour from 4-6 pm for half price martinis and crispy rice. We ordered the crunchy rice which was delicious and comes with 3 pieces. We also ordered 2 martinis which were delicious. Would definitely come back to grab a drink and a bite or two!

Yelp
I do enjoy Anchor Bar. It's hard to find good quality sushi these days and I love the food. The Salmon Crispy Rice and toro sashimi are favs. I do appreciate that you can get stuffed if you'd like. The Baked Crab Dynamic roll is very filling, also the Tokyo Cheeseburger will do the trick. The turn over of staff is quite frequent so service is not always the best. I really want to love Chef's Pressed but it tastes like yesterday.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came in to order some fresh nigiri and crispy pressed rice. Upon arrival we were greeted by almost everybody. The welcoming and eager ambiance made the visit entirely that much better. The place is very James Bond vibe and 70s yacht style vibe. The interior is a neutral and chic, with a classic/timeless elegant style. Absolutely stunning and the oldies jams bring me back to a classic disco film (since I wasn't born in that decade lol) We ordered a few martinis (it's happy hour on Saturday's and that's close to UNHEARD of, so we took the necessary advantage). The bar experts are knowledgeable and also, personable which made the experience of sitting at the bar that much more enjoyable. We started with spicy tuna crispy rice and chicken boa buns. The crispy rice was absolutely mouth watering and filling *at least for me*. Full of flavor and the presentation was absolutely stunning. The boa buns were EXCEPTIONAL. Not too much, not too little- JUST enough. My boyfriend loved the boa buns the most. I acted full after my 1st one so he could enjoy the last one.. I'm so nice then we had the chefs pressed topped with caviar. I'm a HUGE caviar fan so the moment I see that, it's going in the cart or on the bill. It was AMAZING. Scrumptious, yet delicate and savory and a hint of sweetness from the drizzle of eel sauce. The wasabi drizzle gave it the nice kick it needed and all I can say is.. chefs kiss. Definitely coming back and can't wait to try more of their delectable dishes :) thank you for taking care of us Joshua!!

Yelp
Opted for outside seating, it was nice out so it was comfortable. Server was super sweet, Macy I think was her name. Attentive, friendly, and gave great recommendations. All the food we tried was delicious! We got several starters and shared at the table along with a selection of rolls, more of a family style setting. Great way to try multiple things at once. Recommend this spot for date night, girls night, or just a quick dinner. The menu is small but try all the selections are great! The drink menu didn't miss either , Espresso Martini & Lemon Drop Martini both great options. Restaurant is located on the corner with parking right behind. There was ample parking at no charge. The kitchen does close at roughly 10( on the wknd) so plan accordingly.

Yelp
Ok, so I thought this was just going to be Hudson House with a more nautical theme but I was happily proven otherwise. Knowing the Knox location didn't take reservations we showed up at 7:30 on Saturday evening and found an hour and a half wait for a table. Fortunately, two seats quickly opened at the bar and we chose to eat there instead. I love a good bar, and this was cozy and inviting. The two bartenders waiting on us were the stars. They were both super attentive and were on their game making drinks non stop all night. I could have definitely enjoyed a third martini they were so good (although strong so perhaps wouldn't have been a good move!) The food was excellent. The bartenders did let us know the delay in the sushi order at the time we ordered so that was no problem. The pork dumplings were fabulous and hot. I wish I had been hungrier because a couple other dishes looked very enticing on the menu. Oh well, guess it will deserve another visit!

Yelp
I live right around the corner and try to come to as many happy hours as possible. The food, waitstaff/bartenders and ambiance are all top notch. I've tried just about everything on the menu and have had no complaints. They also do a good job of changing up the menu (not too much) every now and then so locals and regulars like me never get bored. I recommend to everyone!

Alex S.

Yelp
Great food, service was great. All around great experience. Will be back. Recommend the Bao buns and tuna crispy rice

Mia C.

Yelp
Let me tell you about my girl Destiny....she is the bee's knees! This was my first time coming here & I trusted her with every dish we ordered and she did not miss. Not to mention, the sweetest, most lovely, and beautiful waitress ever. If you want great service and sushi in Dallas, sit in Destiny's section at Anchor!!!! Xoxo 5 stars!!
google avatar

Billie Y.

Yelp
Food and service were great. I would dine any time. So many selections and the sushi is top Notch. My new fav

Yelp
Great Happy Hour prices on some food items and cocktails. Bartender was amazing!! Small sushi bar, needs low lighting.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Cute sushi spot! We went during Happy Hour on a Wednesday and it was busy on the patio - make a reservation if you can! Great ambiance right on Knox Street. The Crispy Chicken Bao Buns are delicious and have a little kick to them. They come three per order and are a great deal for Happy Hour. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice has great flavor. The rice was super crispy so it was a little tough to chew, but overall it's still something I'd order again. I was stuffed just from those two starters so didn't end up getting sushi, but my friends ordered the Golden Roll, Spicy Sinatra Roll, and Tuna Nigiri and all said they were amazing. I'll definitely be back to try more!
google avatar

Yelp
Our top 2 rolls of the 3 we tried were the sunset roll & chefs pressed. Dessert the lava cake was the best of the 2

Jeremy H.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch and sat on the patio. Great service and atmosphere. Decent prices for better than most sushi! Will be back
google avatar

Jaime Z.

Yelp
Anchor sushi bar has great food. They have happy hour where you can get 1/2 priced martinis and select appetizers. The service is always great.

Ella R.

Yelp
Very average. Ambiance was nice and service was good, but the food was just average sushi. Nothing special and not worth how expensive it was. Would probably not return.
google avatar

Tatiana N.

Yelp
Anchor is one of our favorite sushi restaurants in Dallas. Their service is always fantastic and dishes come out fairly quickly. Our favorite is the Chef's Pressed and the Truffle Salmon so they're always a must order when we go. Christian R. always takes care of us with his recommendations and personable personality, but we're so sad he's no longer at Anchor.
google avatar

Justin N.

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend were really excited to try this new restaurant since we live down the street and it did not live up to the hype. This is not a Sushi restaurant, if you're expecting authentic sushi, I wouldn't come back. The hostess on the night of 10/27 was rude and had an attitude problem when we asked for a table. I saw my server only twice, once for drinks and once to order food. The manager was great at checking up on us! The fried rice is the best thing on their menu, wouldn't order their oysters again, and the rolls are decent at best. The sashimi is good, but the cutting technique seems to be different than what you'd receive at a traditional restaurant, would not order again. Rather than serving soy sauce, they serve a house-made ponzu, which is different. The ambiance on the patio is better, the inside is a little too loud.

Allie M.

Yelp
When walking into Anchor Sushi Bar, just the ambiance alone should tip you off that you are about to eat gentrified sushi. However, not every meal or restaurant has to be authentic to be considered good food and Anchor Sushi Bar proves just that. We started the night off with cocktails, I got the Cherry Blossom and my friend got the Lychee Martini. Both were delicious and sweet and were perfect to sip alongside the sushi. Our appetizer was an order of the spicy tuna crispy rice. A fun and saucy rendition of this dish that beats Nobu's version out of the water (no pun intended). We only ordered one plate, and guess what? The gods blessed us with two! (aka there was a mixup in the kitchen and they sent it out twice on accident). For my rolls, I got the Chef Kaseo roll and the spicy yellowtail classic roll. I was underwhelmed by the Chef Kaseo because I expected the sauce to be more flavorful, but did not even taste an ounce of miso or honey. You can't go wrong with a spicy yellowtail roll so it was delicious as expected. Service did take a long time so expect that when you go. Here's my advice: -stick with the classics when it comes to the rolls -don't have any definitive plans after or you will surely be late to them

Sofia O.

Yelp
Love this place!! The vibes inside are amazing and staff is always so nice. The food and drinks are so so good, you have to get the lychee martini and chef's pressed.
google avatar

Lisa P.

Yelp
Food, service and atmosphere here are all 5 star. I had a lychee and also a pear martini...both were excellent. We had so many different food items I cannot remember what they were all called but everything was wonderful!
google avatar

Brittanie A.

Yelp
Great sushi and great service! The ambiance gives very much yacht vibes. Perfect location for a light bite after shopping or date night.
google avatar

EL S.

Yelp
Unmatched service. Elegant atmosphere. Great music. Clean. Convenient. Friendly and enthusiastic bar tenders.

Brandon B.

Yelp
We had a great dinner at Anchor Sushi Bar. The food and service were great as usual and we also got to meet their sweetheart GM Karis. The burger was delicious. I definitely recommend it for a date night or casual outing. I look forward to going back.
google avatar

Maggie S.

Yelp
First timer at Anchor Bar and would give it a solid 7! Lychee Martini was solid - could've been colder! We got Brussels, tuna tacos, and lobster and crab wontons to start. The Brussels were definitely our favorite. We got a sushi roll (I can't remember the name - it has crab, salmon and tuna) and the chicken salad and weren't blown away by either. They were just okay. I think the starters are where they really shine, so will keep that in mind if I go back! Service and ambiance were excellent.

Sallie Q.

Yelp
Ambiance was great but as soon as we ordered drinks the table runner brought our drinks to the wrong table. They also didn't being us silverware or our plates then after twenty minuets we had an awkward encounter- the manager told us we had to leave because they had another table ready to be sat, BUT we had just put our orders in and not received a thing. Food was good, but the service was not good and they never apologized for the service or checked in.

Ewan P.

Yelp
I honestly got back on Yelp to express my frustration with this place in specific. We have been recommended this place from a couple of our friends and we we're excited to try it. First of all. I understand on Saturday nights things can take a little longer than usual. I am a very patient person and do never make any type of scene or express my frustration because I understand that serving and the food industry is a hard stressful business, however, our drinks took about 30 minutes to come. I understand if I got something complex but I just got a beer. Our appetizers came out very late. The edamame was super bland and our crispy rice was honestly terrible and cold/chewy (like it had been sitting for 30 min), pork dumplings were OK, but nothing to brag about for our server did not clear our table and I had to hand him dishes. My stirfry was bad and lacked taste. The food came out at weird timing and just seemed odd since hearing good things about this place before. Whole experience was pretty bad and I would not recommend this place.
google avatar

Issac C.

Yelp
This sushi haven wows with impeccable cuisine, and the staff's warmth elevates the experience. The cozy ambiance makes every visit a delight.

Hope M.

Yelp
Very good service! And the food is delicious! The Brussels sprouts have the perfect amount of spice. SO GOOD! The Lupton Roll is very light and fresh. I will be back!
google avatar

Giselle H.

Yelp
I used to come here a lot. I live just a few blocks away. I was provided excellent service in the past by waitresses that seem to no longer work there, but now the service is awful. No one is knowledgeable, service is extremely slow, and I waited a long time for food. They are also now limiting how long you're able to sit at your table... regardless if your food takes an hour. How do I only get 90 minutes to eat when my food came out at the hour mark? I then have 30 minutes left to enjoy myself? Just ridiculous. It's a shame... I used to like it here. Seems like possible new management and definitely a new way of doing things... but not in a good way. I won't be returning.
google avatar

Paige D.

Yelp
The restaurant had a great ambiance and a nice sized menu. Was very excited to try it. The service was awful. I made a reservation last night at 7:30 & didn't get sat until 8:30. We didn't get our first appetizer until 9:40.... Our server was also extremely unfriendly. However, The bar staff was extremely nice & professional when we got drinks at the bar while waiting for our meals. The drinks were excellent. Food was pretty good too. The appetizers were great! May be back

Simon A.

Yelp
Food is always great, but nine dollars for this miso soup? Look at this portion. Not nearly enough soup to charge $9
google avatar

Julie E.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place because the atmosphere is great and martinis are good. Unfortunately, I've been twice and both times (with different groups of people) the sushi for all of us has been very fishy - to the point where I couldn't swallow it. Sad because it's a great location and a great restaurant group but the sushi is not of quality at all.
google avatar

Cassandra P.

Yelp
Sushi & food was not good & overpriced. Ambiance is lovely. I'd come back and sit on the patio for a drink on a nice night but skip the food.

Brian P.

Yelp
Ok, this was a surprise. It's new and very expensive, which typically screams "stay out." However, the food is excellent so is the service. They make great drinks (martini's,) have a happy hour, tasty & creative sushi too. We've been back several times.

Abby

Yelp
Get the spicy tuna crispy rice!! It's SO good. Highly recommend going during HH when the martinis and crispy rice are half off! The lychee, lemon drop, espresso and pear martini are the best ones. They have HH on the patio and bar seating at the Knox location but don't take reservations at this one! It looks really cute inside too, kind of small in there

T F.

Yelp
Great food and even better service! Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this new local sushi restaurant.

Lauren S.

Yelp
This place is in a great location, has good vibes, nice staff but mids sushi. Better than most but still mids.

Jane B.

Yelp
Do not eat here! Sushi was extremely fishy and was terrible. And staff was not good either. 0/10 do not recommend!!!!! We didn't eat our food because it was so bad. Left hungry but still spent $80. Never again!!!

Jenna H.

Yelp
very disspointed in my recent visit. I made a reservation (online there was no option to choose inside, outside or bar). we checked in and was told we couldn't sit inside even though there was more than 3 empty tables because I didn't specify inside like the other reservations! there was no option to select one... and it is August...sorry I am not sitting outside!
google avatar

Page M.

Yelp
Ok so I just ate sushi and will be basing this completely on the sushi. So fresh, loved the salmon hand roll, and felt like it was all crisp, clean, bright flavors - my favorite sushi descriptors. However it is really expensive - definitely would be more interested in coming back for a lunch special or something like that. We went at 6pm and had no trouble getting a table for two, but the area itself is bumper to bumper by 7, so plan for an early dinner. There is a parking lot right across at Pottery Barn if you are scouting for a spot. Overall a really pretty spot for a date night, but probably won't be frequent just because of the price to food portion ratio.

Keanu T.

Yelp
Ask for Henry! One of the best servers I have ever had! Never really done reviews on yelp but had to for him. Great food! Great service! Great servers! Thank you Henry!!

Paul R.

Yelp
Ate here tonight for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Ordered the himachi ponzu, brussels and the coconut roll. All of the food was great and our server Caroline was very nice and personable. Would definitely come back.
