I like how they have tables inside and outside. If you stay outside, it will be fine since they have ceiling fans. I went on a Monday around 2. I would go again around that time since there were not a lot of people and I would recommend this place. The food was amazing, and it was worth the price, and the server was very nice. And the tortillas had a unique taste which you can buy some if you want to take a dozen but they are free when you get some to eat. Overall the food was amazing and it is a lot of food which is worth the price.

The only food I liked were the tortillas My sister liked the salsa But the service was good we had a good waitress thank you

Really nice little place with full bar. First time visitor. Service was attentive and our waitress JoAnn and the Tortilla Machine Lady (sorry didn't get name) were super nice and accommodating. HOMEMADE fresh tortillas at every table. Machine very visible and interesting. FOOD was hot and tasty. Michelada was really good. Definitely will return

Even though I live about forty miles away, this is my favorite place for nachos. The servers are amazing—Nida, Bonnie, Trinity, Sabrina, Jacob, Dillon, Daniella, Rosa and kitchen manager Saul. Especially the owner, Mr. Dean Bergstrom, is the most amazing and kind gentleman, always working and even bussing tables. When in the area or out of town, stop by and experience the best of the southWest.

Finally visited this restaurant tonight . The steak tacos were very flavor less I had to use a ton of quac and salsa to add flavor to the steak . The rice and beans were pretty terrible , my husband and I did not eat the rest of it. The seating area had a buffet style look to it , I felt over dressed for this place but the service was very top Notch , the host and waitresses were beyond polite and helpful but not enough to come back un fortunately . I had High Hopes for this Place .

Anchos is always a fun place for people of all ages to enjoy a meal together. The food is the best, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is family friendly! The warm tortillas with butter are the best! They are presented at the start of every meal, included in the price, along with chips and salsa!

I got full on the homemade tortillas. The food is really great!!! Honestly just go and try it. I got the steak tacos medium well and it was perfect. The only thing missing was some hot sauce for the tacos. Had to come back to add more info to the review. It is a very busy location but don’t let that deter you from coming!!! As you are seated generally quick like any other restaurant. From time of placing your order to receiving your food, it was on average to your regular restaurant experience. What helps is the chips and salsa and freshly made tortillas.

call it nostalgia or call it the best handmade tortillas you've ever had, anchos is a riverside legend. i've been going here for as long as i can remember, and it still hits every single time. my go to order is the steak tacos al carbon and although it's definitely gone up in price, they are absolutely worth every penny. also shoutout to the waitresses who always give my kids tortilla dough to play with ~ such a lovely thing they always look forward to!

As I'm in Tennessee and Anchos is in SoCal, I don't get to eat there very often. However, I will definitely go to Anchos whenever I visit SoCal. The food is some of the best you will find anywhere, doesn't matter what you order. The tortillas are amazing, and I strongly recommend taking some home with you. You won't leave hungry, I promise. As for the service, Like th food, It's amazing, and it's a double bonus if you're lucky enough to get Nicolette as your server. Somehow she just makes the food better. You will want to give her an extra big tip

Wow! So glad I found this gem. Walked in on a Friday at lunchtime and it was packed... so that was the first good sign. Homemade salad dressing and homemade tortillas??? Yes! The meat was so flavorful. Amazing place!

Went back in and had great service. Tortillas are refilled at a great clip. Went during midweek around 12 or so. Plenty of staff on site during daytime hours. The stars for me were the anticipatory tortillas drop off being brought to the table. The chicken was tender in the taco; next time I think I'll try the burrito on the specials board to mix things up. The beans were hot and tasty and the rice was moist as well. Pro Tip: go during the daytime and get the special on the board at the entrance to save some money,

This restaurant is pretty busy on the weekends, but is worth the wait. As soon as you pull up to the parking lot you get a whiff of the mesquite wood burning grill. I have gone here at least 20 times and have brought many friends her and they all rave about the food. 90% of the time I order the steak tacos Al Carbon, tender, and flavorable ribeye. They have a tortilla making machine in the central part of the restaurant and refill them for you like most restaurants refill you coffee or water. The owner Dean is always on the floor making sure everyone is being taken care of. I wish it was closer to home, but it is worth the tough drive through Corona to get there.

Came here after seeing a happy hour online, but turns out that was an error on a separate site,not the restaurant's fault. The restaurant itself was busy with a lively, family-friendly atmosphere and a solid menu to choose from. They start you off with complimentary chips and salsa, which is always a plus. The chips tasted homemade but were a bit over-salted for my liking. On the flip side, the homemade flour tortillas they bring to the table were excellent. I ordered a tamale, which had a pretty standard flavor but was still enjoyable overall. Service was attentive. Staff checked in on us regularly, which made the experience smoother. Prices are a little high, but that's expected for the area. Overall, a good spot for a family meal with friendly service and some nice touches like the fresh tortillas.

Anchos! I love you! I came here with a large party from work and our waitress was amazing! She made sure our waters were always full and she split our checks, which I know is a pain. Yes, I am that person who asks to split the check, but I always make sure our server knows I appreciate that. Whenever I come here. I always get their steak tacos! They are my absolute favorite! Then I stuff myself with their fresh tortillas! You have to come in for those. The space was nice and clean. Service was quick. There's an abundance of parking and restrooms are clean. I'll keep on coming back.

Wow!!! Just wow I did an inquiry on TikTok to see where I can eat in Riverside. I picked this place out of several locations , and am very pleased . The staff is super friendly! The food is great and reasonably priced. I highly recommend you drop in and try the freshly made tortillas. AMAZING ,,, just like my grandma use to taste!! The machine makes them but the flavor is authentic .

Had THE BEST grilled steak fajitas this evening! The watermelon and mango margaritas were fire too! Chips and salsa were perfection. And, when I saw butter for the homemade flour tortillas, I just knew...OH YES! Ancho's understood the assignment!

We love to come here for the homemade tortillas. I love that they give a little ball of the dough to my daughter so she plays with it while we eat on the tortillas and chips and salsa while we figure out what will get to eat. We usually go around 4:30 because any time after it gets packed. I always stick to the combination food. My oldest loves the shrimp and steak with onions and bell peppers. The beans are really good. The service that we get they have been really nice. Once we are done. My little one walks to go and pick out her own ice cream which she loves.

I really liked the customer service, very nice and understanding. It was kinda crowded so it was packed but overall still clean. The food is alright not great , the tortillas with butter are probably the best part but DAMN the prices for the food u get is TRASH. 30-40 dollars for 2/3 tacos with no cilantro or onions, and with microwaved rice and beans. It could be better

Chose to eat an early dinner and arrived at 5pm on a Friday night. Perfect time to avoid a wait. We were seated promptly. Server was attentive and friendly. Fresh flour tortillas, chips and salsa were served within minutes! Our food was brought to us in a short amount of time. Fresh, hot and delicious. We were able to carry on a conversation without any problems but as the restaurant got busier the noise level did increase, and that was to be expected. The one downside of this restaurant is that both the rice and the beans have animal products in them. We were reassured that the homemade flour tortillas were not made with lard so that was a definite plus. Vegetarian options are slim, and vegan options are confined to salads.

We have been coming here off and on for many years. Unfortunately this place has also gone down. Chairs, windows and floor are filthy. Chips are just plain and thin and salsa just ok. Food was not even mediocre at the least. The margarita was also not good at all. This place has gone downhill! Never again

What a great find! Our friends recommended this place to meet up and it did not disappoint! My husband and I shared the carne fajitas for two, which was actually enough for 3-4 people. The fresh tortillas with butter was heavenly. The service was exceptional, with our server, Emma, consistently checking in. I ordered a blended watermelon margarita, which was okay. They do have a variety of draught beer, including Modelo. The restaurant is spacious and had patrons from all walks of life. I would come back for the carne fajitas and tortillas!

An absolutely amazing experience that my husband and I are still talking about! We made it into the area later than we had anticipated, so missed out on the cafés that we were going to hit, so instead we decided to stop for dinner. My husband did a couple of Google searches and couldn't really decide on where to go, so we narrowed it down to Mexican and decided to stop in here as it seemed to have pretty good reviews. We were seated almost immediately and had chips and salsa brought to the table. The chips were hot and the salsa was delicious, so we were very hopeful for the rest of our food, especially once we saw that they made their tortillas fresh. We decided on the Carne Asada plate and the Chicken plate. Everything came out quickly and was hot and fresh. We ate more than we should've and still managed to bring leftovers home, which included another two bags of tortillas that the staff very kindly provided. I did not expect this restaurant to be the highlight of our trip, but I'm definitely glad we stopped in, and we are currently discussing more ways that we can justify making the 5 hour drive for dinner

Came today for lunch with my sweetie and two others! We all ordered the salmon which was great it came with a side of whole beans and rice! It was delicious! Our server was also great! By 12:15 it was packed! They bring a container of fresh hot flour tortillas before you order with your drinks!

I'm sorry, but the food was horrible. The burrito was stale. The chile rellano sauce was SWEET! Yuck. The chips were stale. The salsa had no flavor. The best thing was the beans and tortillas with butter. That's it! Service was also not great tonight. A lot of attitude from the server. She didn't write down our order for a table of 3 and then messed up. Come on man. We will never be back! Good luck staying in business.

I've been coming to Anchos Southwest Grill & Bar since 1997. I was 6 years old. And I still keep on coming back after all these 28 years. The food here is great, it's cooked with mesquite wood which gives it a great flavor. The food is still the same, it hasn't changed ever since I've been coming here. The drinks are great too. Try their micheladas and cadillac margaritas (best cadillac margaritas I've ever had). Dean the owner is amazing. He's always there if you ever need anything. And the staff here is great too.

It's been a couple years since I've been here and I was really excited... First to be seated on a Wednesday and I ordered the chicken/steak fajitas. The chicken was dry cut strips from yesterday and the steak was tough, sitting on top of a large mound of oily onions. Also, the tortillas aren't what they used to be. The ingredients seem to have have changed. The service was good and my friend really enjoyed the pork tamale with green sauce. I won't be as excited to try this place next time but willing to give it another try while ordering something else.

Grandparents love this place. Not authentic mexican food, but the food was good regardless! Beans, rice, and "carne asada" were all good. Could use salt. Tortilla are a big hit.

This is definitely a white persons Mexican food spot. If you know you know. Our server was great that being that there were 8 of us and 5 of them being starving kids. I ordered a #Three. 2 shredded beef enchiladas, a red pork tamale, and a crunchy shredded beef taco- w/ rice & beans ! It was a lot of food for $22 !! That's the only reason I gave them 3 stars because the quantity and price. But the enchiladas were the driest I've ever had. The CRUNCHY taco was SOGGY ! And the meat was so dry, like a Popeyes biscuit dry ! And the tamale was okay, my husband ending up eating it because I was over the food. Our server kept brining tortillas to the table and they were OK. A little thinner and they would have been like from Mexico. I'm not sure we'd come back, but we had to try it to know.

You know how every family has that one restaurant that they go to for every special occasion and that everybody loves? For my family, it's Anchos. I lived in SoCal for a few years when I was little and we visited Anchos all the time. I have the best memories of playing with tortilla dough balls and picking out a popsicle with my brother. Now, almost 15 years later, Anchos was our first stop off the plane and everything tasted, smelled, and looked the exact same, and that's the best compliment I can give. The steak tacos are tender and have incredible flavor (I even remember how good they were on the niños menu). The tortillas are made in the middle of the restaurant and are so hot and delicious. I would literally buy a gallon size jar of the salsa to bring home. Guacamole = perfection. I could seriously talk about every menu item and how great they are because every single thing is amazing. Service is good, ambience is good, food is great. Highly recommend for families, casual dining, occasions, or just a craving for really good tacos. Anchos, I love you, happy 35 years.

Anchos is a delicious southwest restaurant and bar, with good service and OK ambience. Access is pretty easy and there's plenty of parking nearby. We went during lunch time, around 1 pm , and we got seated immediately. Food was awesome!! We had Steak tacos al carbon and seafood enchiladas, both delicious and good amount; with authentic beans, rice and tortillas & butter. All delicious. Considering the current inflation i think their price is ok, all things considered. Great place, highly recommended!!!

I had the worst experience at Anchos in Riverside. I ordered the wet burrito and it was absolutely terrible. The steak was chewy, flavorless, and cold. For $27.99 for a single burrito you'd think it would be decent, but it had no taste, no cheese melted on top, and just looked thrown together. Definitely not worth the price. Honestly one of the worst "Mexican restaurants" I've ever been to very disappointing and I won't be back. Will have nightmares about what I experienced... I cut into the burrito to find it was full of tomatoes onion and pieces of steak never in my life have I had beans and rice on the side of a burrito lol

This is THE best restaurant in Riverside! I crave this place all the time. My favorite are the steak fajitas and the tacos. I also love the chips and salsa from here! It's so good. The fresh flour tortillas is what makes this place stand out for me. It's so delicious and I always look forward to eating some whenever I'm here! The service is always so great. The people who work here are truly so nice and have such a great attitude. You can tell that this place really cares about their customers and the quality of their food. I highly recommend this place!

Kid friendly, great music, fresh tortillas with butter! The food was so good! Shrimp wrapped in bacon was delicious. Taco salad with grilled chicken was so good! The kids loved that they go to walk to the freezer and choose their own icecream (included in their meal!) Cinthia was attentive and so accommodating to our requests! The best waitress we've had in a while! The kids loved playing with "playdough" (tortilla dough) and watching the homemade flour tortillas come off the pan!

I hadn't been here in years & wanted to give it another try for my birthday. Service here was above and beyond! Unfortunately, I didn't get our server's name, but he was amazing! They have indoor and outdoor patio seating. Upon seating we received chips and salsa and hot homemade tortillas. The chips and salsa were perfect to me. The homemade tortillas with butter were a treat as well. The Diet Coke was carbonated & refreshing! Our main courses were just ok, the rice was pretty dry and the fajitas were alright. There is definitely a following at this restaurant with diehard fans, so people really dig this spot. I, unfortunately, just wouldn't be back. I would give it a try if you've never been, as they say, different strokes for different folks.

You don't imagine a restaurant this amazing to be in a secluded location. Normal building on the outside. Fiesta inside the place. Amazing Mexican food. To start with homemade some chips and salsa plus the added bonus of the fresh tortillas with butter. OMG. Must have. Don't get full yet. The burritos are BIG and hearty. The enchiladas are full of meat (chicken was my choice, but steak and carnitas available). The salad was a healthy portion. The chicken tostada was Ginormous! Every dish came with a side of rice and beans (these beans are hearty with slices of meat). You will not be disappointed with the service! Portions! Taste! And leaving FULL. I highly recommend this place. It's worth the drive. Especially for me and my family coming from Orange County. Put this place on your list to visit.

I highly recommend this restaurant! It is TOP SHELF Tex -Mex!!!! Drinks are great, service is awesome. The table turnover is fast, meaning that there is no wasted time whenpersons leave their table, that it is cleaned and prepared for the next guest, minimizing wait times during busy periods. The homemade tortillas are out of this world, and the Carne Asada is our absolute favorite. living in southern CA, we have many choices for this type of fare, but Anchos is the very best! I'd give them 20 stars if I could!

Fajitas for two came out so yummy. The steak is really juicy and tender comes with rice and beans homemade flour tortillas with butter. The salsa is spicy. I recommend the fajitas.
