I like how they have tables inside and outside. If you stay outside, it will be fine since they have ceiling fans. I went on a Monday around 2. I would go again around that time since there were not a lot of people and I would recommend this place. The food was amazing, and it was worth the price, and the server was very nice. And the tortillas had a unique taste which you can buy some if you want to take a dozen but they are free when you get some to eat. Overall the food was amazing and it is a lot of food which is worth the price.

Really nice little place with full bar. First time visitor. Service was attentive and our waitress JoAnn and the Tortilla Machine Lady (sorry didn't get name) were super nice and accommodating. HOMEMADE fresh tortillas at every table. Machine very visible and interesting. FOOD was hot and tasty. Michelada was really good. Definitely will return

Anchos is always a fun place for people of all ages to enjoy a meal together. The food is the best, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is family friendly! The warm tortillas with butter are the best! They are presented at the start of every meal, included in the price, along with chips and salsa!

Vara the hostess let us slide in last minuet and was super friendly , And Roman our server was incredible . Fastest service I've ever experienced at a restaurant ever. I got the chicken & steak fajitas and my boyfriend got the shrimp & steak fajitas. We were both so happy with the quality. And it was only $62!! Great quality and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? Count me in. Don’t miss out on trying this place, will most definitely be going back.

I got full on the homemade tortillas. The food is really great!!! Honestly just go and try it. I got the steak tacos medium well and it was perfect. The only thing missing was some hot sauce for the tacos. Had to come back to add more info to the review. It is a very busy location but don’t let that deter you from coming!!! As you are seated generally quick like any other restaurant. From time of placing your order to receiving your food, it was on average to your regular restaurant experience. What helps is the chips and salsa and freshly made tortillas.

This place is always a go to for good food. There usually is a little wait at dinner time but you can sit in bar and grab a drink while you wait for table. It’s never been a crazy wait time I think 25 has been the longest I’ve waited there and I’ve been here numerous times. I love that they have plenty of servers so you never feel like you’re waiting for service. You can not beat the homemade tortillas!! You just need to be careful not to eat them all cuz you’ll get full! lol the food is delicious it’s a open bay concept so it is loud, but not annoyingly loud. It’s great place for families with kids. I have no negatives here. Service, food, atmosphere all are 👍

Anchos! I love you! I came here with a large party from work and our waitress was amazing! She made sure our waters were always full and she split our checks, which I know is a pain. Yes, I am that person who asks to split the check, but I always make sure our server knows I appreciate that. Whenever I come here. I always get their steak tacos! They are my absolute favorite! Then I stuff myself with their fresh tortillas! You have to come in for those. The space was nice and clean. Service was quick. There's an abundance of parking and restrooms are clean. I'll keep on coming back.

Went back in and had great service. Tortillas are refilled at a great clip. Went during midweek around 12 or so. Plenty of staff on site during daytime hours. The stars for me were the anticipatory tortillas drop off being brought to the table. The chicken was tender in the taco; next time I think I'll try the burrito on the specials board to mix things up. The beans were hot and tasty and the rice was moist as well. Pro Tip: go during the daytime and get the special on the board at the entrance to save some money,

It's been a couple years since I've been here and I was really excited... First to be seated on a Wednesday and I ordered the chicken/steak fajitas. The chicken was dry cut strips from yesterday and the steak was tough, sitting on top of a large mound of oily onions. Also, the tortillas aren't what they used to be. The ingredients seem to have have changed. The service was good and my friend really enjoyed the pork tamale with green sauce. I won't be as excited to try this place next time but willing to give it another try while ordering something else.

Had THE BEST grilled steak fajitas this evening! The watermelon and mango margaritas were fire too! Chips and salsa were perfection. And, when I saw butter for the homemade flour tortillas, I just knew...OH YES! Ancho's understood the assignment!

What a great find! Our friends recommended this place to meet up and it did not disappoint! My husband and I shared the carne fajitas for two, which was actually enough for 3-4 people. The fresh tortillas with butter was heavenly. The service was exceptional, with our server, Emma, consistently checking in. I ordered a blended watermelon margarita, which was okay. They do have a variety of draught beer, including Modelo. The restaurant is spacious and had patrons from all walks of life. I would come back for the carne fajitas and tortillas!

An absolutely amazing experience that my husband and I are still talking about! We made it into the area later than we had anticipated, so missed out on the cafés that we were going to hit, so instead we decided to stop for dinner. My husband did a couple of Google searches and couldn't really decide on where to go, so we narrowed it down to Mexican and decided to stop in here as it seemed to have pretty good reviews. We were seated almost immediately and had chips and salsa brought to the table. The chips were hot and the salsa was delicious, so we were very hopeful for the rest of our food, especially once we saw that they made their tortillas fresh. We decided on the Carne Asada plate and the Chicken plate. Everything came out quickly and was hot and fresh. We ate more than we should've and still managed to bring leftovers home, which included another two bags of tortillas that the staff very kindly provided. I did not expect this restaurant to be the highlight of our trip, but I'm definitely glad we stopped in, and we are currently discussing more ways that we can justify making the 5 hour drive for dinner

Came today for lunch with my sweetie and two others! We all ordered the salmon which was great it came with a side of whole beans and rice! It was delicious! Our server was also great! By 12:15 it was packed! They bring a container of fresh hot flour tortillas before you order with your drinks!

Grandparents love this place. Not authentic mexican food, but the food was good regardless! Beans, rice, and "carne asada" were all good. Could use salt. Tortilla are a big hit.

Kid friendly, great music, fresh tortillas with butter! The food was so good! Shrimp wrapped in bacon was delicious. Taco salad with grilled chicken was so good! The kids loved that they go to walk to the freezer and choose their own icecream (included in their meal!) Cinthia was attentive and so accommodating to our requests! The best waitress we've had in a while! The kids loved playing with "playdough" (tortilla dough) and watching the homemade flour tortillas come off the pan!

I highly recommend this restaurant! It is TOP SHELF Tex -Mex!!!! Drinks are great, service is awesome. The table turnover is fast, meaning that there is no wasted time whenpersons leave their table, that it is cleaned and prepared for the next guest, minimizing wait times during busy periods. The homemade tortillas are out of this world, and the Carne Asada is our absolute favorite. living in southern CA, we have many choices for this type of fare, but Anchos is the very best! I'd give them 20 stars if I could!

This is definitely a white persons Mexican food spot. If you know you know. Our server was great that being that there were 8 of us and 5 of them being starving kids. I ordered a #Three. 2 shredded beef enchiladas, a red pork tamale, and a crunchy shredded beef taco- w/ rice & beans ! It was a lot of food for $22 !! That's the only reason I gave them 3 stars because the quantity and price. But the enchiladas were the driest I've ever had. The CRUNCHY taco was SOGGY ! And the meat was so dry, like a Popeyes biscuit dry ! And the tamale was okay, my husband ending up eating it because I was over the food. Our server kept brining tortillas to the table and they were OK. A little thinner and they would have been like from Mexico. I'm not sure we'd come back, but we had to try it to know.

You know how every family has that one restaurant that they go to for every special occasion and that everybody loves? For my family, it's Anchos. I lived in SoCal for a few years when I was little and we visited Anchos all the time. I have the best memories of playing with tortilla dough balls and picking out a popsicle with my brother. Now, almost 15 years later, Anchos was our first stop off the plane and everything tasted, smelled, and looked the exact same, and that's the best compliment I can give. The steak tacos are tender and have incredible flavor (I even remember how good they were on the niños menu). The tortillas are made in the middle of the restaurant and are so hot and delicious. I would literally buy a gallon size jar of the salsa to bring home. Guacamole = perfection. I could seriously talk about every menu item and how great they are because every single thing is amazing. Service is good, ambience is good, food is great. Highly recommend for families, casual dining, occasions, or just a craving for really good tacos. Anchos, I love you, happy 35 years.

Anchos is a delicious southwest restaurant and bar, with good service and OK ambience. Access is pretty easy and there's plenty of parking nearby. We went during lunch time, around 1 pm , and we got seated immediately. Food was awesome!! We had Steak tacos al carbon and seafood enchiladas, both delicious and good amount; with authentic beans, rice and tortillas & butter. All delicious. Considering the current inflation i think their price is ok, all things considered. Great place, highly recommended!!!

You don't imagine a restaurant this amazing to be in a secluded location. Normal building on the outside. Fiesta inside the place. Amazing Mexican food. To start with homemade some chips and salsa plus the added bonus of the fresh tortillas with butter. OMG. Must have. Don't get full yet. The burritos are BIG and hearty. The enchiladas are full of meat (chicken was my choice, but steak and carnitas available). The salad was a healthy portion. The chicken tostada was Ginormous! Every dish came with a side of rice and beans (these beans are hearty with slices of meat). You will not be disappointed with the service! Portions! Taste! And leaving FULL. I highly recommend this place. It's worth the drive. Especially for me and my family coming from Orange County. Put this place on your list to visit.

This is THE best restaurant in Riverside! I crave this place all the time. My favorite are the steak fajitas and the tacos. I also love the chips and salsa from here! It's so good. The fresh flour tortillas is what makes this place stand out for me. It's so delicious and I always look forward to eating some whenever I'm here! The service is always so great. The people who work here are truly so nice and have such a great attitude. You can tell that this place really cares about their customers and the quality of their food. I highly recommend this place!

I hadn't been here in years & wanted to give it another try for my birthday. Service here was above and beyond! Unfortunately, I didn't get our server's name, but he was amazing! They have indoor and outdoor patio seating. Upon seating we received chips and salsa and hot homemade tortillas. The chips and salsa were perfect to me. The homemade tortillas with butter were a treat as well. The Diet Coke was carbonated & refreshing! Our main courses were just ok, the rice was pretty dry and the fajitas were alright. There is definitely a following at this restaurant with diehard fans, so people really dig this spot. I, unfortunately, just wouldn't be back. I would give it a try if you've never been, as they say, different strokes for different folks.

The food is more TexMex than California Mexican. The fresh tortillas are delicious and they are generous with keeping you supplied. My only criticism is it is noisy.

I realized that as many times as we gave been here, I have never posted a review. Anchos has been a family staple since shortly after they opened. This is one of our absolute favorites! The best dish is and has always been the Steak Ranchero. Unfortunately we have seen the price increases on this dish over the years. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. Their fish specials have also been outstanding. The servers are attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance is fast-paced, simple and fun. This place is always packed. We highly recommend Anchos!

It seems quality has gone downhill. Took my friends to lunch on Wednesday. The carnitas were dry. Aren't they supposed to be juicy? The beef tacos tasted funny. Both friends didn't eat their meals. I was embarrassed.

I haven't been here in person, but I've had their food via takeout a few times while visiting friends in the area. First and foremost, their tortillas are incredible. I understand why my friend asked for extra. They're so, so good. The rest of the food (combinado two and fajitas) that I've tried has been pretty good, but the tortillas are the most memorable part of the order.

Best Tex-Mex restaurant around! The tortillas, chips, and salsa are always fresh and delicious. Kate was our server this time and she was incredibly attentive, though the service is always great here. The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review is the missing horchata. Please bring back the horchata drink!

Our server was great when we visited on the 28th! We were visiting family in town and stopped in for lunch. They were packed and the fresh made tortillas were amazing! I'm glad we had a chance to visit

I hadn't been here in 20 years and I can't imagine why, it was so good! I live in Corona and never think of going to Anchos. We'll that has changed! Some friends invited me tonight. We split the steak and chicken fajitas for two. It was delicious, especially the steak (cooked medium). I can't say that if it was just the fajitas because when you rolled them up in the handmade, warm, fresh, pillows, the flour tortillas were just the most amazing bite ever! The little dollop of guacamole was a perfect creamy ripe avocado. The peppers and onions were perfectly cooked. A bite of beans and rice mixed on my fork was yummy. I can't say enough wonderful things, only that the "for two" could have served four people a normal portion but you wont want to share because even the left overs, which I couldn't stop thinking about in my refrigerator in the middle of the night, were still amazing after reheating.. This is my new favorite Southwest (not mexican) grill and I will be back soon. Thanks for the amazing meal.

Fajitas for two came out so yummy. The steak is really juicy and tender comes with rice and beans homemade flour tortillas with butter. The salsa is spicy. I recommend the fajitas.

Me and the wife had some rare free time so we decided to try Anchos due to positive reviews. We got there around noon and it was packed so that seemed like a good thing. I got a combo plate with enchilada, taco and tamale and my wife ordered chile rellenos. We also both ordered a frozen mango margarita. The frozen margarita came in kiddie mug and it wasn't strong at all. The food was bland af too. Idk how they have positive reviews. There was so much food left the waitress seemed puzzled that we didn't want to take any with us. It was truly that horrible. Never again.

Were really enjoyed our visit to Anchos. The portion sizes were very generous, and all the flavors were outstanding! The exterior is simple, but the interior is really colorful and pleasant. Service throughout our visit was on point; we ordered everything a la carte so we could try a lot of different dishes. Tip: If you're a fan of chips and salsa, the ones they serve here will make you VERY happy :-) The meat in the steak taco was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and done to just the right level of medium-rare for my taste. The sauce on the chicken was really flavorful, and the seafood enchiladas were wonderful; they also brought complimentary warm tortillas that totally hit the spot. If you're craving food from South of the Border, this is a great place to visit!

I came here with for a company luncheon and was pleasantly surprised with the experience overall. To start off our server was attentive and friendly. All of our drinks were being constantly refilled along with the chips and salsa. The tortillas offered on the side were nice and decadent you could eat them alone or just with some salt, they are that good. I ordered a shredded beef burrito which ended up being a wet burrito with red sauce and cheese on top. The contents of the burrito worked perfectly with each other, salted rich beef, fatty fresh guacamole and sour cream. The rice and beans on the side were also nice. The rice had a slight herbal hint without overpowering everything and the beans had great flavor and texture. If I were to be in the area again I would definitely return, great homey Mexican restaurant for a quick bite.

Sadly this place has gone downhill over the years. The hostess at the front was extremely rude and started the experience off with a bad taste in our mouth (pun intended). Food is pretty mid, likely won't be back again. Bummer but really not worth the drive or price anymore.

The food was mostly good. The steak was really tasty. I'm not a big fan of their chicken because it's shredded chicken and I don't like shredded chicken. The staff has always been great to us when we go. The homemade tortillas are amazing!

Can't complain about Anchos Southwest Grill. Our favorite restaurant in IE We came quite often. They know how to cook delicious meals. This place always packed no matter what days it is. The ambiance was amazing. We don't really mind waiting in line to get in since we are able enjoying the best margaritas in town We came here for a birthday dinner celebration for my husband, after we finished with our food the waitresses sang their birthday song trademark and gave him a small bowl of yummy dessert. Thank you!

Parking here is easy. It is a standalone building. Inside the adobe-ish building are lots of tables. This is an easy restaurant for wheelchairs and walkers to navigate. The tortillas are homemade and SO very delicious! The salsa is great too. The tacos and chicken are great. The staff is friendly but could probably use an extra 3 people to help. This is not a quick bite type of place. Please do NOT come here in a rush. You have been warned, please decide accordingly. This place is popular so it gets VERY loud inside. The bathrooms are small but fine.

I visit here every couple of months. I've nver been disappointed with the fresh chips, hot fresh made tortillas or amy of the food or Margaritas i've purchased here. I usually go early so there isn't a wait but every place that is good you know you'll wait so just hold on and wait it out.

If you are in Southern California, do not bother with this place. It used to be good, now their tortillas are palm size. Go to anywhere in CA they make a homemade tortilla and they are at least an 8 inch tortilla. This place turned into a joke. Never again. The fact they think they can charge a fortune and serve palm sized tortillas in CA is weird.

We come here for the freshly made tortillas and eat them with butter! That's all. Tortillas and butter. lol trust me... it's the best! If you want some protein the fajitas and tacos are good too.

So I've been here a few time now, and the Uncut Steak doesn't disappoint!! The fresh made flour tortillas and margaritas for my wife are always good. Staff is polite and easy to flag down. The only thing bad is the furniture this place can use an upgrade. But that's it!! Very much recommended!!
