The Best Restaurants for Big Group Dinners in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"This spot on the shores of Lake Washington has plenty of flair (you can get fish sauce caramel on your coffee, or order coconut butter geoduck as a starter), and also claims to be the largest Vietnamese restaurant outside of Vietnam. It’s a massive amusement park of a restaurant with robots that deliver food from the kitchen. It also has a wide array of private rooms, including a 50-person second-story dining area with views of the lake, plus smaller rooms for gatherings of 16 or 20 people." - Harry Cheadle

Fabulous food! Wonderful experience! And a learning curve for me as I am nearing retirement. This place has potential to become top notch! Every thing is so clean and new and they even have robots bringing food to the servers. The food is amazing and you won’t be disappointed. The drinks are delicious and seemingly crafted with care. And it’s beautiful. The servers are young and need a bit of training, but they are all so beautiful. Well done!

If you’re searching for authentic Vietnamese cuisine served with warmth and care, Anchovies and Salt is a standout gem that deserves a spot on your go-to list. Tucked away in a cozy corner of the city, this restaurant offers a flavorful journey through Vietnam’s rich culinary traditions. The service is attentive without being overbearing. Our server was knowledgeable, offering thoughtful recommendations and checking in just often enough. Everything I ordered was amazing. Some of them tasted exactly what I ate in Vietnam. The chefs did their great job on the seasonings and flavors. The prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. Whether you’re popping in for a quick lunch or enjoying a leisurely dinner, Anchovies and Salt delivers consistent quality and a welcoming atmosphere.

It's been hard to get a reservation for Saturday lunch as every time, they seem to have a private event. But I managed to walk in today! I was not disappointed. Although we were turned away initially, they seated us outside after the person at the front desk got some clarification. The food was very good. Our server was pretty knowledgeable so he helped us in ordering items. We sat outside on a picture perfect day. Great place to try out what they call "elevated Vietnamese cuisine"!

Google
Beautiful location, right by the sound. Outdoor seating has good hearing during the autumn and spring times of year where it might get chilly (winter dnt recommend) indoor seating is really good too though. The service is great! The food is decent quality! But it could do with more options on the menu. The menu is pretty limited. There's a lot more dishes they can add later on I'm sure! Try the fish sauce vietnamese coffee, you will not regret!

Google
Beautiful view and amazing food! They have signature dishes from various parts of Vietnam. Many of the dishes are hard to find anywhere else. I recommend trying this restaurant if you love fresh and tasty Vietnamese food. It is like a culinary tour of Vietnam. The atmosphere, decor and service were also exceptional. We stopped by for a mid-week lunch, so it was not too crowded and parking was easy to find. We had an amazing view of Lake Washington, part of downtown Seattle and the snow covered Olympic mountains.

Google
We stumbled across this hidden gem while staying at the Hyatt next door. After a walk through the nearby park, we found this spot and decided to stop for a drink — and ended up staying for a quick bite because the food smelled and looked incredible! We tried the crab and pork wraps, which were fresh, packed with flavor, and beautifully presented with a tangy dipping sauce. The atmosphere was relaxed and lively, perfect for a casual afternoon or a fun night out. Our bartender was welcoming and attentive, making the experience even better. Although we only sampled a few things, we can’t wait to come back and explore the menu more — every dish we saw looked amazing. There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating right on the water at Lake Washington. Pro tip: snag a table outside if you can — the views are unbeatable! Definitely a perfect spot for any occasion.

Google
Anchovies & Salt has been on my list. I got to experience it with my friend on a random Sunday. For us, we loved everything about our visit: we got parking near the entrance, the service from Whitney and the other servers were on point, and the food…Chefs kiss. We were happy with our choices and left more than stuffed. The view of the water was gorgeous. Oh, the paintings inside the restaurant were heartwarming!

Google
Love the food and the atmosphere. Great Vietnamese food. We had the water fern cake, chilli shrimp, chili salt shrimp skewer, lemongrass pork belly, egg fried rice, and lemon grass chili chicken. Would order it all again. We enjoy eating here and being out on the patio.

Yelp
Everything we got was very flavorful and authentic. Bao, our server was very attentive and gave detailed recommendations for appetizers. Overall, dining here was a very pleasant experience for my friends and I.

Yelp
My friends and I came around 5pm and it was pretty decent. Wasn't too busy. We got seated quickly as our server was attentive. Gave us really good recommendations on appetizers and drinks. Food was good as well. We finished everything we ordered.

Yelp
I want to focus on the positive first as there were many: the flavor of the food - amazing. Really well thought out and a treat for the tastebuds. Even for something as simple as the wagyu salad. I did not expect the flavors and they were a welcome surprise. The greens were fresh - it was a beautiful dish. You also cannot beat the location and view. And the restaurant itself is really well thought out and welcoming and I will absolutely return! I'd have to also agree with the other reviews - if they could address the ordering and the tablet - it was not user friendly and felt redundant with the amount of times we had to engage the waitstaff. And the waitstaff seemed less than prepared to answer questions nor were they proactive. These are minor and can easily be rectified. I highly recommend a visit! Food: 5 Ambiance: 5 Service: 3.5

Yelp
This place is totally amateur hour. Really terrible service. To the owner: please lose the iPads and employ real waitstaff instead of the high school students you're using. Some problems with ordering by iPad: - waitstaff doesnt know who ordered what when they bring food to your table, resulting in them just dumping food at your table - if a menu item is out, no one tells you - issues with removing food from order as the app seems to be buggy - in general, no one "owns" your table so you stop whoever is walking by for things you need and there is no coordination amongst staff for your party's needs I saw a video online in which the owner said he was trying to elevate Vietnamese food, but unfortunately that isnt happening. The food is actually fine, not terrible, but also not great. Certainly not worth the "elevated" prices for, as others have noted, small portions. The decor is fine, kind of overdoes it on the Asian / Vietnamese theme, and the setting is gorgeous. This restaurant probably impresses some people (like white folks who never eat Asian food or Asian people who feel a big lack of Asian representation in their lives) but it's not fooling anyone who truly loves Vietnamese food. Also, the claim (which seems to be advertised everywhere in the restauranr) that this is the largest Vietnamese restaurant outside of Vietnam is totally meaningless if the service is not great, the price is high, and the food is middling. It's not the size of the wave that counts, it's the motion.

Yelp
Came here for a girls lunch. The place can get crowded since it's right next to the waterfront right behind the Hyatt hotel. There's also the Gene Coulon Park on the other side the restaurant. There's outdoor seating and indoor. We sat indoor as it a bit warm outside. They do have umbrellas above the outside tables, but we didn't think that would be enough to stay cool. So parking is a big thing around here, coz you pretty much have to pay for parking, whether is street parking or the parking garages. I personally would recommend parking at the park towards the playground if possible since parking is free. There's an opening to the left of the playground when you're facing the water that takes you right to the waterfront. Just walk a few doors down and youll see the restaurant. We ordered a few dishes and shared. We started with the golden pho pillows, grilled oysters and raw oysters. Golden Pho Pillows 4/5 Grilled Oysters 3.5/5 Raw Oysters 4/5 (the table wasn't a fan of the sauce it came with, so they asked for Tabasco which they do have, but its just not on the table) For entrees, we ordered the shaken waygu beef rice, dodging steak, bone marrow and eggs, bun bo hue, and the northern sautéed wagyu pho. Shaken Wagyu Beef Rice 2.5/5 this dish was so salty. We were eating the meat from the golden pho pillows instead. Dodging Steak, Bone Marrow and Eggs 4/5 - group voted this was the best dish Bun Bo Hue 3/5 Northern Sautéed Wagyu Pho 3/5 as the party who ordered this dish said the portion was small. And some items and drinks we tried to order were not available. We came in around 12 and it wasnt that busy yet, so we were surprised. For dessert, we tried the fish sauce caramel flan. I was worried that it might be too "fishy" but it actually wasn't. The only thing we wished was that it would come out cold. It was lukewarm. 3/5, if it was cold, then 4/5. Service was alright. We had to ask for refills and other things a few times. But the restaurant is beautiful, and on the water so I'll give them that.

Yelp
Great find! Right by the waterfront waterfront, great space, great food, great service!!! The food is so unique and delicious! So glad we came here with family. This is the best Vietnamese food ever outside of Vietnam! Totally recommend.

Yelp
Wow! One word to describe my experience at this lovely Vietnamese restaurant, Anchovies and Salt. It is tucked in next to Boeing Renton and very close to several hotels. What a great spot! Food so delicious, location is great and most important people behind this incredible place are so pleasant, very friendly and excited. Ambiance is awesome, faces Lake Washington. Very clean, can be romantic am sure at night. Being a Wednesday, first 100 customers can order 12 Kumamoto oysters for $12, $1 each oyster originally $48! So each one of us had a platter and was so good! So fresh! How can you beat that! Then we all shared an app - bone marrow with grilled baguette slices. We ordered each our entree, vermicelli noodle with wagyu beef or Bun Bo Xao Wagyu, Bun Cha Ha Noi or Hanoi Pork Vermicelli and Nem Cus Be or Northern Crab rolls. Our server. Whitney was so friendly, so accommodating. She is knowledgeable of each dish. She's awesome and sure others are too! I have nothing else to say except you need to eat at this place. You will definitely not regret it. You will have a great time!

Yelp
A great place to dine when in the Lake Washington area. This is probably the most popular place and also has plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The Vietnamese cuisine here is good, but for me it's the company that makes it great. Its great because I can order plenty of items to share among friends and enjoy it with them. There's a bit of something for everyone on the menu.

Yelp
This restaurant has been on my list for quite some time and the reels on IG from content creators and influencers that have gone here have been mesmerizing! My bf and I went last weekend! I wanted to wear a nice summer dress and my bf rocked a nice shirt and cargo shorts. When we got here, we parked in the public parking lot near Hyatt Regency Lake Washington. Retail parking is here and you can have it validated at the restaurant. I believe the restaurant validates for 2 hours but not certain. My bf paid around $8 for few or so hours. Anchovies & Salt is by the water and it was beautiful! You can see the boats and jet skis, hence probably only during spring and summer weather lol. Anchovies & Salt is known to be the biggest restaurant in the world outside of Vietnam! They have this said in the restaurant. It's gorgeous inside with red lanterns and plants. We ate outside! The staff really works well together and really check in on us as they rotate check-ins. One of them introduced herself and went over the specials and personal favorites which was super nice of her to do! We ordered drinks; I got non-alcoholics, fresh young coconut juice (served in a real coconut with fresh coconut juice) and the sunset Saigon (refreshing POG). Sunset Saigon was definitely my fave! It was POG but I felt there was another liquid which I could not figure out. My bf has the spiked coconut and it was AMAZING! Malibu rum and the right size amount too. We got the water fern cakes, very good and the grilled oysters, HUGE! We also go the lemongrass tofu, pineapple and mushroom (my favorite because of all the flavors) and the lemongrass chili chicken. The northern wagyu pho was SO good! One of the BEST pho broths I've had. Savory and tasty! I gave this place 4 stars because it was THAT GOOD! However, there were a couple of things that had happened as a result: 1) as the afternoon progressed, it got really busy at the restaurant. We ordered dessert; the dragonfruit with mango custard sauce and it took around 45 minutes to come through. We had to ask one of the servers on the progress for it and felt it took way too long to receive. We understand how busy it was tho. One of the bus boys took the iPad because we explained how it died or turned black and we were gonna pay with it but couldn't because of that reason. We had to go up to the front to pay. 2) unfortunately, I had developed a very upset stomach when I got home. I went 4x and I suspected it was the grilled oysters since my bf didn't have any, and we shared the rest of the food...so while that wasn't a great experience at all, this restaurant is still very appealing and delicious on its own! AND I really liked those grilled oysters. I truly believe it was cooked well and my stomach didn't react well to it...

Yelp
Anchovies & Salt Renton, WA What a great find! Elevated Vietnamese cuisine, right next to the water! They claim that this is the largest Vietnamese restaurant outside Vietnam. On Wednesdays, $1 fresh Kumamoto Oysters ( normally $4 a piece)! How can you beat that! We had a dozen each. They were fresh, briny and the mignonette was perfect. I had the Bun Cha Hanoi. My wife had the Grilled Wagyu with Vermicelli. Our friend had the Fried Crab Rolls. She also had lychee lemonade which was refreshing. Then we shared Broiled Bone Marrow and sliced baguettes . Food really great tasting and artfully presented. Bun Cha Hanoi had a lot of meat and was awesome! Our server Whitney was super friendly and engaging. But the each staff member , from the warm hostess to the bussers we encountered were energetic and seemed eager to work there. The restaurant ceiling is soaring and beautifully decorated with colorful lanterns. It is definitely a huge space. Decor is classy and well appointed. Great experience for sure.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful and sits right by the lake for a nice water view. Service 4/5 - the staff was attentive and gave good recommendations for entrees and drinks Food 3/5 -they had good representation from different regions of Vietnam in their dishes and a lot of them are unique. The dishes were on the sweeter side for me (cod sauce and the pho broth). Besides the sweetness, I thought the flavors were a bit lackluster. The wagyu didn't taste any different than regular steak beef... Price 3/5 -it's definitely on the more expensive price for the amount of food you get but makes sense right by the water with view. The presentation of food also somewhat justifies it

Yelp
We caught the Blue Angels at the Airshow on Friday with the best view over the lake! Plus, half-off beers and $2 oysters?! The service was amazing, our waitress was so friendly! We loved the Happy Hour small bites, especially the spicy grilled shrimp with that amazing sauce! The Wagyu Mac Khen skewers were also a hit! The Banh Beo was a miss, but the view made up for the price!

Yelp
Great spot at the south side of lake Washington on a gorgeous weather day. The dining room is well done and we were invited to take a tour. Truly a unique spot. City health rating is fair. The food was tasty. We ordered the lemon grass fried pork belly, fried rice, pork egg rolls, and some greens. Definitely paying either to be seen and/or the location. Many folks here, dining room robots doing stuff but service was below average, although friendly folks. For the cost: no

Yelp
Anchovies & Salt is one of the area's most architecturally interesting restaurants in the area. It is truly eye captivating, especially the one private dining room with all the colored lanterns. It is so pretty. The view is extraordinary especially when they can open up the sliding glass panels to have an unobstructed lake view. I only wish the rest of the restaurant was as good. Anchovies & Salt has a consistency issue. I am uncertain why, but all I know is they truly struggle. For example, some days the rice is perfect, other days the rice is chewy and undercooked. I stopped ordering the lingcod after finding too many bones as sometimes they remember to debone the fish and other days it is completely missed. I ordered the PHỞ TÁI LĂN WAGYU and the first time I had it the meat was perfectly tender and delicious! The second time the meat was overly cooked. Forget the bone marrow - every time that has been disappointingly little for how much we pay. The cocktails, too, are all over the map. I haven't been in to see the same bartender more than twice. The cocktails often feel like they're being made by inexperienced people as they can be too sweet or too imbalanced. Rarely do I see anyone sitting at the bar despite the bar having some of the most comfortable seats. Service is straight forward as all orders are placed through a mobile computer pad. Little robots on wheels bring out the dishes from the kitchen and the servers place the dishes from the robots to the table. Very little interaction with people at all.

Yelp
Came by for brunch and lunch service. First, it's a gorgeous location and they have outdoor seating and allow pets. Pets have to be tied up by the fencing as to not disturb servers and staff. *With the weather and sunset setting at 9pm now, venues that have outdoor dining should be wiping down cobwebs, and chairs more often and this was not the case here. We had to wipe down our chairs. *customer service was nonexistent from wait staff and a kind busser was more helpful than our waiter. *I have a severe food allergy that I notified the hostess who sat us down and was informed she would come back with a shellfish free menu, this never happened. *After repeatedly asks (4 times) for a physical menu as the QR code was not able to share the cocktail options, we finally got an iPad. *Food and drinks took an unreasonable long time to come. Don't come if you are in a rush or short time frame. Honestly, with all the hype of this establishment and it being an elevated Viet food, I was disappointed and had to pay for parking to enjoy this place as they only validate parking up to an hour. Customer service wasn't there for anyone who wasn't Caucasian and it was very blatant. I can only recommend this location if you want a nice water view and enjoy outdoor dinning that you have to clean your seats before you sit. Seattle has great elevated Vietnamese cuisine that you don't need to pay for parking to enjoy. Plus actual customer service. Look into Ramie or Monsoon. Food here was more on the level or Ba Bar.

Yelp
OVERALL: Some things are really good, some things were just okay as I've had better or you cant beat homemade. I would want to go back to try it one more time as I'd like to try the other menu items. FAMILY FRIENDLY: Yes PET FRIENDLY: No PARKING: Street Parking and shared parking garage with surrounding businesses. FOOD/MENU: Hau Song - half dozen (Taylor's Shellfish Kumamoto, Shigoku, Virginica, or Fat Bastards. Oyster of the Day, Vietnamese Coriander, Lemon, Calamansi Mignonette) $24: 4 Stars - super fresh and the mignonette is a nice Vietnamese twist. Canh Chua Ca Hoi Mien Tay (King Salmon Sour Soup - Seasonal NW Fish, pineapple, tomato, elephant ear, rice paddy herb, tamarind, garlic, okra, cilantro, bean sprout) $26: I'm not a huge fan of sour... so its was just okay but I'm not a fan of cooked fruit or okra so there is some bias in this lol Ca Kho To (Black Cod) $26: 5 Stars - very yummy. This is one of those things I never tried to make at home so I'm was super happy to have this. Goi Bo Wagyu Luc Lac (Shaken Wagyu Salad - Wagyu Tri-Tip, Watercress, Tomato, Onion, Garlic) $28: 3 Stars - I had high hopes for this since I love Luc Lac and its Wagyu but maybe because of the high expectations... anyway it tasted like any normal luc lac and missing some seasoning. Pho Tai Lan (Northern Sauteed Wagyu Pho - Fresh Pho Noodles, Mishima Reserve Wagyu, Garlic, Scallion, *Broth contains pork bones) $24: 3 Stars - Pho base was decent. I've definitely had better... I don't think having Wagyu makes this more special... Suon Bo (Pho Spiced Short Rib - Huge dino bone beef ribs, slow-cooked in pho spices, grilled, and served with citrus cilantro and pickled veggies) $54: 4 Stars - flavor was absolutely amazing and makes me want to have this again and again. The only issue I had was there was so much fat on this piece of rib. Ba Roi Ruoc Sa (Villagers Pork Belly - Pork Belly, Lemongrass, Shrimp Paste) $5: Really good and wish this was an entrée size lol Ca Com Chien Gion (Golden Anchovies - Dried Anchovies, Sugar, Fish Sauce) $5: I love Asian Style anchovies! Crispy, chew, and great flavor. RESTAURANT/SERVICE: This place was huge! I wasn't really sure what to expect since it was a dark and raining night when we went. Since it was a Monday, it was dead in there... like there was two other occupied table other than us. Staff was really nice and attentive but it might have been the lack of anything else to do

Yelp
We went near the end of happy hour on a weekday afternoon. We were lucky to find free street parking nearby. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the nice view. We were able to place a happy hour order just in time, the waitress and server made sure it happened! Our server, Andrew, gave us some great recommendations and was overall very friendly and helpful! The Golden Pho Pillows were delicious - it was a great mix of flavors and textures. We also really liked the grilled oysters - the sauce was perfect. The chicken was pretty good, just make sure to add the Vietnamese coriander and dipping salt. The water fern cakes were nice to try too, I hadn't had anything like it previously. We were sad that they ran out of $1 oysters as that's what we were looking forward to the most when we went. The prices overall are definitely not low but the flavors and getting to try new things was nice.

Yelp
My husband and I took a trip up to Renton for our 12 year anniversary. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington. Before we headed up from Portland, we also booked our nice dinner out at Anchovies & Salt. We were thrilled that it was literally next door. Being half Vietnamese, and not eating Vietnamese food often, I was ecstatic to dine at an upscale Viet restaurant with great reviews. My husband and I had an early enough reservation at 4:30pm, so we were able to order happy hour. We decided to do the entire dinner on small bites. Bonus! The ambiance was nice being on the lake and had a fun vibe inside. I'm sad to say that the food wasn't as delightful. We did enjoy the tablet ordering system though. Here's what we ordered: - Drinks: A&S old fashion, lemon drop, and a spiked coconut - Northern Crab & Pork - these were okay, but very greasy - Chili Salt Shrimp Skewers - decent - Grilled Lo Lot Beef - again, just okay - Water Fern Cake - I enjoyed these delightful little cups - Grilled Oysters - I always like oysters. These weren't stand out, but still good All in all, we were kind of bummed as it was our special dinner out and we just weren't blown away and it was pretty pricey.

Yelp
I've tried this place a couple of times now and it always gives like a semi upscale Vietnamese restaurant! Great view of the water if you're near the windows and overall great experience every time I've went. The food was great, at this point I've tried like half of the menu and will say my preferred go to is the black cod clay pot fish and the caramelized pork ribs! Sometimes their portion can be a bit small so would need to order 2 of certain foods especially if I'm there for a family gathering or with a few friends. I've tried a couple of their beverages as well and I definitely love their Mua thu spritz and lychee lemon grass tea are super good! Our waiter/ waitress every time was super knowledgeable and I love asking people what do they recommend let's say if I had this (x) in mind or what am I craving for that day and they'll give you a good suggestion!

Yelp
My family and I have been here a few times, and today was such a beautiful day that we decided to come back and enjoy a meal by the water. We were excited to try some of their new dishes, as the menu is always changing. This time, we noticed the food has improved, and the portions seemed a bit smaller, which gave us a chance to try a wider variety of dishes. The steamed oysters were perfectly cooked moist and rich in flavor. My son loved the egg fried rice; even though it's a simple dish, it paired perfectly with the side dishes. The salted chicken was a little on the bland side for my taste, but I appreciated how thinly they sliced it, making it easy to enjoy. Overall, we had a great meal and will definitely be back to try more items from their rotating menu!

Yelp
Dropped in for happy hour and while the interior is large and nice, the food didn't do it for me. Ordered a few things- chicken salad, steamed rice cakes, oysters and pho. Chicken salad had good flavor but the chicken skin and pieces of chicken were really tough and rubbery, sauce on the oysters was nice and pungent had a good kick but the oysters themselves had a funny taste, the steamed rice cakes were ok- nothing too exciting or standoutish, pho broth was really nice but the noodles (they are homemade) needed a bit more chew- they almost disappeared and the meat was cut up a little large (personal preference). The food overall was just ok- as someone who eats Vietnamese food a lot and visits Vietnam regularly, I didn't find anything here that would make me want to come back. Prices are expensive but it's on par for the area and being on the water. Service was good. However, the booth we sat in had some grease marks (maybe food or oil from someone's head?) so it wasn't ideal to look at it.

Yelp
Delicious, beautifully plated food in an equally gorgeous warm wood paneled environment with views of Lake Washington. Each dish we ordered was unique and boldly flavorful. The pho spiced short rib was a meat lovers standout with generous portions. The black cod clay pot had a delicate fish with a savory sauce that's great over rice that my spoon kept gravitating toward. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Great spot for Vietnamese food with a waterfront view! I ordered the Bánh Xèo Chén, claypot black cod, and lemongrass pork belly. Everything was delicious. The black cod was especially tender and flavorful, definitely recommend it. The lemongrass pork belly was crispy and addicting. I also got a side of rice, though it was a bit dry and hard for my taste. Patio seating is perfect on a sunny day since you're right next to the water, and the interior is beautifully decorated. It's interesting that all items are ordered through an app, but the system works just fine. Overall, a great experience at what feels like a more upscale Vietnamese restaurant.

Yelp
We came to Renton on the boat and ended up at Anchovies and Salt. We had never been to Anchovies and Salt and were curious to know the type of food, environment and ambiance. We came to find out this restaurant is the biggest Vietnamese restaurant in the US. It was beautiful. The colors, lights and it is right on the water. As we walked in we were greeted right away and sat immediately . The waiter comes up and hands the table two iPads (there were 4 of us). You scroll through from drinks, apps, main course. They have a full section of favorites, vermicelli bowls, pho and other delicacies. We started off we the pork and vegetarian egg rolls and wagyu beef sticks. Both were amazing. I ordered the beef salad and the other people in my party ordered a mixture of tofu and pork vermicelli bowls. It was delicious. The only recommendation would be the side fish sauce can be a bit spicy. They were no other sauces such as a peanut sauce for people who don't like spice. Another hic-up is for not so many tables the service was a bit slow. Overall, this is a great spot To try with friends family or date night. Would definitely come back.

Lacking customer service They "forgot" to tell us for a 4:00pm reservation it's appetizer only. Asked for ice for our water 3+ times and still never got it. They are "trying", but still need some customer service training ... and update your website.

Yelp
Quyen knows what he's doing with food. Every single bite had me saying "oh my god" at my table. I attended an event planner event showcasing their catering options, and I knew I would have to come back here. Two MUST try's; the lychee martini, and the ca phe nuoc mam (fish sauce caramel coffee). The iced coffee is thick, rich, sweet, and creamy. I downed it because I couldn't get enough of the taste. It's an incredible cup of coffee. The lychee martinis are some of the best I've ever had, and they have multiple fruit options of lychee isn't your thing! The vibes here are just as incredible as the views of lake Washington. From private rooms to bar seating, they have it all! Plenty of parking in this area, and you can walk the dock after your meal to enjoy the view. If you haven't been here, you have to come back and try the wagyu pho!

Yelp
Ok, ok, what is happening? Robots are literally at this gorgeous waterfront restaurant. Packed and busy, reserve a table. TAKE PICTURES! This very hard to find restaurant and in many ways, it is simply wonderful. However, I want to help set some expectations. I would have loved to have known what I was walking into. First it is very Asian, so the name, Anchovies and Salt made me think I was walking into a French or Italian seafood restaurant. That was surprising. Ok, I loved the view. OMG - Golden hour, sunset is breathtaking. Huge WOWWWW factor. The food was hit and miss. The hot pot fish was so flavorful, light and melts in your mouth. This was by far the best thing on the menu. Don't hesitate, get it! The stir fried rice was surprising and delish. Broccoli was solid and good. I was just hoping it was organic and I am not positive it was. The crispy spring rolls did not win us over and I love them, so I was excited to try them. I think they could buy theirs at Trader Joe's and do better. These must be frozen from some store. They had no flavor at all. I recommend to the chef to really rework the recipe or buy them from a different place. I was shocked they were so bland. The beef pho was packed with flavor. The yummy mocktail with the sprinkles of gold was SOOOO yummy - I sucked it down in one sip. I was sad to see it go! Wanted another -- but didn't indulge. This place is packed with high aesthetics and their designer deserves to be recognized. If there are awards for best aesthetics for restaurants this place should win the gold. It's one of the prettiest places in the PNW to eat at. Walk around and admire the art and design inside the restaurant. It's SO lovely. I would come back just for the ambiance. OK..... back to these cute little roaming table Robots and the high techno service. This is a buzz kill for me personally. I really think they should rethink this concept. To be honest... I don't want to order my whole meal off an ipad. It took my group FOREVER to read and order and scroll -- and the descriptions are not explanatory. If they are going to do IPAD only ordering they need to hire a talented, professional, colorful copywriter that can really make the dish descriptions COME ALIVE! I like to ask questions, meet and talk with the waitstaff. I like interpersonal connection. I don't want to base my tip off of high techy service and robots. Robots bring the food out and the waitstaff puts it on your table. Do they really need waitstaff? Why not just send the robot to your table and you put it on your own table. By the time you order off the IPAD, have very little human contact, it is off putting and makes you want to just dismiss your server. It's like, "if I am not worth really interacting with, why do I want to interact with you?" Soooo this concept inadvertently creates a detached robotic interaction with the restaurant and you don't feel the "LOVE". For example, have you ever been to El Gaucho in Seattle or Bellevue. They greet you by name; the MANAGER (not waitress) makes the rounds, comes to your table and asks how your party is; asks if you are celebrating something; asks how your meal is; asks if you want to try the special drink they have; and by the time you leave you are saying to yourself, "WOW, they care about me! I LOVE THIS PLACE!" I think we need more personal attention and love in the world, and so this robot thing really lacks that special touch. Yes, yes the staff was there if we needed anything, and is not completely inattentive or hands off, but I am wondering how soon until this place just serves people with only robots? It's exactly like the self check out line at the grocery store. Someone is there if you raise your hand and need something. Do I want to pay $200 dollars for that? No. However the view and the ambiance was great. I will say, the wait staff let us sit there for hours, unbothered, deep in conversation -- so on the other hand, if you want very little personal interaction, don't need much personal care or attention, like a silent waitstaff, then this is perfect for you. It would be great for a business meeting where you don't care for an attentive or overly enthusiastic waitstaff. Also, it is high on Asian culture and it has a VERY Asian approach to service -- non intrusive, nice but not warm. You will not be 100% positive they are going to accommodate your special requests, but they act as if they do get it. So cross your fingers and hope they do! In our case they did deliver our special requests. Would I go back again, YES! Absolutely, however, I have now adjusted my expectations -- and won't be as shocked. I would not pick this place for certain occasions. It's worth the experience. Of course it is unique, progressive and while the decor honors the past in some ways, the approach is clearly something from the future. It's packed and I can see that people seem to really love this place. I am glad I went.

Yelp
This is, aesthetically AND in terms of food quality, one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever dined in (...and if you've read my reviews I'm an international traveler). Upon entry we were greeted by staff but also the atmosphere. There's a huge piece of jade as an art piece at the entrance and lanterns up above hanging from the ceiling. It's breathtaking. I didn't catch his name but I believe it was the owner who greeted us, and he was so friendly! We got there early but were still able to be seated, in a cozy corner with a clear view of the lake. The food. Oh my gosh the food. We didn't even have access to the full menu..we got the happy hour menu but it was more than enough to satisfy us. I enjoyed the short ribs, and coconut butter with bread but I've got to say those crab rolls were to die for. I wanted to order 2 more but I didn't want to overdo it. Next time I'll overdo it, haha. The drinks were great! Definitely recommend trying a cocktail (or two) of you go. The owner also invited us to explore the restaurant, which he proudly explained represented different parts and eras of Vietnam. We were shy initially but before leaving checked it out and woah. Just when you think you've seen it all it just keeps going. It's also the largest Vietnamese restaurant outside of Vietnam, and for that alone, you should totally check it out.

Yelp
Anchovies & Salt is a great addition to the area with exquisite ingredients, great outdoor views and service was decent. My favorite to order would be the raw oyster - seafood is so good. Additionally, banh beo and a small bowl of pho. If you're looking for something for your family to enjoy without the too upscale feel I would take a gander here.

Yelp
We were very disappointed with our recent visit. The service was neither friendly nor accommodating, and the so-called "happy hour" drink price of $16 is far above what would reasonably be expected. Our group frequents many establishments, and unfortunately, your pricing and service fell well below standard. It's difficult to understand how this can be called "happy hour" when the price is the same as any other time. At the bar, happy hour beer is $4, which is far more reasonable. We would like to enjoy your restaurant more often, but with prices this high, it makes the experience far less enjoyable. Instead of feeling welcomed, it feels unreasonably expensive--and frankly, it comes across as greedy.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday early evening. We enjoyed the beautiful water view outside of the restaurant. The restaurant was spacious and well decorated. Ordering off a tablet was convenient as detailed info of the dishes was shown. We enjoyed our beautiful cocktails. The deep fried smelts platter was very delicious and it was fun to wrap our own rolls. The server also confirmed that the anniversary platters got so popular that they decided to keep them in the menu permanently. My friends thought the pho and the pork belly were a little too salty. Their restrooms were not available / open so they told us to go to Hyatt next to the restaurant for using their restrooms. Overall, the experience was positive though the pricing was a little bit more on the expensive side. Parking was street parking - 2 hrs for free. We had to scan the code and still put in a credit card on the app even it was free.

Yelp
Came here with some Yelp beauties to try out the hype! It turned out better than expected since there were so many mixed reviews! We came here for happy hour but also caught some of the lunch menu! We got some cocktails as well as some appetizers. What intrigued us the most was some of the anniversary dishes which included a smelt wrap platter. This turned out to be our favorite! We also got a Ba bo lat and a Wagyu Pho and a few other dishes. Definitely would recommend since the service during the Sunday afternoon we were there was very good. Although their bathrooms weren't operational so we had to walk outside to the hotel to use the bathroom which was disappointing. The space was quite big so you can have bigger parties here and people at the bar. Would love to try again soon.

Yelp
Our server, Marcus, was incredibly attentive and kind. He immediately made us feel welcome, noticed that my friend was a bit chilly, and didn't hesitate to offer to turn on the heat lamp. That small gesture really set the tone for a wonderful meal. The service truly felt like a 10 out of 10 experience--thoughtful, warm, and genuine. We ordered the grilled oysters, egg fried rice, and caramelized pork ribs. All were delicious, however the grilled oysters were the table favorite.

Yelp
This was my first time coming to this restaurant, after hearing so many good reviews about it. The restaurant is located next to the Hyatt Lake Washington, super convenient if you are staying at the hotel. The inside is lovely, lots of wood and black paint, is kind of a vibe. It has robot servers, which is startling when you first see them. They are so cute. ALL the food we ordered was delicious and full of so many fresh favors. Not pictured...grilled lemon grass chicken. Man oh Man, it was good. The human servers were attentive. Using the robot servers to bring the dishes near the table, but the human servers presented the dishes and shared information about them. The Crispy Red Snapper was really good, but there was no meat on the fish which made it crazy to share. We were all scraping at the bones. For a $48 dish, I expected more. I probably won't order this again for a shareable meal. But it was fun to put it all together. Now, we can not- not talk about the OKAY rating in the window. According to google, my trusted side kick for all things, I don't know about. . OKAY rating: The restaurant has some food safety concerns that need attention, but not severe enough to warrant immediate closure. We pray this restaurant corrects the issues cuz their food is soooooo good.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this restaurant, they're creative and an unfamiliar experience for even a seasoned foodie. If you want a premium Seattle type restaurant without the hassle of going downtown, this is the place. A little pricy sure, but it's a memorable tasty meal and would choose this over another routine Din Tai Fung visit. The service ordering from the tablet was quick and efficient. The atmosphere was beautiful on the water and nice interior decor. I'm recommending it for all corporate lunch and dinners in the Renton area. The coconut butter geoduck was my favorite dish.

Yelp
Great view during the day, great vibes, decor and both food and drink menu felt very intentional and honoring the Vietnamese heritage. I like the concept of more fine dining Vietnamese food, and they seem to do it well. Also all the staff we interacted with were really friendly and welcoming (though inexperienced), restaurant was clean, chairs were comfortable, bathrooms were clean. The bánh bèo was really good, though missing the traditional pork crackling on top. Drinks were a big hit for all of us! Everything tasted fresh and flavors were perfect. I just came back from Vietnam, exploring basically the entire country, so it was nice to relive those moments through the food! Service was a little slow - we ordered things to share and were waiting on an order of bún chả Hà Nội, so we asked one of the servers who said "it should arrive soon" but they must've forgotten because we finished our meal and asked another server, who then checked with the kitchen and told us they were "still waiting on some ingredients" so we had to wait longer for that dish, even though we saw it coming out for the table beside us. Personally, I would've loved for everything to be hotter. We tried the phở tái too, and I really liked the fresh noodles and tenderness of the beef but broth was only lukewarm. We got 2 bò né, and the sauce was really good with all the right components, but I wish it had the true sizzling factor. 1 plate was missing pate, so we had to ask for it but the server seemed a little confused, so we had to physically show her. Also the eggs on both plates were way too over cooked, so we couldn't dip the baguette in the yolk. We felt like the price we paid - around $45/person, wasn't bad at all given the beautiful view and quality of food. I think if these improvements were made, the experience would be even better!

Yelp
The flavors here are more on the subtle side in my opinion. The fish sauce caramel coffee is unusual for sure, but the taste is pretty typical as the fish sauce flavor is just barely there. Either way, it was still delicious. As for the fresh dragon fruit dessert, I wish that there was more shrimp salt. I did not taste it at all lol. The wagyu pho was good, but I wish I was able to adjust the spice level, because I like my pho spicy. The banh mi bo kho was probably my favorite dish ordered. We took these as leftovers and it definitely hit the spot for the next day's lunch. We also really enjoyed the bone marrow and golden pillow pho. The staff were all very nice and made our experience great! One of the things I wished that was different was that you have to order through the iPad menu. It makes the ordering process longer because there is only one iPad, so typically only one person at the table can view the menu at a time.

Yelp
The food is great! Service is amazing! Love the ambiance and setting by the water. Interior catches the eye. The introduction and presentation to the vietnamese culture and how the head chef brought the flavors here from Vietnam is quite the experience. I have been here a few times and I have enjoyed coming here. Love how exclusive it feels yet!

Yelp
First the food. Absolutely mouthwatering perfect I tried new things and was grateful that the Waite staff told me how to eat it. They were very helpful. Fern, water cakes will be one of my favorites now. Not sure what it is, but it doesn't matter. It was so damn good. I would recommend you actually try everything on the small bites menu. Had the Vietnamese pork salad and it was good I mean, you really can't go wrong nothing to rave about however, everything on this bite's menu was something I could carry on and on and on about .The ambience by the waterfront is breathtakingly beautiful. Would have given it five stars except they messed up our bill two times before getting it right. First, it was the happy hour prices that they did not put on the bill and second they added a second spiked coconut. That we did not have it's a good thing we didn't have it. I wouldn't notice it.

Yelp
Not impressed as expected, the restaurant looked fancy but the food and taste was just at normal level. The pho was a little too sweet, but did not present well for a new Asian style - if this was what the restaurant had aimed for; nor a traditional Vietnamese.

Yelp
Anchovies and Salt is definitely one of a kind, but with many areas for improvement. Starting with the good- the restaurant is beautiful! The decor, layout, and overall aesthetic were amazing and was definitely what was expected of a fine Vietnamese dining experience. These made for some great pictures as well! However, I was not as satisfied with the service and dining experience. While the staff were all friendly and welcoming, there were many times where I felt they were intruding on our dinner, interjecting in our conversations during their frequent visits to our table. I understand the need to deliver prompt and personable service, but this just felt like slightly overstepping boundaries. I also did not appreciate that the staff kept suggesting we order more dishes with their menu tablets - which speaking of, the tablets felt a bit out of place and not to standard for a supposed high end restaurant. The serving robot area under the stairs was similarly unsightly given the fine dining standard this restaurant tries to hold themselves to. The food was delicious, but for their prices and the high standards they were touting, I expected much more. There are many other places where I can find Vietnamese food that is of the same quality for a much lower price and greater portions. I also was disappointed when we ordered the bánh bèo chiên and were served just regular bánh bèo. Overall, Anchovies & Salt has much potential to become a great high end restaurant but several things make them miss the mark. It is worth trying, but don't expect a bang for your buck.

Yelp
Vietnamese with a view! Came here with a friend who lives locally. She had never been here but it's heard good things. And those things were justified because the food was really good! I had their beef stew soup (PHỞ BÒ KHO) which had a little hint of spice and was a warm and savory served over rice noodles. The beef was fall apart tender. I don't have a picture of what she had but it was the grilled pork and pork patty vermicelli bowl and she LOVED it. We ordered the BÁNH BÈO (Water Fern Cakes ) made with Rice Flour, Shredded Shrimp, Fried Shallots, Scallion Oil to share after we saw a tray of it walked past us I could have eaten 10 more bowls of it. So yummy! Our waitress Julianne was great...attentive, friendly and our order was accurate. Def a must try if your near Renton!

Yelp
This place is huge and really nice! They have tablet devices for you to order and robots to chauffer and serve your food to you. - BÁNH BÈO CHÉN (Water Fern Cakes) - yummy! - HÀU NƯỚNG (Grilled Oysters) - The sauce that came with the oysters was very addicting! I suggest using the remaining sauce on the water fern cakes. - PHỞ TÁI LĂN WAGYU (Northern Sautéed Wagyu Pho) - Tasty and very comforting. - BÚN BÒ HUẾ (Hue Wagyu Beef Noodle Soup) - Comes with banana blossoms! Tasty and comforting. - CÀ PHÊ NƯỚC MẮM (Fish Sauce Caramel Coffee) - I couldn't taste the fish sauce! It just tasted very caramelly. Apparently everyone talks about the pricing of this place. You be the judge of that.

Yelp
Anchovies and Salt was definitely a beautiful and amazing place to go to. The inside of the restaurant was really nice and also had a great view of the ocean. The service was decent and the vietnamese food on the other hand could have been better at the price they were listed for. I ordered the CÁ CHIÊN SỐT MẮM XOÀI (Mango Salmon), THANH LONG XỐT XOÀI (Fresh Dragon Fruit with Mango Purée and Shrimp Salt), and the TRÀ ĐÀO CAM SẢ (Lemongrass Peach-Orange Tea). Also had the BÁNH BÈO (Water Fern Cakes) which was shared with the whole group. The BÁNH BÈO was not the best, it was stuck in the little containers it was served in an a little bland even with the fish sauce. The CÁ CHIÊN SỐT MẮM XOÀI (Mango Salmon) was pretty good. The salmon was cooked well and crispy on the outside with a nice mango salad. The THANH LONG XỐT XOÀI (Fresh Dragon Fruit with Mango Purée and Shrimp Salt) was ok. The best part about it was the mango purée but was definitely refreshing after the meal. The TRÀ ĐÀO CAM SẢ (Lemongrass Peach-Orange Tea) was ok as well. Decent peach taste. My sister ordered the lychee one and it was definitely a lot more better than the peach. Service was nice and the experience was overall pretty good. The food overall was ok, I had better experience with the Vietnamese food I tried today.

Yelp
Very cute place! I love the decor and love that it's by the waters. The pork vermicelli bowl was good, it did come with a lot of noodles that I could not finish. The oysters were delicious, great flavor. The water fern cakes were interesting, haven't tried it before but it was good. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
